I walked the long mile in their rocky, dusty yard to find the old maxima and it had the part I needed, a door glass for the back drivers side. I walked all the way back in the heat, waited on line and paid for the part and labor to remove the glass. The cashier even made a special note to make sure the laborer knew it was the door glass. When my sister returns the next day they had pulled the wrong glass despite all the extra effort to prevent that. The cashier promises that they would correct this and have it the next day. The next day they call and they still have the wrong glass. Now they say sorry the other glass is gone. I say no they are not looking for the door glass. A few days pass and I stop by. They try to give me the wrong glass again. I explain once again the situation. I asked them to go and look but the manager Greg refuses. He laughs as he approves for me to come back another day and look for free. The cashier is polite but just says Im sorry.. there was no sense of customer service.. no effort to make this right.. CAPS is a good idea but new management is needed. i really felt dismissed and frustrated by this whole process. This makes no sense. There was absolutely no effort to serve the customer.**** UPDATE****I changed my rating from 2 to 4 after receiving a call from the General Manger Kaleb who apologized for my experience, listened to my concerns and efficiently resolved the issue in less than 48 hours. As disappointed as I was with my initially experience, I am equally impressed by their efforts to resolve the problem and improve their customer service.
Sold them my 93 lebaron today got 200 for it. Just needed it gone! I have also come for parts. Mask wearing is highly appreciated here. Parking may not be great but you will receive pretty good customer service once inside. The lot is huge so do your online research or call 1st. And yes bring your tools and if you have a tool box they want to look in it upon entry.
I would love to give positive feedback. We have been to multiple junk yards as a family, so this isnt new but we were unable to enter because our 9 year old was with us. We have no one nearby so our kids are literally always with us. While I understand the reasoning behind it, it makes it impossible to visit. I hope as a family centered business you can find a way to allow a family experience. Our daughter happens to love helping her dad work on the truck so he isnt going anywhere she isnt welcome.
80 percent poor customer service, most of the employees are rude and unprofessional.Good for finding use car parts.
The logistics of this place is amazing not like any yard I ve ever been to before. Told them what I was looking for they gave me a couple receipts with the location, vehicle color and year. And when I didnt find what I wanted he checked the other yards for me. And printed out receipts again. Unfortunately what they had wasnt the color I needed. But his efforts saved me time. Great staff and customers as well
G.C. at the location near Belt Blvd and Mike at the Genito Rd location were both excellent agents of customer service. Very impressed by their professionalism and willingness to exceed expectations without being urged to do so.
Best Pull your own Part Yard in Central Va. !
Great place and if they dont have it they will get it for you with out a doubt
Prices are good cars are shopped hard. Employees are great!
Nice place..been goin my whole life..just make sure you know what you need & know the condition it MAY be in.
Cheap, great selection, and they have warranty and return policy. Best junkyard in town
Just sold my 2002 Chevrolet Cavalier to Chesterfield Auto Parts today. The process was very smooth and quick! They gave me a reasonable price for it and it was also a very safe environment as well. Everyone there was wearing masks and social distancing as well! Thank you to Chesterfield auto parts for a great experience!!
Great people and good customer service
Great place to fine part for your car 🚗
They got all the right car parts that you need for your car.
I love CAPS the guys that work there are quick and super helpful... All business!
I have been coming here for years theyre always changing stock and you can check their inventory of cars online and the very best part is they have a standard pricing for whatever part it doesnt matter what vehicle it came off of and their price list is on their website bonus you can put in your wishlist car and when the car you picked comes in they will email you they used to text your phone which was awesome but I cant figure out how to get them to do that again whatever the case is you will know when your specific car that youre looking for first hits the yard so you have a better chance of getting the part off just all around the best junkyard.
Found my dream car there. Great staff
They get two stars instead of one because they have really good Covid-19 mitigation protocols in place. Counter is surrounded by plexiglass and you talk through a speaker. Behind the plexiglass employees were wearing masks and customers required to do the same. Plenty of space between you and the next customer. However, I specifically asked for a silver Nissan Maxima fuel filler door from a silver Maxima listed on their website. I gave them the printout with the location circled. I paid the extra $15 for them to pull it. Late Sunday afternoon when it was ready, it was white. When I asked the reason it wasnt silver, the reply is they put the vehicle color in the computer based on what they are told when it arrives. The man asked if Id walked out and looked at it, which I did not. They offer to refund the fuel filler door cost, but Id still be out the fee to pull it. Lesson learned. Walk out in the junkyard and verify that the car is the color that matches their website. I guess Ill return when they get in another silver Maxima and be sure I verify the color. Attached is a screenshot from their website, the fuel filler door next to my silver Maxima, and the fuel filler door comparing it to my white Honda. it is obviously white.
Entrance is $2.00, so much fun to look for parts, like treasure hunt. Wear thick sole closed shoes, because entire yard is full of bolts, nuts, and all kinds of small objects, and it is gravel. Also keep track of your tools, dont forget them in the vehicle as you took the parts off.
Best yard Ive been to thus far.
Miranda made my experience so SO smooth if it wasnt for her I would have been like a deer in head lights! Donna on the other hand never got out her chair and I was there for 2 hours! Ask for Miranda shes upfront, honest, moves fast, and very helpful!
Another successful mission for finding needed parts for my 300M Chrysler. Theyve always treated me fair!
The best place to shop for autoparts first.
This is my favorite parts yard. Everyone is so kind. And if u buy a Chesterfield Auto parts bucket you get 10% off everything you can fit in your bucket...deals on deals.
Being the only woman was interesting
Lots of the models nobody takes care of anyways... Why are there 20+ 90s Olds park avenues? Lot of cars needs to be refreshed and rotated.
Didnt have my model of car only 2006 i have a 2014 corolla le.but very pleasant
Love this place they have a insane amount of cars great for Honda and Nissan parts as well as looks to be every make of cars I saw Volvo Mercedes-Benz even a Jag or two.. you can always check their website and search for the make model and year of your vehicle wont give you details on specific parts but at least youll know if the vehicle is there or not so you may have a chance of finding your part website also tells you when the car was dropped in the yard so I guess the shorter amount of time in the yard means better odds of finding your part..Good luck bring your tool box and grab a wheelbarrow make it happen
Good place to get some parts for the vehicle but most of the employees should be fired. The commercials were more friendly, and some of the prices are a rip off $6 for one hubcap that was half broken.lol...
Great prices. You pull your own part. Friendly staff.
Was looking for an ac compressor for a 2004.5 volvo s40 2.4i and they went out in the heat to check and stated that it wasnt on the car. They researched and saw an 06 s40 turbo and it had the compressor on it which they pulled it off for me in 30 mins record time with the addition of those 4 nice rims that they cut me a deal. The place is awesome but the employees are extraordinary and deliver exceptional customer service.
Been around for decades, this junkyard...been doing business with them since 1987, personally...always a great selection of junk cars ready to be parted-out...prices are cheap here, some (very few) parts are priced too high, like car batteries for around $50, of course used ones, when you can get a cheap new battery at Advance or Autozone etc for $60-70...but yeah overall C.A.P. is definitely worth checking out, its $1 to get in for a full day....
I went to look at the car.try test drive.they wanted $1000 for car that dont go in drive..loud noise.flat tire.brake problems.
Had the under carriage skirt and right wheel well covers for my 99sls. It only cost 11 bucks and change. Had to pull it my self great place for used parts.
Been a customer since I could drive. Ive always enjoyed a trip to CAP. Helpful staff, organized yard and great pricing structure. I rarely leave without finding what I was looking for. Plus the new points/rewards card is great. Ive saved a bunch of cash already.
I got what I wanted with reasonable price. All the staff very helpful.
Didnt have the part I was looking for
Excellent customer service. You have to get your own part though and they dont lend out tools.
When you call them and thay tell you thay have something you can count on it to be there
The best place whereu can get used parts for your vehicle and great service from the whole crew
I was looking for a part and asked at the counter for assistance. The service rep was professional, courteous and helpful. Even though the part wasnt available on the lot, he was quick to locate it online at a decent price and arrange quick shipment. I walked out of CAP very pleased.
Great place if you or someone else knows how to pull parts & they will remove the part also for a fee.
Great service. Had what we needed on site at a great price. Thanks Tank!
Awsome place
Great place to go for auto parts. You have to pull them off yourself so if youre not a handyman/woman you might want to just have them pull the part for a few extra dollars. My daughters and I pull our own parts 😊
If youre looking to save a lot of money and youre mechanically inclined head here for auto parts!
The counter staff were very nice and helpful, the part I pulled worked great at a fraction of the price of even used ones on ebay!
Slow with getting parts readyPaid in full and had to wait 2 days to get easy parts
Only 3 junk yards I shop at. I wait tell my car hits the yard and go check.
Excellent service.
Gr at service, friendly employees and alot of parts to choose from ( NO TRUCK ON THERE LOT )
The staff are friendly and Helpful thanks
They had the parts I needed and they were not expensive
Went to the Richmond location to get a drivers front seat for a 2000 dodge grand caravan. They had a van that was exactly the same as mine, even the same exterior and interior design and colors. The seat I bought even has the exact same pattern on the fabric as the one I am replacing! It is a perfect match! The new seat is already in my van and the wife loves it! Thank you Chesterfield Auto Parts!
Ive tried ... There are no other Junkyards like it in Central Virginia
Novice mechanic here, but I love CAP. Great selection and employees
Friendly and helpful staff.
Been going there for years. It very hard to ensure any other places has parts you need.
These guys are awesome! After I finished paying for my part, I realized I left it at there after I got home. I came back the next morning with my receipt and I got it back without any problems. These guys are good honest people.
Found everything I need for my car great place ☺️
I definitely will stop by this place, they have a number of vehicles similar to mine, a Man candy store lmao
Guys were helpful in finding a vehicle not in the system!
Has really gone down over the years
They usually have a good selection of cars but only thing is they cant tell you if a specific part is there. Just the type of car your looking for is there. (Which kinda sucks) Prices for parts are usually low and they have pretty decent service. If they quote you a price make sure to write it down and get there name. They can pull the part for you at a price.
CAP is a great place to get used car parts from body to electrical to engines. Bring your tools and pick the parts you need, or for a fee they will pick them for you. The savings are significant if you have a limited budget. You can check on line to see if they have parts for your vehicle before you go. Im in a wheelchair and was able to get around and get the parts I needed, but I had to be very cautious because there are millions of little parts and widgets littering the ground just waiting to pop a tire.
Junkyard, has a big selection. The prices are ok. Staff is nice, and willing to help you. Good place to go.
Top quality pick and pay
Obtained a part that others did not have or were twice the price.
Some of the worst rude employees Ive ever seen
My parents went in to ask for a specific car piece to a car they had in stock. My parents paid 75$ for them to take the specific part out. At 12:30 p.m. they were told that the part would probably be taken out in about 2 hours. They waited exactly 2 hours (2:30 p.m.) and they were told that after 2 more hours the piece would be taken out. They waited another hour (3:30 p.m.) and after that hour they were tired of waiting and paid 2$ to enter the yard. After seeing that the car was still in one piece and that nobody was taking any parts out they were outraged. My parents demanded a refund for the 75$ to remove the car part. The man at the front desk did not want to refund the money back and stated that the part would definitely be out by 6:00 p.m.! At first it was 2 hours, then 4, then 6. Honestly, this is not how you treat your customers that want good service. In the end we did get a refund but so much time was lost and that is something that you cannot get back. If you are looking for a part I recommend that you try a trusted company like AutoZone or Advanced Auto Parts.
This is a good place were you can get parts needed for your vehicles for a reasonable price and if they dont work you can always take back and they will refund your money.
Everything you need and the staff is very knowledgeable and courteous.
Very nice staff. They were very helpful.
CAP was so helpful towards me. I completely understand that this is an establishment where the customer gets their own parts. But Im disabled so there is no way I can do that. The guys were so helpful in locating a few vehicles for my make & model needed & then were kind enough to get the parts I needed of the vehicle. & the guy I talked to on the phone was even more sweet & helpful!!! Yes I paid extra but it wasnt like I was told if I couldnt do it myself, o well kinda thing. Were as I called the Fort Lee CAP location & the guy on the phone was rude to me & he was like, if you cant get the part we cant help you.
Love it can always count on them for cheap parts when you cant afford brand new ones.
Love this place always the place to go to keep your car running low prices it has changed a lot but still great place I been going there since the 90 s time has changed I seen women working there now awesome !!!
I love the junk yard
I drove to CAP and waited in the car for a friend to go check on a part. They had it this time! Usually its picked over pretty fast.
A lot of trucks.. many stripped near bare.. eventually found what I needed.. did appreciated there was a yard worker giving out cold water bottles..
Great place.. great parts.. but the people are the best part.. the prices are pretty good deals too.
Paid $60 for one tire and rim thought that was kind of pricey for a DIY junkyard
Great they were very helpful
Was a pleasant experience ☺
My go to. Im from NC so you know.
Great place to find all kinds of vehicles! So many parts and they have a new service that lets them get the parts for you! Although no kids under 13 are allowed, you can use that service and only spend a few extra bucks!
Got more than expected, will go back
Good place to buy parts at a good price
Very large variety of parts foreign and domestic
Great You Pull Parts Locaion. They will pull for you, for a fee. I like calling and talking to the parts guy first (or in person) they will tell you how many of the car they have, plus a list of comparable parts and other years or models that can be used because its the same part. The yard is organized by model. And its very inexpensive to get in/per person. Bring your tools, borrow a wheel Barrow if needed. And if youre stuck the other customers tend to be helpful. The employees are also these if needed.
Love it always helpful and always new inventory
Found exactly what I needed and at a price that was 75% less than new. Cant beat the prices or availability of parts
Foreign and domestic cars to pick parts from. Good selectesion. Good prices.
Found me some tires $12 each off the rack, had to go a little smaller but they work fine, the tires are more if you take off a car with a core charge to bring back the rim, although most of the tires in the field are dry rotted
Interesting place. You need your own tools. No one to help you
