Several years ago I purchased a Car Care Club card through Tuffy Auto Service centers at this location and paid $100 for the service card. Part of this service card included 4 oil changes. I went in this morning to have an oil change done, and the owner of this business said he would not honor this service card. He explained that he bought the business in 2020, and that the card was purchased from the previous owner of the business. He said that he did not want to take on this expense that the previous owner had incurred. I pointed out to him that the card had no expiration date and was under the umbrella name of Tuffy Auto Service Center. I also pointed out that I was a customer that had brought in my 2 vehicles since 2017 and did he really want to lose a customer over not honoring an oil change. He again said he would not honor it. As I walked out the door, he offered a 10% discount. I just kept walking.In my opinion, 1) he should have honored theTuffy Service card irregardless of when I bought it, and 2) it makes better business sense to not dispute a $30 oil change instead of losing a valued customer.This was a lose-lose situation for both!

Great efficient encountering with the owner and staff, replaced a windshield for me and was very quick but done safely. I would recommend this place for your vehicle needs.

I had went to here to get a magnaflow muffler that I had bought to be put on. I dropped it off and left. 20 minutes later I get a call with my quote of 346.97 to have a muffler that I provided put on the truck. I declined the service because that is a crazy number for a service that involves at most 2 hours of labor and $20 worth of supplies. I came back to pick up my truck and after I had come back a employee said he could do it for $250 now your saying you can do a lower price after I had already come back? I still declined and tried to get him to do it for $200. He then began to explain that it comes with a lifetime warranty but on the estimate it says 12 month or 12,000 mile warranty. He said that it would be installed correctly by a professional. Is this how “professionals” take care of their customers? I was then given a bill of $20 for a inspection fee. I didn’t like it but I paid it just to be done dealing with it. I then walked out and realized my truck had not even been moved from the spot that I had parked it in. What is this 20$ fee for? Walking out to look at it real quick?

Ive been taking various cars to the Tuffys on Azalea for years now and each time its been a good experience. Even under different management, theyve always been helpful.

I went for inspection and they told me my ball joints had to be replaced I had to take it somewhere else and the boat joins were good

This is the worst place I have ever dealt with. They gave me at least 8 different dates my car would be done. Instead of being honest, they just didnt have the skills to do it. Held me up for months! Still tried to charge me. DO NOT believe what they say, worst array of inept, liars I have ever dealt with.

They promised theyd have the thermostat replaced the same day for 2 days. Then when we did pick up the car, it wouldnt start because they somehow burned out the ignition switch.

Car wasnt making any noise going in for inspection but failed for the motor mount .. we I had already had a pre inspection check done.. nope no extra work being done and I immediately took it back to my regular mechanic.

I went there at 10am to get a tie rod put on a 98 Camry then get an alignment. To be honest no i didnt have an appointment, just walked in.. anyways I was told i didnt need a tie rod but just needed two good front tires this was at 1pm (had a previous mechanic tell me that i do need a tie rod 2 weeks prior). Tuffy installed one tire that i already had. I literally went maybe 2 miles down the street to get another tire cuz tuffy didnt have my size tire, came back at 2pm to get it aligned and sat til 5pm just for the girl to apologize and tell me it was too late to get an alignment cuz it was almost closing time and that i should come back in the morning smh aint nobody trying to hear that bs after sitting around for hours

EVERYONE WAS REALLY NICE. HAD GREAT EXPERIENCE WITH SALES PERSON. TALKING ABOUT RESPECTING YOUR ELDERS. LEARNING FROM OUR ELDERS. I WILL BE GOING THERE FOR ANY WORK ON MY VEHICLE.

Tried to charge me over $500 to replace my thermostat. I called around and found that most mechanics would charge me half the price. When I refused the service over the phone, they became very rude and insisted I pay over $119 for diagnostic. ( The price for diagnostic changed three times while I was speaking to the owner.) The new owner laughed in my face and told me he was the best technician in Richmond. NOT EVEN CLOSE. DO NOT GO HERE. My entire family has used this location for over 5 years. NO MORE!

By far the worst auto repair shop Ive ever used. I was charged for services i did not approve and was told all repairs would be completed in one day. I waited 3 days in a row and wthe car would be finished and had to continue to leave my car there at closing time. Overall very unprofesional service for more reasons then I have time to list. If you value your time and hard earned money then dont have your car serviced here.

Regarding review 6 days prior to this: When you buy a business, you buy its liabilities as well as its assets. Shame on you to not honor the $100 PURCHASE of this elderly woman who was there for service at 7am so you could save $27! You OWED her this service!

Very friendly, warm staff. Sam at the desk was a delight and she was very helpful in giving me all options. Brad worked on my vehicle and showed me where I needed a valve during my oil change. I got an oil change and new tires. Their work is well done and time efficient. I will continue to use this Tuffy for my auto needs! Thank you Guys for making car stuff a little less painful

I got a oil change it didnt take all day

Excessively long wait due to staff ordering the wrong part and having to reorder. The staff person failed to notice my car has all wheel drive and was not honest about how long that error would extend the wait -saying in a minute when it was closer to 90 additional minutes was very unprofessional.

Spent over two hours waiting for them to take my car back for a simple inspection. After asking about the status, they still did not prioritize my experience and made me wait even longer. Eventually I just left. I highly recommend finding a different place to bring your vehicle and save yourself some time.

Brought my car in at 7 said the job takes 2houra gave them until 1 pm called in-between twice car was not done they then lied and said my car will be done. As usual assuming because Im a female I know nothing charged me $400 to weld my exhaust but thought I was gone leave with a broke flex pipe which is part of my exhaust which is what I paid them to fix. Worst service ever.

I was there after my new car battery wont jump start, so every person I asked said the alternator must be bad. So, I took it here. At first they said the new battery was bad, so I got that replaced with another new one. (didnt cost me anything from AutoZone)Then Tuffy said they have to test few things before they could tell if the alternator is bad. I also had a cylinder misfire, which I asked them to take care of as well. Finally when they returned my car they said the alternator was fine. But as I drove off from there the battery warning light on the dashboard appeared. It was past closing time, so I thought I will come back later, since I was not sure what was it about exactly. 2 days later my car broke down again in the middle of the road. I call Tuffy, and the wont take any responsibility for it, since their mechanic tested the alternator fine. So I had to tow my car and later changed the alternator with the help of a friend. Absolutely disappointed in their service.

These guys are great !! New exhaust flex pipe needed- no cost to look at my car and estimate was same as anywhere else. But I thought Weldon looked out for me really well- so I chose this Tuffy location to fix my car and inspect it for me. Thanks again Weldon- youre the best !!! I highly recommend anyone to use this Tuffy location.

Went in for an inspection. Had to wait 3 hours and then they tried telling me I needed $500 worth of work done. I did not took it to another shop and I passed my inspection. It was ridiculous.

Emory at the Azalea Ave location called me this morning to check to make sure my repairs were all fine. I was so surprised and appreciative. Everything was fine but the fact that he checked showed how this company goes above and beyond.

Tuffys took care of my auto needs in a swift, professional, and accurate manner. With three very courteous members on staff this morning, they made short work of the crowded waiting room, with the exception of one individual in a unique situation. I felt they priced the service fairly and will bring my vehicle here for any auto needs I cannot address myself.

This is one of the best place to take your car. The employees are cool and I always get my exhaust done at this place.

I went to get my shifter bushings replaced at a quoted price of 150 with my own parts so all I had to pay for was the labor which I ended up paying 315. Then I was told they had to get order another part for bushings so I had to wait a week but in the midst of me waiting apparantly my rims got scratched I have witnesses to verify condition of rims before I went to tuffy, I have a dent in a door that wasnt there before, and Im missing a power wire for my amplifier. I understand its a 1995 but I have been fully aware of the previous damage that was done on the car when purchased because I know what I had to replace. I DO NOT RECOMMEND USING THIS TUFFY FOR ANY SERVICE OTHER THAN AN OIL CHANGE.

BEFORE I GET HOME VALET LIGHT COME BACK ON. I GO BACK THE NEXT DAY AND THEY TELL ME THE PART $49 &THEY WILL CHARGE ANOTHER $189 TO PUT IT ON.I ASK THEM 1ST WHY WASNT I INFORMED THE PART WAS ONLY$49 WHEN YALL CHARGED ME $59 FOR A DIAGNOSTIC?THEN I ASK WHAT ABOUT THE $150 I SPENT YESTERDAY. THEY RESPOND THAT WAS FOR YESTERDAY. U GOTTA PAY AGAIN. I CONTACT CORPORATE OFFICE AND THEY TELL ME ITS A FRANCHISE AND THE OWNER or DISTRICT MANAGER WILL BE CONTACTING ME. THIS HAPPEN ON 5/29. ITS 6/15 & I HAVENT HEARD NOTHING FROM NOBODY EXCEPT THE BBB.. I TOOK THE CAR SOMEWHERE ELSE AND THE PART WAS $49 & LABOR WAS $20. THE SAME PART TUFFYS WANTED $269.00 TO DO.THE WIRE ON THE PART IS SHORTER THAN MY FINGER SO WHAT DID HE DO FOR THE $150? NOTHING. THIS GHETTO,SHOP AINT DOING NOTHING BUT TAKING ADVANTAGE OF CUSTOMERS. U WILL SEE THEM ON THE NEWS REAL SOON PRICE GOUGING CUSTOMERS. TELLING CUSTOMERS THEY NEED STUFF THAT THE DONT . Terrible place. Sorriest place I ever seen where after 9 months a person looks you up in the computer, finds your address and leaves a hand written note on your door as if he is your best friend. These people tried to rip me off for work that didn’t need to be done and than after 9 months, the freaks have the nerve to come leave a note on the back of a card and place it on my front door as if they are my best friend! EVERYONE watch out for these shady people, never know when anyone will look up your address and follow you home! I will be coming up to dispute with the business about this.

Went here to have brakes looked at, said i needed front rotors and brake pads,that my caliper was sticking...almost $900.00 in work, declined there service took it to BIG O on broad st.,said i needed a caliper bolt was bad, rotors and brake pads were fine, showed them to me in there shop....70.00 later awesome service...just need to go ahead and shut tuffys period,yall fraudsters....

Rob, the store manager was very friendly and helpful! They changed my headlight and went over and above to make sure everything was working smoothly with my car. I had been hearing a strange noise and they spent time with me to see if it was still occurring. I really appreciated their hospitality!

I went in for my state inspection. The staff was professional, timely, and friendly. The work required to pass inspection was completed within an hour. I was also provided with suggestions for some tune-ups based on what they found during the inspection. The man who helped me, Rob, even called me to let me know I left my water bottle behind. Overall, the most pleasant experience I have had at an auto shop!

I got state inspection done here’s. Inspector was available over weekend and its wasvery convenient for me to go over weekend. They completed inspection in an hour. I recommend others to try for sure.

Did great work on a timely manner

My experience was almost a tragedy but phenominal. The temperature was 40s. Even though the sun was shining, it was cold & windy. I was traveling-went to start my car & it clicked. After calling AAA, I was told that my starter was going. I had too far to risk being on the side of the road. I called Tuffys aporox 3:30p & asked if they could look @ my car. They told me to come by. I was greeted in a 1st class manner & the owner took my car right in. They had the part & repaired my car before they closed at 5:30p. They were AWESOME. I will recommend them to anyone at anytime. Thank u Tuffy for saving my trip.

I needed my car inspected that day and l mean that day !!!!! The sticker was over a month old and l didnt know until it was brought to my attention. I called late that evening to see if they could inspect it and they said sure. The car needed two things to be done to it, remind you it was already late almost closing time,but they were willing to stay late to get the job done.l thought that was going above and beyond.l didnt want them to have to stay late, so l decided to bring it back the next morning to get the work done. I absolutely would recommend Tuffy!!!!! The employees are very friendly and knowledgeable. I will be a regular customer now !

I always experience great customer service.I never feel like they are trying to get over on me. My husband and daughter bring their car to them as well. Rob is truly a wonderful manager. If I have any questions, he does his best to answer them. I started going to Tuffy 2 years ago. I was a very frustrated customer because of bad experiences in the past. I was driving up I95 when I noticed the low air indicator for my front tire came on. Not taking any chances, I immediately exited I95 and was fortunate enough to find Tuffy minutes off of the interstate. Sure enough, I had a screw in my tire. In less than 30 minutes, I was back on the interstate finishing my trip. Very reasonable price too. THANKS Tuffy!

Great staff and courteous. They are super busy, so if you need more than an oil change, better go in early. That is the only downside, but I guess that is a good thing. They also dont take advantage of people.

I was overdue for a state inspection. I had went to several places on a Friday morning and they told me that they could not assist me. When I walked into Tuffy Tire and Auto Service Center. I was immediately greeted and I was advised that they could inspect my car right away. I was in and out in less then 1 hour. Everyone there was so friendly, and they thanked me for taking good care of my car.

This place is way overpriced. Was told that my tire was loose but then when I mentioned I had a warranty, all of sudden I needed a wheel bearing replaced. RIP offs.

I have been going to this location for ab 4 months now and have had an excellent experience everytime i have been. The mechanics definitely know what they are doing and the managers have been very helpful at explaining exactly what is going on. Could not think of a better place to take my vehicles.

Got the best oil change, which topped off my fluids, rotated, and filled my tires. I was in and out in an hour. Staff was really friendly, knowledgeable, and helpful. They were great!

The people here are great! I went there to get a few things fixed so my car could pass inspection. The dealership was charging WAY more than necessary (standard issue), and these guys beat the price and did a great job! The manager Rob is really personable and definitely tries to go above and beyond for the customer. Definitely an honest business and I didnt feel ripped off (lots of mechanics prey on females thinking we no nothing about cars smh). Id come to this Tuffy over any of the other! Very helpful and very friendly! I went to get my brakes replaced after they gave out and made grinding noises and they walked me through what was going on with my brakes and how they went about fixing it. I went back to them after my brakes were getting worn out faster than they shouldve and they replaced the brakes for free and just asked me to check in a few weeks later! Really excited to find a good auto place after moving to the area!

This auto service should be called crookies not tuffys they charge me 450 for a wheel baron brakes and cv joint and one new tire for a total of 1060 dollars isaid hell no i should have sent a tow truck but i got it fixed and went on a plan that loans me money and i know they are connected like the underground mafia now i have to pay 32 percent interest my brother fixed my baron for only 30 dollars from auto zone smh dont go here unless you dont mind being robbed i give it theee stars because i had my tires changed properly on a different visit and it cost around 280 for 3 wheels
