Fantastic food and a great location. The Glassboat is a must-visit for anyone in Bristol. We got one of the taxi boats that pitches up just outside so its really easy and fun to get to. The Glassboat is literally on the water giving you amazing views. The food is fantastic with a focus on local produce. We went for the lobster and crab specials and they were too drawer. Very reasonable prices as well for you get. Couldnt recommended it more highly.

A bit on the fancier side, food is good but more expensive then Id like. The thing youre paying for is the view of the river.Ordered the boiler white prawns (terribly small especially on such a large plate), fish of the day, chips separately and scallops with two pints of beer/cider. Didnt realise there were pint and 1/2 pint sizes; they didnt ask and just gave us pints.Nevertheless the food was tasty and fresh and the bill totaled around £50 including 10% service charge.

Great location and ideal place for a romantic dinner. French cuisine finely cooked, staff very polite and prices medium-high but considering the location and food quality, I think they are fair. Bristol gin&tonic was delicious. Fresh fish well cooked and nice selection of cheeses, I would only recommend to serve cheese in a nicer and more appealing way. Anyway they tasted really nice. I would recommend it.

Many years since Ive been here. This was the go-to place in the 1980s financial services heydays. I brought many a client, insurance agent and even the occasional mistress to the restaurant - or anyone I wanted to impress.Business breakfasts were de rigour in the day and starting the working day with a salubrious early meal, usually augured a successful day.Although they no longer do breakfasts, the lunches are even better than remembered. Now with my wife (those halcyon days long passed) she enjoyed a ham hock patè starters and mussels in white wine main - I opted for a sublime tomatoe & Greek yogurt starter and a spicey chicken main. All this washed down with a well chilled Domains De Ménard 2015. Superb. The interior of the boat, once a barge lugging timber up the Severn, has had an agreeable makeover since my last visit, its more open now and the furniture is better. The service was convivial and attentive and behoves me not to leave it so long next time.

Last visited: 27/6/2017HEADLINESPremises: Restaurant with small bar on moored boat. Very clean. Good view of river.Staff: Excellent. Welcoming, friendly, polite, efficient. Very confident.Service: Very good.Menu: Good range of dishes, fixed price menu, good value for moneyFood: Excellent and hot food, warmed plates.DETAILAnother visit to this restaurant and it, again, lived up to the recommendation we had made to the friends who had joined us. Big windows on this moored boat gives you good views of this busy part of the river in Bristol. (Toilets are down steep stairway; small but very clean)From the phone call to book the table to the final goodbye after the meal the staff were genuinely welcoming, pleasant, efficient and helpful, aided by their confident knowledge of the menu. When food allergies were mentioned they dealt with it quickly, easily and confidently. The service throughout the meal was excellent and relaxed. The menu offered a good, small range at reasonable prices, enhanced by a fixed price 2 or 3 course menu with a reasonably good range of dishes but, understandably, not available in the evening.Portion sizes were sensible for all of our choices and all dishes were clean and well presented. Hot food was delivered on warmed plates. Good range of soft and alcoholic drinks. No J2Os here; good fruit juices instead.Chose from the Prix Fixe menu. Smoked trout rillettes for starters was delicious. The main course steak frites (£2 supplement) was a perfectly cooked small steak. A taste of the roast chicken with tarragon sauce showed that to be equally as good - the sauce was noteworthy. The chocolate mousse for dessert was like silk; making the whole meal worth the word excellent. With good value-for-money dishes and a lovely setting this is a must for the traveller visiting Bristol and a must try for locals.

Really really disappointed.Soggy fish that was over cooked and dry in the middle (nothing like the big crispy peace sorry that was displayed), oily fries and everything tasted like, coconut oil? (Which if it is the case needs to be advised better). Bland tartare sauce which is something quite impressive to do given that the ingredients involve lemon, capers and pickles. The mushy peas where okayish I guess.Paying £24.00 for something that when straight in the bin broke my heart. I truly thought this would be worth it but I don’t advised anyone to eat hear until some changes are made.I am sorry to write a review like this but I wish I had read one like this so I could have saved my money and our date night. The packaging and marketing where good.

Went for lunch Saturday 10th Oct.Nice place and friendly, helpfull staff.Slightly on the expensive side for what you get.I had the steamed mussels which were beautiful and a good size.I also had the smoked cods roe which was not as described on the menue.in fact its the menue that is the issue as it is devoid of detail or information. No indication of allergens, gluten or dairy free etc. No description of what the dish comprises. It doesnt say if there is anything comes with the food such as chips with the battered fish.I have IBS which is managable so when I ordered smoked cods roe its what I expected to get. What came was taramasalata which is a bit of roe mixed up with a lot of cream and served with bread as a dip. I shouldnt eat the bread (gluten) and cannot each much cream. I managed to eat it and it was very nice but not what was on the menue. Afterwards when I brought it up (no pun intended) with the waitress she said that someone else had said that recently!!!Likewise the mussels were stated as being steamed in cider. Maybe they were but they actually came as mules a la crem which is with a white wine (or cider maybe) mixed with cream and onions. Delicious but poison if you are dairy intolerant. They really should do so much better on descriptions in the menue before someone gets seriously ill. Customers cannot be expected to quizz the waitress on exactly what is in each dish before ordering and doubtful that she would know.

The restaurant was very elegant and with a great view. Helpful staff, although not entirely professional. However both the menu and especially the meals were quite the disappointment. Medium rare steak came so rare and chewy my partner couldt finish a quarter of it.
