The shop is easy to find. Wesley is professional and personable, great to talk with (I felt bad for talking to him while working, my old school sense of respect was kicking in). He was able to restring and tune my Floyd Rose equipped V faster and more precise than anyone Ive ever seen.Got home and hooked the guitar up to the amp and it sounded better than it ever has! Damn impressed!I mentioned Strings of Reno on Facebook and Twitter, now friends are asking for his number. Ive got other guitars and basses that need some work and Wesley is the only one Ill go to. Cant beat the prices, the atmosphere of the shop and the quality of work. Highly recommended.

I brought my acoustic bass in for a set up. I am very greatfull that he pointed out to me that my bridge was in jeopardy of breaking with its current set up. They treated me right over there and fixed the issue with my bass. The finished product was well worth the money

Awesome service here. I brought in my classical guitar which had a tuning/intonation problem that had bugged me for years. Wesley corrected it with a proper saddle replacement, and while he was at it, took care of some other conditioning issues. Now it plays and sounds just as good, or better, than it did the day I bought it twenty years ago.If you have a stringed instrument in need of anything from a tune-up to a more involved repair, this is the place to go. Wesley really knows his stuff and shows great attention to detail. Hes very conscientious about taking good care of your treasured musical instrument. Wesley is a stand up dude and did a fantastic set-up and saddle replacement. Great service, prices very reasonable and warranties his work. Made me love playing my Gibson Songwriter Deluxe again and Im pretty sure my wife hates Wesley now as Im constantly wanting to hold my guitar. Wesley is wonderful. I took in my guitar with a buzzing B string to get an estimate and set up an appointment for repair. Wesley identified the problem immediately and not only repaired it on the spot, he showed me how to do it myself the next time. I will definitely be back for any future repairs or maintenance. Wesley rocks! No matter the guitar I bring to him, he knows how to handle it. Hes provided expert setups on a Jazzmaster and a Jazz bass of mine, and soon, Ill be bringing a Rickenbacker 4003W in for him.He always has a solution to any issue that may arise, and he doesnt immediately offer an expensive fix; in fact, sometimes hell recommend something thats completely free. I really appreciate that in a business.Dont waste your time and money anywhere else... go to Wesley with all your stringed needs!

I just can’t say enough good things about Wesley! From day one, he has blown me out of the water with delivering the rockstar quality I look for, with a working mans prices. He set up every guitar I own and I wouldn’t have it any other way.Recently had my American Start set up by him and I’m blown away with the sonic difference he got from just a few adjustments here and there.He also worked on my Gretsch semi hollow body guitar, we put in Bustbucker Pro pick ups, replaced everything part of the guitar that wasn’t wood.Wesley worked for Gibson and brings so much to the table, is as friendly to get stuff done with as a neighbor.

He seems very knowledgable, people with guitars gave him great reviews, and I have no complaints about his work- my high G was replaced with a low G and he installed the button for my strap. No complaints there.But, I felt like he was trying to upsell me the entire time I was there- a friend who makes custom ukes for $2k, a local business that sells ukes for $400-$500, and saying he can replace 2 parts of my uke for nearly $200 to improve the sound quality. Dude, Im a millennial just trying to pay off my student loans, youre barking up the wrong tree. My entire ukulele + case was $85. He also didnt tune my ukulele correctly when he finished replacing the low G to the high G, so I had to re-tune 2 of the 4 strings when I got home. I probably wont be going back there. The upselling thing was not okay. And I kinda wished he replaced all 4 strings like I had initially suggested instead of just replacing my high G.

I wish I could explain in great detail the kind of magic that happens when you work with Wes, but it is honestly something you have to experience firsthand. Ive never EVER seen or felt work this perfect. With several years of experience working with Gibson, having any and all Gibson hardware/parts available for installation, and all Gibson pickups in stock, Wes, and his shop, are ideal for serious musicians. Youre making a bad call if you arent getting your stuff worked on here, ESPECIALLY you other Gibson players. He really went above and beyond for me.PS: His prices are extremely fair, and hes a delight to be around.

Im an older woman and totally new to all this. Wesley changed my strings, cleaned my guitar, showed me why the tuner he sold me is so much better than the app on my phone-he was SO right-and showed me how to change the strings myself, all without talking down to me. Respect and great service much appreciated.

Very helpful and welcoming, when I first came into the store I was helped immediately and when I asked for a restringing of my guitar, they immediately put me with their specialist, and I was out of the store within 15 minutes with a very clean restring job.

Just had my Martin guitar refretted by Wesley at Reno Guitar Repair, and man, he did a wonderful job. He also performed a complete set up with new tuners and nut & saddle . Couldnt be happier. Looks beautiful and more importantly, sounds better than new. It has a wonderful bright sound now. Wesley is a real craftsman!!

Wesley did an awesome job on my Takamine guitar. Fixed errors that the last Shop in the Bay area messed up on. Fixed the frets that were out of alignment and replaced the nut and bridge. Action is awesome as well. Wesley is a true professional. So great to have someone to work on my guitars.He cleaned up my big baby Taylor and added a pre-amp to it so I can plug in and play it as a backup.He also fixed my loose jack on my nylon guitar.All top notch work.If you want something done right, take it to Wesley!

Wesley built a guitar for me and corrected finish defects I had not noticed. He also adjusted the action on my travel instrument. The man is a restoration/repair artist. I highly recommend the shop . Looking forward to having work done here in the future.
