I didnt check everything out, but they had a good selection of records. I got a Ric Ocasek record called Beatitude that I didnt know existed among other albums. I didnt by a record player since they didnt have speakers to sell with them. A guy there gave me his business card and said I can check back in for when speakers come in. If I lived in Reno I would take him up on the offer. They also have posters, cds & other music related items for sale.

The owners are very cool and helpful. I hadnt been in there in years and I felt right at home. Great selection of vinyl.

Really cool place, very chill, huge selection. Prices are good, seem a little high on a few things but overall worth it. Can be a little hard to find what you are looking for but half the fun is searching through the stuff. Grabbed 3 records as a gift for a friend and paid $17, which felt more than fair. Location is nice right in midtown with a lot of other fun stuff within walking distance. Midtown is a hassle to park in but once you find a spot everything is very walkable. We were able to snag road parking right across the street.

Great location and great selection. They have a little bit of everything, though most of their vinyl seems to be vintage 80s or older. Lots of new stuff too, just not like at some record stores which regularly stock newly pressed vinyl. Location is in a trendy part of midtown with lots of restaurants nearby. Great way to spend an afternoon.

Super cool, laid back place any audiophile would love! Tons of records, cds, cassettes, (not sure about 8 tracks tapes) and dvds. The staff was totally chill and ready to help if needed. Great prices. Cant wait to get my vinyl collection started and this is absolutely where I will start! Definitely support this business people, we dont want to see amazing musicians and the mediums they began on go the way of the dodo! Streaming is convenient and all, but there is something that gives a deeper satisfaction to the soul when you have the music literally in your hands. Its a beautiful thing.

Cds are now a dying commodity an older friend of mine was looking for CDs they have a big selection of CDs tapes records and used movies. I found Pinocchio for $5 bucks and CDs are $6 each. If your looking for things like that its a great place.

Lots of great music of all types. Didnt find everything I was looking for. Forgot until I left that I have been here multiple times long ago. Even had people out in the parking lot waiting for me to come out in the parking lot nextdoor. Kind of a sad world we live in. At least they had some great music there.

Huge selection. Knowledgeable staff. Great prices. I visit each time I come to Reno. Ive found some good pieces for my collection here. Layout is a little odd due to the size of the store...rock l.p.s split up so the Os end on one side then when you go across to the other side, the dont immediately resume. But hey, you can stop to browse the Soul and New Wave sections!!!Mid Town has been re-done, so the parking lot next door is only accessible one way and is currently $2/hr.Keep up the awesome work and keep buying so theres always new stuff to dig for!

The place is so packed and there is no room to maneuver. There prices are high as well. I got 4 full seasons of one of my favorite dramas for $3.50. And all used DVDs for $1.00.

Rude staff. Saw them rudely treat several customers.. They act like they are too good and too cool to be bothered by any customers and customers should know how great a privilege it is to be treated badly by such a stuckup staff!

Good deals with very chill atmosphere and friendly staff. It was our first time record shopping and they were very patient with us browsing forever in addition to helping us find a couple of specific artists. Everything was very organized and had signs clearly indicating each section. Definitely plan to return!

Very Poor Customer Service! I went in one day to spend a lot of money to re-build my CD collection. The long White bread behind the counter was just plain rude ..so I left and will never grace their doors again.

Rude Staff. Act like they are bothered whenever a customer comes in and are irritated to have to talk to customers. I watched their interactions with several people. They did not even look up when approached with a question and even acted put out when someone wanted to buy something.

One of those must see record stores in Reno. The selection is fabulous. Aside from records and CDs, they have a large cassette tape selection! I even bought a reel to reel tape there.The records I have picked up have been in great condition. Ive never put a record back on the shelf because of its condition, which is more than I can say for a lot of record stores.Lastly, the staff is really cool and conversative, playing cool music all the while. Its even a cool place to hang out if thats what youre after.Ill make sure to visit every time Im in Reno!

This place is great! Went with friends looking for a gift for their son and we had a lot of fun looking through all the vinyl. We eventually remembered who we were actually supposed to be shopping for and selected a couple great albums to start his vinyl collection. It kinda made me want to get a turntable. They have tons of records, new and old. Ill definitely be back to rummage through their selection and say hi to their friendly, helpful staff.

Neat shop with a cool location and even live music, but Ive got to say Im sort of disappointed in the music selection. Rap and r&b seem to be a particular soft spot in their library and while vinyl is exceptionally well represented but if you want anything other than rock and roll on cassette tape or 8 track youre unfortunately hosed.In their defense the CD selection seems to be better, but I find music on optical media to be unfulfilling.

I love this place! Not only can you go there and find every kind of record for your Christmas turntable gift, you can also bring in your 8-tracks, cassettes, 45/78 and 33 1/3 vinyls and they will give you a credit...if what youve brought in is of value. They get 5⭐ rating from me!!!

Big selection of vinyls. Records are well divided into genres. Prices are just OK and the guy there was very helpful and nice. Worth the visit, for sure!

I have bought some great gems at this store and passed on a couple of other overpriced ones too. You need to really search for treasures and you may get lucky. I also recommend visiting your local thrift stores for vintage vinyls and CDs. Happy hunting.

Great place to hang out! It was so fun visiting here with my two small children who had never seen a 45 record, an 8-track tape or cassette tapes in their life. I wanted to show them the joy of looking through albums and checking out album art like I experienced as a kid. They got a total kick out of this place. Found some cool old music. The staff was super friendly and the store was very well organized.

Decent selection? Not really.Decent location? Well, its in the hip part of town these days.Decent prices? Not too bad.Helpful staff? Not even close. Theyre hip, theyre cool, theyre too good for you--or so they act. Ive been hitting Recycled Records off and on since their early days on Wells Ave. and the one thing that has never changed is the attitude of the employees. If you ask for help be prepared to be talked down to if not just outright insulted. I still go in a couple times a year but never interact with the cool kids and hipsters that run the show. Im an old fat man. What could I know about music? Right?

7/25/2017I was horrified and saddened by my treatment today at Recycled Records. I cannot speak to their record sales but was hopeful when I was told over the phone that they could help me replace the needle on my turntable. It did not seem to be a simple cartridge replacement or I would have done it myself.On coming into the store, one employee set my turntable down on a pile of records and started working at trying to remove the old needle. I gestured for him to be a little more careful because one of the tiny nuts that held on a tiny bolt had fallen off. He ignored me and kept trying to wrestle it apart while saying that most are a cartridge and just pop off. Another man came over and thought he could work it out and when I pointed out the tiny part which was about to fall to the ground, he ignored me and kept trying to force the needle off the arm.It was then that I noticed one of the two nuts was already missing and when I mentioned it I was told that it was never there! At this point they put my turntable back in the box I had brought, told me they couldnt help me and gave me a card for another business.Not only did they not help me, but they made things worse and were incredibly rude!This company is an institution in Reno and has been around as long as I can remember, but apparently customer care and service are not on their menu. The three men who treated me so poorly should be ashamed of themselves !!

I have no clue what store the previous grousing reviewers shopped at, but it must not have been this one. I found the staff to be super friendly, knowledgeable and helpful. The selection was reasonably priced and there was tons of buried treasure if youre willing to dig. I found a couple of albums Ive been looking for for a long time, and a couple of other rare gems too. I could have easily spent 2 more hours there, but had to go. This is a real deal, old school record store. Renos lucky to have it. Will definitely stop back in when Im in Reno again. Thanks!

I like to kick it old school, I dont trust digital media, so Ill pop into Recycled Records and get a few cds at a time. I love wandering through the shelves and finding new music, new artists Ive never heard before, and chatting with the guys. My only complaint is that sometimes it can be hard to find the artist youre looking for depending on what genre theyve been put into, but then the staff all know where everything is so it never takes long. Long live local!

Staff are always helpful as well as down for a chat on music. And if you just want to dig, they totally get it and well let you do your thing. My shortest trip averages an hour or so! Great record shop.
