My sister takes me there whenever I go visit her in Reno.i love the store,I find everything I need.

An adequate and fresh grocery section. The freshly prepared meals such as the tacos from the cocina were delicious, authentic, and a great value. The bakery is good, but I found some of the products a bit dry. The staff is friendly. Great prices for the center of Reno.

Neighborhood store. Serving the South Wells Neighborhoods. Very friendly, large produce section, a large meat counter a bakery, a smaller than average grocery store but more than adequate. They also serve hot food to go although today they were closed for remodeling. They just added 4 spaces in the parking lot for curbside pickup. They seem very customer oriented and there is rarely more than two or three people waiting to checkout. Years ago this was an IGA Grocery store. There was never more than three or four people there at any time. When Marketon took over it was immediately busy. Marketon has definitely improved the neighborhood.

I love the prices on the Produce however the cashiers are not friendly. I dont care who you or where you are from. We all have heartbeats and if you choose to be in Customer Service, and take my hard earned money? You better at least say hello. These cashiers dont do that at all. Its like customers are a bother.

The only reason I still shop here is for their unique variety of food. The guys behind the meat counter are always very friendly. However the cashiers and their supervisor or manager have poor customer service skills, like to yell,and are rude to us every time were there

Ok b so here is the deal with this place its a little seedy and from what Ive seen you can get better deals anywhere else EXCEPT FOR THE FRUIT SALES.I look for the ad that is sent out every week on Wednesday, sometimes Tuesday, to find out what the weekly fruit sale is. There is an all week sale and there is also a Wednesday / Thursday fruit super sale~ I have gotten 6lbs of navel oranges for $1 from that sale.... eating fruit is good for you, eating foods that are good for you is COSTLY, there is no excuse for skipping fruits and veggies when this place has the sales it does.

Do not buy the meat here!!!! They sold us rancid pork. It was absolutely disgusting. We did not realize it until we had opened the packaging and it was awful. You are better off buying your meat at a local carniceria or even Walmart. STAY AWAY FROM THE MEAT.

The cake they sold us for my sisters birthday was old and had mold.

I am a repeat client. I love their cooked food esoecially desserts. This place is my go-to.

Place was nasty there fresh bread had flys all over it the green ones prices were ridiculously high service was terrible I will never go back so not go there

Fruits and veggies were old. Everything is expensive and there where flies rooming all throughout the baked bread.

No organic food if any kind. Some fruit and vegetables at good prices.

Who doesnt like Mexican food flan and chocolate cake is one of my favorites!

They have one of best chopped meat in Reno.

What others have said about the staff is true. theyre not like if you go Raleys or something. but theyre probably makingg half the $. I come here specifically because you can get lots of stuff for way cheaper than the big stores. yeah its kind of dirty but if your saving a bunch of money on things like pork chops or whatever its worth it. i like marketon and will come back.

We been going here for years. They always have great deals on produces. Their pan dulce and cakes are awesome. Havent tried the food. But! The people who works there can be a bit snobby, it hasnt stopped me from going back unless something happens.

Expired foods, rude employee, and I got extremely sick from a tamale at the hot food section.Store looks dirty and smells funny. Good selection on cuban items and they have good prices and selections on produce

We find here a lot of vegetables and herbs that we dont easily find at other big stores. The store is relatively smaller but packed. Sometimes they have good deals on fruits and vegetables like a few pounds for a dollar. Sometimes we find some items ridiculously expensive though. We have to stop there once a week or every two weeks.

Not great. The air conditioning was the best part. The clerk charged me for 5 jugs of milk when I had only purchased 3. Glad I noticed before she was finished ringing me up. Also, no, they dont have dry ice, which they advertised. Not going back.

Happy cheerful atmosphere with a wide variety meet deli and bakery.

Great place to get those hard to find ethnic spices! If youre looking to make some authentic Mexican/Hispanic food this is the place to go. Parking lot definitely could use a refinish and maybe a new coat of paint, as the place looks a bit rundown. Keep in mind there are usually some homeless people right outside the entrance, may want to come with some dollars to help some people out.

They have a good selection of fruits, vegetables and meats. Some prices are a bit higher than the big box stores, but for a local market in downtown Reno, its better than the quick in/out stores.The staff is friendly as well.

When they have sales I love to shop here Also, I can get vegetables, fruit, laundry essentials, pastries, breakfast items at prices that doesnt break my bank. The employees are professional, courteous, friendly and very helpful. I give them a big thumbs up 👍

Okay, usually I love this place for their great deals and great tasting and helpful Deli... Today I picked up some items from the deli and vegetables, Im cooking chicken thighs right now and later I will make tacos etc... I was also trying to find soda that was on sale come to find out they didnt have the diet coke just regular Coke... I asked the girl that check me out if the coke deal had to do with diet or regular Coke she said I dont know under her breath, I then saw some Diet Coke in the front of the store, I asked her how much is that she mumbled something so I went and picked it up and gave it to her to scan and it was too much and I just cant believe this girl had no idea what was going on or just didnt want to help me or didnt care didnt talk... That seems to be the way of customer service nowadays with pretty much everybody nobody cares anymore... This Girl had glasses and was kind of mousey

Very good Mexican market. Great deals on produce and meats. I dont buy much else because its over priced compared to most local stores. A kooky array of clientele as well... from homeless to the average house mom.

Everytime I go into this store, I get dirty looks and Im racial profiled. I lived in this neighborhood for 6 years and Im beyond sick of the treat. I have a right to shop in this store just like anyone else. Im an African American. I dont disrespect anyone. My money is green just like anyone else. Im so sick of the treatment. Even the manager was nasty to me. He followed me all over the store. Its not right. This should stop.!! Also, the customers are just as rude. Im treated like Im not suppose to shop here, like I dont belong! I dont disrespect anyone of you in this store, I dont deserve to be disrespected either😠😣

Best Latino grocery in town. Great produce selection and meats. Pan dulce selection is good and always fresh.

This was my first visit to Marketon, A friend brought me. I was impressed at the variety of fruits and vegetables and the prices were great. One of the first things that struck me was the cleanliness of the store. I have an expectation that food vendors maintain a high standard of cleanliness and Marketon hit the mark shall we say.Great selection of beers, delli looked deliciouse, all the meats appeared fresh and well displayed and the staff was helpful.

This store is okay for a small city mexican store not in a South Western State or California. Las Vegas had Cardenas and if you are expecting that, please don’t. This store is about the quarter of the size. But for the most part it’s what you expect. The red meat is kinda overpriced, the chicken is pretty affordable. Have not had the fish yet, it doesn’t look appealing. I love that they always have napales, wish the selection was larger. They have all the dried chili’s needed for tamales. If you need a ingredient for Southern America’s food, they will probably have it.If you are a person who only speaks one language like myself, respect goes a long way with speaking to the staff here. They speak broken english and spanish so they at least no more than one language unlike most Americans. My ginger white boy friend has no problem with the tiny spanish he knows well shopping there. But that’s with every exotic food store in America. But most intelligent Americans know that.

Sorry if I am blunt on reviews, but I am honest and tell it as I see it...Two stars only because of selection of produce, otherwise, it is a one.Ive been several times, eaten their cooked food and tried several items of Mexico origin. (Love the REAL Coca Cola).Otherwise, I am not sure how this Marketon passes health and safety inspections. Aisles are narrow and cluttered causing me to dodge other (sometimes RUDE) customers. The meat selection is messy and a little scary because even though prices are low, the meat looks awful. Across from bulk meat is a deli. Ceviche, guacamole etc, sold in bulk and made on the premises. They are behind glass in fish-tank type of containment and look VERY unsanitary. Made daily? Highly doubtful that they could sell that much raw fish goulash in one day. Trying to ask any question in English is difficult if not impossible.Cooked, or prepared foods are greasy and overpriced. And sadly, you can see where the food is prepared. Ive worked in Mexico for weeks at a time for years and never saw a kitchen look so bad. Stay away!Overall, I always felt uncomfortable in Markaton as the minority. Unwelcome, talked down to, etc.Ja, Im of the white minority in Reno now. My apologies, but I lived here first.BTW. (~) ;=}

This place has some good deals, the only thing I dislike is when I buy produce and weight it; I go to pay and the riweig is more, when I try to tell them, they insist that I weighed it wrong or that I was probably reading the oz. Instead of lbs. So just keep in mind that what you weight and what they weigh will be different.

Alot of the employees are so rude. I went to purchase well over $100 worth of food which I already had in my cart. I then wanted to buy a couple of burritos. The women clearly ignored me and went to two people behind me in line. I guess they didnt like that I didnt speak Spanish. When they looked at me strange and started laughing among themselves, I just left my cart and walked out. I or anyone in my family, or friends will never shop there again. Furthermore, I will be contacting a manager to complain. Ridiculous!!

I only go there for the produce which is very cheap. Much of their stuff is a bit old or heat damaged, so enjoy the prices, but shop carefully.

If i could put 0 stars i would!! I bought some gerbers here at marketon and i didnt check the dates . One day i noticed my daughter super sick i took her to the hospital and im finidng it was the gerbers i bought here that were expire since 2017!! I used to work for this storee and they erase prices with nail pokish remover and they sell them cheaper for the people to buy... check dates when you buy here peoplee
