Mix Bakeshop has been on my go to list for some time now. Still havent had the chance try the pies. So this review is for the cupcakes.First of all, at $3.75 /cupcake, you hope your getting your money worth. I did!! These are not your store bought cupcakes guys.I intentionally got various flavors to test the accuracy... and yes, all were just as delicious.Carrot cake being my favorite.Secondly, I came in as a walk-in on a Saturday afternoon. I wasnt sure they would cater to walk ins since I know they they get pretty booked this time of year with pie orders. I appreciated that they had their display case fairly stocked for us random last minute customers.In conclusion, I recommend Mix Bakeshop and will be back as a regular customer of both cupcakes and pies when the occasion calls for it. Dear Mix,Thank you for encouraging the woman who wouldnt wear a mask to visit a different bakery. I stopped by on my way home after a very long shift as a nurse. I was personally offended by some of the things that came out of her mouth, but too exhausted and stunned to say anything at the time. Im proud of you for holding your ground despite her threats of suing you for discrimination,” which rapidly escalated to screaming about communists.The Great Pumpkin cupcake was delicious. Not too heavy, so I dont regret inhaling the whole thing. 😆

I’ve probably only reviewed three places on Google but I wanted to review mix because some of the negative reviews had me hesitant about trying it, but now I have gone four times and at this point have tried all of their cupcakes and they’re delicious! I’ve never experienced a dry cupcake or one that I didn’t love. The biggest surprise to me was how much I love the banana cupcake! Highly recommend!

Dangerously delicious! No matter what the occasion is you’re sure to find just the right sweet treat at Mix. I’ve drooled over the darling sugar cookies but their pies are our family’s favorite. I am married to a “pie guy” and our daughter worked at a bakery in New York so we are used to good pies. Mix pies are perfect. The Jack Skellington pie is the cutest fall treat - and perfect for my husband’s October birthday. They usually make it with “jumbleberry” filling but because of my allergies to raspberries and blackberries I custom order it with cherry pie filling. It’s amazing!!!

The owner may have delicious sweet treats but that is the only sweet she has! Always urgently hiring because she is an extremely rude employer! Very condescending attitude towards employees! Literally rips baking equipment from your hands whilst huffing and puffing at your incompetence. Lady, we were only following your instructions. Maybe you are the incompetent one! A suggestion, be a kinder, patient person! Best of luck to you.

I purchased the coconut custard with chocolate ganache pie for a birthday party, unfortunately, it was not a hit. The custard wasn’t custard, it was more gelatin, almost like a jelly filled donut consistency. It was disappointing, especially for $23. I do not recommend.

Worked at mix Bakeshop 5 weeks. Mix is a mess. Oweners manage, bake, delivery goods. The environment is toxic one owner absolutely hates her works, and will in no uncertain terms let you know. She was rude, and unprofessional. I would never recommend bakery goods from there it needs cleaning and organizing.

I came in for some Harry Potter sugar cookies that my friend had recommended. I was pleasantly surprised by the huge selection of treats they had. I ended up buying 3 of the decorated sugar cookies and they tasted great--almond flavored I think. They also gave me a teacher discount which was very kind!

I purchased mini pies, 5 different flavors, for a wedding. Everyone raved about how delicious they were. I personally had the banana cream and it was amazing. I highly recommend.

My favorite best part of a pie is the crust. This pie tonight was lacking a quality crust. Thin and powdery.

I had the Funny Bunny Carrot Cake muffin. It was delish!!! Going back again next week for the oatmeal raisin cookie sandwich.

Tried this place because of all the good reviews. Purchased 6 cupcakes for around $25. The cupcakes were very dry, crumbly, and the flavors were off (got chocolate, yellow cake, red velvet, and lemon). Same yuck with the frosting, which had no flavor and tasted kind of like fondant. Threw them all in the trash. Wont go there again for anything. Its a shame Reno doesnt have a specialty cupcake shop.

Mix cupcakes did the cupcakes for our wedding and they were a HUGE hit. We had the chocolate peanut butter, strawberry, lemon, and vanilla. Chocolate peanut butter was gone so fast! My favorite was the strawberry, but they were all fabulous. We got the mini cupcakes which were perfect - people ate approx 2-3 each. Price was very reasonable. Great service, and they looked so pretty too - even after the trek to South Lake Tahoe! I could not be happier. Wish I lived closer so I could eat them again!

$$$ But well worth it the pies, cupcakes and cookies are artfully created and always live up to your expectations. Go there for a special treat and you will never be disappointed. If you cant wait to get them home enjoy them at one of the small bistro tables provided.

Their cupcake are scrumptious and their pies, well... I may have gotten many a friend addicted to them. I most especially adore their cookie decorating classes!!! You get to take home plenty of cookies (so you definitely get to taste them as well)!

We got cookies and they were very good. The girl that was helping us was nice, but I forgot her name. I will never buy a pie from this place because $20-$25 for a pie is outrageous.

Best pies and cupcakes on the planet and service beyond all expectations. When my salted caramel holiday pie (SO DELICIOUS!) needed a little fix, their elves kindly delivered caramel sauce to my house on Christmas Eve (surely their busiest day of the year) at no charge and with much holiday cheer. A model of good business practices... and did I mention the beautifully decorated and outrageously delicious pies, cupcakes, and cookies? Love the delivery option and easy online ordering. This place used to be good, so not sure what happened. Considering its nearly impossible to get to right now with California closed youd think any customers walking in would make them happy. Nope, apparently coming in to buy something is just disrupting their work in the back, so customer service is out the window now.Get the cupcakes home and sadly their not what we remembered. Not a single person finished their cupcake, rest just went in the garbage. Complete disappointment in what used to be a good local bakery.

My new weekly indulgence / addiction... love the mini pies and cookies are heavenly! The only drawback is that its a little pricey. My only suggestion is to offer a slight discount for buying half a dozen.

Couldnt be happier with the service. I called from out of town, at the last minute, the day before I needed a delivery of a dozen assorted cupcakes for a friend in Reno. The call was quick and pleasant, the price for the cupcakes was reasonable, the delivery fee was quite low. Best of all, the feedback was that the cupcakes were delicious!Thank you!!!

Loved the banna cream pie I ordered. I cant get over how perfect the pie crust was too. Just the best taste and deliciously flaky. Also had a vanilla cupcake; it was good but a little dry for my taste.

We were coming from out of state and ordered a cake for a friends birthday. We sent pictures on what to put on the cake. Picked up the cake and the pictures were so horrid I was ashamed to present the cake. Furthermore, I was expecting the cake to at least taste good given being a baker doesnt necessarily make you a sculpt artist...wrong, the cake tasted like an old mattress. Oh, and the icing was so thick and pretty much rubbery. I say this to say, you may want to look elsewhere for custom cakes. They may be good with the other things they make but I had a horrible experience given the price of the cake. 2/10 would not recommend.

This is a shame as I absolutely LOVE these cupcakes but I ordered cupcakes to surprise my daughter at the Air Guard in Reno and I had to call back an hour after I was told they would be there and the woman told me they hadnt left yet. Not very professional.

My last visit was friendly. Driving through a storm on a Christmas Eve day to pick up a pie. GOOD PEOPLE.

Ive purchased three pies from here, the Jumbleberry, pecan and lemon chess. The website is easy to use, they were ready on time and the people inside pleasant. The Jumbleberry was delicious, crust was flaky and tasty and the filling sweet and tart and filled with a delicious medly of berries. The pecan tasted wonderful, crust slightly different but still flavorful and flaky while the filling was gooey, full of pecans with just a hint of bourbon.My one issue and the reason for a missing star in this review was the lemon chess. I love lemon flavored things and I was beyond excited about this pie, however it was very disappointing. The crust was too salty and crumbly, not flaky, the filling was gritty not smooth but the worst part was the utter lack of lemon flavor. It was just an overly sweet, gritty goo that if I had blind taste tested it I would have never guessed lemon.Dont let one bad pie stop you from visiting here though, it wont stop me. I understand things happen, overall this is a good place and I love supporting local businesses so if youre in need of good pies from good people, this is your place.

Paid $25 for a salted caramel apple pie that was all salt. I think someone screwed up when making it and used salt instead of sugar on the apples. I will try other things there, but i am done with pie.

This place has the best pies and cupcakes but terrible serve. Not sure if the person who helped me just had a bad day or what but I will always come here cause the cupcakes are amazing!!
