I’ve been I have been coming to the store for over a year today is the first day that there was not somebody of a minority working and I was told that my stuff was not clean enough and smell like fish and embarrassing for the entire store I will never ever take my stuff to the store again I would rather donate my stuff and have people get it for free then deal with a store that treats customers that have been coming there for so long this way Susie was completely disrespectful and unprofessional over the phone with my issue because I had my child in my arms I did not? They were saying the store and how I felt as far as being embarrassed but based on what they were saying because my clothes had been washed and pulled out of storage and washed again once again this is not a store I recommend shopping at if you support local owners I recommend you donate your stuff

My wife contacted them to sell a Peg Prego $900 stroller system we had, was told they can only offer 120-150 for it, makes sense as they need to make their profit, she agreed...took the time to go there to bring it in, the young lady (extremely cold and unprofessional) tells her (after we overheard her telling her colleague wow, these are very expensive ) turns to my wife and tells her she will give her $43...... we were shocked.... I told her Ill donate it to a family in need and get more as a write off..... we werent even greeted farewell..... Pawn shops make this place look good ....

Next time you want to talk about someone just seeing what they can get out of all the things have bought to get a little return for them, make sure not to talk about them while they are still in the store waiting!!! And if they are waiting, give them more info dont just write them off because now I am never coming in there again!!! I was not trying to get a big return and if you wanted me to take it and re-wash it for you thats a reasonable thing to ask but communicate with your customers and donot whisper about them. Its very expensive being a parent and everybodys just trying to do their best!!!!!

Have been to the store twice now and everyone is nice and friendly. I saw there were comments about them not giving a fair price and being picky about the items they buy but I feel it’s nice to get a little cash to buy more for my grandchild. Otherwise I’m taking all clothes to other thrift stores who prices are higher now that the demand is up. I would sell and buy from them again!

Great selection of used clothes (preemie to 20 years), toys, books and equipment but add at least an hour onto the time they say itll take to review and buy your items. I was told it would take an hour, but it took well over two!

I have purchased numerous items here and everything is clean and nice, never looks used. Very impressed with the customer service and how helpful they are. I would highly recommend this store.

I dont recommend selling baby clothes here there stingy and make up lies about the clothes you bring in so that they dont have to pay you nearly as much and then they sell the tiny bit of clothes you did sell for more then what they give you.There cheap and rude yes there clothes are good prices but dont talk down to people and do not treat parents who are just trying to get by like they have no sense and like your above them thats really not ok

It is not worth my time to consign here. I had two large totes of children’s clothes in pristine condition. I waited over an hour for them to get and go through the items I brought to consign. In the end I received $29 and about 60% of the clothes returned to me.I may be convinced to buy some rare items there, but it’s a waste of time to consign. Some of their items (cribs, toys, mobiles) are not much cheaper than to buy new.

If I could give this store less I would. I try to give it a chance every so often. I brought in Patagonia, snow jackets, a Harley Davidson leather jacket, Patagonia under layers. I was treated rudely. No one could be bothered. And after they looked through they decided 30 dollars was fair. When they alone would sell that leather Harley Davidson jacket for 50. Joke. I get it’s a thrift store. But I’d give away my children’s old clothes before selling to them ever.

I love this place! You can buy children’s clothes toys books for a few dollars ! Kids grow fast and best place to be on a budget and have nice clothes for your kids :)

This place is awesome! They had a sale where you fit as much as possible into a plastic bag, and the cost of the bag was $10. We were able to roll clothes in rubber-bands, and walked away with a huge savings! I also like that they buy back your baby items.

I was very excited to check out the new location and was very hopeful as at the previous one the staff was often rude, unhelpful, and generally unhappy, seeming bothered by everything they had to do.I was pleased to be greeted by a very friendly staff member who offered to help me with anything I may need.I found exactly what I was looking for and went to the register to check out. There I was greeted by a very tiny girl with pin-straight brown hair in a ponytail. She was friendly enough, but was busy chatting with the other employees, not paying attention at all. I gave her the exact change in coins and $5 in a paper bill over the amount I owed. She absent mindedly threw the change in her drawer (all while continuing to talk to the other associates... even stopping to turn around, away from me, to continue her conversation) and then tried to short change me. When I tried to correct her, she scoffed at me and insisted that she counted the money. I told her that I know what I gave her and made her give me the correct change. To this, her response was to become even more childish and rude and scoff again and start to talk about me and make comments to the other employees as I was leaving.I really dont understand how this is allowed to go on...to have an employee be so disrespectful to your customers, utterly flippant about your cash register, and just overall not only totally unaccountable for, but completely unappreciative of her job.I am so disappointed by my experience here. How dare anyone treat a customer like this anywhere? I wouldve been fired immediately if I ever treated a customer like this anywhere I worked when I was younger. Its absurd how people act these days.The new store looks great, but I will only shop there if I have to from here on out. I have no interest in being treated this way over someones inability to pay attention/count change.

Kinda pricey for used items.

We gave this place a chance three times. My sister in law recommended that we bring our kids clothes and do trade ins periodically. The first time they said the clothes we wanted to trade had a “smell.” The second time we washed them and they went straight from the dryer to their store and they still said they had a smell. Then, this time today, I inspected each and every item. I smelt each and every item. Some items had tags on them, there were several large fluffy dresses from my daughter that we’re worn once and they still said that they “needed to be cleaned.” The used clothes were all freshly cleaned by our housekeeper. The box looked like it hadn’t been touched when they gave it back to us.Not to mention for used clothes it’s kind of expensive.So, yea... not going back. I’m going to donate the new clothes with tags to foster kids and the rest to a thrift store. I recommend you do the same and use coupons at Kohl’s because it’s the same cost anyway.

This place is the bomb! I like to go here when they’re having one of their sales! Their prices without the sale isn’t bad at all especially for gently used clothes but I like to go when they’re even lower. Sometimes it’s a hit and miss but with prices so low on Tote Bag Tuesdays you really can’t go wrong. They also have their $1 clearance, and 50-90% off sales. It’s hard to gauge sometimes because if you go at the end they’ll be picked through already. So, if you are specifically looking for something go ahead and take a peek at their sales but most likely the prices will go down on the clearance items. The tricky part is will it still be there for you when the prices really drop!? I like this place and recommend it for all families to check it it out!-MM

This place is a joke they do not price there items correctly. They pay low if they are wanting to buy your items for themselves and there very unprofessional. I had to buy a uniform for my daughter one day before school started, we went to a lot of stores and the pants were 15.00 -25.00 well I couldnt afford that. We went to old navy and they were on sale for 10.00 so I bought 2 pairs . It took my daughter 1 hr to find her size, later in the day we needed to buy a light blue uniform shirt we stopped at once upon a child and when you come in they had a big rack of uniform pants shorts and shirts and in less then 10 min I found 2 pants,1 skirt,and 1 shirt for 15.00 . My daughter and I were so happy we went back to old navy and returned the pants . I should have went to Once A Upon A Child long time ago.

Coupon says 50% off regular priced items. Get to register and only took 50% off every other item and the cheapest ones. False advertising at its best. Ill never shop there again. Most prices are to high for used items. What a joke.

I hate to give this place only 1 star because it is a great store to get the things you need for your children. However, I just cant understand how any store that is designed for, and caters to, parents of young children, infants, & newborns doesnt have a changing station in the bathroom!?!? Ive seen them on Amazon for less than $140 and installing one would go a long way to show the customers that you care.

I love shopping for my daughter here. The staff is friendly, the prices are great, and their selection is awesome. I bought 7 sleepers with brand new tags last time that would have retailed for 30$ each for less than 10$ each... completely worth it. We also have purchased an entire set up for the babysitters house for a fraction of what it would have cost new. We have started selling those pieces back to the store so now I feel like I only rented the items and dont feel like I didnt get my moneys worth. I love this store!

I love this store, I got so many things I needed for my child here, while I was on a tight budget, and the prices are very affordable, items are gently used and in good quality. I love the beaded bracelets for baby and toddlers, my daughter wears her’s all of the time.. loves it.

The idea of this store is great and I have to say Ive found some great finds here and sold a few things too. However, a lot of their stuff is junk and its really irritating when I try to sell my really nice stuff to them and they refuse it. They also treat you like youre a pain and just giving them more work to do when you bring your stuff in to sell.

I’m sad to leave this review, but I feel like I should. A while back we purchased a baby monitor. Unfortunately, we didn’t notice at the time of purchase but the cord is sliced down to the copper wires. It works, but I’m worried it will stop working. When I called, I was told there’s nothing they can do since it’s passed their return window. Super frustrated!

The staff is rude and dont treat you with respect. Treat you stuff like trash. Stuff that is like new condition and says can not take. slow and dose not go through stuff because they are lazy. if you dont like your job find a new one. So upset with the treatment we got.

Everything is over priced for used items definitely not over paying for used items. Maybe they think they are running a retail store with ``NEW gentle wear?? Just save your money and buy new anyway. Dont get me started on the buying the used items wouldnt have nice things to say either.

I like once upon a child. I believe that Ive gotten fair prices for the the things Ive brought in and for the things I have bought. However I wish they would offer more money in store credit versus just taking the cash when selling items to them. Also the staff isnt really all that professional or informed. Last time I was there I had to remind the girl that the things I was buying were on sale.

I had some stuff in storage I needed to get rid of a brand new high chair that only had been used a few times . Diaper genie, and a brand new walker jumper hardly used I paid over $100 for on Amazon . They wouldnt take the diaper genie saying it was dirty but stated they wiped a couple of other things down . They only gave me $25 stating that retail the walker goes for $60! Not brand new I dont know where they looked but its still going for $100 on Amazon . Guaranteed they sold it for over $50 . Their prices are too high as well I saw a childrens table going for over a $100 ; you can buy the same thing brand new at toys r us . I also bought a baby carrier there last year I went to Walmart later and could have bought a new one for the sale price or cheaper . So no you dont sell for less than retail !

I have sold to Once Upon a Child several times and always receive a fair price for my items. The staff is always friendly and helpful! I have found some great items here from clothes, shoes, to toys and dvds, all at a great price. If you are on a budget, come here! You can find nearly new and sometimes brand new items at a fraction of the cost of other stores. I got my daughter a playmat for $7 that was $30 elsewhere.

Ok experience, would have preferred for them to give me my sale quote over the phone instead of having to drop-off then come all the way back for pick-up/credit/$ amount to be given. Came from the Northeast end of Sparks so the $9 I ended up with only covered the gas it took to do the 2 round trips! Either that or offer customers who do not live nearby or have other engagements in the area a speedy look through and quote on the spot... may help with the ratings and disgruntled reviews :) thanks Ladies!

This place is great for getting things, but selling things FORGET it. I spent 2 hours this morning going through baby clothes to make sure they were all clean and suitable, only for them to take the shoes and 1 onesie. I got $3 for 2 trips that used at least $10 of gas.... the lady that looked at my stuff was extremely rude and unprofessional. DONT WASTE YOUR TIME TRYING TO SELL TO HERE. They wont take anything, and even if they do the price they give you for it is absurd.

Love this place, most items in great condition, and sometimes we find some really great special items that cannot be found elsewhere. Perfect for finding out of season clothing.

I am very angry went to Once upon a child on Virginia st. In Reno went to go use the ladies Restroom to change my 3week old did number 2 diaper and my husband was waiting for me to finish and a sales associate lady approached the door and said it smells bad as she left to go behind counter she was complaining that the womens bathroom smells bad. My husband followed her and heard her complaining to another sales associate that the womens restroom smells bad.Before she left she knocked on the door I answered coming My husband told her I was changing my sons diaper I thought it was my husband trying to see if I needed help ftm.He told me what had happened we left cuz we were so mad. What does that sales associate think a bathroom usually smells like Roses. That sales associate should not be complaining or working around childrens stuff if she doesnt have patience.For her information Adult odor and poop smells way worse than a babies. Shes lucky I didnt go place my babys dirty diaper on the counter so she can smell it and give her something to complain about.

If I could give 0 stars, I would. I have sold, bought, and looked a handful of times and never once have I ever been offered any assistance on the floor. After my last couple times of attempting to sell, I will never be going back and I will never recommend them to anyone. Recently, I went to sell a double stroller that alone retails $400 along with multiple add ons, some being to convert it to a triple stroller, I purchased separately. I used it ONCE and it all looked out of the box. Now I understand they can only pay out up to $200 per iitem and its based off a percentage of I think 40% being the highest maybe it was 60%, but they offered me $80. For all of it. I was beyond baffled. That shouldve been my last attempt to sell, but it wasnt. This last time I brought in literally an entire mini van full of clothes, toys, bed accessories, etc. To start with, nobody at any time offered to assist in bringing anything in, they didnt even offer to hold the door open for me. After Ive brought in at least half of the stuff, they begin to tell me that some of the items they cant buy anymore (brand new play mat), stuff is dirty, etc and everything needs to be brought in ready to go on the floor. While I admit some of the toys could have afforded to have a little wipe down, all of the clothes were just washed and nothing was excessively dirty. Im sorry, but do your employees do anything besides ring up customers and sort through children items to criticize and most likely not even buy? Because they sure arent actually assisting any customers. You are buying children items, its not going to kill them to have to maybe wipe down a few things. I am a mom of three under 3, I obviously dont have all the time in the world to clean and sell all of these items, hence where resale stores come in. Its insulting that a childrens resale store will make hundreds off of items they will only pay you nickels and dimes for and all they do is tag it and put it on the floor. Thats ridiculous to me. Not to mention, they were rude about it and when I stated I would be taking everything back and not selling, I was once again not offered any assistance in taking everything back to my car and told well here is your sale info paper for when youve cleaned everything and decided to bring it back. Haha. Yeah, not happening. I will NEVER be coming back to sell. I will NEVER be coming back to buy. And I will certainly never be recommending them to anyone. Dont waste your time. Youll most likely be treated poorly and insulted in the process.

Everytime i walk into Once Upon A Child im always greeted by a employee with a smile. They have tons and i mean tons of cute clothes and they are super cheap. For the first year of my daughters life almost all her clothes were bought from here. It saved me a ton of money for formula and other essentials she needed. I still shop here for both my kids as it helps alot now.

Its ok. I rarely get the amount of money my used clothe is really worth but still better than give it to Goodwill. In my experience they only take brand clothing and reject anything from Walmart, Target and Childrens Place between others. They always take my Gymboree, Justice and Carters clothe. They also rarely take books.

If you are having a baby and you are on a budget, this should be your first stop! I have found loads of clothes at other places that are brand new and really cheap, but baby furniture and essentials like that, you cant find these prices any where else. The items are used but well worth it. I even found a gate big enough for my kitchen entry way. I have been looking for one since I moved to N. Nv in late 2014. I really enjoyed this place. The staff were friendly and quite helpful. There was a woman, I didnt catch her name but she had a hearing aid and glasses, she even told us about some text reward things and we got $5 off. Most companies will tell you about that after youve already made your purchase. She was very helpful and very polite. I have been buying those little swaddlers that Walmart sells at $17 for a pair, well they have them here for $2 and $3 a piece. Im mad at myself for spending so much money on those things that I could have saved by coming here.

Went all the way down there because they said they had something they didnt. The store is a mess, it looks dangerous. I bet the fire department would freak out.Then when i didnt do anything but call to ask about an item I am suddenly getting texted ...That is bull, I didnt sign up for them to do that they got my number off caller id.

For a second hand store that sells baby clothes, toys, and accessories its too expensive! I can buy brand new everything at target for the same price or even cheaper.

This place is a joke! I literally gave them a whole bag of clothes to sell and wasted an hour and a half to come back and be told that they wont accept any of my clothes because it has an odor. They never explained what kind of odor, Im kinda confused seeing as we dont smoke and have no animals, literally the clothes were washed and placed in a dresser which I took them out of and went directly into a garbage bag. I will never return to this place, I have been told multiple times they could not take things because they were stained so I told them they could go ahead and donate it for me just to come back and see my items on their shelves for sale. I will not ever recommend anyone to go there.

I have had an excellent experience everytime I have been in here. The merchandise is always in very good condition, clean and seems they have high standards on what they will take in. Which a majority of the poor feedback seems to be from the selling/trade in end - I actually appriciate that they dont take stained/broken/noticably used items. The service has been good even when they are busy, though I appriciate them getting me in and out quickly where others may require more attention.

I have saved $1,000s shopping here. Absolutely love it!

2 days ago I went to this store I took my daughters toys in very good condition and these people only made me waste my time they only bought 1 toy I know that my daughters toys are in very good condition I felt discriminated againstI decided to take a walk around the store and look at the toys they buy and I saw toys similar to the ones I had and those toys were dirty I opened the size 8 boxes of shoes and there were some brands but in very bad conditions I wonder as they buy only things good and brand then because they sell so much shoe and toys in bad conditions
