They did a thorough inspection of my truck and performed necessary maintenance and repairs for a reasonable price. I would recommend them to anyone looking for an honest, knowledgeable repair facility. If you are just wanting a cheap price then you might need to look elsewhere.

I’m still so grateful I found Southgate Automotive after relocating from Illinois. They are an awesome small business who is honest and upfront. I love that they take pictures of the work needed and send it to you so you can see. Also they are able to text message you with updates or authorization and have VERY fair pricing. Because I work in a job that I’m not able to pick up the phone constantly, the text message communication is wonderful. I FULLY TRUST them with my vehicles.By the way, I found them via a Yelp review and I’m so glad I did.

I had an old vehicle that was having starting problems. I took it to several other places around Reno. Each place replaced something and sent me off without fully fixing the problem. Southgate did an extensive diagnostic on my vehicle and showed me every possible problem it has big or small with photos and video. It was extremely helpful in making the decision whether to keep my vehicle or not. It’s service I’ve been searching for in Reno for years. I am very grateful for Southgate and will definitely return!

Google reviews cannot be trusted. As you can see, these reviews are flawless. Southgate Auto quoted me $25 to put air in my air rite airbags and over $500 to install a serpentine belt, tension pulley and idler pulley. Would not trust them. Anyone who takes the time to create false reviews will also be willing to falsify their work on vehicles

These guys are great. They tell you exactly what’s wrong, how they are going to fix it, and an honest estimate of the costs. The will send you a text showing photos of the problem and a follow up text after you’re done making sure everything went well. If you’re old-school and want a phone call instead they will do that too.Their online scheduling works great, and the ladies that check you in are always nice and efficient.I take all my vehicles here.10/12/2020 - EditA previous review regarding masks was addressed and the last time I was in everyone was masked up and social distancing protocols were upheld. Great experience here! I called early in the morning with a pop-up car issue that happened during an “emergency trip” to see family, and they told me to come on in! We were very impressed with the professional and timely service - my car is running perfectly now. After a few very bad experiences at other shops, I would highly recommend Southgate Automotive. Forward a few months - my car was making noises. I called Sothgate Auto - it was Brittany’s first day. She agreed to meet me at the shop a few days later before they opened and drop me off at work. My experience with mechanics has been super varied. Some are super shady, and a few are honest and straight up. That’s why when I find one in the latter category, I stick with them. Recently, my previous mechanic closed shop which led me to a few unpleasant experiences. It was through this that I stumbled upon South Gate. They were super honest and didn’t try to up sell me with any stuff I didn’t need. They’ve earned my trust and that’s why I’ll go back.

Had my oil changed during this worldwide pandemic, and let me tell you that I am one of those overly paranoid people during these times. Mother of 3 kiddos two of which are high risk. It was very reassuring to know that I could pull up, leave the keys in the car and go for a walk with the kids. Within 30 minutes I received a digital inspection report to my phone and was told it was ready to go. Payment was processed over the phone and everything was in protocol for the covid -19 guidelines. Being a 21 year old girl I am always hesitant taking my car places because I always think people will try to mislead me or take advantage of my lack of knowledge. But at Southgate they were very open and honest with me. Nicole called me personally and explained everything to me and made sure that I understood everything and was aware of everything that would be happening with my car. I never felt like I was being mislead or taken advantage of. On top of that they got my car back to me within a day and a half! I took my car over to Southgate Automotive a couple days ago to get a brake check, because that is what I thought was wrong, and was amazed at the customer service Dave and the team at Southgate provided. Dave called me after doing the brake check and taking the car for a test drive and informed that I needed tires. He then quoted me a great price on tires, while never forcing the sale. When I picked my car up I was greeted by a friendly receptionist and they clearly explained what they did. Great service, fair pricing and knowledgeable staff. I had heard good things and am glad that I decided to take my car to Southgate. Oh and the waiting area was really clean and inviting for an automotive repair shop.

I always feel comfortable taking my cars to Southgate. Dave does quality work, but just as important to me is that he sets very clear expectations and Ive had many experiences that validate how honest his business is. I would never even consider going anywhere else for my car services or repairs.
