Wow! I am so incredibly impressed with all the guys at this business... Im struggling to figure out where to begin. Long story short, my ten year old Dodge Durango (with 230K miles on it; Ive driven all but 1K of those miles) needed a new transfer case. Gerry was extremely kind and helpful from the first minute I walked in the door with the youngest of my four kiddos, all the way through to the end of the journey (which ended up being further complicated by an additional cracked starter). While major vehicle repairs are always extremely stressful, Gerry and Skip made sure I was well taken care of, laughed along the way, and received a very kind deal. A business like this is incredibly valuable in this community and I HIGHLY recommend bringing your vehicles here; I know I will NEVER go anywhere else! Brought my truck in for a overdrive problem which I indicated was a wiring harness among other things. Levrett said it was the trans. I disagreed but acquiesced on the condition that they fix initial problem. Issues wasnt fixed, brought it back they fixed with a wiring overlay. Trans went bad brought it back again. They fixed and charge 450 on top of original 4k. Didnt need a trans, just harness fix. Den of thieves. Go elsewhere. His reply will be a lie.

I have always had great service at Levretts for transmission work. Last week they changed out the leaking front axle seals in my Silverado. They do great work and give me a thorough inspection of my vehicle. Best of all they are down to earth guys, and treat you like a friend walked in the door. Unlike a lot of places these days, they actually appreciate their customers and will take a little time to talk to you.

They did fix my truck but it only took them three weeks

If you are having issues diagnosing 4wd issues come here. These guys are very good. We had 4wd engaging issues for years and then it turned into a transfer case issue and they fixed both. Would highly recommend.

As a new transplant to Reno I have found my automotive repair shop!! Levrett Automotive has taken care of my truck twice now and I could not be happier with the service. The best mechanic in Reno/Sparks area that I have found. I’ve never had anything go in for repair that needed to be fixed again. Even when I just call them for some mechanic advice they always help me out as much as they can over the phone. When I have to bring in my fleet vehicles they always make special accommodations for me and the turn around is quick and done right. While driving home earlier this month, I felt something hit my foot while coming to a stop. I called around and was able to get in at Leverett Automotive for a quick diagnostic inspection. My vehicle is coming up on 100k miles, and felt I needed the check anyways.I had an idea as to what had broke and so did John. But I didnt know where to look exactly or how to replace it. John and his technicians did. A simple quick check later, confirmed that my clutch spring broke. They pulled my car in and did a full inspection, on top of this.John was honest and upfront with me about the whole process, cost, and everything they found during the inspection. John provided great advice on the priority of repairs that my car needed. This allowed me to bring my vehicle in to him in stages and allowed me to break up the cost of all the repairs into bits and pieces versus all at once.Johns professionalism, knowledge of his trade/craft, and up front honesty about everything cannot be understated. I understand that any other mechanic in town could do what John and his technicians did for me. But, you cannot fake this feeling of customer satisfaction, that John and his associates gave to me.

They were straightforward and comprehensive and very quick. The interactive website detailing your vehicle is very useful. I used Levrett in 2015 when my transfer case broke and they repaired it. That same vehicle was still going up until last year when it was taken out in a hit and run so I trust them to make solid repairs. I used them recently to do another diagnosis and they were fast and professional. I will definitely seek them out in the future should I have more issues. Thank you!

Levrett has always been quick to respond to my needs. They schedule accordingly, quickly and mostly immediate, Ive never had to wait more than one day to schedule service. Their pre-evaluation of the vehicle is a great resource also. One of my vehicles has a cabover on it and they have the equipment to service my truck with it on, thats hard to find!

All around really awesome place. Being a woman, am always nervous that auto places will treat me like like...well, a woman. But John was incredibly nice from the start, super welcoming and straight forward which I appreciate. I highly recommend these guys! The only down fall is that I got an oil change done around March and I just had it inspected again recently (May). I was told that its leaking oil from a broken cap and seal. So now I leak oil and have to constantly check the levels until my next change, which is extra annoying since I live in a rental and am responsible for fluids staining the driveway. Not sure if Id get an oil change done again here because of that, but definitely love the customer service from them.

I brought my car in to fix a sound that my dad and I suspected was the ball bearing. It was, and I was charged over $730 to fix it. I paid $130 just for the diagnosis which I already gave them. They told me I needed to flush my brakes and change my air filter. I knew neither of these things were the issue and I didnt ask them to do that. I was quoted another unreasonable price for the air filter so I decided to change it myself. When I opened the hood I saw that they had put the cover for the air filter on incorrectly 🙄. When I originally paid for a full diagnosis I expected them to tell me why the heck engine light was on but they said that would cost another $130 to diagnose that. Very disappointed in this place.

I found these guys ( John ) on Yelp. Lots of the yelp community recommended him, so of course I had to go with that :). They are extremely flexible with scheduling and are knowledgeable in the automotive industry. John always does a great job for us at a reasonable price. We originally brought in our 2005 Lexus to get some maintenance done on it. John’s extremely knowledgeable in all things Toyota and Lexus! I feel very comfortable with what he was explaining to me that needed to be done and felt absolutely great about the price! A few months later John connected with us to be sure we were happy with the vehicle and asked if there was anything else he could do for us. We didn’t have anything at the time, but did have an opportunity do you bring in our motorhome for servicing last week! They did a bumper-to-bumper check and did all of our maintenance an extremely reasonable price! Did a great job and we will continue Take all of our vehicles to John at Levrett automotive! Great job guys!

Fast and friendly service. I was surprised that they finished my in 1 day. I was also surprised on they sent their inspection of my vehicle. I would definitely recommend and definitely will be going back. Thanks to all the guys at Levrett’s.I had to take my Jeep back to Levrett’s due to blown out shocks and bad brakes and leaking diffs. The guys at Levrett’s did a great job again. Although I couldn’t get everything fixed, they fixed my brakes and emergency brake and my rear diff seal. My brakes work great and my emergency brake feels better than ever.Always impressed with everyone at Levrett’s. Thanks again to Gerry and all the guys at Levrett’s. I keep forgetting to mention this but they do offer customer pick up and drop off.

I would recommend this shop to everyone. Takes them no time at all to fix a transmission. I guess if you have been working on transmissions for 50 years, you can probably rebuild one in your sleep. Had to wait a week for my parts to get delivered but they were quick to imstall them once they arrived.

I cant recommend Levrett enough. Honest, fair-priced, and fast!!! After 2 years of dealing with no A/C, Levretts Boys figured out the problem and had me out in an hour with Air-conditioning that works. I have an older vehicle, and when my timing belt broke, Skip came to me to help me figure out what was going on. He got me up and running again and my car runs great. Weve taken all of our vehicles Skip, for tires, belts, A/C you name it . I dont trust any other garage.

If you enjoy being taken advantage of and belittled because you dont know a lot about cars, then this is the place for you. My family used to have a lot of work done by them, not anymore.

I would give 0 stars but not an option Wouldn’t recommend. Father-in-law went for an oil change, was convinced he need his transmission flushed. He received his van back the oil was not filled completely and the transmission was not flushed clean. Long story short transmission gave out and vehicle was ruined. They took advantage of a 76 year old man. Just shameful!

I probably bug at this point but I’m there every week sadly. I mean I ain’t no mechanic so I appreciate the help/work they do here.

Our Ford Explorer had its radiator replaced at a local and well-known garage and soon after the vehicle broke down in San Jose, California. After AAA provided their 200 miles of towing for Premier Members, it still cost about $600 to get the car back to Reno. The car went to Levrett and although their mechanics had NOTHING to do with the mechanical failure, they took it upon themselves to do everything they could to replace the Napa products at NO COST that were not installed and sealed properly by the original mechanic. They succeeded in helping us save a lot of money and we were genuinely touched by their efforts. These people did so much for us that they werent obligated to do that I felt compelled to share this story with readers who are considering using their services. I have nothing but wonderful things to say about this business and their employees and how they have dealt with me and my old car when I drive in and ask that they listen to a strange sound that might be a warning sign for something bigger. I prefer to be proactive to avoid being stuck on the side of the road and this is their philosophy for their customers as well. They also offer more than transmission services which makes killing two birds with one stone convenient. LEVRETT ROCKS!!!

The customer service here sux. I asked about rear differential service and the receptionist did not know anything so I asked to talk to someone else and she hung up on me. I called back and she was really rude and hung up again. for service like that I am not even going to take my car there. I really hope they work on their customer service or there is no telling how many customers they are loosing.

I brought my f150 transmission in for an estimate on a rebuild. They charged me $150 to tear it apart and gave me a quote of $2000! (these are available on line for 7 to 13 hundred dollars. I got some of my transmission back in boxes but missing some parts. I returned 3 times just for the pan that they lost. The owner would not return my pan OR pay for a replacement. They would not answer requests from the Better Business Bureau. My advice- stay away, stay very far away.
