I had oil change there before, always expensive there, but they did a nice job and for $71, for an RV. I was told the new price was $279 for an RV. I was stuck and had a $20 coupon. It was explained to me that Oil changes are more expensive now. Everyone was polite, and they gave me an additional $40 off, but, no way oil changes cost this much. I called Ford dealer, mobile providers and they are much cheaper. I will not be going back to Christensen Automotive. I will tell everyone that they give good service, but too expensive. They said the reason for the high cost was it takes 1 1/2 hr for oil change. They were done in 45mins. I have no confidence that I got the right oil, or even new oil filter. The cab was dirty fingers on the interior engine shroud, and 2 latches were not latched. Just hurry up, do a quick job and charge a lot.

I have nothing but praise for Christensen Automotive! Tim and the whole crew are the epitome of professionalism. Tim stayed in contact with me through the entire process and made sure I approved of all the repairs. Got my car back in three days and it runs great now. Thanks guys!!

This is a new business for me at this location but the got my business and this review because they took very good care of my car. I love my Honda and Ive had it forever its a great running car till recently and I had to have it serviced. Brandon was very helpful and answered any question I had. They do a thorough inspection of your car and they dont try to price gouge you. I will be returning to Christensen Automotive should I have any more issues with my car. Hope this helps.

Me, my wife, and 4 year old daughter was stuck in Reno on our way to Kansas city Missouri for our family vacation to see one of our daughters graduate, and to be reunited with 3 of our children that we havent seen in 9.5 years. Our van was dropped off overnight Im there parking lot with a hole in our radiator hose that had occured in the middle of the night, that left us stranded. I was highly offended while rudely being forced to conduct a service I didnt need in order for them to fix the problem that I already knew of - what-t-t are you kidding me?! I was recommended by a friend to this place to trouble shoot multiple electrical issues including nonworking door locks and air bag light in my 2006 Ford E350 van which has undergone significant customization prior to my purchase from a private owner. They upfront got me to commit to $280.00 diagnostic charge which I accepted due to my motivation. Within 24hrs., they (Tim) called me back and suggested additional diagnostic time (I still have no idea what they charge per hour for this service) which I begrudgingly agreed to due to my motivation. Long story short, they called both Ford and Quigley (which I was impressed with; hence the 2 star rating) to seek help to no avail as they determined that my ford van was originally built w/o electric windows or locks. (they never addressed the air bag light) The tech came to the conclusion, that due to custom work, he was afraid to try to fix anything b/c he was concerned he would fix one thing and break two other things. I got that. They charged me $807.00 for diagnosis!! and fixed nothing but referred me to Mos audio sp?. (they did tell me my brake pads were ok.) Tim apologized and was professional throughout (hence my 2 star rating). However, I would never have filed this negative report if my panels had not fallen off my door and dash after I picked up the van and returned home. I would have called them to complain, but theyve alrdy charged me $807.00 ( which I paid if full), and I wished to cut my losses so I could spend the time instead writing this review. I get it. I dont appreciate it, however. Better, more definitive communication about expense for diagnosis would have been very helpful in my opinion. Hopefully someone from their Reno, NV office will read and make this change.

Beware! Especially to the ones who dont know s*** about their car. I took my car in for A/C service. And yes, they weresuccessful in filling up the Freon. But I guess $350 out of my pocket wasnt enough. Because they attempted to strongly advise both front brake pads & rotors needed replacing quoting me $1000. Wish I could attach pictures of the pads & rotors once my father and I checked them ourselves. Not only did they not need replacing..they were dirty. Only needed a little Grease. Thanks but no thanks Christensen Auto.

Left a 1997 Acura with this place, only to receive a call 3 days later from a very angry, rude, unprofessional employee stating the car was worthless and to get it off the lot immediately. Since we are from Washington state we didnt know any mechanic shop there so we trusted the reviews. He argued and didnt let us say much just kept repeating to get the car out of there because they refused to work on it, calling it a Mickey mouse car amd that it belongs in a wreaking yard. We were trying to help our son with getting the vehicle running. He made us feel like we were incompetent and knew we took in a lemon. We had no idea the issues with the car but it definitely could have been handled with professionalism or some offer of what to do with this vehicle. I love Reno but will never take any car to them and never refer and friends or family.

Heard about them on TV and made an appointment to have some repairs done. I was given an estimate and was very satisfied. Their quote was accurate, the work was done within the time frame they had given me and were courteous and efficient.

I have been with Christensen since 2014 They have always taken great care for all of our cars. Lance always remembers our account and especially my car. Yesterday I met the new manager, Kenny he was thoughtful enough to pick me up when my car was ready. He is very kind. I highly recommend this Shop especially to all my friends and family.

I have taken my car to Christensen for basic maintenance for over a year now and have always received great service. This past month I had to have some major work done to my car and they were amazing to work with in a VERY frustrating situation dealing with Chevrolet. Long story short they really went above and beyond of what they had to do and were great at communicating what was going on and what my options were.

Ive been taking my cars to Christensen for years now. I just bought a used Prius, and had them check it out for me. They did a thorough job and got it done well within the promised time frame.

These guys feel very honest in their evaluations, and care. I heard many customers bringing woes from other mechanics here, and you can tell they do good work because they have many clients coming in or coming back. The store front is a little cramped location wise, but very clean especially for a mechanic shop.So why is my review missing two stars? Price, and immovable mechanic in trying one minor fix before a major one.Heres the long story:My family was in the middle of a big move, and broke down in Reno. I mentioned this to the guys, which is my fault. My truck needed an alternator. I was hoping a fuse might be the easy fix, but sure enough it wasnt. The guys however, werent willing to try and replace this known problematic fuse before the alternator. Just a simple $5 part check. Because they wouldnt do this, I was a little frustrated. Then the big hit.It would cost $855 before taxes to replace the alternator. I felt hamstrung, and based on quotes from other shops since then, I cant say I feel any better. I refused the service, and replaced the alternator myself. The best possible part I could have bought was $189. The alternator took me an hour and a half to change, after watching a YouTube video. Im not saying a mechanic shouldnt be worth his expertise, but roughly $655 for an hour of labor still seems a bit much.To be fair, these guys were polite and professional all the way through. Their diagnosis was accurate. They even cut me some slack on the diagnosis fee, for which Im grateful. If the price is worth it for you, I have confidence that these guys would serve you well. Just from my experience, you might want a second quote.If I left a 4 or 5 star review, you might not have read this anyway. Its as honest as it gets, and I hope this helps someone make their choice.

I was told that one of the guys at Christensen’s was the guy to take my truck to as he knows and loves these kinds of vehicles. I took it there and met with Kenny, he assured me all would be good with my truck. After going through it and making sure all was good....or not good... Kenny called me direct and have it to me straight! I appreciate that and it was helpful in making the decision on how to proceed forward. This truck has had a few issues but we are getting through it together... the cool thing is they aren’t leaving me high and dry, they are honest and stand by their work and word! I called to ask how much a brake inspection would cost. [Back story: I was getting the oil changed on my Rav and the tires rotated, and the mechanic said the rotors were shot and the pads would go soon. Makes sense. However, my vehicle had been showing no signs of wearing brakes. The mechanic then said if we did the brakes that day he could guarantee a price of $250, but if we waited, he wasnt sure how much it would cost. It sounded super sketch, so I left and got a second opinion.] Christensen was AMAZING to work with. I was at the Reno location speaking to Lance, and he got my vehicle in that week, inspected the brake, noting there was 50% left, and they even were able to give me a ride back to work after I dropped my vehicle off. They were SO GREAT to work with. I did not feel as if they were trying to sell me on something. The staff, all of them, were so nice, and the waiting area seemed really comfy: there was coffee, vending machines, TVs and a couch. They also had an American flag and many other flags dedicated to the men and women who fought in combat, so I just felt like any business repping war heroes had to stick by that and be legit. So far Id say yes. Im definitely going back to give them my business.

My parents have been using this company for years and trust them with their whole life. I went there for the first time for an oil change, and they ran a full diagnostics report. They are honest and reliable.

I have an older model pickup no its not a classic have a hard time finding people to work on it Christian Brothers took care of it (had a problem with injectors) if you know what the problem is it helps them otherwise troubleshooting can be very costly they said the newer cars with the plugins you and them will have a much easier time finding the problem my son takes his car there which is newer and they have an easier time fixing it because they can find the problem much easier they were upfront with me as to what kind of work they could do on my vehicle was pleased with their service

All of my experiences regarding my vehicles have been positive. Most notably, the service on my 2005 Chevrolet pick-up. Had to pull my 5th wheel to Texas, and had absolutely no problems.

Driving on the freeway - my dang check engine light blinks. I call Christensen, cuz their number is on a sticker on my upper left windshield and they are my auto peeps. I pull into their parking lot, a technician runs out, plugs in some computer goomba thingy and resets it. He says: call us if it blinks at you again. I love these folks.

Christensen Automotive has become my go to place for servicing my Subaru. I always receive courteous service and very competitive pricing. And they always have available parts for inspection that were replaced during the servicing, along with an explanation about the need for replacement.

I made an appointment for 8 am on friday. they said it would take one hour and then called me at the end of the day to say they’re keeping my car over the weekend. horrible service. wish i went somewhere else. i didn’t ask for my car to be monopolized for 4 days. i scheduled an appointment that was supposed to take one hour and it’s turned into 4 days. i will never come back here again. this is ridiculous people need their cars that’s what an appointment is for.

Ive taken my car there twice . Over 3,000.00 of work done . I have more problems now and took the car in . Its another 3,000.00 repair . I paid 135.00 for the estimate, then found out if they had offered me a smog and it failed, I could have used that estimate money towards a registration pass that requires a min. Of 200.00 work done towards the repair . They didnt. They didnt mention it, yet their company is on the list of places to take your vehicle for repairs. If the car fails a smog then that estimate would have went towards the 200 min. In repairs .

I got an appointment by phone right away to be seen for an unknown issue. They fixed the problem (plastic protecting undercarriage had torn off partially) and did a full assessment of the car for a fair price ($70). Im withdrawing one star only because they claim to gain approval before any action is taken, while they just went ahead and did it. Of course, it was a problem I wouldnt have driven away without fixing anyhow, I just wish they had informed me of the cost beforehand, lest I couldnt afford it.

My car was sent here by the collision place that looked at it after an accident. They charged me a $120 diagnostic fee without actually telling me what was wrong with my car. Oh, and they dont even have the tools to fix what they say IS wrong...Avoid this place. Theyll take your money, and not even fix your car.

Took car in, said they found the problem, $1,000 later they made a mistake and left a scratch on my car they did not want to take responsibility for. Did not want to accept responsibility for any of it(the scratch or the mistake)and told me it would be another $600 to fix the real problem

Beware, I took my moms car with 247k miles for oil change that cost 25.99, I went with my 160k miles for same service and they charged me over 60,when questioned I was told I needed high mileage 🤔

I took my Miata to Christensens with a hard to diagnose and intermittent problem. Russell stuck with the problem for three days trying this and that and finally found the source - a not fully plugged in Crank Positon Sensor.The charges for the service were reasonable and the work was well done.
