I have been going here every three months for a routine check up and this is the last time. All the workers are rude (what few they have left). And they will cancel your appointments last minute or when you arrive because they are too busy. Maybe dont accept appointments at your store then since you guys clearly cant handle it. I shouldnt have to wait two hours for a routine check up. Clearly they only care about the big fixes so they get more money. Each time Ive gone here, I have been cancelled or delayed. EACH time. Not to mention they took away the actual store. This place needs to be shut down. Its so bad. Dont go here.

I took my vehicle to pepboys for for a uber inspection. Yesterday inspector used whiteout correct 2 mistakes on the inspection form. I uploaded the form to uber and they rejected it. I was then informed by Uber that I was deactivated for fraudulent activity. So thanks to pepboys I am not able to make a living driving for uber.

Made a same day appointment before the shop even opened up for 10am and I was told I would have to wait at least 3 hours before they could device my car and all I needed done was an oil change. I made an appointment so I wouldn’t have to wait that long and I was never given a courtesy call to notify me about that. If I had known prior I would have rescheduled for a later time or came back but they wasted my time. I can’t afford to wait at the shop for three hours.

Made an appointment online for an 11.00am oil change today, Sunday July 25. Received an email and text from Pep Boys confirming the appointment. Drove 20 minutes to the Pep Boys in Smithridge Center, Reno and arrived 5 minutes early. I walked into reception and the employee shared that they canceled all the appointments booked for the day because he only had 1 tech. He said it in the most off-handed way. No apology, no solution to fix the situation, called the next person in line. The other 2 customers left immediately.

The day before my appointment they called me and said they were over booked, and asked me if I could come in Thursday instead.When I showed up they told me that I would have to leave my car for hours.FYI I will not be returning there.

This store and the one in Sparks are closing. The mechanics will still be there. Almost everything in the store is 40% off. I got a great little battery jumper that also has a USB port to charge other things. Paid about 40 bucks. You should really go check it out

Customer service is horrible and the service manager and mechanic are unprofessional. I tell them my concerns about their service on my car and they yell at me and fly into a rage. A very toxic place. Worst experience in customer service I have ever had. If I could rate them a zero I would.

I had 2 scheduled appointments cancelled back to back at the last second. The first time it was because they were too busy, and the second time because there were not enough employees working that day. Completely unprofessional and barely apologetic. Avoid trying to take your car here unless you enjoy the headache of having plans completely derailed at the last moment.

This Pep boys customer service has gone down hill. No complaints about the mechanical service. Seems top notch for all the work Ive had done here. Now the Service Manager Sarah and team member Steven T, not so much. After being quoted no charge for a tire rotation with rim change out 3 TIMES after I dropped the car off for tie rods replaced I was called after work began and told there would be a $150.00 charge for work they earlier and repeatedly said would be no charge!! After coming to pick the car up the service Manager ducked out side to use her phone while I paid for the vehicle. Shoddy customer service to say the least. I wont be going back here again. Pretty shady operation if you ask me.

Pep Boys on McCarran is all but going out of business, their last day of retail sales will be Saturday, May 22nd. So while the employees were pleasant, friendly and professional, a review for an an auto parts store that will no longer exist in 48 hours is fairly pointless.

I stopped by yesterday with a tire I wanted moved over for a spare. The guy tells me he cant mount it, too old. I ask him to price match a new tire. He wont do it. I go to tirerack, I pick up the tire. I return to the same store on a Friday night with new wheel and tire. The lady tells me too booked. Doesnt offer to do it the next day, no effort to help out. So I hate to leave a bad review, but you earned it pepboys.

Been bringing my car here for a while and the quality of service has just tanked recently. Brought my car in on Wednesday, they said they might be able to look at it Thursday, Friday I got a call that I needed to call them back, with no other information. They need to replace the battery, and we agree that since I am on my 3rd battery in 6 months there is probably a deeper issue but they cant do anything till they replace the battery, we agree and they tell me they will replace the battery and figure out the deeper issue. Saturday I got a call to get my car and that they were closing early, no information on if they couldnt/could find another problem, and since they closed early I couldnt get my car anyways (I work graveyard, closing early screws people like me.), Sunday I called them at 9AM, their scheduled opening time and was on hold for 40 minutes before I gave up and had to sleep for work. Then I woke up at 5PM to try to contact them again since they closed at 6PM, and once again they decided to close early. Still waiting to hear if they even found the problem that keeps killing my battery, or even to collect my car between the odd hours they seem to want to be open.Edit:While I dont want to alter anything I said above, as that was my experience, I do however want to say they tried to make it right. Knocked the cost down to almost nothing, and even inspected the car for further flaws. I dont think they even know this exists, but I do think they satisfied me enough to feel the need to alter my star rating.

Made an appointment for a screw in the tire - flat repair - 2016 CrosstrekI get there, show a picture of the tire, am immediately told its too close to the sidewall, we cant fix it, best we can do is sell you 4 new tires, because Subaru has all wheel drive so we have to replace all 4Promptly left, took it to Les Schwab, in, out, tire fixed in less than 30 minutes.PepBoys has gone DOWN hill.

$850 dollar to work on struts and brakes ...5 hours of labor....i have all the parts should be 1hour for the brake job and an hour for the struts (just the fronts struts and I bought all in one strut ) AT most .... 7 bolts each side for the fronts ....4 bolts each side rears............this should be a crime..... Taken advantage of the public.....

I had an appointment for snow tire installation at the S Virginia location and spoke with someone on the phone to reserve tires in my size. I drive from Grass Valley CA for my appointment to find out they sold them to someone else instead. I went to this location who had the tires in my size. I went back because I realized the left front tire was installed backwards and I was charged a tire handling fee even though I took my old tires home with me. Matt behind the counter had a very condescending attitude and basically refused to help. I asked him to speak with a manager and waited to find out he never even bothered to tell her I needed her assistance. The mechanic ended up helping me instead. When the manager finally showed up I introduced myself and she didn’t respond. I asked if Matt told her I’d been waiting to speak with her to which she replies “no and I’m not even supposed to be here right now”. I never received an apology from anyone for all the inconveniences caused and in fact received attitude about it from employees and management! Both employee and management honestly could not have acted like they cared less. Horrible customer service and do not recommend!

Not my favorite place to go. If you ask about a certain item such as a headlight for my pickup they just tell you what aisle its on even though there are two people behind the register. I believe they should assist you and help you find the item rather than just go back to talking to each other.

Stopped in to get prices for tires. I told Ed what size they are. He told me my options and the prices on all of them. He was very friendly and honest. I left with 4 new tires because of their prices and customer service. I will use them again!3-4-2020, stopped in the get a tire fixed. I was shocked to watch them install a plug and not a patch. These tires have road hazard with only 9K miles on them. Told me they didnt do patches only plugs. WTH!!!! A tire shop that does not patch a tire ????? And no one in Reno will touch a tire with a plug in it. So to get the tire fixed correctly I have go to Fallon and pay. Will never be back in this store again. They were awesome when I bought the tires. But only plug and not patch a tire WOW JUST WOW!!!!!!!

I have been doing business with Pep Boys, Smithridge location for 5 years. They take excellent care of my 2 cars and dont charge me an arm and a leg. Pep Boys has coupons you can print out on the internet to save you more money. The service manager, Ed, is personable, polite, and insures that your cars are well taken care of. You cant go wrong with taking your vehicles to Pep Boys Smithridge. You and your wallet will be much better off for it.

Went to the Smithridge location for an oil change on my Prius. They left the cap off on the oil tank, for a week I drove around and finally discovered it when I smelled oil. There was oil all over my engine. The customer service refunded me and paid for a steam cleaning.Just went in for my next oil change at my local mechanic and they discovered that Pep Boys had also left the engine oil drain cap loose on the bottom of the oil tank, it has been slowly leaking oil for a month. If it would have fallen off and leaked all the oil, my engine would be ruined.A simple oil change with this location could have destroyed my engine, yikes!

I just got brand new tires from there, casual driving and my brand new tire got a hole in it. I take it and explain that I just got this tire and its an un-patchable hole, the tire still looks brand new and they wanted to charge me for a whole new tire. This is not cool, les schwab is better theyre warranty covers unexpected stuff like that. Pepboys just wants your money. I cant afford a petty situation like that, and theyre not willing to help out.

Go through all of these reviews and youll see that this store has a big issue with poor customer service. My experience was no different. Steve at the service desk has a real attitude problem and was rude, argumentative and dismissive from the very beginning. Steve, if you dont want to be there, then go find somewhere else to work, preferably not in customer service.Also, watch out for them adding extended warranties without your permission.Added an extra star for the excellent service and attitude from Rodger, the mechanic.

Not recommendedI do not agree to cancel the first evaluation since I requested a copy and it was denied. Then they gave me a second which Ed indicated that it was only a price adjustment. which was not asked to sign or notify verbal changes. when leaving the car was heated and returned. realizing that the 2 evaluation was not the same. Now I take the car in tow worse. Just want to past this pag.

I typically do alot of my own automotive care and maintenance however there are some things that can only be done In a full service garage, Ill bring my cars to Pepboys.

I needed to have my brake fluid changed. From the first call to the store to the time I drove away the service was flawless, and I would recommend this store to anyone, particularly where customer care is concerned. Brandon was professional, polite and very accommodating. I needed work done and couldnt wait for an appointment, so he and the crew at Pep Boys fit me in and got the job done in less than two hours. Then I asked questions of the man that did the work, and he answered my questions knowledgeably and willingly. When I paid, service manager Charlie was just as polite as Brandon and shook my hand before leaving. I was even greeted by an employee just in passing. And the ultimate test of quality work: the drive home. There was a noticeable difference in the way my car braked, and I felt safe as a result. Thank you for a great experience!! I will be back!!

From out of town but always come to Pepboys for Black Friday. This location was very clean and organized compared to the one where Im from. I was first to enter and got everything I wanted. Sales were great. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Even gave me a box to put my oil in.

Ive had several repairs done at Pep Boys -Reno. Staff is friendly, especially Service Advisor Ed, a Veteran, and they have stood by their work & products, even warranting a starter 48 hours after installing it, no grief at all. Ill keep going back with this level of service.

This was my first experience with Pep Boys and it will be my last visit. I set up an appointment on-line to have tires rotated, emergency brake checked, and Alignment check. I walked into the service dept for my 8am appointment and the girl working the counter barely acknowledged me. When she did address me,she was very unfriendly as if I were bothering her. I explained to her what I wanted and she very slowly let the shop know. I reminded the mechanic 2 different times about checking the Emergency Brake but it never got checked, seems him and the other 2 people working were to busy talking with each other. The girl at the service counter finally let me know that I needed an alignment. I ask her how long it would take because I was in a bit if a hurry to back to Carson City and she told me 45 minutes. She was rude and barely spoke with me. I then watched her and the alignment Tech stand and talk for the next 15 minutes. I left without having any work performed on my truck. The scheduled work did not even get completed properly. I drive 50 miles roundtrip to have nothing done on my truck. I did learn that I will never use a Pep Boys and do my auto business at a more professional business. Bill Nixon

I arrived at Pep Boys on a Sunday without an appointment but with concern that my brakes were not operating properly and just before leaving town for a long trip home. The crew there took my car right in and went through the brakes thoroughly. They spent considerable time and finding nothing serious, they charged only the minimum for inspection. All the employees and were incredibly helpful and friendly. I would recommend this repair shop without reservation.

Very impressed with the customer service, management, and work on my Subaru Outback. Also, (pleasantly) suprised that my final bill was VERY reasonable...about $100 less than the quote. Ive had auto work done at other shops, but this place is right up there with the best. Lets all face it...there is no perfect auto shop. But, Reno Pep Boys sure is worth taking a look at. I will definitely go back again.

Horrible. I would have given them 0 stars if I could. I asked if someone could look at a tire to see if it could be repaired. It was off the car and in the trunk. The girl behind the counter said they were too busy. I said it would take less than 2 minutes to tell me if the tire was fixable. She said no. Horrible business practice. Needless to say I wont be doing business with pep boys. Went up the street to Discount Tires and Mike took the 2 minutes to look at my tire and tell it was not fixable and provided me an estimate for 4 new tires. Now Thats Customer Service! Thanks Mike. The customer service here was beyond horrible. I called and scheduled an appointment days in advance for an oil change and fuel filter replacement. They spent 3 and a half hours wasted at least 2 gallons on fuel to finally say they could not replace the filters because they did not have them. At one time I had to advise them how to do part of it. So after wasting 3.5 hours they only did part of the job and that was done incompetently. I would strongly advise to NEVER use this WORTHLESS business.

If I could give less than one star, I would. This place is the most awful place I have ever dealt with. DO NOT go there. I took in my vehicle and nothing was fixed only more problems occurred. We then sold that vehicle because we thought it was just the vehicle. Then we took in my husbands car and the same thing occurred. We have gone in 5 times trying to get them to fix the situation. Each time something else has gone wrong. We have photos of the sloppy job they do. We had parts not put back together and things hanging out of the bottom of the car. If youre smart you wont go! I will make sure to tell anyone and everyone to avoid this place like the plague.

Pep Boys aint what they used to be. Smaller selection and less staff present. Used to be my go to auto parts store. No more. I went to buy windshield wiper blades for my 95 Suzuki Sidekick. They no longer have the reference book for blade sizes at the blades location. Instead they looked it up for me. They told me I needed 13. When i got home I found out they were wrong. I need 17.

This is being nice. They had my car, the 1st for 5 days cost $235, then it drop working again the next day. It died out on the street, had to push around the corner. Had it towed in cost $110, 2 days later. They didnt listen to what I said it might be. Dont go there unless you just want to waste money n car doesnt work. They only have one mechanic but he doesnt know what he is doing. So disappointed that they rip people off.

They don’t stamp the 20% restocking fee on my receipt. They tell you any pep boys can return snow chains. I went to another pep boys in Santa Clara. Their stamp says final sale. This place doesn’t do their job. Not every pep boys has the same policy. Should be stamping every receipt so they could see the stamp.

I would check the information you get from the Pep Boys on Smithridge Park twice before getting suggested service preformed by the Service Manager because he told me that I needed my motor mounts replaced with my power steering hose and that if not my power steering hose would simply go out.... I took my car to another shop and was informed that was not the case...suppect!!

My 88 Chevy blazer began having issues with turning on sometimes and sometimes not. I took it to mechanics near my house to try and get it fixed. I wasted much money and time only for the problem to persist. I finally decided to go to pep boys to get it diagnosed and hopefully fixed. I called for an appointment and went in the next day left my blazer in the morning they diagnosed and fixed it that same day. was a busy day theyre quick, affordable, and do the job right the first time. My blazer is running great now with no more problems i recommend this pep boys and will be returning for future repairs!

I ordered a battery and windshield wipers online with discounts, and when I went into drop off my car, the girl working behind the desk was really friendly and said theyd call when it was finished. Super easy. When I picked up the car, the discount was applied to the battery and not the wipers. I asked her about it, and she told me she added an extra discount on the battery. I was like okay. I left, got home, looked at the bill and realized that was not true. I wasnt going to make a big fuss about it. Whatever. Then Pep Boys contacted me about the experience (routine survey), and I told them it was great service, just didnt get the discount I asked for online (and was told I did but I didnt). Then the manager called me and offered a free oil change. That was very kind of him. My husband went into Pep Boys to grab the coupon, and the same girl was working and just scowled at him. When we dropped off the car for the oil change, it was a terrible experience. She said the car was finished and the mechanic had not even started, but still told my husband that the mechanic checked the tires and all the basic fluids that comes with an oil change. Again, the mechanic had not even started and she told him it was finished and everything had been checked. My husband ended up waiting there for well over an hour. When the mechanic drove the car out, my husband walked up and started to say hi and say this was his car. The mechanic walked right passed him without saying a word. Just completely ignored him. My husband got into the car and the keys werent in the car. He tried the front door but it was locked. (My husband had been waiting outside this entire time). He had to walk through the shop to confront the mechanic and the girl for the keys. The mechanic didnt speak a word to him. The girl gave him the keys. He is a very easy going guy and said the situation did not sit well with him. He thought they were both so rude and it wasnt necessary. He called the manager to explain what happened and how he was treated and the manager offered another free oil change. He asked if we could redeem it at another location. The manager said no. We never went in for the free oil change. It wasnt about the oil change, it was about the staff and the lack of professionalism and respect. It was such an uncomfortable situation. We will not be going back to any Pep Boys.

I ordered tires online..went to pick them up and I was schooled on how Id missed 3 appointments that I had made. I never even made one with them.i asked what number they had called me at for these appointments and was told they didnt have the information.The service girl was super rude about me missing these appointments that I knew absolutely nothing about. Then the supposed manager on duty,basically kicked me out in the rain,threatened to call the cops.Wow,I just went to pick up my tires and get them mounted All this took place on Christmas Eve.These were some of the rudedt people Ive ever dealt with.Merry Christmas!!!

Went in for a rideshare inspection. The guy there Ed failed me because of low tire tread and said I needed to buy tires in order to pass. Went to the main rideshare building and they passed me no problem. Rideshare drivers beware, tire scam!

I brought my 2017 Subaru in for a 30,000 mile tune-up and when I got back home there was a misfire with one of the coils after I paid 330$. So I took it back and apparently one of the coils burnt out. So we set that up to get replaced and after they replaced it we went to check out and they tried to charge me the price of the coil but they did something wrong during the tuneup so I was kind of freaking out telling them I wasnt and shouldnt have to pay for it. Well even after the coil got replaced there is something not happening right with my car. So I went back again and they said we could schedule a diagnostic but when I went in for the diagnostic the estimate was $100.I bought my car new off the lot and it ran smooth never any problems and now since I took my car to pep boys for the tune up I have something going on in my engine that Im going to have to figure out whenever I finally get out of the winter financial struggle because honestly I dont even have $100 to get the diagnostic test if I wanted to. Im living paycheck to paycheck and barely making it.In the future Im just going to have to suck it up and save more money to just the tuneup done at Subaru.I warn anyone else with a Subaru to do the same
