The content of the store is awesome! They have a lot of cool stuff. The sales people though are too pushy and they lie! This guy selling us a rocking chair told us he used to rock his daughter to sleep in it and the next sentence told us it just came in yesterday!

This place is basically a dressed-up junk mall. Most of the stuff is either outright fakes, artificially aged newer items or reproductions that they are trying to pass off as genuine. There are a few real pieces mixed in but very few. The staff is very disrespectful of people who have real items they are looking to sell and actually know the value of those items. I watched as a lady brought in a very nicely cared for, early 1900s jeweled brooch that could easily have sold for over the $500 and was offered $20 for it, when she politely responded that the buyer should take a closer look at the piece and perhaps make another offer, the seller said she did not need to, the piece would not sell for much more than the $20 she offered. To this, the lady replied in a most respectful manner that the buyer was quite incorrect and she would be taking her business elsewhere but just for the buyers information she then gave the full history and a complete rundown of what the piece was, even providing a fairly recent appraisal for it that valued it near $750 the buyer quite scornfully replied that if she knew what the piece was why didnt she lead with a selling price first. Picking up the brooch the lady then quite calming (better than I would have done in her place) replied that she had hoped the buyer would have made her a fair offer rather than trying to take advantage of her. I sincerely hope she found someone who dealt with her more respectfully. I understand you are running a business but you should not try to swindle someone. Making an offer that is less than 10% of what a piece will easily sell for is bad business to start (there is no argument for the buyer not knowing what they were looking at as in that position you should be able to tell when you need an expert to evaluate a piece before making an offer) but to then be rude when the seller makes it known they know the value of the item they are selling, that is just deplorable.

Loved this place! Ended up staying there over 2hrs! Staff was great in helping my son and I find the antique pieces we were looking for. Owners willing to negotiate on there items for sale. Will definitely return!

I could spend days in this antique mall and still not see everything. Every nook and cranny is filled with trinkets from the past and treasures to be found. Seriously, plan for a whole day! I have been a couple times and not left empty handed once. The prices are great and the selection is huge!

Huge, good selection and variety. Things arent cheap, but theyre not astronomical either. However, the vendor with the jewelry just inside the door was the most affordable brooches and necklaces Ive bought in a LONG time! Friendly people too!

Love all the different sections to the mall. WW2 section is especially my favorite. Old photos from 1800s- 1950s. Jewelry every where. Happy Place!

My girlfriend and I love antiquing! Whether we are in town or outta town! Lol! We met some great people here and brought home some fantastic treasures! Do it!!!

This place is as much flea market as it is antiques, but it is always interesting! We look forward to stopping here every time we are in Reno. Wide variety of dealers and price structures. Inventory constantly changing.My biggest complaint is that a lot of the stuff cant possibly be antique, it was around when I was a kid.....Oh!...Enough said.

Its been a few years back but i worked at the vsam for about five years and did i get educated on antiques. the place is full of great stuff and the dealers are friendly for the most part. i still take a walk through the place about once a month and the store looks great. hey check it out for yourself .

LOVE THIS PLACE! Just be sure to leave yourself plenty of time to get lost. There is so much to see here and fantastic music to keep you entertained as you seek out treasures.

Place is freaking awesome. All three employees that helped us were extremely attentive. Great place recommend for anyone that appriciates history.

Excellent store, have to have more time to search every spot in the store.

Nice people with a large selection, a lot of military stuff but some of it is fake or a replica being sold as real, they have this German captain dagger for $160 but it was way to small to be a dagger and more of a letter opener and a replica one. Military stuff is pretty pricey but nice selecton.

This is the worst antique place in Reno I am a local and everyone is rude. I was cussed at because he was wrong about something. They honestly know nothing about antiques I brought a cheating Faro card dealing box(look it up please and see what it is very cool info.) But its from the old west and he told me it has electronics in it and they are missing he knew nothing but claimed to know everything. Its the worst smelling place in town and everything is priced 5 times higher than normal. DO NOT GO HORRIBLE PLACE AND PEOPLE!!!

Odd, in a good way! An ecclectic mix of 20th-century antiques and bric-a-brac, with books and very neat themed displays. There is something for everyone, ranging from common trinkets to rarer art and memorabilia. It took three visits to extensively look through everything. The prices are high in general, but not unfair. The staff was friendly and petty eager to help out.

We were looking for a piece of glass for a ceiling light fixture. The original one looked like a glass bowl. He took the time to look around the store and looked with us. After not finding anything, the woman behind the counter handed me a book to write what I was looking for. A few days later I was contacted by someone that had something similar!They took the time to help and interest to help us. We found something that worked on an 80 year old fixture and not a cheap thin piece of glass from a big box store.

The Virginia Street Antique Mall is great they are now under new management and the place cant be better all the old carpet has been pulled out the booths are clean and easily accessible there are new vendors also a very friendly and knowledge able staff there is always something new and those one of a kind hard to find items you just mite find it there and the price will always be fair just so you all know that smell that people say was there is ALL GONE so go check it out you mite find that something you did not know you even wanted :-)
