For a French patisserie and light brunches/lunches that seem straight from Paris, try Madamoiselle Collette in RWC. The food is delicious, pastries superb, and the service and staff are excellent. Its the closest thing to an authentic French bakery in the Bay Area. The Redwood City location is closest to me, but I also go to the excellent Menlo Park store as well.I think that Rajan, the manager at the Redwood City Collette, is part of the reason for the great experience every time I go there. He is warm and friendly and always goes the extra mile to be helpful and service-oriented to customers and staff alike and runs a very smooth and efficient operation. We are very fortunate to have such a special touch of Paris in Redwood City!
Such a great cafe and addition to Redwood City.I had the smoked salmon with cream cheese, red onion and avocado - it was styled beautifully and tasted amazing. My friend had the croque monseur - it looked amazing and she loved it.Another friend had an almond croissant - it had almond paste inside and looked absolutely delectable.Another friend had the soup of the day and said it was average. The staff also had no clue what the ingredients were - not so great.Coffee was good but no splenda/artificial sweetener available. Oh, and they think a cappuccino and a flat white are the same.A main and drink came to about $25. Pastries were $4-$5.A stylish place to meet with others.
Its a beautiful cafeteria with high quality french pastries, breakfast and brunch food. Have been here many times and my experience, regardless Covid has been the same: Customers are asked to hurry up and say immediately what they want to order. If there are questions asked the staff behind the counter get really annoyed. Then people can sit in the outside tables and wait for their food. While eating and with food on the plate Ive been asked if Im done.Dont get me wrong, the food is great, and the place is always packed because of it, but the experience feels really uncomfortable with the staff blowing on peoples neck.
The almond croissant is fabulous ❣️😋
Everything here is delicious. Better than Bouchon and locally owned. Come and support it! Its definitely my favorite French bakery in the Bay Area! Croissants are to die for!
Love this quaint patisserie run by friendly French lady and her staff. Croissant is so fluffy on the inside and flaky on the outside, best Ive had. We regularly drop in during our bike ride and regardless of how busy they are, they provide top-notch service.
Great bakery and quality pastries!
Some of the best pastries in the bay area. Lovely cafe to sit and eat in as well.
Great French bakery/Cafe in Redwood City. Delicious eats.
Delicious bakery. It deserved the long wait.
Delicious traditional french bakery goods. There are a few tables outside that you can use to enjoy the treats.
Always had my fave here and freshly made as well.
I first learned of Mademoiselle Colette when they opened in Menlo Park. Sadly, quality has decreased as they grow. 2 stars on the croissant and hot chocolate. The staff was wonderful which is why I added 1 extra star
I had a great experience. Tarts and croissants are very delicious!
Great coffee. Even greater pastries!
One of the best bakeries in the San Francisco Bay area
I was really sad to see Pamplemousse close. It was one of my favorite lunch places when I worked in RWC. But since Mademoiselle Colette had opened, we have been consistently coming here for their pastries and desserts. Yes, they are pricey. But the quality is very good. We usually go for any of the croissants (plain, ham and cheese, chocolate, hazelnut), the lemon brioche, fruit tart, and the mini chocolate cake. There is usually a line in the morning when they open and on weekends, the outdoor seating fills up.
I love this place! Go early because theyll sell out, whether its one of their sandwiches made with in house fresh bagettes, their delicious danish with fresh fruit, or their incredible chocolate chip cookies. Its all good! Check it out.
Delicious croissants, pastries and sandwiches. The closest we can get to Paris these days.
Fabulous French Pastry shop we highly recommend. For my wifes birthday she asked for a Millfeuille cake and it was beyond expectations. We also bought a lemon tart and it was amazing too.
Poor customer service...condescending, rude abrupt.... has occurred more than once
Selection was a little lighter than usual but still delicious
Almond & chocolate croissant is yum. 🥐🍫💝
Great pastries and one of the best cappuccinos in the neighborhood.
Amazing croissant egg Benedict and fresh espresso! Can’t miss any chance to get a dessert here.
Service is wonderful. The chicken sandwich tastes so good. I cant wait to come back
Bought 4+ pieces of confectionary pieces totaling $50 and 3 of them were squished because the person mishandled it placing them in the wrong container size. Upon contacting them they apologized with sorry for your inconvenience. Im no shop owner but as business 101, Id apologize profusely and offer something to show my loyal customers gratitude for supporting them during this time (cuz I did drive 40min to get to them) even if its just a free croissant during our next visit because these are not $5 patries. I mean really, our local McDonalds offered a free mcdouble for giving us cold fries. Such disappointing experience, Twice!
The food and desserts here are stellar. I have never had a macron before and I was thoroughly impressed with theirs. What really makes this place is that these folks are very patient and dont hover over you and rush you through the line. Every single person was very welcoming and polite. I saw a very strong team environment where someone would come and assist when the line got a little longer.I would visit this place practically everyday if I lived here for the food and the friendly employees. If I come back to Redwood City, I will certainly visit them again.
So excited that theyve come to Redwood City. I love their place in Menlo Park, but now this is my go-to for work or friend coffee meeting place. The quality and authenticity of their ingredients is evident in the finished product and taste. Thank you for making Redwood City your latest outpost! No pictures because Im so excited to eat/drink whatever it is that its gone before I remember to take a picture.
Fantastic food and coffee, or so Im told. Nothing vegan to enjoy unfortunately.
Today was our first visit to this pastry shop. We were fans of the previous patisserie and wanted to make a comparison. When I saw the limited offerings, and the shape of the chocolate almond croissants which were flatter than I had ever seen, I felt dismayed. My husband chose the Mille Feuille and I decided to gamble on the said croissant which we took home.I was so pleasantly surprised that the puff pastry of the Mille Feuille was still flaky, buttery, crunchy, and the Tahiti Vanilla Cream was smooth, flavorful, but not too sweet. My flaky, buttery croissant was an exquisite bite, the bottom was sugar carmelized contrasting to the upper crust and almond paste filling. Was it because I did not have high expectations that these items were so satisfying? I have no answer, but I will return to try their other offerings. For now I am just enjoying my indulgences and thankful that this patisserie is conveniently located.
I ordered this delicious and beautiful strawberry tart as my bestie’s b-day cake. It’s a great option for people who prefer a classic and fruity (and not too sweet) desserts
Good quality food and pastries. A bit pricey, but maybe thats just the cost of survival in the Bay Area during Covid related imposing of idiotic cleaning rituals by the counties, which varies widely even within the Bay Area.Anyway, much worth to visit, enjoy a sandwich croissant or baguette, salad, some pastries and coffee, and sit outside (for now)...
Great atmosphere, very welcoming hosts, and super-tasty food! You must try their desserts - you wont regret. One of the best cafes in the Bay Area!
Love their ham and cheese.
Delicious but pricey.
Good food. Somewhat limited selection.
Always good.. great shop
Yum! Try everything!
Always a nice place to visit on a walk through town
Its a amazing place. All food is delicious and fresh. And also interior is perfect, modern and elegant. Best place for morning meeting with kids and friends. I love it.
What a wonderful selection for breakfast and brunch. The butter croissant was so flakey and soft. It was divine. You really do feel like youre in a Parisian cafe.
This patisserie is fantastic!! My husband and I are frequent visitors and never once have we been disappointed! First, I’ll start with the staff who makes all feel welcome. Delphine S., the manager, Zack the barista, and all the other staff give a warm greeting when we arrive, are patient as we sort through the wonderful array of pastries and lunch salads and sandwiches, and are eager to hear the next day how we enjoyed the food. Always, the food is wonderful; topped only by the warmth of the staff. MC has become our go to spot, and friends whom we have introduced it to have become regulars as well. Last, but not least, we appreciate the graciousness of Delphine and team as they help us imagine we are truly in Paris by overlooking our stumbling French and wishing us well with an “au revoir” as we head out.Avril and Mathieu Q
Changing my 5 star review. Too many things have changed since the change of management. Quality is lower. Selection is more americanized. Some barristas need training…Do NOT take the raspberry chausson. It is insanely sweet to a point where it is difficult to eat. Bring back the coffee brioche. Bring back the old selection! ☹️ disappointed
In addition to having incredible pastries, coffees, and food, this place also has amazing service. The staff are extremely competent, friendly and accommodating. I recommend the goat cheese tartine. Best new thing in Redwood City!
Wonderful atmosphere and the pastries are just incredible! My fiance and I have been three times already and each experience was wonderful. Great baristas as well to accompany a delicious french pastry
Don’t ever order through DoorDash at the Redwood City location. They do not honor the purchase even after showing receipt. Blond French lady shows no empathy despite we being weekly customers and making special walking trip to pick up order. So much for supporting local business when support is only one way.
A wonderful place to get either a small pastry or an out of this world cake.
I had the chocolate tart and it is sooo good! Not too sweet and have different layers of texture. Staff are friendly and the environment is very nice too!
Amazing pâtisseries! I grew up in France and I feel the food and the ambiance at Mademoiselle Colette is very authentic. Highly recommended!
Best pastries in the bay area. The inside area can get noisy but the outside patio is great.
One of the best bakeries on the peninsula. I just wish it wasnt so pricy...
Best french pastries on the peninsula. also their salads are excellent - great spot for a light lunch!
Best pastries around! Chocolatine/chocolate croissant as good as top notch Parisian boulangerie. Go try it!
Simply speechless caliber of pastries and bread. This chain started in Palo Alto and now has 3 locations. Redwood City is the latest and they finally have a decent space to sit and enjoy the lovely bread. The croissant, and pain au chocolat are out of this world. They both are based on layer pastries, and Colette nails this. Crispy on the outside, soft and chewy on the inside. Other pastries based on crispy layers also do really well like Raspberry Cream Cheese. Now the price. Each bread is typically above $5. Ridiculous pricing for a piece of bread Id say. But simply speaking, there is no equal in the Bay Area. So I still give it 5 stars. So happy that there are more locations and longer store hours to enjoy. Will be returning as frequent as possible.
Love this cozy cafe, they are friendly with many fresh pastry options. They also serve eggs and avocado and other type of hot breakfasts.
The best pastry shop in Northern California in terms of coffee, pastries, interiors and exteriors, and, most importantly, wife satisfaction!
A lovely facility serving Collettes fabulous product. We have been fans of mademoiselle Collette since Debra opened her patisserie in Menlo Park. Its too quality and could compete in Paris. But as a restaurant Meno Park was too small. This location is beautiful and spacious (in comparison). The brunch was very good - eggs perfectly poached and a wonderfully balanced hollandaise on in my case a croissant. Portions are reasonable which for me isnt really quite enough but plenty for my wife. This is about quality not quantity. Do try it, you wont be disappointed.
Good but not as good as pamplemousse. Croissants are excellent but not the best in the bay area.
Everything is delicious, but the croissants are absolutely incredible 😍
Hands down the best bread, sandwiches and pastry in Bay Area. Keep up the good work guys👍🏻
Wonderful atmosphere, tasty food, real espresso, friendly staff
Best almond croissants on the planet!
Wonderful croissant benedict and cappuccino. The pastry display makes my eyes bug out, and will probably make your kids go nuts.
Desserts were heavenly. Hot chocolate is intensely rich.
Reminded me of being back in Paris sitting at a cafe outside!
Delicious pastries with a fresh taste.
Service and food has changed. Not what it was.
So yummy. My favorites are the chocolate Almond Croissant and the quiche.
Great coffee, art on the coffee could be improved 😃😀
Good french pastries and good coffee
Yum
Go for the chocolate almond croissant.
Excellent authentic French bakery
Really Glgood food, but a tad expensive for what you receive.
Amazing Lattes :)
I like it
Delicious
Amazing quality
Amazing croissant
Reminds me of Paris 💖
Try all the pastries!
Impeccable!!
