Sports Basement has always been my go to for anything I need for biking, hiking, snowboarding and running. They have the most up to date items. Everyone here is pretty helpful and knowledgeable. I came to buy a snowboard and the employee had a lot of recommendations for my type of board I needed. He was very knowledgeable. I love coming here for events to and their basementeer sales!! And I love saving that extra 10% for being a member!!!

This is the biggest sports store Ive ever been in by far. They have everything. Good to great quality brands in swimming, skiing, camping, outdoor wear, bicycles, skateboards, shoes, helmets, baseball and much more. Youll need at least an hour there to figure out what you want to buy because youll get distracted with other things you want but didnt go there for.

Good quality and price competitiveness. I can make easy decisions by purchase in store here. It always reduces my time costs of comparison among different stores or online dealers. The membership is also kinda value of money. I choose to donate to AHA. Hope it helps.

Recently worked w/ Tyler C in the bike department. I brought in my 12 year old mountain bike for hydraulic brake fix, tires & tubes. Tyler C helped guide me towards proper solutions when my brake pistons proved defeated, and made sure the process was enjoyable. Highly recommended.

Huge store with great gear and excellent staff! I needed a few things during my ride and they quickly took care of everything I needed.

1st Visit hard to find an employee. When I family did it was great. 2nd visit couldnt find an employee when I finally did he was helping a guest. I know they are very thorough with their explanations so I just wanted to ask a quick price question. Refused to answer and so I left since I couldnt get a price on what I needed. Nice stuff, well versed staff, but simply not enough people for such a massive store. Reminds me of Wal-Mart.

We came in to research bikes for our 12 year old son. Mike helped us and was extremely thoughtful and thorough in getting the right fitting bike. Although we didn’t originally plan to purchase on that day, we felt very informed after working with Mike and decided to get the bike. Our son is very happy with it, thank you Mike!

Had a great experience recently with the bike mechanics at Sports Basement. Even though they had issues with their suppliers in securing parts they were still able to help me source all of my own parts. When issues arose as they often can, they were quick to make it right. They were able to hook me up with a loaner bike for the weekend and when I returned with the correct parts they slapped them on and had me out the door in no time. They happily honored my 50% off labor because I purchased the bike there which made the experience even less painful. I highly recommend Joe and the rest of the team at the Redwood City sports basement to take care of any of your cycling needs. If you’re lucky, you may even find yourself on the receiving end of some good hearted humor regarding your injured manhood from a recent crash that landed you there in the first place.Cheers,

Awesome service team! We came in to try to quickly get good insoles for our son so he could play in an upcoming soccer tournament while recovering from growing pains. Ben could tell right away we were trying to solve a complex situation and called Adam who was on his day off. Even on his day off, Adam patiently listened to our sons symptoms, the different solutions we were trying out, and came up with a thoughtful, step-by-step approach. We left feeling like we got started with a great start to complement his PT and recovery regiment!

I went for a five day to backpack in Yosemite, I didn’t have any of the right gear and I went to Sports Basement in Redwood City and i was amazed how big the store was and the variety of items it had. Not only that but the staff was great! I didn’t have a clue on what to get and one of the staff members came to ask if I needed help. I definitely recommend this place!

I was interested in a Thule car hitch platform rack, and Joe went out of his way even performing a minor modification to the rack to get it to fit my car, and then helped me assemble and install it to make sure everything was perfect. I could not have procured this rack without any lesser level of service and so I am so thankful for Joes expertise and willingness to take some chances to make it all work for me. Above and beyond.

Typically have good experiences shopping here and all the sports basement locations. However yesterday when I went to return an item yesterday I dealt with a rude cashier. Wasnt greeted, I had to initiate my purpose for returning my item. When I was asked for receipt and I said no they sounded annoyed and said well do you have a membership and I said yes and they said annoyed again, well what is your email address. Also was only one other person working the registers on a weekend.

I am not frequent reviewer; I tend to only write something if I had a very good experience or a terrible one. With Sports Basement, it was happily the former. and I came home telling my wife that I had the best customer experience in years at Sports Basement. Needing new cleats for my bike pedals, I walked into the bike area and Alex jumped into action, not only finding the right cleat but installing them on my shoes without any prompting on my part all while showing me how to do it myself next time. As it turns out, Id worn down my pedals enough that when I returned home and tried clipping in with the new cleats, one of them wasnt working correctly. So back to Alex I went and his look of concern was soon replaced by a determination to make all necessary tweaks to get things right which he did in about five minutes.Im sure that Alex had other ways to spend his time, but you wouldnt know it from his focus on getting me squared away. Ive always liked Sports Basement, but they now have a customer for life. Many thanks Alex.

One of the biggest store in the bay area with lots of product selections.Always friendly staff that are very knowledgeable in their departments and carry great products for backpacking, cycling, and more. I am closer to Sunnyvale and Campbell locations, but would make the drive to this store when Im hunting for something the other stores dont carry.

We bought our bike at SB which comes with a 6 month warranty. The guys were great at helping us to check to see if there was any rim damage from flat tire and show us how to change and use the prana valve which is new to us. Great customer service.

This is our Go To spot for: snowboard/ski gear, baseball gear, weight equipment (minimal), bike gear, camping, and a HUGE selection of clothes. I love going into Sports Basement! The entire team is awesome to work with and the prices and selection are fantastic.You could conceivably get all your basic needs from Sports Basement. Theyve got all the basic life necessities there- shelter, clothing, and foo.

My guess is that this is the largest sports basement in the Bay, with the Berkeley branch coming in second. Love spending time here browsing gear and getting inspiration for activities with the kids. Staff is super friendly and theres some soft seating if folks in your party need somewhere to chill and wait.

Sportsbasement to the rescue, we had the car packed and ready to go . I borrowed my friends bike rack and when I went to throw on my ebike the rack wouldn’t fit the bike . So we went to sports basement and found a high quality one and the bike shop person assembled it for us within 45 min and didn’t even charge . He even showed me how the rack works and how to use the bike locks . As we headed to Tahoe I couldn’t stop thinking about how awesome sports basement is and the customer service is second to none . Its been a great experience for my family and me at Sports Basement in Redwood City. We individually want different things from swim equipment to tennis racquets to bikes. The staff there is always friendly and willing to help with anything we needed.In challenging times is when you can tell how customer-centric a place like Sports Basement is. Back in January, I wanted to purchase a mountain but it wasnt in stock so I placed an order for it with a down payment. The expected date of arrival for the bike kept being pushed back due to covid. Tyler Hansen, the bike shop manager there was always responsive and communicative with me when I checked in. I actually changed the order to a different bike model and Tyler was more than willing to help me with that. The day the bike arrived, Tyler sent me an email titled Good news! your bike is here! Mixed experience with ski boots fitting at the store today. I came in looking to get a good pair of ski boots that fit well since Ive had problems with rental boots in the past. It started out great as I was immediately greeted by a friendly staff in the ski boots section. He was very patient and started explaining what I should look for in a pair of ski boots, difference between different boots and gave me a ton of useful information.However, halfway through another staff came over and started helping me instead since the the first guy was busy with another customer. He was terrible. He barely explained anything to me and just want to rush me to make a decision based on what feels best. I ended up leaving because I was not happy.The store itself looks great and I just hope they make better decision about who to hire! It could have been a great experience but was ruined because of inconsistent customer experience

Open your restrooms for your customers! You allow people to try clothes and shoes on, yet you tell your customers to go to another store for a restroom. We buy items to try and support this store, driving from daly city, yet you close your restrooms. Covid will be around forever, figure out a plan to do this safely like all the other stores and restaurants. Quit being lazy.

Tiffany was at the door of the store when I arrived, She was checking temperatures. She asked what I was looking for. When I told her, she said, wait right here, I will go and get it for you. (I am walking with a cane. New hip) She brought it back and we ended up having a jolly conversation about travel as I looked at a cardigan sweater that is perfect for travel (thinking i will be able to travel sometime this year.) We also found some perfect clothing we needed, and everything was such a great deal with the extra 10% off. This particular store (well sports basement in general really are great) is amazing. The staff seem to genuinely wish to be as helpful as possible. For example, I went in searching for a bike rack part yesterday and the person in the bike shop helped me to find the part online. He also showed me a way I could do a diy fix. He could have easily just said they didn’t have the part I was looking for but he chose to be extra helpful and nice. He then proceeded to help me find a child bike seat whereas many bike experts may find this to be beneath them. I’ve had other experiences in their bike shop where the maintenance I received exceeded my expectations. How did they find such awesome employees?I’ve purchased a spectrum from SB-from expensive road bikes and other equipment to simple parts and socks, and the staff always treats me with respect and dignity as they seek to genuinely be helpful. Kudos to SB for selecting and treating teammates in a way that fosters this type of customer experience!

This place is hands down the best place to shop for sporting goods in San Francisco. The building is a huge warehouse filled with discounted gear for almost any sporting activity, all the North Face gear you can dream of, the staff is friendly & helpful and the location is perfect (right by Chrissy Field).

I love Sports Basement in Redwood City. The merchandise is high quality and the workers there are super friendly. You can join the membership and get a 10% discount. You can also take sports classes there too. But right now its all on zoom. They have excellent yoga classes.

I love this store! I went in there to look at underwater music players. Steve was immediately helpful! When he found out my previous player had failed, he said I could get a new one and get a refund for the prior player, even though I had purchased it 2 yrs prior! Amazing customer service! Everyone else who works there has been very helpful as well.

How did it take me so long to finally come into this location, what a gem! Great floor plan with really nice associates (hi Sam!), I will definitely come back. Selection was very good and spaced well, they took my temp before I went in, that makes me feel safer and appreciate their due diligence for the safety of their shoppers.

Update! We went back, of course! My littlest one needed new runners and kids wanted to try out la crosse. I don’t know much about la crosse, but the workers certainly gave us an education. And boy were they more patient than I was while my kids were trying out the different la crosse sticks. We were informed what kind of minimal gear we would need for just playing in the yard to start out. We found a guy who gave us comparisons between tennis, baseball and la crosse which was helpful as we are primarily a baseball family with a touch of tennis and golf. So fun to be around multi sport players who are well versed in gear. We left with a bit of gear to try and some sneakers of fastness. Make sure to ask all your questions of awkwardness when trying something new, as there is loads of wisdom in those walls.Original review:I had never been to this location. As it turns out, it’s close to several shops I frequent. We were able to find running shoes for my daughter, myself and my big foot with size 15😍 some from the sale area.The try on rooms were clean. There was plenty of attendants around the huge store for all of our questions. I was surprised what a great baseball and softball section they had. We enjoyed looking in several sections we didn’t plan as so many things looked inviting. We will be back!

Just got a newly released style North Face down puffy jacket normal price $210 marked down to a 100. I guess thats what happens when you have 2 weeks of 100ﾟ weather. Anyway love this place theyre definitely up on the current styles, all the employees are very helpful, theyre following Covid protocol. The place is huge and they have pretty much anything you want.

Huge sports supermarket with tons of equipment for seemingly any sporting activity. They also have a bike shop and curbside service.

Every time I visit this store Im impressed with how helpful and cheerful all the staff are despite all the challenges with the pandemic. Great work!

While I am a member and enjoy Sports Basement, i thought i would leave a review that will hopefully be used to improve their overall service. My daughter and I shopped the store this past Sunday. The store was busy. Staffing was thin for the amount of customers. We found what we needed and went to purchase our stuff. The line had 30 customers waiting. I went to ask if there was any other area to check out, and one of the staff at the register said no and pointed to the back of the line I let them know this was not realistic to wait for what looked like a long time. We got in line and an employee, i am assuming the manager, came up to me and asked what i would like to discuss. I told him i did not ask for a manager, but since he was here, my feedback is the line is way to long and waiting 20 minutes to check out is not in anyone best interest. He gave me a bit of attitude in his response saying they would do their best to get us checked out as soon as possible. My point is this: fix your POS process Sports Basement. You are grown up now so make your customer experience outstanding. There are too many other options for buyers and you know this. I like your store and want to come back. Just not in December.

The service here cannot be beat. I purchased a pair of snowboard boots in early December of 2018 (still under mfr warranty), which I rode for about a season and a half before one of the BOA knobs snapped.I walked into the store with my receipt and the boots and they took a quick look at the damage (maybe to assess whether they were abused) and did an even exchange for a brand new pair of boots from the 2020 model year.The team in the snow department was attentive, knowledgeable and friendly - making sure I tried on the replacement boots before completing the exchange and even heat molding the liners for me, despite being an exchange rather than a new sale.

If ANYONE needs snowboard equipment, super knowledgeable boot fitting and customization, he is a rockstar veteran rider who totally understands snowboarding evolution and especially where old fogey riders like me have come from . He was familiar with my old equipment, managed my pain points, and knew exactly which way to direct me. He got me fully re-outfitted and even got me off of my 20 year old Santa Cruz (which I love...but its time). GO. SEE. HIM.

People working at Sports Basement are all great. I was looking at Hooka shoes and Emma came to help out and explain the differences in different models and helped pick out the right ones for me. While trying on shoes 2 other employees stopped by to share their experience with the shoes. They are all very friendly and helpful.Well, also you can’t beat the prices either.

This place works if youre not willing to compare prices. Sports Authority closed because people are able to fine what they need elsewhere and this place is nothing special. Definitely not much of a sports fan shop either so go here if youre trying to do something, not watch something.

My new favorite place to go for outdoor equipment shopping. They have so many varieties of products and sell in good price especially if you’re a member. And since it’s just opened, signing up for membership is free. There are also sport and camping equipment available for rent. Plus, weekend shuttle to places (I don’t quite remember exactly) like Tahoe for skiing but basically everything all in one place.
