We have been taking our Volvos to Karl for at least 25 years, and he has gone the extra mile for us so many times.Years ago when I was having trouble with repetitive strain injuries to my arms, he shipped my cars steering mechanism to the factory in Sweden to have it modified, and didnt charge me a cent for his efforts. And he was the second person we called, after my insurance company, when my car was totaled in an accident. Karl is scrupulously honest, a rare trait these days. It is wonderful in this world where so many things can go wrong, to have someone you can always depend on. Thank you, Karl!

My car is 20 years old but in good condition, these last several years thanks to Nordic Motors. Before any work starts, they give me a call to explain what they are planning to do, and discuss whether it is worth it, given the age of the car, or necessary because of safety.

Carl is THE most honest mechanic! He will tell you what is recommended, and what he really thinks is necessary. I have a 2008 Volvo XC90. It’s getting up there. Carl has always been friendly and punctual and I never feel like I am being taken advantage of. I will not take my car anywhere else!

Carl is a very honest man, he is always smiling and is very positive as well, not like your average garage shop owner. Must be some of the best mechanics in the Bay Area, specializes in Swedish brands Saab and Volvo. Carl is very professional and personal at the same time. Ive been coming here for different reasons 5-6 times and always feel well accommodated.

We take our Volvo and Saab to Nordic. Carl and his team are excellent in their professionalism and the work that they do. They are very knowledgeable. I know I can always get an honest answer on a certain repair job (rather than other mechanics that simply are looking to make your money). This is the only place I trust to do work on our Swedish cars. The prices are very reasonable, I highly recommend it.

This shop was recommended by a friend who has used them for many years and was very satisfied with their knowledge and honesty. Took the Volvo in for a shifting problem, I spoke with Carl over the phone regarding the issue and discussed the error codes with him so I could get a sense of what this repair might cost. I took it in and it was repaired promptly and runs great. It should be noted that another mechanic at another shop had misdiagnosed the problem and quoted me $1200 more than Nordic motors. Fortunately I went to Nordic saved money and it’s fixed. Thanks Carl.

Ive used Nordic Motors for two cars now. I used to have a Saab convertible and now have an 18 year-old Volvo. Theyve been great about letting me know which things really need fixing now, which I can wait on, and possible ways I can save some money. I work at a car dealership and Im particular about who services my cars. Nordic is great.

Carl will take good care of you and will even advise against doing work if he thinks its an unnecessary cost. He explains it well and is very patient. And unlike a lot of garages, they treat women with the same respect as men, which, unfortunately, seems to be rare.

Wonderful. We have been taking our Volvos here for 30 years. The quality of service is superlative, and Carl is just such a good person. He inspected a used Volvo we were thinking of buying for free (and told us not to buy it because it had some weird electrical modification). I cannot say enough good things about this place, and how often do people love their mechanics? If you have a Saab or a Volvo and want peace of mind that you are getting really good service and from a really nice person who charges totally fairly then come here.

Exceptionally professional & competent. My car is a 27 year old classic Saab, they sourced the part that I needed, ordered and installed it. Now were working on planned repairs/restoration. Carl and the team are super. I was referred by another client, now Im referring others.

Carl and his team investigated a strange sound coming from my front headlight. It was hard to reproduce so it took a couple back and forths to figure out what was going on. Turns out it was related to a repair I had a few months back. I told him Id contact the place that did the repair since they guarantee their work and the part alone cost $350.When I come to pick up my car, I ask how much I owe him. He says no charge. I bet they spent upwards of an hour diagnosing the issue, but Carl still refused my payment.Well Carl, Im not technically your customer yet, but you can be sure to see me again the next time my car needs service.

I recive very bad Service one of the worst service known to man kind I paid cash money up front before the work was even done.I brought the car back twice because the transmission they replace only last (3) daysI Was in San Francisco with my 4 Grand Kids and the car started smoking..What and Night MARE WITH Nordic Motor Never go and get your car fix here

Carl and team are great, honest and trustworthy- all things necessary in a superb auto place, and rarely, if ever, found anywhere. The hospitality is awesome too (as a midwesterner, I disdain the lack of this in the bay). I even travel all the way from West Oakland to drop my Volvo off and bicycle back/caltrain/bart home if need be.
