Making an appointment online for the same day was easy and the initial tech who took several test was great at explaining what was going on. However when saw the optometrist she didnt explain anything about the retinal scan picture I paid extra for and did a rushed exam, didnt even explain what my new prescription was until I had to ask. After when dealing with the admin staff, they tried to charge my an extra $70 for services my insurance covered and I had to push several times to explain what my benefits covered and have them call the insurance company to finally agree that it was covered then she tried to push selling contacts lenses on me again to use more benefits which I was not interested after all of this. Wont be returning next year for another exam.

Fast. Accurate. On-time. Because of youth and level of speed, some things can, potentially, get left unaware and unattended.

My husband and I made two new patient appointments as our eye Dr. retired. I was told the office would email me new patient forms to fill out. I called again the following week and was told they were working on them. I called again just days before and was told they were working on it. Cancelled both appointments. Im sure doctors would not be happy if they were aware of what is going on at the front desk.

Our family recently moved to Redondo Beach and I have just have to say that I am very pleased to be writing this review today. Great doctor, very professional and well informed staff that seems to have all the state of the art equipment. My son was referred by his specialist to this office to get a new pair of glasses since his eye surgery a few months ago. The atmosphere here is very warm and personable. This is a very busy office, but I never felt rushed. The first lady I interacted after his initial exam was very concise in her explanation of our options and pricing as it concerns to our vision plan. A great selection of frames as well. It has been a great experience! We look forward to returning in the near future for myself and my husbands exam.

This was an enjoyable experience choosing my glasses. They have a wide selection of styles and brands. You will definitely find something you like. They are patient and knowledgeable. Could not ask for more.

I was thrilled to have an appt today.I sent the necessary insurance, picture of the frames we wanted that morning .We looked at 5 glasses and could have taken any of them . We chose the one that fit the best. It happened to be the cheapest because of the insurance.Cannot wait to pick them up in 2 weeks.

Dr. Hansen is such a great doctor, and the entire staff was wonderful. I felt everyone spent a lot of time with me, answering my questions, explaining test results, etc. I am extremely satisfied and will definitely be visiting Dr. Hansen for my future optometrist needs in the future.

I have been coming here for three years now. I cannot say enough good things! Everything is absolutely state of the art. I have been to other optometrists before moving to Redondo Beach, and none have come close to Dr. Hansen or the staff here. They have the newest, high tech equipment. My exams are always incredibly thorough. Dr. Hansen is wonderful and I feel like he really listens and cares about your concerns. I will not trust my eyes with anyone else! They have a great selection of frames. The frames are high end, but, of course, if you want to purchase your frames elsewhere, they will put the lenses in for you. I also want to give a special shout out to Angie! She could not have been more patient with me during my last visit! She took so much time and care in helping me select my frames and letting me try on practically every pair of frames they had in store! This was recently so it was during the pandemic. This means that she had to sterilize every single pair I touched! She had endless patience with me and my indecisiveness! And, as far as covid concerns, they have so many safety precautions in place. I felt totally safe and comfortable,

When I initially called I mentioned I was looking to fill my glasses prescription. I was told I didn’t need an appointment just come on in. I showed up the next day to a locked door. A tall blonde opened the door and asked if she could help me (standing in the crack of the door). I thought I must have come when they were closing. I mentioned I was looking to get glasses. She seemed to be annoyed to be having this conversation and spoke sternly to me that I needed an appointment. I told her I had called and was told told to drop by. She said no so I told her I’d call and left. I did return on my appointment day and time to a locked door as I expected, only to have three separate people come to the door and ask me if I had an appointment and say someone will be be with you. Three people and only one customer in the shop. After ten minutes standing outside the tall blonde, (I continue to refer to her this way as she never introduced herself or told me her name) stood up from the desk and came to let me in. She told me to look around and leave the glasses I touch on the counter so they could clean them. From that point I just wondered around with no assistance. I listened to one of the ladies having a fee disagreement with a customer and he left not too happy. I was really hoping she was not going to complain about him while I was there. She only committed about it not being her week. After a couple of questions I felt like I was pulling teeth so I just thanked them and left. I was interested in a Tom Ford pair but the comment from the tall girl “you’ll have to buy it before I can order” was understandable but the tone wasn’t. I normally don’t show up to appts dressed down in workout gear as I know first impressions can sometimes cause bad customer service but I did not dress that way both times to warrant such bad customer service.

First time at Advanced Eyecare. Since Covid, I haven’t been out much, I’m on the high risk scale, but I was in desperate need of new glasses! My prescription was overdue since March and I had been putting it off because of covid. As I arrived, checkin at door, was asked to wait in car until called, once called, temperature taken, asked to wash hands, then into exam room. I didn’t see any other patients there as I came in. Everything disinfected, chair and equipment wiped down in front of me. Everything went super smoothly! I didn’t feel in any way compromised. I was able to select frames, try them on, didnt take long, picked 6, choose 2!All said and done, 10/10!

Liz, the optician, always selects the best style of frames for me and I am never disappointed. Dr. Hansen is definitely one of the best eye docs around! My appointment made on internet did not work and I was turned away. I had to make a new appointment. The stuff offered explanations but uttered no apology. The technician asked me about the use of some tests but failed to warn me about additional cost of these. Other technician added the cost of making a groove on the lens. I dont think I paid for the groove before although the frame was similar to what I have chosen this time.I was very much disappointed as the facility used to be an excellent before. My good and previous visit there was in December of 1919. Management change?

I have been trying to confirm an appointment I booked online. Never got a confirmation or acknowledgment. I have been calling for a couple of days and I get a voice mailbox or a text asking about what I need. So frustrating!

Great overall experience. The doctors and staff are very professional and inviting. The office is beautifully designed and organized. I just wish their kids frames selection had more options to try on. I’ve been to both their Redondo and Manhattan Beach offices, and they’re both great.

I am so happy I found the Advanced Eye Care Center of Redondo Beach. From the moment i walked in I was greeted warmly and got checked in by a young man name Austin. After I finished all the paper work I was immediately taken back for some test by Kimberly. She explained every test to me and why it was being done and answered all my questions. She then took me to the exam room where met with Dr. Wong. She was so kind and really explained to me everything that was going on with my vision. So now the fun part, it turned out I needed new glasses and Patrice was ready to help me choose the perfect pair. There are SO MANY NICE PAIRS OF GLASSES!! I had so many choices to choose from and Patrice gave me her honest opinion which I found very refreshing. Liz (manager) also gave me her input and i ended up choosing a frame from FACEAFACE (fancy aha). Overall my experience was amazing and i cant wait to pick my glasses up!! :D

The best eye care center I have ever been to! From the minute I entered the store I was extremely happy with the service I received. A knowledgeable assistant helped me choose my new frames and advised on styles that suited me. I had a tight deadline and true to their word my new glasses were ready 4 days early - fabulous service - and I love my new glasses!

So happy I found this eye doctor through other reviews. They lived up to the hype. Dr. Hansen is great-I had been used to a routine, impersonal eye exam before going here but he takes the time every year (I’ve been a patient for 4 years now) to review my results, discuss options for correction, and talk about how best to deal with my vision changing as I get older (just starting to notice problems with small print). He also noticed eczema on an eyelid and reviewed possible causes and how to care for it. The rest of the team is equally attentive and always friendly and helpful. Finally, appointments are always on time-never have to wait for more than 5-10 minutes at most, at least to have your exam started. Highly recommend!

I continued to have a bad experience at Del Amo Optometry...so I found Advanced Eyecare on Yelp...and WOW!!! Clean....great equipment... fantastic staff...and killer glasses selection. Tom Ford...Persol....Nike...etc....Clean, organized, thourough, cutting edge technology for exams.Will eventually take our 4 kids and wife for their exams.Would highly recommend

Took my husband in for an emergency, had a metal shaving in his eye. Everyone was great. We have no insurance but their pricing seamed more than fair.

Dr. Mike Hansen has been my optometrist for many years, and I couldn’t be happier with him and his staff. They’re always careful, professional, and friendly, and their Redondo Beach and Manhattan Beach offices are beautiful, comfortable, clean, and equipped with the latest eyecare technology. Dr. Hansen never seems hurried during examinations, and he takes the time to fully answer all of my questions. His custom-designed contact lenses correct my terrible 20/700 vision to 20/20 or even 20/15! I have referred several friends and relatives to Dr. Hansen, and they’re all just as pleased as I am. This is excellent personalized care, and I wouldn’t consider going anywhere else. Highest possible recommendation!

Previously had great experience with this company. The doctors I saw were nice, asked questions and were responsive to any concerns or questions I had. In addition, the staff was very nice. However, to walk in today and find in my mail a bill saying I owed them for images taken almost a year ago (July 2017) has left me a bit unhappy with this company. It isnt a matter of how much money it is, its the fact that their employee made the mistake of not teling me when they checked me out that I had a balance due. Then to send me a bill almost a year later, I feel like you should eat the cost as it was your error. If you do decide to use this company, please be sure to ask them if you owe anything and double check with them youre all squared away. Clearly the bookkeeping leaves something to be desired.

Borderline unethical. I asked for a written prescription and was told that they dont give them out ever. Its a patient’s right to get a copy of their prescription for both contact lens and glasses.They do this to discourage you from buying contacts from other vendors. Don’t let them tell you it’s against their policy; it’s the law to give you a copy of your prescription.
