🇦🇷 ARGENTINAExcerpt from Eat the World Los Angeles:If it is your first time to the Manhattan Beach Blvd. location of El Gaucho, you might find the experience a little intimidating. Around lunchtime on any given day, the market is abuzz with customers ordering lunches to go and many people dining in, grocery shoppers, empanada preparation and big pots full of cooking ingredients.
A treasure trove of South American food, spices, and deli meats can be found in this Argentinian store. In addition to the market, they also have food you can order to eat. They have various sandwiches and empenadas to choose from along with coffee. The coffee is outstanding if youre in need of caffeine. The skirt sandwich I ordered isnt anything special, but is certainly your traditional Argentinian sandwich that will fill your belly. The empenadas were tasty, but certainly not the best available. Overall there is more to like than to dislike at this homey market.
The food is great (albeit expensive) but I walked in yesterday with no mask after not seeing a sign on the door. I’m pregnant and I’ve been fully vaccinated since April 7th. A female employee yelled at me across the store in front of everyone. I was there to buy $60 worth of meat and was appalled that that’s how I was treated by a staff member. I would have found it more appropriate for her to walk over and let me know quietly that they’re not following CDC, federal, and state guidelines. I’ll think twice about choosing to shop here again based on my experience.
The best Empanadas and lomito Sandwich and the CHIMICHURRI delicious 😋
Great quality and excellent guest service. I love this place.
Great marinated meats for the grill.Holiday Hours: Open Memorial Day but closing early at 4:30pm (called to confirm)
Very happy,,,, tender meat,, very cold soft drinks clean place, and exelent customer service number one place to eat
My way to go for Argentinian food, treats, meet, ect l. in the neighborhood. Everything is delicious!
Great place to get South American groceries! Mainly Argentinian products - all those delicious dulce de leche pastries, different kinds of meats, and various canned goods and spices! The market also serves empanadas by the piece, or you can order ahead for bigger quantities. By the way, try their sandwiches, they are good! They are located in a plaza, so it’s shared parking, which gets pretty busy.
Great authentic produce from Argentina and south America! great meat quality, and other Argentinian food.
We often go for the empanadas, extremely tasty and properly priced... but they have MATAMBRE, and great mortadela with pistachios...GREAT place, but often crowded.
Very friendly staff and great selection of products especially those from Argentina. The prices are a bit high but of course those are imported items. Purchase some fresh chimichurri sauce and alfajores. Ill be back for more.
Really good empanadas. Like scary good. So glad I found this place.

Been purchasing meat here for years. So GOOD! Pretty pricey, but worth it. I wont buy the Inca Cola here though, Id rather make another stop and get it for less. The empanadas are delicious but I need five to fill me, they are so tiny.
The only place we go for empanada wraps!
Good costumer service friendly community and delicious food
I love this place from the empanadas to the croquettes. Honestly the any of the steak dishes are killer and im not even a steak person, my mouth is watering just thinking about it! The ravioli is a must try in my opinion! You wont be let down.

Great butcher and sundries shop. Been buying my grilling meat here for 20+ years. They also make their own empanadas and other yummy stuff to snack on or eat at their cafe.
Super fresh meats and chiveche yummy! Great service and friendly folks. Tons of parking and the store is very clean. Highly recommend!
One of the worst experiences..i have ever had at a restaurant. I brought my family in for breakfast, 6 of us we ordered sandwiches, coffee etc. A $60 Bill. So we sat down pulled 3 small tables together and ate. 2 people came later to do the same next to us and they been told they cant get the table together cause the game was about to start ( France vs. Belgium). Ridiculous! So 5 min after..the owner or the person in charge came over to tell us he needed our table for the customers..(????) There was only 4 people besides us there. I told him if the other non existing people were clients..what was I? And after the money we spent there?.. I never felt so embarrassed.. humiliated and mad at the same time..i stopped up and left...i will never go back...and hope my also argentinianFriends read this..
I went here to buy meat to grill at home. I purchased, marinated spicy chicken, marinated boneless chicken and marinated thin slicedshort ribs. Super disappointed. The spicy chicken marinate has a real good taste but the actual chicken itself has a weird taste to it. It actually tasted like fish. The marinated chicken was also bad. The chicken tasted weird and the marinate for this wasnt great though. The ribs.... Horrible. The butcher needs to do a better job of slicing them consistently. Most pieces were half inch to an inch thick. Not how they are supposed to be. The taste was bad. I thought I would try this meat market to try some new meat but I will go back to LA Fiesta in Lawndale. So far, they set the standard in meats for taste and cuts! I dont know why I even bothered with another meat market. La Fiesta, by far, raised my standard on meat quality and taste. I will never again come back here to purchase meat. 2 stars because at least the good pieces of rib meat had an ok taste and the spicy chicken marinate had a good taste to it.
A great place to get some typical argetinian food. The empanadas are served warm out of the oven and are very good, they also serve a variety of sandwiches and baked goods to eat in or take out.The meat market offers a good selection of meats and cuts
Food is good, little pricey but leaves you full. There cold sandwiches are worth the price.
Sandwiches @ $7.99 are a great deal and good quality. Other things like Matambre at $15/lb too expensive! Nevertheless, most likely best prices around the area.
So far so good normally the meat empanadas are good but today I got really tough meat got a chicken one much better and was looking for napkins not available had to ask for one what is the problem they charge whatever they want for their food but they are saving on napkinsAll around food is not bad .
Anything you try at this place its amazing. And of course the service is excellent.
I love shopping at El Gaucho. Their meat selection and prices is great. LOVE, LOVE their empanadas. Weve been going there for many years... ALWAYS GREAT!!!

Good prices, good size in every meal, tasty fast-food, a lot of parking.
Meats at this supermarket are awesome! It is good for BBQ.
Excellent place for authentic Argentine meats and food from all of Latin America.
Fabulous authentic Argentine market with an attached grill. Good empanadas, tamales, and a but filet mignon sandwich to die for. A local hangout for our local Argentinian community where you can eat in and watch a soccer game or take home. Nice people and reasonable prices.
Loved this place, empenadas are wonderful here running under $2. Other restaurants need to up their game to this stores empenadas. Large selection of Brazilian and Mexican groceries that cant be found at many other locations. Full meat market. This place is a gem.
One of my favorite restaurants ever. Empanadas and sandwiches are great, lots of good stuff from Argentina.

Great empanadas, great deli and sandwiches. I just found out they show some soccer games on their big screen TV. So you can grab lunch and watch Barcelona playing, awesome.
What a gem of a find on Manhattan Beach Blvd. Try the Alfahores, its one of the best Ive had. Its better than being in Lima, Peru. The salsa and empanadas are must try.
Great selection of Latin American ingredients. So far the only place in the LA area where I found wrappers for empanadas.
Great carne aside for your grilling needs. They also have a little restaurant that sells very tasty empanadas.

El Gaucho Meat Market has been offering delicious products from Argentina and South America since 1994.Jose Jordan and his mother Gilda took me there earlier today for empanadas and they tasted Great!Furthermore, their meats are cut in their very best Gaucho Style:pork, lamb, cold cuts and imported cheeses are their main specialty. They also can sell cooked and raw pork and carry the best carne asada, chicken marinade and argentinian bbq around the south bay area.I really enjoyed my argentinian restaurant experience and so will you!Thank you Antonio and Abel for the Fantastic Service.Sincerely yours,Howard Paul ShoreJose JordanGildaCustomers/HPS
