I bought a Q6 Edge 3 power chair in June of 2020. For the first 3 months they did not return my phone calls. Finally I reached some one who said they did not service my area. I told them we had a contract due to my purchase. I asked for help connecting the bluetoodth to my chair. I complained about bent parts, a cup holder that would not stay on the chair, I complained about missing parts and I was told they would call back. These requests went on for a year without them sending anyone to perform this task. I called there Customer Care Reprresentitive at the Corprate Office. They assured me these things would be taken care of before the contract expired. Nothing happened. They did replace a seating cushon upon a Doctors order but did not deliver for approximately four months, going into a new fiscal year so that my insurance charged me over $300.00 to buy it. They mailed me another part and told me to install it. I did not have the ability to do it and the contract said they would service the chair at my home. This purchase was close to $30,000 with a total of $2800 out of pocket. So many calls. Save youself a a lot of trouble and go somewhere else.
I am very pleased with my experience with NSM. From communication with corporate to dealing with the branch office here in Redding, they were great! Eric at the front desk was very professional and courteous both in person and on the phone. The gal who handled my insurance was even able to make things work when I wasnt sure if my insurance would cover one of the upgrades I wanted. Lee who handles all the technical aspects including measurement, fitting adjustments and service is the best. He was great on the phone and listened to what I was saying and I could tell he knew what he was talking about. In past experience if you dont get someone to help who is in a chair personally you have to talk them into doing what you want even though you are the one with the experience living in a wheelchair. Lee wasnt like that at all. On top of that they will push you into buying a product that they have the highest margins with. I really felt like these guys wanted me in a product I was comfortable with and had experience in regardless of their margins and that Lee was super in tune with my past experience and dedicated to getting this chair right. I really appreciated that because as will all high end custom wheelchairs once they build it there is no going back. I live 30 minutes out of town and he was always offering to drive out to my house which is a company policy nation wide. When youre in a chair it isnt always the easiest thing to get in the car and go to a shop. I can imagine for the elderly this would be very helpful as well. Lee was very approachable and easy to talk to. He was very honest about everything and took time to make sure and get the measurements right. The company even sent updates to keep me in the loop which was awesome. Navigating insurance and getting things from the design to the building etc. takes time and involves lots of people. Having email and phone updates at each step was awesome. I highly recommend Lee and NSM to anyone! Thanks guys! You earned my business in the future as well.
