John is an awesome mechanic. He built us a Bear Cat 55 from the first nut to the last bolt. It ran like a champ and extremely quiet. It became even quieter after the “break in oil” was changed. It only had 12 hours on it, and sadly, our pontoon boat capsized on Shasta Lake May 21, 2020. The boat, and motor were a total loss. The compassion John showed when we told him was so sincere. He is honest beyond belief. We are getting a NEW pontoon boat with a Mercury 90HP, and John will be the only one that we would trust to do any oil change or anything else. My husband and I have been around him during the switching out of the motor, and we consider him a trusted friend.

I have an older Mercury 100 HP outboard that was giving me some trouble. I took it to Johns shop for a tune up and to try to fix some of the problems. John worked and worked on that motor until he found the problem and fixed it! His prices were reasonable and he stands by his work 100%. Now she runs like a champ! I was so excited I almost ran it right out of gas on the lake this weekend! I highly recommend John and Zemp Marine!

John Zemp at Zemp 4-Cycle Marine is the REAL DEAL. He is an excellent boat mechanic and dedicated to customer service. We had him do some engine work on our cabin cruiser and he was fast, thorough and his estimate was accurate and more affordable than all other quotes we received. But what really blew me away is a week later when I called about a lingering condition with the engine, WHILE WE WERE ON THE LAKE, he came out and met us at the boat launch, rode around and assessed and corrected the new condition without additional charge. This is by far the best customer service and dedication to customer satisfaction Ive encountered from anyone anywhere! Give John all your boat business. Hes legit and youre in great hands.

Fixed my boat first time and in less than a day. I had taken my boat to another shop and they failed to address the original problem and kept my boat for almost a month. Made an appointment with Zemp and they had me back on the lake the SAME DAY. Extremely pleased and the price was good . Also let me know of a couple things to watch out for or upcoming service on my older 1998 boat. Tested the boat after I picked up and worked beautifully. If he keeps racking up 5 star reviews you might have to wait in line to see him but its worth the wait.

Bought older bass boat with a Bearcat 55 outboard and although it ran it would not idle properly. I was told by a friend to contact Jon at Zemp 4 Cycle and man was that a hot tip. Jon went over engine and quickly fixed issue even issues I didnt see for an outstanding price. He also works on any 2 stroke or 4 stroke outboard.HIGHLY RECOMMEND
