I am giving three stars because the employees (Gage) were helpful and empathetic.I reserved a truck well over a week in advance for one way. My pick up location was changed three times. I was given an incorrect address for the final pick up.Then I was told my one way reservation, which would have reduced mileage costs, was no longer an option, as this truckHad to be returned to the pick up location. This added $$$ to my move.
Terrible experience do not recommend pay the extra few buck to use Penske. After reserving my 15 footer a week in advance I received an email around 11pm the night prior telling me my pick up and drop off location has changed to a location 45 minutes away from the original booking. The following morning a drive to the new location to pick up the truck and was met with an extremely rude employee to deal with my reservation. After the booking process was started she informed me that they are unable to honor the amount of time that I booked the reservation for. If I could leave zero stars I would.
U-Haul should hire actual employees that are customer service oriented and dont portray a negative attitude. This location might need a new management as it appears for many reason:1. Customer service is mediocre, beside the attitude that you get from the staff behind the counter That seeing you as a burden and interruption to their work more like a customers that have right. Guess what we wont be there dealing with you at the first place if you honor your appointments and deadline2.Please hold that what you get everytime you called. it doesnt matter what time of the day. Like today I called 10 times to get the same message and to stop me from keep ringing the manger answered the phone and told me to hold because she is busy right now, she left the line open 25 min to hung up on me with answering.3. Management: horrible management instead of trying to listen to customers issues she sided with her staff and start attacking that they are busy, they dont have enough stuff to answer the phone and I can cancel...so, if thats the case stop offering services you can not honor till you get your stuffing issues resolved instead of telling your customers you can refuse the service they have paid for. I guess the staff attitude was mainly a reflection of their manager who is not a customer service oriented.Overall, Bad management, Mediocre customer service, Unprofessional behavior, Delay or cancellation of service without notice.I wouldnt recommend this location, I know that sometimes there are no many alternative but if you have other option please go for it.
Never in my life have I received worse customer service than I have with uhaul. Initial setup and pickup was easy enough. I was then told something by my sales associate that was not only simply wrong but ended up costing me hours on the phone trying to fix but also additional hours of drive time for my family. When calling customer service to fix the issue I was met with “sorry but it is what it is” and zero accountability. I would sooner carry my boxes across the state rather than use uhaul again.

The employees (2 of the females) were so rude and very unprofessional. They also need to spray down the inside of their trucks with bug spray or hey try not renting out a truck that has freaking bugs.. They actually need to close the whole place down and spray for bugs and every single truck needs to be sprayed down... Thanks uhaul for the unwanted bugs that people give and get😡🤬😡🤬😡

This site is completely unprofessional. I went to rent a car transport trailer,and drove a hour to get to this location to rent it because in the uhaul website it says available walk in to do paperwork. And was told that a gentleman rented it a day before and brought it back and needed a extension but never went through with the extension. But the lady knows the gentleman and he was coming back. So i went to reserve it and the lady straight told me I dont care what the website says i have the final say on who i rent the uhaul equipment too.
Big rip off, once they have your card . they just bill it with what ever they feel like . I rented a van for one day for $19.95, but they decided to milk my card for $112 dollars . We replaced the gas, but they still decided to bill us $38 dollars for less then 2 gallons of gas . Which we already replaced at the normal $2.75 per gallon. we returned the van around 6 pm after the store closed . returning the key in the drop box . Despite the fact that they had the van for the next day. I was told that our rental was for the day and we did return it that same day They decided to bill us another $19,95 plus $ 10 dollars for insurance . If they did in fact rent out the van the next day I am sure that is illegal. The funny part is I called the next day to inquire about renting the van again and they said they could rent it to me again . Im so happy I decided not to paying $224 dollars for a $19.95 dollar van would have been crazy. This is not reflective of all U-Haul dealers . In the past I have always had good experiences . The problem is with this location
Because they were very professional and very patient with me and still wanted my business. They get my 5 stars for being patient with me and working with me. Highly recommend!
If I could give 0 stars I would. The people that work here are rude (especially the older woman with bleached hair), they clearly don’t even know how to do their job right because they had three trucks come back one morning and all hell broke loose. Waited in the parking lot for 30 minutes for them to move the trucks out of the way so I could leave. Finally I squeezed my way out of my spot and all employees and the one customer just stood in front of my car blocking my way out. I just kept inching forward and they finally moved but not before the lady yelled at me either calling me a name or telling me I’m inpatient (not sure which). Sorry I shouldn’t have to wait for you to figure out how to do your job! Maybe train your employees here a little better or check for competency before hiring. Definitely would recommend going to any U-Haul but this one.
If I could give 0 stars I would!!! How my Father made a reservation for 8am on 8/9/19 to pick up a trailer and the person on duty(most likely the new manager Jessica) & they refused to give this man the trailer reserved for him and made him drive almost 2 hours away. My father is on crutches and recovering from a gun shot wound. Im so disappointed in this store!!! When I was the ASM here we did all in our power to accomadate ALL customers. Never did we out right REFUSE SERVICE!!! IM beyond furious

I don’t recommend this U-Haul in Reading, PA at all. One representative told me drop the U-Haul vehicle off in the morning and I will get charged one day. I listened to what this representative told me. I dropped the U-Haul vehicle off in the early morning and was charged for two days despite being told no to the charge of one day. This U-Haul location states that you can NOT drop vehicles off after business hours and this is false. Honestly, rent a van or a truck from Penske or Enterprise. Fortunately, my company is reimbursing me for my entire move. Renter Beware!
When i went into make a reservation they did not tell me that their is a 100 dollar deposit if i pay cash. Then when i went to set up drop off locstion they sent me to one further from my house they do not listen their communication is terrible would not refer them to anyone

The equipment was brand new, worked great, easy self pickup by using cell phone,same as drop off couldnt get any easier.
The store is usually busy and the staff are nice, but there was one person on the counter and it took time to pick up my truck.
Recently went to location after having a pod for one month, and they rented me the truck and asked me to come back for the pod, left home, packed the truck with some storage items not put into the pod, and when I returned, they would not allow me to rent a hitch to take my u-box home and unpack(which is the point on convenience on these items), and asked me to unpack it at the location. They had to give me a bigger truck, I had to unpack the original truck, unpack my u-box and take it all home. The cherry on top happened the next day. When i originally purchased the u-box, I paid my first month rental fee. They called me the day after pick up and informed me that I was never charged. In all due faith I advised them to charge my card. Indeed Finding that I had already been charged the month before. I contacted these people at least 4 times, each time they informed me someone was to call me back, no call back. The last time I spoke to someone, I finally got somewhere, and the customer service person literally hung up on me 2 times. THIS ISSUE NEEDS TO BE RECTIFIED IMMEDIATELY, IN SOME SORT OF WAY, SO THAT I NEVER HAVE TO DEAL WITH UHAUL AS A WHOLE AGAIN.
Average Uhaul place with kind staff. I wonder if employees work really long shifts because the same person was there when we picked up early and there when we dropped off before closing.
In the last 3 years I have rented trailers to move people, and their motorcycle trailers. Always had good experiences with them. Equipment is maintained and the staff have always been professional.
Surprisingly fast, and staff was knowledgeable and very helpful.

Renters beware!!!Please have the manager look into the illegal schemes that some of the workers are forcing onto their clients. I have been renting u-hauls for over 20 yrs, great company. However it drives me up the wall when you have some locations trying to add frivolous charges onto your bill. The lady who wrote me my receipt was a lovable and honest young lady who was putting her clients before herself, if it wasnt for her I would have had to take my dispute up with my credit card company. It was very cold and she would run outside without a jacket to take care of her clients. She was great. There was an older lady there who was dead set on charging me 1 day for 6 hours use. Stating that if I went over the 6 hrs she would charge me an additional day and wait it doesnt stop there. She would also charge me 50$ for not being able to bring it back. She said that she pays the client that is waiting for the uhaul 50$ for not being able to meet their reserveration. Well first of all dont reserve what you dont have. 2nd of all... STOP IT. You messed with the wrong person this time. I will be putting this information on the internet so all clients will be in the know. Its 29.99 for a 17 foot uhaul...and thats for 24 hr use. The lady who tried to jerk me was mad at the other lady for not overcharging me.... the nerve. Uhaul please investigate this location. You will lose customers with the poor and unethical business practice. BTW ...never pay cash. Because they will screw you. I charge everything. You gonna have to fight me on all fronts before you try to screw me over.Renters beware!!!

**EVERYONE**Record/pics of every inch of the vehicle/equipment before you take and when you return**We took a vehicle and had it in a private parking spot then returned it and were told we damaged it. I know for 100% fact we did not do it so.The employees were helpful and reviewed their low quality video, but I’m disappointed with the company in general. Had I caused any damage I would own up to it. Luckily I got the insurance.Don’t do what I did and trust that they check their vehicles because there was not a chance I did the damage they stated.This was my first and last time using this facility.If you do chose to use this company please ensure you take video and pictures from every inch. I learned an expensive lesson to not be so trusting and document everything even if you’re told the vehicle was already checked.
