BUYERS BEWARE! If trying to buy a used truck, I would literally go anywhere before I would attempt to buy a truck from Penske.A deposit was put down 2 months ago, wired $9000 over 2 weeks ago and still not in a truck. Legally the truck is ours but we can’t pick it up without tags. We have had the truck insured over a week now which is $150 just down the drain. No one answers phone call or returns as they say they will, communication is terrible literally from everyone at Penske. To many middle men that don’t know what’s going on and never getting in touch with our direct contact ALEXA. She’s TERRIBLE! And if you need something while she’s on vacation, it’s not forwarded for someone else to handle, you’re just ignored during that as well.This company is a scam. I hope Alexa plans on paying for the insurance that I was told I needed to pick up my truck, yet it wasn’t even ready. PLEASE save yourself a ton of time and headache, it’s not worth it. Just go to a local dealer, they can get you in and out in one day. This company has taken almost 3 months now and yet still don’t have the truck. Oh and have to drive to Ohio from Maryland and then back. Like everything else in their company, unorganized and chaos. They couldn’t get tags in Illinois (supposedly). The tags were paid for my us and still nothing. Also was told to sign gap insurance papers today that was apparently added to our load without any communication. $1800 extra. When we called they said it’s required to get a truck. Howwww? We paid $9000 down on a $25000, we are not upside nor do we need gap insurance. The entire company is a JOKE!

Be careful if you rent from them. I rented a truck in August 2020 from baltimore and just looked at my online account today and seen that they charged my account for 35.68 dollars from the reading,pa location. Crazy... I rented in 2020 so why are they stealing from me.

This review is Particularly for PENSKE LEASING AND RENTAL COMPANY, 2675 Morgantown Road, READING, PA 19607. Please be careful from buying anything from these crooks. They are liars. I bought a truck and the process has been very frustrating. Communication is really bad. They promise to get back to you after you call them but they dont. I am still waiting for them to send me my title and temp tags so I can pick up my truck. Its been over a week now. I already paid them all the money. The entire team are just con people, from Sales co-ordinator (Meghan, Pletz) all the way up the chain. Please dont use this people. I prefer RYDER for all your truck needs.

The people are friendly and checking in and out was easy. I had set up the request online without any issue. The representative listed the starting miles on an ipad, but at the end billed a 9-12 mile trip at 68 miles. Because I didnt focus on that detail at the start, I was not able to get any credit for the difference. I was billed for only 6.5 gallons of gas at the return. Seems like 68 miles is more than 6.5 gallons if gas. I moved from Mulenburg to Mt Penn in Reading. I would suggest being very detailed with renting from this location to avoid overcharges.I was credited for the 12 blankets that werent included at the pickup. Overall the staff are really nice.

We use them for work for our 26 box truck and 16 sprinter van. Staff is always friendly and service time is mostly accurate.

Dont buy trucks from this company!Its a nightmare! The worst service Ive ever received!I had a sad experience with them, which cost me 3 weeks of waiting and damage of $500Ill tell you about my story.I liked one truck, I called to find out more information about it and the seller on the phone said that the truck is ready for sale and fully serviced! To start the process you only need to make a deposit of 500 dollars. I said, when can I pick up the truck? Im ready to transfer the entire amount for purchase. They replied that first you need to pay a deposit and they will prepare the papers for sale and make an additional inspection! At the same time, I asked if there is a loading ramp in this truck? it is very important for me, as this truck will be used for Moving Business. The seller said they should be, but need to clarify, and he will contact me within 15-20 minutes, but first you can pay the deposit!The deposit was paid and no one called me... For three days.I decided to dial the seller, his name was Greg (Ext.53000) It took me about 50 minutes to spend on the phone. In the end, he said he forgot to call the truck parking lot and find out about the loading ramps, as he had a difficult day. Two weeks after paying the deposit I was sent an invoice to pay the truck, but the amount was higher by $2500 I called to ask them, in response I was told that everything is right and I have to pay Fee for documents and sales tax in Illinois! I said that I would do registration in California and I would pay California sales tax(9.5%) when applying for a DMW, they said that you should pay tax in Illinois and California, but then you will be able to refund the Illinois tax! I know how long it will take me, so I was outraged and asked why you didnt tell me right away that the price of the truck would be 2,5 thousand higher?They apologized and said they couldnt do anything about it! In addition, it turned out that the truck does not have a loading ramp and they will be ordered soon! After 3 weeks, when I called to find out about the delivery ramp, I was told that they can not tell when they will be delivered and they do not have an approximate time frame! This outraged me completely and I decided to refuse to buy this truck, as the agreed time frame were violated, there were no loading ramps, and the price increased by more than 2 thousand! To which they told me, well you are entitled to it, but we will not return you a deposit, as we spent a lot of time on you!I am engaged in the transportation industry and every year I buy from 2 to 5 trucks. Ill never get in touch with Penske again!

Past experiences were good, but the past time for my move was terrible. Junk DD5 underpowered truck and charged me $80 for fuel when I filled it two miles down the street. Not to mention it wasn’t full when I got it. Never again, there’s other places to rent from.Called as suggested. Also spoke with a friend there. They are all out bsing me around. I don’t care how long the check in guy has been there, he made a mistake.

Great experience with my penske rental. After a Comcast utility worker dropped something while working on the pole and smashed my windshield, penskes roadside assistance sprang quickly to action and sent someone to replace the windshield on-site. I will definitely choose penske again when I need to rent a truck.
