When was the last time you brought your car in to be serviced only to arrange to have the car sent to another repair shop? Thats what I had to do!My F150s engine died and I had it towed to Phil Long of Raton. I asked for a diagnosis and they came back to me saying my engine needed to be replaced. What would it cost? They quoted me $9,600!! I know engines are expensive but I asked them if they could work with me and do any better? What was any better to them? How about $9,300.And they could not even assure me that by paying $9,300 it would be enough to fix the car. I would have to pay extra if there were other things wrong. I even asked if they found anything else wrong that I could pay for it at cost? They said flat out no. This insulting counter offer was enough for me to look elsewhere. Well I found the same new engine elsewhere installed and car fixed for more than $2,000 less. I arranged to have my car picked up from Phil Long and sent to another shop. Bottom line: Dont take your car to Phil Long Ford of Raton unless you want to be way overcharged with the possibility of being charged above and beyond their estimate. I will also say that Cassie Phillips, who I was working with, was efficient, professional and pleasant and unfortunately was in the position of just being the messenger for a management team that seemed to have a hard time seeing the customers perspective.

We were pulling a travel trailer with a Jeep Grand Cherokee on our way to Colorado when the check engine light suddenly came on. We called the nearest Jeep dealer who is located in Colorado and explained our situation and asked if they would run a diagnostic to see whether we were having a serious problem. They refused to do anything until the following week, which was totally unacceptable since we were traveling.Not knowing what to do, we exited the highway in Raton, hoping to find a service station. We found ourselves in front of the Phil Long dealership. I explained our predicament to a young man in the service department who said hed see what he could do. He determined that it was a minor problem in the air filter which he removed and cleaned. We were back on the road in about 30 minutes with no charge.We cannot praise this dealership highly enough. I went to Phil Long Ford to program a key fob for my car, which were list through no fault of my own. I explained the situation and that the shop.respinsible for the loss of my keys would pay for another fob. The help inreciebed was phenomenal. Nice staff. I was traveling across country in December, 2018 when my heater stop working. Figuring it to be the heater core, I arrived in Raton, NM about the time the dealership opened. After 3-1/2 hours the service department quoted me a price of $98 for the part and $1000+ to repair. While waiting I found the part at a local parts store for $49. I drove to Trinidad, Co and had it repaired at a locally recommended shop for $385. I drove back to Raton and paid them for the diagnosis. Im not sure why Phil Long needed to mark the parts and labor up so much. I still wonder that to this day. ????? (Actually, I think we all know why...)

Worst place ever! Charged me 2300$ for a remanufactured turbo. Turbo went out again at 9 thousand miles and they won’t even give me the cost of said turbo. Called multiple times before I could even get that response. I was a long way from home and they knew it and took advantage of the situation.

On vacation towning our RV. Needed oil change service package which included tire rotation. Drove 50 miles to dealer in Raton, NM. Very courteous and expeditious. However I noticed after departing the tire pressure was under the 60psi and 80psi recommendation for heavy loads. Returned to dealer and they quickly adjusted the PSI.On highway back to campground I looked at TPMS and noticed the readings were backward. The technician failed to reset the TPMS Monitoring system. I followed the procedure in the owners manual but no success. Ill try again tomorrow but if it still doesnt work, Ill have to find another dealer as we depart in another direction for our next destination. Disappointed in the technicians lack of follow through. When I take my wifes Buick in for service the dealer always resets the TPMS correctly.

When I went to Phil Long looking for a truck the first person I met was Cliff Santistevan, salesman extraordinaire. I explained what I was looking for and we looked on the lot at different trucks and different options. When I decided what options I wanted Cliff went to work. He found the truck in Alamogordo at the Ford dealership. Two days later I was driving out of the dealership in my new truck.Everyone at Phil Long Ford was very nice and helpful. I found Phil Long Ford in Raton, New Mexico with a 2011 Toyota Avalon by accident. I called and spoke to Shawn. I drove 100 miles to look at the car and to meet with Shawn. I have been an auto mechanic for 38 years. I do not impress easy with car deals or salesmen. Shawn is the real deal. He is one of the most honest and pleasant people to deal with. I would give him a 10 out of 10 for integrity. When I arrived at the dealership, Shawn and Frank showed me a ding in the trunk that they were unaware of when I called. The service this time appears to be better than with past experiences, so far so good. They told me what they checked and that they were aware of things to keep an eye on, nice. The area I would like to see improvement is after you pay your bill theres no way to know which direction to go to find your vehicle. There are several areas where they park vehicles when theyre finished, if I were told the approximate location it would be helpful. It might even be nice to have a rough map showing all the locations available to put a vehicle after service. The tech could put an X where you could find your vehicle.

We were broke down on Raton Pass. We had our fifth wheel behind our truck. We were towed in to Phil Long, after waiting for 7 hours. Could not call, no cell service, and no one stopped to ask if they could do anything. After being towed, Saturday night, and placed behind Ford in the Amtrak parking lot. No water, no electric, no bathroom. Get the picture.We were helped so much by Lewis and, the great mechanics that worked on our truck. Bad exhaust system, shut down truck. What can I say. Lewis came by Monday night after work and brought us a generator, then returned later with gas for the generator. He turned our nightmare into an adventure.We had made the service department our second home until Friday. Internet, faxing, advice, bathroom, coffee. What can I say, I am 65 years old and have never in my life received such personal care, not just customer service but beyond. Lewis you were so wonderful and concerned for us. You made sure we were comfortable, you are Awesome and so is your family. We need more people in this world like you. Phil Long needs to give you a raise or bonus. You are the worlds greatest. When I returned that car they allowed me to test drive another back to my house so that my husband, who was ill at the time, could see it and we could make an informed decision about which deal would work best for us. Well, I was caught in a tough situation. My wife and I were headed to Austin Texas from Denver where we had been visiting my daughter and grandchildren. We had left early to get back to Austin because my elderly mother had taken a turn for the worst. As we were approaching the Raton Pass on our way back to Austin I heard a loud pop and lost most of the horsepower to my engine. Since it wasnt far to the summit I kept going and coasted down into town. It was a Sunday so nothing was open and we got a motel for the night. First thing in the morning I went to Phil Long Ford for my now crippled 99 Expedition.I already knew what was wrong but as I pulled in next to the service department to wait for them to open several of the employees had obviously heard me coming. Once the doors opened I walked over to the service department and they said oh is that your Expedition? I said yes. They said you blew a plug out of the block didnt you. I said yes. I explained my situation and a young man named Luis said he would help me get my car back on the road as soon as possible. Sure enough about two-and-a-half to three hours later my car was fixed and we were back on the road. While waiting on my car and walked over to the new car showroom and talk to one of the owner partners of Phil Phil Long Ford. I wish I was ready to buy a car because this is one of the nicest guys Ive talked to in a long time. The long story short his they took care of my car and they didnt gouge me. They did what I needed to get back on my way. Everybody was professional and I would return here again.

Hi, this is John Rutherford, I left my Fiesta to be repaired, about 2 weeks ago, we did get a rental car, from Hertz, located at the same place, I met with Steve Jenson, who we knew from several years ago, exellent at what he does, they had a really hard time with the repair, kept me posted, it turned out to be several days before to pick up the car, and I feel ready good about the fact that I know, they did an exelent job, and did it right, so we are really happy, John.

We were stuck just up the road at a smaller dealership that couldnt get to us. We had the disabled vehicle moved to Phil Long in Raton and they had it fixed way ahead of schedule and got us back on the road earlier than expected. Matt at service desk was awesome and the tech that stayed late to get us going is awesome!!!!

We were stuck in Raton for well over 3 days because our truck broke down. Took us 10 hours to get a tow and it was around freezing temps outside. The dealership was closed by noon Saturday when the part was supposed to be arriving from Denver about the same time. Instead of staying another hour or two to get us back on the road to Texas Saturday we ended up having to stay til Monday morning and they not only removed but installed the part in 30 min or less. Don’t expect them to go the mile.

Horrible experience. Today I drove more than 6 hours to buy a $60,000+ just to be told they can deliver the truck to me at a later time. And everything we agreed on was complete B.S. I was giving a price for the absolute worse case scenario and when I got to the dealership they were off by thousands of dollars. 90% Of the cars on their website inventory, are not available to see in person. Shawn Montoya “the internet sales manager” lied over and over again, and in person admitted that it was his fault and he was sorry. But tried blaming his main manager for his lies. By far the worst 4th of July weekend I’ve had!! Do not waste your time with this dealership
