We lived in Rapid City for 13 years and during our 8 years of full-time RVing since then we come back each summer. I cant believe that we never taken the time to eat here before. The service was top notch, coffee was good and always topped off. Everything that we ordered was very good. Place was clean. I would recommend and will go again. Only critics and its a personal issue: I wish all businesses would stop using those auto scent sprayers in the bathrooms. Ive been directly sprayed by them before and that is dangerous for the estimated 1/3 or more of the population that deals with chemical sensitivity. Their sprayer is pointing directly at you when you are doing your business. I would also encourage the wonderfully, friendly owner to dial back the cologne. Its kind of strong. But hes so so nice!
This place single handily nursed me back to health lol Moved to Rapid City from NC a few months ago, soon as we got moved in my entire family came down with Covid, my family all got better pretty quick thankfully, but I ended up in the hospital for a week on oxygen etc. After being released from the hospital we discovered this place, and we went here to get take out for breakfast pretty much every day for the first couple weeks after being released from the hospital. It was one thing that I looked forward to everyday. I could barely get out of bed or breathe on my own at first but, after eating their absolutely DELICIOUS hash browns, bacon, eggs, and biscuits and gravy every morning with orange juice my strength started coming back, and I was feeling a little better everyday. Amazing food, they always got our order right, and always great/friendly service. 10/10,
The environment is relaxing and homelike. The owners and staff are very friendly. This was my first time coming in to the diner as I have ordered through delivery apps prior. That said, the food is always great. I love the old school diner foods and theyre handy being close to my work. The portion sizes for the price are also large so I get two meals for the price of one!

The food was great but need to not so cheap on servings. My fish was tiny and potatoes . I had to go home and eat more. The place was good nice friendly staff. So overall pretty good.

Confused at some of these reviews? The prices were on par with almost every other breakfast restaurant. The taste was actually above average. Thank you for using spices! I tried the redneck hashbrowns and they were great. Probably the best sausage gravy I have had in years! And the service was spot on! Everyone was helping each other!

Went in ordered drinks. Took 20 minutes for drinks. Would have left but limited on breakfast places to eat. Get our drinks ready to order 10 more minutes we get to order our food. Almost 35 minutes later we get our food after 3 large groups that came after us and ordered after us got their food. Food was cold tried telling.the waitress. Was blown off and ignored. All the food was heavily processed which considering its a diner was disappointed. Considering half the chain restaurants you can get fresh everything and not liquid eggs. We need refills halfway through eating our cold food got up to stand at the counter for refills after trying to flag waitresses down for 10 minutes got blown off by 3 different members of staff because they were too busy. Finally get someone to get us refills after wandering away from the counter back to the table. Was delivered the wrong drinks they took them back brought us new drinks we asked to confirm if they were correct and the waitress slammed one glass on the table splashing me and told us we just needed to figure it out. After what seemed like ages we finally got our ticket and got to leave. 0/10 will not be back and will recommend people to NOT GO THERE unless you want bad service and bad food.

The atmosphere is a small town diner in a small city. The wait staff are friendly with everyone and you can tell that quite a large base of their customers are rather frequent to this fine establishment.I ordered a side of french fries (as pictured below). My initial impression was in regards the price. I felt it was rather steep at $3 and hoped for rather large portions with this cost. My heart sank as they brought out the small plate and thousand island sauce I had requested. Tasting these fries, all prior sense of disappointment disappeared as I delighted with each savory bite. They were incredibly well seasoned. Texturely they were delightful little crispy on the outside and heavenly clouds on the inside. If all their menu is this exquisite, I will definitely be back to discover this joy for myself.

Service was efficient. Clean establishment. Food was okay and prices was fine. My husband had 2 eggs OE, HB, and toast along with coffee. Salsa on the side was $0.99. He said the food was cooked to order but a bit bland. My hamburger steak dinner with American fries and salad was fine, although the HB was a bit dry and was hard to cut (I didnt mind as I like my HB steak firm and not mushy). The salad consisted of lettuce, croutons, and cheese along with the dressing. With tip our tab came to $27.71

Biscuits and gravy were not good. Gravy lacked flavor and was extremely poor. Too much pepper... Its like the cook did not know how to make real gravy and just threw in pepper to make up for it.. Bacon overcooked and burnt. Coffee lacked flavor and was weak. Egg whites on requested over medium eggs werent cooked and were runny. Staff was friendly. Dining room overcrowded layout. Prices were extremely high for the poor quality of food. Add to that a 15-20 minute wait and the results are that this local couple will not be back. Weve lived in Rapid City for 10 years and never heard of this place; now we know why. The only reason this is not a 1 star review is because of the staff.
This was our first and last visit. The service was very friendly but the food was hit and miss. My burger was small but tasted ok. The onion rings were bad, like they were fried in old oil. My cousin only ordered soup and couldnt eat it at all. For what they charge, I expected way better quality.

Stopped in for breakfast. Cute little man and pa diner. Omelet was cooked perfect not under cooked on the inside. Hashbrowns were crispy. Sausage patties have lots of flavor.

I was in the mood for breakfast and the local restaurants had a long wait, so I decided to order breakfast via DoorDash and I noticed the Fairmont Diner. I ordered biscuits and gravy, scrambled eggs, and sausage. The order arrived fast and hot, the breakfast was delicious. I highly recommend the Fairmont Diner if you are in the mood for breakfast.

I live right down the street from the FD and have frequented their establishment quite often. Usually after church with my whole family. However, Ive noticed their portions are getting smaller and their prices have gone up substantially. Today, I ordered a bacon, 2 egg, hashbrowns (double portion) breakfast and a side of 2 pancakes. I almost fell over when the cashier told me over the phone that it was almost $20! I thought that must be a mistake and so when I picked my breakfast, I mentioned it to her. She said, no the price was correct. She also said she would wave the 4% credit card fee since I was paying cash--well, duh! Im sorry but they do have great pancakes but I wont be back there ever again. Perkins is about $12 total for the same thing.
Service was very slow. Paid almost 3 dollars for a bad cup of coffee that was never topped off.Food was good but overpriced.

Its a friendly neighborhood eatery with attentive servers eager to serve you. The food is like home cooking. Its obviously fresh and prepared with care and the prices are neighborhood friendly as well.Great choice if youre tired of precooked fast food ordered from a kiosk.

When the complementary hotel breakfast will not cut it head here! This is not a tourist trap. Itβs downright great food. The staff is extremely friendly and the prices are totally fair. Come one come all for a great breakfast that will fill you up with wholesome tasty home cooked dishes. The Redneck Hash Browns are pretty stellar. Give βem shot!

First time coming and I was impressed. It was exactly what you would expect from a tiny diner off the beaten path. Grandma is in the kitchen cooking with grandson. Just one waitress. The food was the perfect amount, first time Ive finished my plate in a long time. Prices are very affordable to make this place a regular.
The food was OK. Nothing exciting or fantastic. We had the roast pork and Roast beef hot sandwich with mashed and gravy and ice tea. The potatoes are fresh out of a box .There was no veg in sight.Any salad or flavor added was extra. Our bill was $25.oo for 2 adults .I probably wont go again because there are so many really good food choices in Rapid.

Wonderful customer service and the food was great! Their seasoned fries were a total hit with everyone at our table. Restaurant offers daily specials as well as a great selection of home style breakfast and lunch items. We will definitely visit again soon!

We got there around 11:30 a.m. on a Sunday, and although the small dining area seemed full, we were greeted by friendly staff and seated shortly after arriving. The menu was simple and had something for everyone. The wait staff was attentive and the food was very tasty. I look forward to stopping by again to try their breakfast.

Delicious local comfortable dining. Great meals for the whole family, from pb&j to the Texas Burger, all followed by fantastic soft-serve ice cream covered in chocolate sauce. Great stop before checking out the Dinosaur Park!
