Best jeans I’ve ever bought! I’ve had them for a year and I wear them 3-4 times a week. The workshop itself is a really cool space where you can actually see where the jeans are made. The service is top notch and the variety of fit of their different cut jeans make it easy to find what you are looking for. They also have shirts and jackets. I love these types of clothing stores because you can find unique, quality items. I highly recommend Raleigh Denim Workshop!
First of all, the assistance I received in the Curatory was phenomenal. She helped me decide what size worked best for me. Secondly, the fit of the Stokes jeans was fabulous. I love the wide legs. I not only felt comfortable but also stylish. And the hunter green color is gorgeous.
Hands down the best jeans and denim products! Their jeans are not inexpensive, but they are made to last forever. If you want to truly understand just how good and flattering a pair of jeans can be, speak to the fine people at RDW...you wont be disappointed.
My husband bought me a gift card for our anniversary. I had such a fun time trying on different styles at the shop. I ended up choosing the Haywood high rise skinny in hunter green. Amazing fit!
Ive been a longtime supporter of Raleigh Denim, and really appreciate the personal experience and quality that they have provided over the years with every purchase. My most recent purchase was a pair of the Jones trouser charcoal Japanese selvage, and the handcrafted details are amazing! Really love these jeans!
Stop reading reviews and just go. Great products and great people at Raleigh Denim. They deserve your business.
The most comfortable jeans I have ever worn. Do yourself a favor and get a pair or two.
We searched out Raleigh Denim when visiting because I wanted to see their factory and my daughter has trouble finding her fit off the rack...but she did here.105 lbs, 5 7 she said these were her first right fit ever in her life.Great, pleasant staff, cool storefront, and a wonderfully throwback make-by-hand factory.Well worth a visit when in Raleigh.
Great American made jeans. My 15y old daughter and I (51y) are both high waisted. She is 5’ 8” and takes a 28 and I am 5’ 7” and take a 34 in waist and both of us found the perfectly fitting jeans from this shop. The Haywood fits like a glove and has just the right amount of stretch. We have found our jeans home. As to the cost well a great German clothing company has the motto “quality is not a luxury”. When you want something that is not fast fashion to last for many years of hard wearing then you pay accordingly. Also I have to say that their prices are the true cost of a properly made product by properly paid workers here in our country. I know that I am getting a great product and the money I spend stays in our US economy.
I love this brand and this shop. The best denim out there!
From fit to fabrics, these guys know how to make a top shelf pair of pants. Extra points for construction by hand, and locally sourced materials. My pair of Martins doesn’t even have a spot in the closet - they just get tossed on the dresser and worn again the next day. If you live in Raleigh or find yourself there, don’t miss an opportunity to check out their workshop/curatory downtown.
Very unique and beautiful storefront! High quality denim merchandise, all made here in Raleigh!
After some initial back and forth, Raleigh Denim came through and covered the cost of custom tailoring due to the complex nature of tapering the jeans with no direct access to their tailor. I appreciate the attention to customer service, as this is what you would expect from a high end company like Raleigh Denim.I love my Martin selvage jeans!
Best jeans on the market. Simple as that
Got really excited after reading about this company and the couple behind it. Unfortunately, just cannot pay $300 - $425 for one pair of Jeans. Probably great American made products, too bad the average American cannot afford to support them. Guess this really demonstrates the disconnect between American manufactured good and imports.
Raleigh Denim is awesome - Their staff is friendly and insightful, the Curatory is beautiful, and their apparel is exceptional!
I mean, not cheap. But like I’d sleep in these jeans.
Phenomenal product and exceptional service from Raleigh Denim staff
Great customer service!! Beautiful shop!
Warm & welcoming staff, knowledgeable in textiles and all things raw, selvage denim.Highly recommend if youre looking for high-quality jeans and a highly enjoyable experience.
Couldnt say enough great things about the team here, the clothes, or the customer service. Its really a Raleigh staple. Im very passionate about fashion and I come from a design background. I can say these are hands down the best jeans ive ever put on and they seriously make me more confident. Theyve done many years of research to create perfect jeans, no matter what your shape is. Truly such thoughtful and genius design. If you have any issues, even the smallest, I have no doubt the customer service support will make you as over the moon about them as I am. I love that you can get them hemmed in store for free. Definitely worth the money for a high end pair of jeans for this quality.
Raleigh Denim Workshop creates amazing products. Everything is very well made, I definitely get the sense that what Ive picked up so far will last me for many many years. Their limited run fabrics are all especially nice!
I love the first two pairs bought in the last couple of years but the first time I wore the third pair I realized a problem with the zipper. They emailed me a shipping label and less than a week later my pants were back with a replacement zipper at no cost. Thanks for the quick no hassle fix!
Great american made products. I own jeans from Raleigh Denim that are over 4 years old. They still look great and hold the original shape well. I am also petite and have no issue wearing these jeans when I have them hemmed.
Im always happy with RDWs products and it was an awesome experience stopping in at the shop. Youre paying a little bit extra for the clothes, but its worth it - the quality and craftsmanship stand out. The decor and getting to walk around the back of the shop while they custom hem your jeans gives shopping in person a nice touch
Great jeans, the best fit and most comfortable Ive ever owned. I really appreciate their being made with NC denim in downtown Raleigh.Best fitting and most comfortable jeans ever. I got Jones jeans in a dark wash and theyve been complimented coast to coast. I love the red stitching and hemming. Perfection.
Best jeans Ive owned and fantastic customer service.
Best jeans Ive ever owned. My goal is to own a minimal amount of clothing and never throw them away. Extra plus that they are unbelievably comfortable and utilitarian. This satisfies that goal and justifies the price.
Great storefront with view of denim workshop. Awesome, helpful staff. Super high quality product all made right here in NC. Pricey for your average consumer, but if you know what youre looking for in a pair of jeans and want the best for your money, make this your stop.
This is actually more a review of the womens Gates relaxed fit jeans than the Curatory. The fabric is nice but stretches like mad. The web site suggested buying a size up. I bought my usual size-huge. Traded in for a size down-have stretched to point they need alterations especially at waist. When I went to the Curatory to exchange. Staff was polite but disengaged. I thought that was odd given all the buzz about locally made and hand-crafting. Then today I read reviews on Glass Door by former employees and interns. Sounds like Hell. Advice: buy used on eBay (which I did with the actual RD blue jeans I own.)
This is a fine place. Even after reading the lengthy bad review below. Who has time to write like that...Its a small place, everything is good quality, and have patience if there are a lot of people in here. Customer service jobs are hard when dealing with a wide variety of people. I chose the Martin slim tapor in my exact size and I love them. And I usually never leave reviews but I feel I would have come here sooner if I hadnt read the bad ones. Thanks!
I love these jeans. The quality and craftsmanship is excellent, and I love that they are American made! Plus they just get better with age.
These locally made, classic, high quality jeans are a pieces of art. The jeans arent cheap, but the charming business owners, committed to local materials and manufacturing, make a product that will convince you to never buy jeans anywhere else after you own your first long lasting pair. And no this isnt written by one of the owners or their friends. Just visit the store, buy a pair, and youll see what I mean.
Amazing. Loved the story behind this place. Products are gorgeous. Worth a visit!
Worst customer service. We spent an hour and a half trying on jeans and not once did the two employees offer to get sizes, even though we were the only customers. I pulled all the sizes for my husband the entire time. I decided on a pair, had them hemmed, and asked for original hem. Turns out the employee had no clue what that meant and just hemmed a stitch across the bottom, which looked terrible. I ended up paying a tailor $17 to fix and attach the original hems...of my $200 jeans.
I had high hopes when I purchased a pair of Raleigh selvedge jeans. They deteriorated terribly after my first wash (delicate wash cycle, cold water, not mixed with anything else). In short, (1) the fabric turned soggy, thinned and is show signs of piling; (2) the right leg deformed and twisted so that inside leg stitches have moved towards the middle of the leg, looks ridiculous; (3) discoloration in patches, and the jeans continue to transfer color to other items - two pairs of shoes/sneakers now have blue markings on top. I have never had anything like this happen to any of my jeans (and I own a lot of different kind of denim), and I would certainly not expect a paid of made in USA selvedge $250 jeans to turn into garbage after one wash, To add insult to injury, their customer service - while pretending to be friendly - essentially said they will not do anything about this faulty piece of merchandise they manufactured and sold for $250. After some back and forth they offered a 20% promo code for future purchases. What a joke, you should be ashamed of yourselves.
For those of you that know me well, you know that I like to wear jeans most of the time. I also like the jeans I buy to fit well and be of high quality.About 2 years ago my friend told me that I should check out Raleigh Denim Workshop. They are a local denim workshop and retail store that is described as “Classic with a bit of grit”. I stopped in on a Saturday and received no greeting or even an acknowledgement of my presence. I asked an employee about the jeans and if there was anything I should know about fit or the materials. I was pointed in the direction of the men’s jeans and told that the sizes could be found inside. There was no order or explanation of fit, so I selected a few pair and asked to try them on. I was pointed in the direction of the changing room. I liked the styles I had chosen but the fit wasn’t quite right. I was then more frustrated that I couldn’t get any help, so I left dissatisfied.A little over two weeks ago, my same friend and I were talking about Raleigh Denim again and he convinced me that it was just a fluke and I should give them another try. He admitted that he received very little help when he was there and that he had heard that other people felt the pretentious attitude while shopping there. I try to shop local when I can so my wife and I went to Raleigh Denim Workshop on Saturday, November 25th to see what we could find. We were greeted when we came in, but were given very little introduction to how the store was set up or any information about the product. We asked about the fit and were given a quick summary of what the names of the style meant. We proceeded to find all of the sizes we needed by searching through unorganized stacks of jeans. After about an hour of trying on several styles and sizes, my wife narrowed her selection down and I narrowed mine to six. My wife checked out and I asked the girl about a possible discount for purchasing seven pairs of jeans. She quickly told me that they don’t normally do that, but that she could not make that decision. I asked who could and was told that only the owners could make that choice. She told me that she could hold the jeans for me and she would have the owners call me the next week. I agreed and left my contact info. After several days, I stopped by on my way through downtown and asked the same girl who I had spoken with on Saturday if the owner was available. After 15 minutes, she came from the back to tell me that they were too busy to talk to me and she promised to have them call the first of the week. I was a little put off, but left believing her and giving them the benefit of the doubt. After another week went by, we went back in today (December 9th) to just go ahead a buy the jeans. Even after being ignored time and time again, I still liked the jeans and was prepared to pay full price. We walked in the store and I went to look at a couple more pairs that caught my eye while my wife went to ask someone to bring up our jeans that were on hold. The girl came back and informed us that they “had to be put back on the floor because they were on hold too long”. At this point I was in complete shock that this lack of customer service had reached the next level. I explained that my contact info was attached but no one ever contacted me. She said she was sorry. I asked her if they frequently ignore their customers with $2000 worth of jeans holding for a response. She said she was sorry.Needless to say I bought nothing at this store and will never buy anything at this store. I will also let everyone know what an awful experience I had every chance I get. I got better service in Beverly Hills while I was wearing shorts and a t-shirt at than at Raleigh Denim Workshop. So much for local hospitality. It felt more like pretentious hostility to me.
My perfectly broken in jeans desperately needed repair. We had a bit of a hiccup in the beginning. But after talking to Carly and explaining my issue she jumped on the problem and really took care of me.I just returned home from a work trip . Visiting retail stores, yep I am in the industry. I came home to find my beautiful jeans repaired and better than perfect!Carly completely exceeded my expectations by just being real.Keep making beautiful jeans.
The product seemed in good quality but the service could use some improvement. None of the stacks were organized by size or style and the two women at the desk had no interest in helping us find the right size. It was like a TJ Maxx experience for the price and quality material of Gucci.
Everything is very well made and good quality.
Nothing but exceptional customer service and excellent product knowledge from the staff. GREAT pants and more.
Anthony knew exactly which style would fit my body shape. Fastest shopping trip ever.
I have purchased a few pairs of their raw denim jean. I keep going back because I have never found a pair of better quality denim, a more deep indigo color that takes forever to fade, and the detailing is really special and unique. Price is not an issue as I only own one pair of jeans at a time, and I want them to be just right in every detail. Like a couture product such as a Louis Vuitton bag, I can examine every stick and detail and see it’s done right. They are not the most responsive to email or phone. I have emailed before and just never got a reply. I have called, and never gotten a call back. I’ve shown up at the curatory during business hours and no one was there, no sign or explanation. Once at the store the staff was good, I’ve never had them be aloof or unwilling to help me, and last time the owner hemmed my jeans right while I waited. I’ll always keep coming back even though it’s been a little frustrating at times because I truly love the product. In fact, I’m finally getting my wife fitted for some raw denim today!I can tell you there’s nothing tj-Maxx about this place. Their raw denim if anything is manufactured like a couture product.
My friend and I recently purchased jeans from the Curatory as graduation gifts. I ended up choosing a pair of the surry style, which look and feel great. My only complaint is in regards to the customer service. I was not greeted upon entering and although I arrived when the store was relatively empty, I had to initiate conversation about where the womens pants were located and what sizes I should try on based on the different styles, and did not receive any advice about how the jeans looked on me or suggestions for different styles to try on. In a store like this, where customers are purchasing high quality, locally-made jeans at a higher price point, the customer service should be much more personable and useful. The biggest letdown was that I wasn’t given knowledgable answers about where the denim was from (if the tag didn’t say it was from White Oak) or where the cotton was from in the men’s t-shirt that my friend bought. We are in North Carolina at Raleigh Denim, the staff should know where the materials are from because that is just as important as who is making the jeans. With all that said, I have no doubt that these are high quality jeans that I can’t wait to break in. I am always happy to support a local business, especially an apparel company - I’d just like more info/storytelling about the raw materials!
Great team of people making awesome jeans in downtown Raleigh NC... USA. Amazing Craftsmanship and pride go into these jeans and it shows... Ya gotta check em out !
Beautiful store, loved seeing everyone making the denim in the background. Superior quality.
Great local denim and very helpful staff. Highly recommended!
First 2 pair were hemmed too short, Im a cyclist, I told them this. Since I buy jeans every 10yrs, I had no idea they would be un-usable as they were 4 inches too short when cycling. They should know cyclists need extra length. Went back, no interest in customer service, I spent another $200+, all told I spent $650 for 1 pair of usable jeans, Im the bigger fool but they should know better. Im all for being a locavore but this really hurt.Okay its been a week, love the jeans, perfect product now that its the right size. About the money, after seeing their short story on PBS, imma gonna shutup, coz thats what mom would want. Buy local if you can.
Staff is really helpful; product is excellent.
Victor is awesome, as are my spiffy new jeans. Shopping local!!
Meticulously crafted jeans worth every penny
If you have 300 dollars to spend on a single pair of jeans, you need a new financial advisor. also beyond the ridiculousness of asking 300 dollars for jeans, JEAN PANTS... these folks dont really care if you shop here, and its inherent in their attitude when you walk in the door.
I bought my first pair of Raleigh Denim about a year ago and have slowly replaced my other pairs of jeans with different styles of the same brand. There is no comparison for the quality, look and durability of the jeans they make at their flagship store in Raleigh, NC. If you are in the market for some new jeans, look here first.
Rude staff and unpleasant experience to make things simple.
Best customer service in a retail setting!
Its cool.
Quality jeans! Quality people! Miss the customer service angel, Emma!

Feels like I’m with family every time I’m there!
Legendary...
