Im a new fan of Wine Authorities. They have a great selection of wines from family owned and other vineyards with full local ownership. Theres also a robust selection of beers and specialty cheeses. I especially like the box wines. Theres also a tasting bar! Many great choices you will not find in the grocery stores, including a very nice Barbera. Great shop with an awesome selection! The staff is very friendly, knowledgeable and helpful. Check their events tab on their Facebook page to see if they have any upcoming wine tastings. I went there about a month ago, and had an absolutely amazing experience. It was our first time, and one of the workers took the time to first ask what kind of wines we like, what we were looking for, and help us find a variety of wines to consider. We bought a bottle, and she put together an excellent meat and cheese tray (even worked with my lactose intolerance) for us that we enjoyed in the store. It was all so good that we ended up buying a bottle of each of the other wines that were recommended to us! We’ll definitely be back here as soon as we can!

Great wine and cheese selection, good atmosphere, and very knowledgeable staff. I had charcuterie and a glass of wine for lunch, and its definitely the best part of my day. Highly recommend!

A treasure. The Durham location is filled with thoughtfully placed memes and notes. It is a joy to walk around the store. Ive never had the pleasure of shopping in such a skillfully curated wine store. Every single bottle weve enjoyed has been fantastic and every interaction weve had with staff has been the same. I hope the Enematic gets fixed soon!

Because you can try different sized glasses of wine at the store, its an awesome place to find your new favorite without breaking the bank. Cheese plates are delicious and the outdoor seating is a lovely place to sip and snack on a nice afternoon.

Great place to try different wines and hang after work or for a Saturday afternoon! Try up to 24 different wines by using a pre-loaded card and selecting the quantity (priced per ounce, 3 options available). Awesome spot for someone who doesnt know what they like or to find something new! The store has a large wine section and a selection of quality beer and snacks. A handful of solid beers on draft as well! Love the open front in the summer with patio seats. Nice low key atmosphere!

Best local wine shop ever! Great selection of inexpensive and fine wines. Staff is friendly and knowledgeable. Plus, its next to Yellow Dog bakery and Two Roosters ice cream. Its a win-win!

This is a great place to pick out wine! Im fairly new to drinking wine so I dont know much. Between the tags and explanations on the wine and the informative staff, it was easy to pick out something my family and I enjoyed drinking. They also have a wine bar to try some of their wine selection. I would definitely call this a cozy place too. The staff mentioned that they like to get their wine from smaller wineries to help support them.

Loved. Came here while visiting family and did their Saturday free tasting. Staff was knowledgeable, helpful, and made for a great experience. Loved the unique wines from small wineries that you can get here and nowhere else. Great outdoor seating area. Two hours and a half hours well spent.

If you just want to buy a bottle of wine to go, its okay. Decent selection especially in some varieties that are not well stocked elsewhere. The staff arent exactly friendly or helpful. Not a place Id recommend to go to enjoy a glass of wine. Prices lean high but not outrageous.

Great place for wine and more. They have a nice cheese section for small plates. Their wine selection is of course great but their knowledgeable staff help find something you will enjoy. Worth a visit and near the bakery and Standard Food auxiliary grocery for the restaurant to round out an evening meal or snacks.

Staff is helpful and nice! My husband and I often come there with our little ones... they get coloring sheets and we get cheese plate with wine or beer. MMMMM!!! So good!!!! Love this spot! Very restful!

Staff is great. Wine tasting is done 2 times a week and there is wine on tap. There is outdoor seating and when the weather is nice the front doors open for my space.

This is my preferred wine shop in Raleigh. The wine selection is good, of course. But in addition, the delicatessen options are really interesting/thoughtful.This is also a great place to hangout among friends tasting wines paired with presunto and cheese.

If youre as precise as knowing youre into a certain grape, or as broad as simply knowing a flavor profile youve enjoyed in the past, theyll be able to find you something.Oh, and nothing in the store costs more than fifty bucks. Yall, having a variety of great, interesting, and unusual wines under fifty is like doing curls with anvils strapped to your arms. Its easy to find wines north of fifty that are smooth, complex and palatable.Also, they have Roussanne. FRIGGING ROUSSANE.

Excellent and genuinely friendly (not to mention knowledgable) staff, awesome wine selection. I love how they organize by region/country and how they label wines by price range: daily, weekly, monthly. The Enomatic is my favorite, I can try out small pours of wines before committing to a whole glass. Its also nice to come here on Saturdays for the free tastings and linger afterwards with a glass of wine or pint of beer with friends for a low-key afternoon.
