I wanted to share my great experience with Preferred Flooring that did an amazing job installing Luxury Vinyl planks in our basement. The install team was very detailed in prepping the floor that involved lot of steps including moving the furniture and appliances, removing carpet/linoleum, leveling off uneven areas, sealing the concrete with a moisture barrier and finally installing the planks. Surprisingly they did it in 2 days. The sales team was very patient and the prices were very reasonable for the material and labor. Overall, we are very impressed with the end results and will use them again on another upgrade project.Thank you Jeff, Scott, Miguel and the rest of the team for the great new modern looking floors!

I cannot recommend Scott and his team at Preferred highly enough! They replaced all the hardwoods in our home (including sanding and staining the stair risers to match), and added LVP and tile in our basement. The work is exceptional, their prices are reasonable and their friendliness and customer focus cant be beat. I visited several local flooring companies before Preferred, including the ones everyone uses and none of them came close to making me feel as welcome and valued as they have. Go visit them today - you will be glad you did!!

I have used Preferred Flooring for tile. Backsplash kitchen and bathroom. I found the variety on tile good and a very family staff. Denise was very helpful in selecting the tile for both projects and she ensured I had all the right material to complete the projects. I plan to use preferred flooring for master bathroom remodel . Worked with Jeff Parker on the installation of new red oak hardwood flooring for my kitchen and pantry (240 sq ft). Previously had linoleum in the kitchen, and his crew did a fantastic job of seamlessly weaving in the new hardwood with the rest of the existing hardwood throughout the first floor. We opted to have everything sanded down together (900 sq ft) and oil based poly coating. We wanted a more natural look so did not have the floors stained. We love the way everything came out and couldn’t be happier. Jeff was easy to talk to, easy to work with, responsive, and materials and crews showed up on schedule. Would highly recommend Preferred Flooring for your hardwood project.

We replaced our carpet upstairs everywhere with engineered hardwoods to match our downstairs. I got five estimates and Jeff was the most responsive and helpful with a great price. I never like to go with the lowest, but they were extremely close and had better reviews.I am extremely glad I did. The install took 2.5 days, there were 3-6 guys at any given time here working. They were all extremely polite and even played with my kids and learned their names.Very very happy customer. Referred them to my neighbor two doors already.Jeff Parker makes sure you are taken care of and happy. I was a difficult person to work with, very inpatient during install process, he was always extremely responsive and concerned even when I was just jumping the gun. There are messes during the install, like the glue they used, and I just needed to wait for them to finish and get to the clean up phase for everything to be taken care of. They left it like they found it...maybe a little cleaner, did I mention I have a 4 and 5 year old?

It has been a pleasure working with the ladies and gentlemen at Preferred Flooring. I have personally sent my clients to their home base store in Raleigh to make selections for projects in other cities on the Crystal Coast damaged by Hurricane Florence. Preferred has partnered with us twice in the past three years on two home bathroom remodels we have done. We have been very happy with both their tile and carpet, and with the workmanship of the crews who have installed them. And, we found their pricing competitive. About 4 years ago, we used Preferred Flooring to install luxury vinyl floors and carpeting throughout our new build home. In addition, they did all of tile work in the kitchen, master and guest bathrooms. Tricia and Pat helped us work through all of the product details and color schemes to get the best possible result. Romero did all of the tile work and did a fabulous job! I have received compliments on his work from other people in the business. Recently, there was a minor issue and when I contacted Tricia, she was more than willing to send someone out. Scott came out on a Saturday, his day off, and took care of it. Overall, I was extremely satisfied with everyone that works at Preferred Flooring and their dedication to standing behind their products and workmanship.

I found preferred flooring by accident on Saturday evening and went back shopping for new flooring. I was greeted by someone who seemed to be interested in helping us pick out flooring. We went in interested in a bamboo product which we were steered away from. We did find a product that we liked even more. We then settled on a color and told them we would think on it and be in touch. We researched the product and returned to the store decided to have preferred flooring come out to measure the house. We had at this time been in the store 3 times. We gave information to the sales person on a Friday and she said someone would be in touch with us on Monday to schedule a measure of the house. Indeed someone did call on Monday it was the same person. She called me to inform me that the owners had no interest in coming to my house to measure it was to far to go. My house is 22 miles from their door. I do not feel that 22 miles is too far to go far a $16000.00 cash project but I guess that they have so much money and business that they can pick and choose what ever they wish to do. I would never recommend preferred flooring to anyone and recommend you look for someone interested in the customer

We could not be happier with the carpet choice!! Jeff was amazing to work with! With removing laminate and carpet and adding hardwood floors to match our current hardwood floors, we could not have picked a better company to work with. We even ran into a hiccup along the way (water damage under floors) and Jeff and his team were available to help us fix the damage appropriately. The final project looks better than we expected, you would never notice the difference between the new and old hard wood floors as the stain is exactly the same. Very satisfied customer!

I have worked with Preferred Flooring twice now. New carpet 3 1/2 years ago and recently changing a room from carpet to wood flooring and refinishing wood floors. I found the entire experience painless. The women at Preferred flooring were easy to work with. We communicated not only in person but by email and phone. They both came out to measure our third floor for carpeting and they were spot on...not a lot of extra carpeting and the carpet installers were professional and they cleaned up after the job was done. HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE!!! HIDDEN FEES & POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE!!!! I was introduced to Preferred Flooring through my flooring distributor, Horizon, when the other merchant I was working with wasnt able to complete my order due to credit card machine issues. Preferred only won my business to fulfill the order as Horizon delivered my flooring and is my point of contact. Two weeks after ordering the materials I returned (3) sealed boxes back to the Horizon Distribution Center. Horizon offered to coordinate the refund with Preferred Flooring on my behalf. Yesterday, I got an email from Tricia Burchette saying I would be mailed a check for my refund; minus a $50 re-stocking fee. I explained to her that I never agreed to or was informed about a re-stocking policy at the time of purchase and that I personally drove the boxes of wood back to the Distribution Center myself. After exchanging several emails; Tricia admitted to being the owner of the business and refused to waive the administrative fee. Preferred Flooring preys on the fact that in ALL flooring jobs, it is recommended to buy at least 10% extra. Most all other companies in the area that sell flooring DO NOT have re-stocking fees for this reason. Had I have been made aware of this policy, I would have found another company to fulfill my order. PLEASE BE CAUTIOUS OF THIS LOCAL BUSINESS - THEY TAKE ADVANTAGE OF THEIR CUSTOMERS, CHANGE THEIR POLICIES, and DO NOT PROVIDE ANY POST-SALE CUSTOMER SERVICE!

Preferred Flooring just completed replacing the flooring in our kitchen, back foyer and washroom with luxury vinyl 16 square tiles grouted. They also put in kitchen backsplash with ceramic tile and a special design over the cooktop. We received excellent design assistance, attentive service and the completed work is top quality. An added bonus was the neatness and cleanup of their crews!

Looked up their hours, drove across town to check them out. They had the open sign up, all the lights on, sign posted with their hours. Locked! Went next door for 20 min thinking, Maybe theyre in the bathroom or something.... Went back, the door was still locked. So I decided to call, no answer. What a waste of time. Try being open during your posted hours of operation and if you leave, take down your open sign.

The worst treatment I have ever received at a business.Kim (an owner, I think - short blonde hair), seems to have a tremendously large chip on her shoulder and her rude treatment pushed me - a serious customer who went in intending to buy after picking out flooring - right out the door. Rude, snarky, horrible.

Told us they could install on the 6th. Called us later to say the carpet was out of stock. Made us wait 3 weeks until the 24th to install.In emails back and forth regarding my carpet they were constantly wrong, misquoting prices and referencing the wrong carpet even though I clarified it multiple times.Other than that the actual installation was fast and the work was done well.

If a defect is a “latent” defect, hidden or not readily discoverable, in NC, there is a statute of limitations of three years (and not limited to the one year warranty). We simply sought $550 for removal/replacement of leaking shower floor, and repair of the compromised membrane. Original tile work included pull pans and waterproofing for each shower. We had to sign this to get the $....,do hereby release, acquit and forever discharge Simply Carpet, Inc. d/b/a Preferred Flooring and its owners, ...from any and all claims, actions,... related to any and all tile work performed... . Also, for the consideration recited above, Releasors further agree to not contact the Releasees,....It is understood and agreed that this settlement is the compromise of a disputed claim, that the payment made is not to be construed as an admission of liability on the part of the party or parties hereby released, that the one-year Preferred Flooring Warranty has expired, and that said Releasees deny liability therefor and intend merely to avoid litigation and buy their peace.WTG Preferred Flooring - this is your reputation....
