My daughter was excepted into a military college that required her to wear a specific style of dress shoe, she has extremely narrow feet and no matter what we did we could not get the shoe to fit her foot. We came to H&H shoe repair with the hopes that they could either fix the shoe or help us with inserts or some guidance as to how to make the shoe fit her foot better. The gentleman that helped us (I don’t remember his name) was amazing he gave us better inserts and a few tips on how to make the shoe tighter and fit her foot better. If you have any problems with how your shoes fit your feet this is the place to come. Very knowledgeable and helpful!

I LOVE this place! Always super friendly, they do beautiful work on any shoes I’ve ever taken in there, and they’re really good about setting repair cost expectations upfront (which have always been reasonable). I took a pair of high heeled sandals in there today and they punched extra holes in the straps for me for free in about two minutes, which was really nice of them. Great place!!

My wedding shoes are ruined!Chose this place after reading all the good reviews. I took my wedding shoes here to get them dyed the color of my bridesmaids dresses. Im so extremely disappointed with the results and service. Granted, they were ivory, not white, so I wasnt expecting perfect, but when I bring my shoes in with the swatch and you tell me it can be done, I expect a good job.... especially for the shoes Im wearing on my wedding day!The dye job is so terrible its embarrassing. I cant wear them on my wedding day, and have pictures taken of them! The dye is darker in areas on the bow... Which is front and center, a focal point of the shoes, it makes the shoes look dirty. Some areas are barely dyed, and still look White. I was so disappointed when I got these back, and I even expressed this and told the girl I cant wear these for my wedding, these look awful. She just shrugged and basically told me if I want to find another pair that is actually white shed probably work with me on the price. Im sorry...What makes you think Id come back after my wedding shoes were already ruined, and pay again!!?? It wouldnt be so bad if the lady would have come out and talked to me and told me what to expect, but she didnt.. nobody did. All I got was a simple yep she can do it, and I was so thrilled to hear it could be done. I most likely would not have opted to get them dyed if someone had come out and talked to me - letting me know they could possibly be ruined. I was already on the fence about not dying them as it was. So upsetting! I cannot even begin to express my disappointment. As if planning a wedding isnt stressful enough! Now I have to find another pair of shoes bc these arent even in stock in my size anymore, and it took me MONTHS just to settle on these shoes. I cant even find these in my size and the right color anywhere now, they are sold out!

I need the bottoms of my shoes built up, and a physical therapist recommended I go here. They have now worked on 3 pairs for me. For what I need, its $50/shoe, and it usually takes them less than a week. Its not the finest craftsmanship or most excellent customer service, as none of the employees have said anything to me other than about the transaction, but they get the job done. My shoes have held up as much as expected over time, so I dont have any horror stories. However, Id be willing to go elsewhere if it were more affordable or similarly priced with more personable service.

This place is the best!! I took my favorite pair of boots in and they fixed them like new. My zipper was off track and I was afraid they couldnt be fixed. It had come off track because the zipper was missing teeth and was also bent. They were so nice in telling me that this happens from time to time and usually its just a matter of replacing the slide. I didnt want to be without my boots since they are my favorite and they said as long as they have the slide in stock it would take about a week. I picked them up in a week and was so happy with the job they did and the cost was very reasonable. I would definitely recommend this shop. The staff was very friendly and informative. I felt very comfortable leaving my favorite pair of boots.

After hip replacement I was told that my left leg was shorter than the right and I should wear a wedge/lift in my left shoe to even things up. When I shared this information with Margaret at H & H, she added height in the sole of my Brooks shoe. When I got them back, I had to look for the improvement it was that well done. Exquisite craftsmanship and attention to detail. I would recommend H & H to anyone.

After “wearing out” a favorite pair of work shoes, I had little hope that anything could be done to salvage them. I brought in a pair of Allen Edmonds to have the heel and sole replaced. Upon dropping them off, I was surprised at the price and quick turn around. The entire job cost $60.00 and they would be ready in three days.When I picked up my shoes three days later, I surprised at the poor quality of craftsmanship and the the poor quality of the materials used. Normally, when a pair of shoes is resoled, the cobbler carves out a small channel in the sole and sews the stitches into the channel. Instead of taking the time to carve out a channel, the cobbler made a little slit. Most of the stitches went into the little slit, but some did not. Not only was the craftsmanship sloppily done, it was so sloppily done that it effected the durability of the repair. They also polished my shoes and Im pretty sure they used a cheap petroleum based product.Whats more, the materials they used seemed to be below par. Im not an expert on sole leather, but after wearing my shoes a few times, it became very clear that the soles would need to be replaced within 6-8 months (they should last for at least year).Bottom line: If youre not a shoe person, then this place is viable. Its cheap and the turn around time is very good. If you are a shoe person, you will be disappointed. The point of purchasing expensive shoes is that, over the long run, they will be cheaper because one only needs to replace the soles instead of getting a new pair of shoes. If you go here, you will absolutely have to replace the soles more often and it will end up being more expensive.

The staff is experienced and helpful. They are always willing to answer questions and make suggestions when asked. I take all my shoes, purses and book bags that need repair to them and have never been disappointed during over two dozen years I have used their services. H&H Shoe Repair is simply the best. They are very good, they stand behind their work, and they will not nickel and dime you. These are dedicated professionals, and I will gladly make the 20 min drive to go to them to take care of my high heels/pumps.

The quality of the work is excellent, they resoled a pair of specialty shoes for my father. Unfortunately, we were not given a quote ($100) before the work was done, and calls werent returned for several days. Apparently the owner was away, but when she returned she was very apologetic and took $50 off the total. I recommend the store for those in need of shoe repair, but wish our experience had gone differently.

H & H shoe repair was recommended to me by the manager of Brooks Brothers. She has always provided excellent customer service and has turned into a trusted friend. I dropped my shoes off at H & H and 3 days later I returned to pick up my newly soled shoes, polished with new laces. I am very impressed with the friendly service and professionalism.

This location was recommended by my foot doctor. When I went in there with my cycling shoes for recommendations, a lady, whom I presume to be the manager, was helping another customer. She stepped out of that conversation to provide input into my questions. She was very rude and brief, offering no help and basically saying that cycling shoes will hurt your feet no matter what. This store clearly has other workers who are not rude, but due to this instance I will not go back and I will also call my doctors office to tell them not to recommend this store any longer. There are several others in the area with much friendlier people.

I had to have shoes dyed-to-match for an outdoor wedding and they did an amazing job! Not only did my color match perfectly but I was the only bridesmaid who did not have the dye rub-off onto my feet. I had the best experience working with them. Not only were they less expensive than Davids Bridal but the service was far superior.

What they can do for shoes is amazing, and it helps me walk better and easier (mobility disability). Friendly, helpful staff, pretty shoes for sale, and almost every kind of foot related thing you need! Come to H&H!

Great customer service. I took two pair of dress shoes for a shine. I usually go to Watkins Shoe Shop but they closed their Peace St store.I could tell there was polish on the shoes, but no real shine at all. For $10 a pair, I expected a high gloss, professional shine. Same as you would get if I sat in a chair and had them do it at Watkins. Ill probably find a way to park and go to Watkins on Fayetteville St Mall in the future.

However, these fields do not always indicate the ratings as they should, when a review is posted, and may not show up.I took my brand new boot to H&H this past Saturday, January 19th. I walked in and within 30 seconds, if that, was asked what I needed. I told the lady that I wanted to drop my boot off and have a link taken out, because it was sagging too much, under the heel. She took the boot and told me she could take care of that right now. About 4 minutes later, she came back and handed me my boot! Fixed! I thanked her profusely and told her that I had googled this store and also read reviews on other shoe repair stores in the area, and that H&H, hands down, had the BEST reviews! I see why! This place is amazing and I will be back. So, basically, I was in the store and out, all in under probably 5-6 minutes! THANK YOU, H&H for taking care of me immediately and doing a great job, with my boot! I highly recommend this place! Trust me, you will NOT be disappointed at all. Wow, I had been suffering with leg and feet issues for months. Frustrated, I asked my son took me to the Good Feet store as a last resort. I thought they could help but it was going to cost big bucks. We get there and unfortunately because of my size they didnt have anything that could help and suggested I check out H and H, because H and H did custom foot work. We get to the H and H store and Liz wasted no time in getting me a custom mold prepared and cast. Returning several days later she tried the custom orthotics in an old pair of shoes and finally, at last I felt relief! It cost as much as I expected to pay at Good Feet but it was well worth the price. I have to go back as my weight has caused the orthotics to become distorted (deeper) but they have a different type of material that will solve that. Thank goodness for H and H and Lizs enthusiasm. She had a solution and I will always be thankful for that! Just wanted to add the folks at Good Feet couldnt have been nicer. Thanks to them also!

I finally found reliable reasonable shoe repair! Not only that but these ladies know their stuff when it comes to properly fitting shoes, orthotics and action footwear. I have always been treated like I was the only one in the store and each customer receives the same treatment. They only make promises they can keep and are honest about what they cant. I highly recommend H&H shoe repair for more than just repairing shoes!

Wonderful customer service. But most of my shoes couldnt be repaired, its like they can only repair expensive leather shoes. But if my shoes were leather they wouldnt need repairing ;)

I took a designer Zac Posen bag in to have the straps shortened....this simple procedure turned into a complete nightmare and left me with a ruined bag. Lisa did explain to me that she would have to cut the straps in a way that would be noticeable however she said she would stick the cuts closed using the same thread color and stitching pattern. I was comfortable with her explanations. When I got the bag back, there was GLUE all over the bag, she had haphazardly cut the straps and then abysmally attempted to glue them together. She stitched one strap to the top of the bag and then glued the other side which rendered the original closure ineffective. The bag is completely unusable. I am extremely disappointed and would not recommend them to anyone. If they could not properly shorten the straps while maintaining the aesthetic, they should never agreed to it. Now I am left furious with a ruined bag. I WISH I could attach pictures. Thanks Lisa.

I have worn orthotics since I was 13. I have had a difficult finding someone who could make an orthotic for me that didnt end up hurting my ankles and knees. Fast forward 33 years and my chiropractor said that I should check out H and H. I cant say enough good things about them. Liz took the time to throughly examine my feet and gait and made me a pair of orthotics that fit perfectly and have allowed me to get into a wide shoe instead of an extra wide shoe. They were also able to widen my cycling shoes without me having to remove the cleats. I would recommend them to anyone who needs orthotics or shoe adjustments.

They were nice BUT I dropped off a boot to get a zipper fixed. It just needed a stitch so the zipper won’t go below a certain point. Seriously no biggie. Waited TWO WEEKS as advised. Went in a day LATER than told and the boot wasn’t ready. First she says, “there’s no zipper pull.” I said “you better find it. It was on the boot when I came in.” She finds it and says “there’s a note here that says we need a new zipper pull that’s why the zipper is broken” I said “no, i fix zippers too(just being lazy and didn’t want to fix this time) and I observed a broken tooth on zipper. You possible have broken zipper pull while pulling it up, it happens. How are we going to proceed from here?” she says “weeeeeeell, we ordered a new one. That’ll take 2 weeks, k?” How I didn’t blow a gasket is beyond me. Maybe it was a bad week. Maybe it was a breakdown in communication. Maybe this is a bad place to shop. I don’t know. I just wasn’t satisfied. But they did have some great insoles I needed to buy so they have that going for them.

If youre looking to re-sole a pair of serious work boots (Thorogood, Red Wings, Carolina, etc) this is the place to go. They re-soled, cleaned, oiled, and glued on a set of toe caps I purchased for mine. Quality craftsmanship.

I have been a customer for years and only wish I had discovered them sooner. Their quality of work/repair and customer service always exceeds my expectations. On my initial meeting, the staff took the time and listened carefully to the problem I was experiencing with my feet. They thoroughly explained what was potentially causing the problem and offered ways I could treat it by choosing the right shoe, the appropriate orthotic and exercises. Their advice worked and as a result they have earned a customer for life!

Besides the very friendly staff, they are fast and the quality of work is great. Took several heels to get fixed as well as get elastic straps changed on a sandal -- they feel better than when they were new.

H&H shoe repair have lifted at least 6 shoes for my 6 year old who has one leg 4.3cm shorter than the other. They are easy to work with and quick, doing good quality work.

These people are not as advertised. Went over to the shop and asked to be fitted for custom shoes and was told there was someone there that could do this but they would be in next Sat. Called to make an appointment on Monday and was later told they dont do any of it although their website says they do. Watch out you may not get what you pay for here.

If it is painful to be on your feet, you should visit this store. Our custom orthotics have been nothing short of miracles for both my brother and I. Not only are they friendly, they are competent at what they do and proud of the product they produce. I dont know where I would be without them.
