My 05 SL500 had to be flat bedded due to the dreaded ABC failure light coming on and literally body sitting on the tires. The team was amazing to work with from day one. From giving me a full diagnosis within a day to providing a curtesy car for an extended period of time. When I got my car back it literally drove like it just came off the showroom. If you drive anything European this is the only place to go! Their level of service matched with quality of work, I’m confident I’ll be getting many many more miles out of my Mercedes.
Harry and Chris were great to work with. My car had not been serviced in while and Chris went through what was needed and due but did not try to force sell. We made a plan to do some now and some later. The work they did was professionally done, on time, and on budget. I would highly recommend 1st Class Automotive to anyone with a European car (Porsche, BMW, Mercedes, Audi) or any make for all your service needs.
I cannot say enough good things about this company. I called them because my engine was making a funny noise and they squeezed me in the next day. They advised me to have my car towed to their shop which I did and after a couple hours they told me the bad news… I needed a new engine. But instead of just telling me the price and what it was going to be they actually went the extra mile called over to Kia and inquired about new engines and what they offered. Long story short it was covered under a warranty and I’m actually getting a free engine. If you want a mechanic that’s really going to have your best interest in mind I highly recommend first class automotive.
This might be the best auto shop I’ve ever been to after living in various states. Everyone is professional and courteous. Ive been taking my Mercedes and BMWs here for about 25 years. They just get better with age. I have always been treated fairly and honestly and the owner is on site. I think they advertise straight talk and thats what you will get, no bull.
They are located right of capital blvd near behind the mini dealership. I found this place by chance after a recommendation of another mechanic shop. They did a great job in repairing my Mercedes. Great staff would like to thank Megan for all her help she provided. Would recommend this place for your Mercedes repair work over any other around town. They also washed and vacuumed the car after the work was completed and this service is not done by any of the dealers on capital as a complementary token for the customers. Overall great honest clean shop and would come again if any problem arises with my car again.

First Class was always very professional and pleasant. Whenever I had issues with my car, they would try to stick me in as soon as possible and took great care of my servicing and tires. However, weve realized that they charge significantly more for their services than some auto repair shops in the area. They will also not warranty their work if you purchase the parts yourself, even if the parts are brand new. There was a repair that we needed that they charged approximately $1500 for. The repair only needed ONE of several parts that they mentioned we needed to buy from them. We were able to purchase the one part that we needed ourselves and get the repair done for less than $200 bucks elsewhere. We also purchased new brakes from them that were very expensive and they squeaked constantly; when we brought the vehicle back to address the issue, they did not hear squeaking and didnt think anything was wrong. We had to go back a third time because it was driving us nuts and they finally fixed it. Still not sure if its right.

Dropped my 07 Z06 Corvette off on Monday for new tires and brake pads. While they had the wheels and tires off, I had them get the wheels powder coated to better match the cars theme. I picked it up on Thursday and couldnt be happier. The powder coat looks beautiful.Throughout the whole process, Drew kept me updated on the status of things and called me as soon as the work had been completed.Not a single complaint. I highly recommend FCA.

The First Class team is the BEST! From their Customer Service at the front door to the highly experienced Technicians they always keep my car in top notch condition. I have taken my car to them for almost 30 years. I wouldnt trust anyone else.
If I could give zero stars, I would. When I took my car in to get my timing belt fixed, I received it back with the lock mechanism broken on my passenger door. When I asked about lock not working, an employee tried to tell me that because it was cold, the lock wouldn’t work. That obviously was not the case because the lock worked for years before that despite the cold weather. He then told me that I would have to pay around $100 for a new key and if that didn’t work then pay around $500 to get the locks fixed. $600 for a problem that I didn’t cause?! Upset with that response, I talked to the owner and he told me VERBATIM “It isn’t our fault because the lock would’ve broken since the car is old.” I have a 2003 Honda Civic. I would not recommend coming here because of this poor customer service. My mom used to come here all the time for her Volvo but after a while, she would come and have more problems than when she left. She’s probably given them around $3000 and her car still has issues. DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY HERE. GO SOMEWHERE WHERE THEY ACTUALLY CARE ABOUT THE JOB THEY’RE DOING.

Definitely the best auto service I have received in Raleigh, and some of the best Ive had in general. I went in specifically to have new tires put on as well as an alignment, but I knew there were a couple of other things going on as well - as it turns out, they found an oil leak I wouldnt have caught otherwise. I definitely felt like I received honest service and never felt like I was being sold anything I didnt ask for. I greatly appreciate their attention to detail as well as their courtesy and professionalism, and will definitely be returning.

Their approach to customer service and attention to detail is second to none. Service is structured in an orderly and efficient manner that focuses on identifying all problem areas and then solving them in the most cost effective manner possible. We need a reliable and honest location to service our Volvo. Hands down best experience to date. Courteous and prompt while being using laymans terms to educate what was wrong. Better do your homework and I truly hope this was a one-time mistake on their part! I took my 2010 X3 in last Friday (May 15, 2015) for a sluggish feel; feels like a vibration/hesitation when I press on the gas. So they advised that they would conduct the diagnostics and call me. I was called on Monday (May 18, 2015) by Chris who said that they the code was a misfire on cylinder #2, and they recommend changing all six coils and spark plugs. I asked how much it would be and he said $825.00!!! I said Holy Cow, and he said, well you can change the one coil and six plugs. I said how much is that and he said $490.00! I then said I will pick it up, so dont fix it. Of course I contacted my friend who is a mechanic and he told me it is the spark plug, and not the coil. He put his code reader on the car, got the same code, and had me go get six spark plugs (Bosch Platinum). We put them on and it runs like brand new. HERES MY PROBLEM. Why is First Class Automotive recommending a fix for something that is not necessary? The car only has 62,000 miles. I just dont understand why they want to change a coil, when it WAS NOT THE COIL. They are supposed to be experts. It was the spark plug for crying out loud.

I drove to work one day without any problems. Lunch time comes around, and I decide to go out and get something to eat. Or so I thought. Car doesnt start. Jump start failed, so I had it towed to First Class Auto after work and left an after hours slip and my key in the drop box. A guy (cant recall the name) called a few times to update me on when they would be able to look at it and what was going on once they had looked at it and gave me the pricing. Turns out I supposedly had a super dead battery, although all of my lights and radio worked, and it didnt make the dead battery click that it normally would. No matter - it starts now! Also when I ubered in to pay, they were all very friendly and informative.Four stars at least! Until: I called a few days later because my car is missing two hubcaps from an accident. I asked if they could order the hub caps and I could get a price. The guy gave me some nonsense about how I have to bring the car in before they can even begin to tell me the price. I feel like the better way to go about this would be to look up the stock caps from the vehicle manufacturer and quote me the price, then explain that thats just the stock price from the manufacturer and once I bring it in and they see what I have, it may be higher or lower depending on whatever circumstances and which vendor, etc. Its kind of like calling to request price of an oil change and they tell you they cant quote a price until you bring it in. I know there are multiple options, but give me something. Either way I would have to bring the car in, but I just called to other places that would give me options and prices over the phone so I can get a general idea of what Ill need to spend. Will still give this place another try with upcoming maintenance.Second Visit (downgrade to 2 star). I took my car in because I had acceleration issues and a check engine light that was related to a knock sensor. While I was there I figured Id get my brakes looked at (NEVER take your car to Jiffy Lube) and the hub caps replaced. The guys did their inspection and told me the knock sensor issue was due to some software update that only the dealership could perform. When I later took it to the dealer they said nope, its the knock sensor, and that there were no software updates available for my car. FCA said the breaks were overheating and would cost $1000+ to fix - which is not an unusual quote for the work stated, but still ridiculous. Well do it ourselves for less than half of that, but I will get a second opinion first. Then they said they could order the hubcaps and put them on real quick which I agreed to. What they didnt inform me was that Id be waiting nearly an hour for delivery of the hubcaps. At one point I asked a lady at the counter how much longer it would be. She preceded to tell me I was waiting on the hubcaps to be delivered.... which I knew. I tried again and she said the same thing in a different way. I got frustrated - which she could clearly see - and went to sit back down in the waiting area when another employee walked in and she bought the situation to his attention. He then called the delivery driver to get an ETA. Once the hubcaps finally arrived, guess what - one of them couldnt be put on because one of my wheels was different from the rest. They wouldnt give me a price quote over the phone and wanted me to bring the car in so they could see what tires I had and what needed to be ordered. So I bring the car in and they STILL screwed it up. Literally no excuse. I was beyond annoyed at that. I still have the hubcap in my trunk as I have yet to replace the wheel. Nice people, but that only goes so far when they are not doing their job. My experiences here probably wont see me coming back.
1st class automotive is anything BUT 1st class. Not only did they try to charge an exorbitant amount for services but when I tried to retrieve my vehicle and take it elsewhere they REFUSED to release it until I paid over $150.00 for them to JUST LOOK AT IT!!! Ridiculous. BEWARE!!!! These people are crooks!!

After a bad experience at another independent shop much closer to where I live (the owner yelled at my wife when she asked a simple question about the work they did), weve been happily driving the extra 10 miles to take the family cars (BMW 3-series, Fiat 500, two Priuses, Subaru XTrek) to First Class. In over 5 years, Ive had only first class experience -- not only with the quality of work but with the quality of service. In that time, Ive observed the meticulous care with which they treat not only the vehicles but the customers themselves. Infact he saved few hundred dollars for my car by finding out the fault and suggesting it could be covered by vechile warranty and I take it to honda. I normally do my own repair work. I was traveling with work in Raleigh, and had a front brake caliper lock up on my Ford work van. Since I was staying on Capital Blvd, I wanted somewhere close. After reading the many reviews of the other places that do auto repair, I landed on these guys. I sure am glad I did. They were over the top nice and courteous, and squeezed my rush job, in their full schedule. I needed the van that night, and they helped me every way they could. They even gave a me a complimentary loaner to get back to the hotel. I know I could have done it cheaper, but thats eating my own labor, in my own shop at home. I appreciate the quickness they completed the job in. I will go back to them, if im ever in the area again. Thanks guys!
