We began searching for a new SUV 2 months ago and reached out to all 3 Mazda dealers in the area. They all responded and we felt no pressure from any of them, definitely not what were use to. However, Southern States was the only dealer that had a new Mazda CX-9 for us to test drive. Theyre very hard to find unless you speak to the right dealer apparently. Southern States was that dealer. They always had inventory when others did not.We had to delay our purchase by a couple months, but Shannon and Patrick (sales manager) were very understanding and patient with the unexpected delay. They kept checking in on occasion but I never felt like I was being pressured or nagged, they were simply keeping the contact going, whereas the other dealers didnt really do that.Two weeks before we planned on purchasing, I texted the sales manager Patrick exactly what we wanted. Within a day, hes sending me specs for the exact vehicle we requested and said it was arriving within a few days. So that weekend we got to see what would become our new CX-9, fresh off the truck and still covered in protective plastic. They worked with us, we put down a small deposit, and they held the vehicle for 2 weeks until our funds were available. 2 weeks!!! Now this may not seem like a big deal, but when cars are selling the same day they arrive, especially the CX-9 as we came to learn, I know they could have easily sold that right away. Yet they held it for us knowing we were good for our word and serious buyers.So yesterday we finally purchased our car. It was by far the easiest car buying experience and again, we never felt any pressure whatsoever. We haggled for 5 mins before agreeing on a cost that would work with our budget, we signed the paperwork easily and then we were given a thorough walk-thru of all the cool features of the car. They even helped us get our phones connected and showed us how to use the app. We left knowing so much more than our research and previous test driving experiences had taught us.Thank you to Shannon (our salesman), Patrick (sales manager), and Shaleace (our walk-through/setup rep) for making this such a great experience. My husband and I purchased a Carbon Edition CX-5 here at Southern States Mazda this past week. We met Cory about 2 weeks before the purchase. He was very nice to work with. Haven’t bought a car here but did get it serviced, all the employees at the service center were amazing. Very friendly and super helpful- great job guys!
Just moved to Raleigh and went here for a routine service. Made an appt and planned to wait. Service was running behind- no problem, I’ll get a ride home and come back later. 3.5 hours later, I called to see what was going on, and my car was finally about finished. Fine, everyone has a bad day every now and then.Couple days later, I got a low washer fluid warning, meaning they didn’t fill it up (pretty routine with a service everywhere else I’ve gone). Again, not a huge issue. I called a couple times when I was in the neighborhood to see if I could swing by and get some washer fluid, and on three attempts, no one answered the service phone. I get that you have bad days, but I’ll probably try the dealer in Cary next time.

One star only because you can’t give them zero. The saga: I made an 8:40AM appointment for recall work to be completed, dropped the vehicle off at 8:30AM and was told the repair would take a couple hours. I told the fellow I would be back at 11:00AM and he said that would be good. Arrived at 11:00AM and was told by a different service person that the car was not done and it would be another three hours. I asked what was the point of making an appointment if they were not going to work on it when I dropped it off. Response “It’s a long repair, but if you like you can take it and bring it back later”. Based on the “you can take it and bring it back later” comment, I suspect they had not even started the repair. If you want to be jerk around and have your time waisted, then the Southern States Mazda Repair Center is the place for you, personally I will never set foot on the property again (not that they care). Repair was finally completed at 3:00PM, SIX AND A HALF HOURS!

The staff is friendly and very knowledgeable. When I get my oil change, Im told and 1-hour wait (I think thats standard), but I always get out before my hour is up (with in 30 - 45 minutes). Always clean, and spacious.

Was told work would take 2 hours. I told them I would have to leave for an appointment so we moved the appointment up by 30 minutes just to be safe. I had three conversations with them about my deadline. After 2.5 hours I was told it would be another hour. I will never come back again.
Last week was my last time visiting this place since I am moving out of state. But I’ve used this location for the past 4 years for my 2 CX-5s and always had amazing services so wanted to share it!! Last week when I was there for my maintenance, there was this old Korean man( he told me he was Korean) waiting as well. He couldn’t speak English well, so he was using his phone for translation. When he was talking to a male staff, he seemed little confused and frustrated but the staff was super professional, patient, and nice to him. I believe the staff’s name is Casanova, he also took care of me and was super nice!! Thank you for taking care of my cars for the past 4 years!!

A motto I learned from a former boss is to always make sure people leave feeling better than when they arrived. And that’s exactly what my experience has been with Southern States Mazda. Starting with the first call asking about their sales department hours. Everyone is polite, personable and very helpful. Abe was extremely knowledgeable in Mazda products as well as the dealership. He kept my requests in mind and helped me select the perfect car that fit me - without any pressure! Financing and paperwork has never been so easy and fast! I brought my 2016 Hyundai Santa Fe because it continued to cut off. Stefanie helped me contact Hyundai corporate office. We found out the entire engine was covered under warranty. My engine was replaced!! Ariel was awesome to work with and answered my questions. Thank you. (Cant remember the Tech name) but he worked fast to get me back on road.
I purchased a 2021 Mazda CX-5 from Southern States Mazda on April 14 and couldn’t be happier with the entire process. I’m a very methodical person and take a long time to make a big decision like this - Lewis and Patrick were extremely patient with me over the few weeks (and more than just a few questions) between my first visit and signing the paperwork. I never felt pressured and truly felt like they were trying to help find the right vehicle and the right price for me. On top of that, Lewis spent at least half an hour walking me through all of the new gadgetry on my new car, as I was coming from an older vehicle that had none of those features. Any questions I’ve had after the fact have also been answered.Long story short, I’m extremely happy with the service I received and would recommend them to anyone looking for a new purchase, especially if you have questions or aren’t sure exactly what you’re looking for. 5/5.

Shaleace is the reason Im driving a 2021 Mazda6 right now.I called the dealership I got lucky she answered, told her exactly what I wanted and we discussed down payment /options/trade-in etc...all that stuff over the phone, she said shed get right back to me and thats where I was left with the other 2 dealerships earlier in the day well she got back to me in 20 minutes and an hour later I was sitting in the car and she was going over how to hook up my phone and 20 minutes later I was on my way home with my new Mazda.Thank you Shaleace and Southern States Mazda!
I had everything in order to buy a car and they disregarded my commitment (updated the salesperson every day for a whole week) to getting the car and sold it a day before I had everything ready. Glad I didnt cancel my insurance for the car I have now. Will never recommend or come back to this establishment again and neither should anyone else.

When I bought the car it was supposed to have 2 key fabs and there was only one. No problem! Corey said to call him for an appointment and they will take care of it for me. Yesterday after a crazy day I work, I called Corey about 7 pm. Of course the parts department was closed so Corey had my number and said he would call me 1st thing in the morning and sure enough, he did! He set up the appointment for me for today and even came to check on me while I was waiting! Hes a man of his word, I have a beautiful new vehicle and a smile on my face!! They don’t offer the free food and snacks and state of the art building or free oil changes but they can give those savings up front to you. I bought my car two years ago from southern states Mazda. They have the best service all the way around. The last two years they have serviced my Mazda3 Sport 5 door hatchback. Their service is impeccable! I took my car in yesterday after setting up an appointment with their service rep Bryant. As soon as I arrived, I did not have to wait, he prepped all the paperwork and I waited in their spacious waiting area with social distancing. Surprisingly, less than a half hour he let me know the service I was requesting was not necessary at the time and could be done six months later. It was so nice to have a service person upfront and honest and not taking advantage of a customer. He also explained the entire maintenance inspection for my car. It was such a pleasure knowing I can rest assured I will be seeing him again in December. Just a little FYI, two years ago, I did a review about southern states Mazda with a five star rating after purchasing my new vehicle there😊
Corey Clark is a great salesman. He let me take my time to look around without pressuring me for a sale. He told me about all the options that there are. I did not chose the same model that I test drove, but I am muncher happier with the model I got. They are great here. I would encourage anyone to get a vehicle here. Before I left he showed me somethings on the car, took me to the service department and introduced me to the service team. Every one was great.

Summary - there is another Mazda dealership 15 minutes from this one - save yourself and go there.One year and one month after buying a new CX-5 from Southern States Mazda I finally was able to trade in the vehicle and so it seems like it is time to write a review. Our experience at Southern States started well with the sales women taking time to take me through different Mazda models to find out which one was right for me. After of hours being there and trying to make the numbers work I was told they found the perfect car for me - in my price range with everything I am looking for. In the end they ended up selling me the base model for full price. It was a classic bait and switch and everything you would expect from a sleezy dealership. However, I take full responsibility for not walking away that night and reading the fine print a little closer. The problem came in the following days where my interactions with the sales manager Patrick Gomes. Patrick talked down to me, my husband, and even his own staff. He was passive aggressive and incredibly disrespectful. Buying a new car is a huge investment and in the least you deserve some respect. Patrick Gomes is unable to give that to you - go elsewhere. The GM & the sales women did attempt to make the situation right - which is why the review is 2 stars and not 1. I promise there are place in Raleigh/Cary that will give you a better deal and treat you with more respect. Go there.
I came into Southern States Mazda knowing what I wanted and the process was smooth and enjoyable. Patrick quoted a price to me over the phone before I came in and I never once felt pressured to make a decision or look into other options. Everything was very straightforward and Corey who worked with me was excellent. He was very professional and supportive, but was also very personable. He has been in the car business for more than a decade and he is obviously very knowledgeable. He put me at ease and made me feel confident in my decision while also working diligently to move me through the process as efficiently as possible. I am always wary of the car buying process, but this was the easiest it has ever been. I also appreciated the efforts they made with social distancing given the current circumstances. Check them out and ask for Corey, he was truly wonderful.
I had a great experience when buying a 2020 Mazda6 from Southern States where I worked with Michaela. All my questions were answered promptly when asked in person, via email or text. I also never felt pushed or pressured into making a quick decision or anything like that. I feel I got a fair price as well. This is not our first Mazda from Southern States, so we already know that any issues in the future should be addressed to satisfaction.

My husband David and I could not be more pleased with the service we received at Southern States! We had been looking for a used van for a few weeks and the We are here to please type of service we received at Southern States FAR exceeded that of any other dealer we visited. We worked with Stephen Jenkins and would highly recommend him and will be sending all of our friends his way. He was quick to respond and answer my questions about the vehicle I was interested in. After we had test drove the vehicle and had questions about services that had been performed on it in the past, Stephen immediately took the vehicle over to have those things examined by the mechanic and then quickly returned to answer our questions. The timing belt was due for changing and they said they would take care of it and didnt increase the price, even gave us a discount on the vehicle. Another dealer we had visited refused to even discount the vehicle price needed for this repair even though it was way past due. I could go on, but just take my word for it, the service you will receive here is incredible. We will be coming here first next time we are needing a vehicle. Communicated by email with sales person very smoothly. Was told to make an appointment to complete sale. Made one one for 2 days later. Sales person asked for drivers license and insurance information so he could have paper work ready for us. Was excited how easy it had all been. Arrived at 2:45 for 3:00 appointment and was told he would be with us when he finished with current customer and we should sit in lounge area. Sat unattended for 1 hour and 15 minutes. Was brought keys and told I was required to take a test drive and should take my time. On returning asked another sales person could they complete paper work. Was told no original sales guy needed to. Asked him a question about a feature on car and could he show/ explain it to us while we waited. Was told no, original sales person would do that when he was done with his other customer. The person whose help I requested then stood by the window looking out for the next 15 minutes . I approached again to ask time line for starting our 3:00 appointment - now 4:40 and could not get an answer. Original sales person then came to apologize for the wait. I questioned why we were waiting. We were paying cash and paperwork was supposedly already prepared. He said we were waiting for the finance officer / business center. I reiterated we did not need financing. He went to general manager who came out to speak to us. Told us we had to wait to see a particular person and that they were very busy. I said but we had an appointment. He said they had been unexpectedly busy that day with walk ins. At this point I have to admit I raised my voice in frustration. He told sales person to refund our deposit cause he did not want to do business with us. Let me add we drove 1 hour 40 minutes to come to dealership for this scheduled appointment. Never seen customer service like this. Hate that I wasted so much time being patient. I took refund and left. Will pay whatever I have to somewhere else. Will never give this dealership a dime. If they had just told us when we arrived it’s going to be a couple hours, We are so sorry could you come back at this time I would have been fine. But to give no information and just expect us to sit in the showroom and wait endlessly is ridiculous. Another customer was waiting said he had been there since noon. God bless him he kept waiting even though had been there over 4 1/2 hours. Take your hard earned dollars elsewhere. They lost a sale but I lost 1/2 a day with no compensation . Would give 0 stars if I could
Communication with the Collision Shop was excellent. While I had to wait a while for the physical work to be done, once it started the work was completed quickly.The work looks great. I think it is better than the original.The only reason this is 3 star, is that in this time of COVID and with signs posted for all to wear masks, there was at least one person not wearing one. He was the person interfacing with me.Dont expect your customers to do what is posted when apparently employees dont follow guidelines. This is for the wellness and respect of everyone.

This is the third vehicle I have had repaired at Southern States Collision Center over the span of 7 years. Each time I have been very happy with the results. They have consistently fixed my vehicles right the first time, and stayed within budget. Fit, finish, and color all perfectly matched. I would highly recommend them.
After a recent fender ding, I took my car to a body shop and was quoted almost $700 to repair a fist sized ding on my passenger front bumper. I went to Southern States and asked for a quote for the same repair, which came in 18% less. Then an amazing thing happened… The representative told me that possibly they could heat up the plastic bumper cover and bend it out with their hands. It might not be perfect, but it would not be nearly as noticeable nor nearly as expensive to fix. I set the appointment which was estimated at $50 for one hour of work. When I showed up on the appointed day, it took 25 minutes, and miraculously I was only charged $25. The repair looks great, no one will be the wiser, and I saved hundreds of dollars. Thank you southern states.

The staff was fantastically friendly, particularly personable and highly helpful. I arrived knowing which vehicle I wanted and walked out a proud new owner in just under 3 & 1/2 hours. Also, I was able to negotiate the price down to the truck’s actual trade-in value. My salesman Jacque even pointed out a cracked sunroof (which I hadn’t noticed) and promised to have it replaced within a week... no questions asked. He also filled up the gas tank before I left. I would recommend this dealership for anyone who wants a great deal!
Tried to sell me a scratched up car.Spent 2 days there doing paperwork and waiting for the car to get delivered. Asked to see the car before actually signing for the car. They somehow still managed to get us into the “finance guy’s” office to sign for the car without ever seeing it. Stopped myself as I was about to sign for the car. Told them to let me see the car. Walked out to find that somebody took sandpaper to the brand new CX30 at the carwash. It was awful. Spiderweb scratches all over the entire car. Almost signed for the car and then it would have been completely my problem, I would have been stuck with it. Be very careful and make sure to do a thorough walk around and even test drive. They will see you a bad car, and once it’s yours, it’s your problem.
I came in expecting your typical sleazy salesmen tactics and left with all of those thrown out the window. Nate was amazing to work with when purchasing my new Mazda. Never felt pushy or pressured into buying.I made an appointment with him for a 2017 Mazda 3, then looked at 2016 elsewhere that was $2000 less and put a deposit on it. Didnt expect much at Southern States but Nate asked what the final price was on the 2016, talked to his manager, and he was back less than a minute later with the same number for a model year newer car with more features. I was stunned. Topped it all off by beating my banks APR and I was sold. These guys will forever have my business and Ive already talked highly to a few coworkers too.
I look for casanova (advisor) and Frank (Tech) I trust them to take care of me and answer all my questions. Great service all the way around.
If you are at high-risk, health-wise, DO NOT GO TO SOUTHERN STATES MAZDA. They DO NOT CARE about YOUR health, their own, their own colleagues, or their own family. If anyone is wearing a mask at all, they are wearing it improperly (below their nose or even on their chin!) and if you say something, they cop an attitude and wont relate important information about the service done to your car or what may be needed. They will retaliate with silence or maybe worse, who knows. Again, if you value your safety, DO NOT GO TO SOUTHERN STATES MAZDA. If they have no regard for human life, what regard will they have for your vehicle?
The service is bad. I brought a car and it been more than a month and they haven’t yet sent me a title. My title has been expired and when I call them they never respond back.

Awesome experience. Actually the best car purchasing experience I ever had. Our sales person was Cameron. Very friendly, knowledgeable and straight forward. We discussed what I wanted, took a great test drive and sat down to discuss money. No games, no running back and forth for pricing. One price offer. It was awesome, I drove home in a beautiful new car. Cameron was more like talking to a friend than a car salesperson. Never pushy. Very relaxed experience. Would recommend Cameron to everyone. The Mazda is a great car but dealing with Cameron actually made the experience enjoyable. Love the car.... Love Cameron!!!!!!! Thank you Cameron!!!
I know that I got the best deal because I shopped and a different dealership told me so. They couldn’t even match it.The people there are professional and friendly. With Covid I was concerned buying a car at the dealership...I called Southern States Mazda and had the pleasure of working with Shaleace via phone and text..along with her professionalism and follow thru I was able to buy my 2021 CX-9 Signature series without an issue..Shaleace and her Manager Pat went out of their way to make this deal happen. Today she drove my new vehicle to my house and it arrived exactly as promised...very impressed with Pat and Shaleace...thank you both very much...you guys did an excellent job!!
Disingenuous, dishonorable sales practices on staff at Southern States Mazda.Sales manager Patrick had emailed and texted me constantly during February, and finally accepted a number I offered for a new CX-5 GT AWD. Thought we had a done deal, and told him Id be in this weekend for it. He waits SEVEN HOURS (10 minutes before they close) to reply back saying it wasnt soon enough and he just sold the car. We had never been talking about a specific vehicle and he was asking what colors Id accept - so obviously were not about one car in inventory here.I email him back a few times and finally he says hell honor our deal for an in-stock vehicle. He knows what colors Ill accept, so the implication is its in stock. Drive all the way there from Fuquay and surprise, surprise, they only have the car in white and they wont honor the deal to get a matching CX-5 in later.Absolute waste of time, and sales practices youd expect from a sleazy used car lot and not an actual dealership. Buyer beware, and take your business elsewhere.
This is solely for the parts and services.Before yesterday, this Google review probably wouldve been a 2 or a 3. Ive had adequate service and a decent price. However, dependent upon who you get in front will determine your experience there. Well yesterday, I had Bryant (intentionally omitting his last name).Bryant was not only genial, but he was also professional. His service and willingness to help not only changed my general perception of Southern States Mazda (poor to good) but also (some of) the people there. After my service plan, I was frankly thinking about just going to another place to get my car serviced, but now I think Ill stay.
I was hit in the side of my car resulting in damage to door quarter panel and rims. Took my car in for repairs. I was very pleased with the quality of work and the paint it matched perfectly. Highly recommend southern states mazda.
I dropped my car off because of a concerning sound and the tech diagnosed the problem within a couple of hours, then Dave contacted my warranty company and got back to me that same day to let me know that they would be replacing the part with the warranty company’s approval. Dave was great at communicating the progress and very helpful with my questions. Highly recommend!

Corey was super responsive and helpful by phone and text and wonderful in person, and Patrick the sales manager is a man of his word. I even smiled through the finance office portion for the first time ever thanks to Mel. We were in and out in record time to boot, in just the car we wanted, and at the right price. I was recently involved in a rear end that totaled my car. In a bit of desperation, and looking around I fell in love with the new 2018 Mazda 3. Southern States Mazda, the sales associates (The one who hates Nickelback) was one step ahead of me with the buying process, from choice of color to package he had it down to a science. That was it, I was hooked.It takes a company to help me out and get me in my gorgeous car, but it takes a good human being to admit that they had messed up, upon driving I saw my windshield wiper fluid was low, and my tire pressure was not set correctly. I had no problems contacting Southern States, and getting my situation resolved. Just all around good customer service from start to finish.TL;DRGood people, amazing friendly staff that I worked with. Will come back to do business with you again.
My wife and I prefer Mazda. So for our family vehicle the only question is which vehicle on the lot works for us. Working with Lexi was simple and easy. I was on a time crunch and she was able to work as fast as she could in order to make my appointment. With more time and knowledge she’ll be one of the best sales people in the building. If you go the the Mazda dealership off of wake forest road ask for Lexi!!! She’s great! Seriously!
