They went the cheap route and repaired instead of replacing my daughters car part after she was hit. The same part ripped like paper two days after picking the car up and they refused to adequately fix it. Not happy!

I had the unfortunate fate of running into a deer but coats made my car look good as new. The entire staff was great to deal with and very friendly. With Geico they even had a rental car waiting for me when I dropped the car off. Incredibly easy process. Coats also sends you texts so you know where in the process your car is at with being repaired and when you can expect it to be ready again. As you can see from the before and after photos they did a great job with the paint. Matches great. I don’t recommend hitting deer but I definitely recommend coats.

Unfortunately my brand new vehicle was hit and my insurance company recommended this place to go to. Exceptional customer service is their motive. I was promised a specific date and right on that date, I got a call to pickup my vehicle. Couldnt believe my eyes as the vehicle looked the same as it was before the accident. They have Enterprise Rent-a-car on site who also have great customer service.

No one likes needing car repairs, but this was actually a fantastic experience, honestly the best Ive ever had at a body shop. Completely above and beyond customer care and service!I hit some road debris Wednesday night and filed a claim Thursday morning. They had an appointment for me that same day, had a rental car waiting for me, got the (wrong) part in Friday, drove to the dealership and got the correct part that same day, and still had my car ready for me that same Friday! They even stayed open 15 minutes late when I got stuck at work so I could pick up my car! Less than 48 hours after my car got damaged, Im back in my fully repaired car. I couldnt be more happy with this experience, and will be back again for any future needs.

This place has the best service of any body shop that I have seen. They did great work and kept me up to date. They finished ahead of schedule and they also went the extra mile and cleaned the car before giving it back. It was a bit farther than the other body shops but I would choose this one every single time. Dont go anywhere else if given the choice.

Friendly and experienced people, neat and organized business visually, not the classic run down body shop off the side of the highway. They fixed my 2020 subaru after it was hit on the rear end in an accident. They had it turned around in less than a week including ordering parts and painting. Great communication, I received phone calls and text updates along the way. Final product looks professional and clean, they even cleaned the interior of my car.

I would give them 2.5 Coats was very professional and polite during the interactions I had with them. They do have good customer service. I think Coats is probably a fine place to go if your insurance is going to cover the cost of getting it repaired. However, Coats is buddy buddy with the insurance company (at least State Farm). Due to cost of repair vs value of car (my insurance subtracted $2000 from my car value based on minor scrapes on different part of car which impacted overall value as well), it was deemed totaled. NC law NCAC 04 .0418 states that a car is totaled when the cost to repair is more than 75% of the value of car. This does not mean it cant be legally repaired (as suggested by owner below)--just that its considered a total loss due to the overall value of car . The title does change, but it is still legal to drive on the road.They declined to fix it themselves when I offered them cash to fix. Im glad they did because I ended up finding a much better auto shop that fixed my car for LESS THAN HALF of the cost Coats quoted me and the other shop did an outstanding job. So if you are just going through insurance and dont care about their system it should be fine but if you are having problems with their estimate/with your insurance company I would definitely look elsewhere.

Coats Auto Body & Paint delivered the best experience Ive had in getting auto body work done on my vehicle. I am an avid car enthusiast and very particular about my vehicles. I spent a considerable amount of time researching body shops in the area and after reading reviews and calling Coats to speak with them about my vehicles needed repairs I chose them. I was not disappointed. Not only is the quality of the work second to none their attention to detail is by far better than any other experience I have had. Their first priority is to do the job right. When the car was delivered after the work was complete I went over it inch by inch (more so than most other people would). I only found one minor issue that occurred in the disassembly/reassembly phase of the work. When I brought it to the attention of the shop manager he was apologetic and took ownership of the issue, and is working to make the correction. I am so happy that I had Coats perform the work on my vehicle. I am excited that I now have a body shop that I TRUST and KNOW does quality works at a fair price. Best body shop Ive been to in Raleigh. I had them repair a rear fender from an accident in February and it was repaired to expectation and beyond. My car was returned and had been cleaned in addition to the repair work. The team is very knowledgeable and speedy - my car was ready before it was committed - and overall just really take care of you. All their staff is friendly and helpful, you can tell the culture there is really customer-centric. Lastly, Setting up my car rental was easy with an Enterprise rep on-site. One stop shop for sure. Wow! What an awesome Body Shop! Ill never go anywhere else as long as I am in the Raleigh/Durham area. I dropped my car off at the night drop at the Raleigh location. The following business day I was contacted and told that it had been moved to the Garner location for repair and they asked which location was better for me to pick it up at when it was finished. I was kept informed during the entire process. It was only supposed to take 6 days, however they found more damage than what was initially quoted. I am so thankful they took the time to really look at everything, otherwise I could have been left with more damage that was never my fault. Ernie, Jamie and Cody are the folks I spoke with during the time my car was at the shop. I was able to leave my Enterprise rental at the Raleigh location where I picked up my car. Before I could even get in the car, Ernie called and thanked me for my business. The car looks great and the paint job looks awesome! Thank you all for everything!

Excellent Body Shop. I had several thousands dollars of body work repairs needed on my car. I received a quick and accurate estimate. The service was completed when promised with no issues. The car looked amazing. My car is red and a few years old so they had to a lot of blending with new paint. It was perfect. You couldnt tell it had any repairs. They cleaned the car afterwards and it looked better than its looked in quite some time. I was very happy with the actual work. But beyond that, the customer service was outstanding. They kept me in the loop the whole time and gave me several phone calls to let me know the status. Every time I called the store, I was greeted by very courteous employees. Amazing!! They were extremely friendly and helpful from the moment I walked in. I had damage from something that fell off of a truck in front of me onto my car and broke my window. They got my car right in at my appointment time, an adjuster came to look at it almost immediately, and they already had my rental car ready for me to pick up. They texted me to keep me updated on the status of my car, and my car was ready when they said it would be. They went above and beyond, they cleaned my headlights, and vacuumed my car, it almost looked new! Great, great work, I highly recommend!!!

FORGET THAT THEY ARE SUGGESTED BY INSURANCE COMPANIES!! YOU CAN FIND BETTER!!!I was charged for a repair that the shop was not able to repair and insteadof explaining this they decided to use the computer to cut off my check engine light and attempted to keep the money. Its only because the light came back on that they had to confess that the car needed to be fixed through the car manufacturer dealership and they could not fix it. FRAUD AT ITS BEST!

I had my bumper replaced and went to Coats because of their reputation. Excellent customer service and auto repair. Outstanding communication and personal commitment to make it a stress-free experience. I do recommend them and would return in the future for any car body repair.

Go anywhere else. They continually tried to return my car to me without the lift gate functioning properly. The manager there is extremely unprofessional. When I told her the lift gate didnt work like it did before she said, how am I supposed to know how your lift gate opened before. They refused to fix it, insisting they were good with it even when It didnt open more than halfway. AND the backup camera didnt work. THANK GOD I was working through insurance so they took care of me and sent me to a good auto body shop that will actually repair my vehicle.

I recently brought my Cadillac STS in to have rear bumper damage repaired. The shop was initially selected by Geico but I feel confident that Coats will be my first choice for any future body or paint work I need. The staff were very friendly and polite. The check in process was easy and quick. My repairs were completed within 72 hours and I received text message updates for each step of the process. Most importantly of all the repair work was absolutely flawless. I highly recommend them.

I just picked up my Range Rover yesterday and I had a completely different experience than others on here. I also worked directly with the owner who I found to be extremely professional and very knowledgeable. I knew from the first moment that I had made the right choice going to Coats for my Nationwide claim. My damage was estimated around 1800 and actually ended up being only 1600. I found them to be very efficient and called me and kept me updated constantly (in a good way) about the status of my car.There was a female that worked in the front that I found to be very attentive to every customer, including me, the 2-3 times that I was inside. She was very aware of everything going on in the lobby at all times and made sure no one was waiting needlessly.My car looked better than expected on delivery. It had been completely detailed. My radio stations were still on the same station. My AC/Heat were untouched which I completely appreciate. Also, everything worked on my car when I picked it up. No new scratches or issues which I always worry about.I will go back and I will recommend all of my friends and family to go here in the future. I also plan to go back for issues unrelated to insurance and pay out of pocket.This place has quality employees and very rarely does an owner walk you to the car after hes been paid.This body shop is the exception!I highly recommend.

Absolutely the best. I chose them because of their affiliation with GEICO, but Id go back to them regardless. I had a relatively small amount of damage to my rear bumper caused by some road debris. Everyone was super friendly, and the GEICO repair process makes it really easy to get an insurance inspection, car rental, and repair work done all in one place. Coats kept me informed via text message of their progress, and only took a few days to do the repair work. The car looks phenomenal, and on top of everything else, they cleaned it for me, inside and out. Highly recommended!

I got my Honda Civic repaired here, via their connections with Geico as a certified repair shop. The experience could not have been easier. I walked in, met with a friendly and knowledgeable Geico insurance adjuster and a repair technician from Coats. They explained everything that they were seeing in terms of damage to my car and explained how the process would work. I then went immediately in to meet with an Enterprise representative and left with a car a few minutes later.They sent me text messages throughout the process, updating me with my cars repair status. By the end of the first day, the same repair technician called me to give me a detailed overview of all of the work that would need to be done on my car. They didnt skimp on anything or cut any corners. My car looks beautiful and brand new again, and I received a detailed, itemized list of every step they took throughout the repair process and how the charges were determined.I couldnt have had a better experience. It was also a nice touch that the first thing that was asked when I came in was is everyone okay from the accident?...and that level of care/customer service continued throughout the process. I would highly, highly recommend!

I have been in the Raleigh area now for almost six years. Coats Auto Body is the only place that I will ever take my vehicle to have any sort of body work performed. Since being in the area, I have now taken my vehicle there three times. It has always amazed me how quickly and efficiently they are able to take care of any repairs I need.

I was there to get an estimate on my car from an accident that wasnt even my fault. Instead of helping me he harrassed me and when I showed him a picture of my car on my phone he took my phone out of my hand and started scrolling through my pictures and taking pictures of the pictures of my car on my phone. Very unprofessional, I could have sent them to him through text or email. Definitly an invasion of my privacy.

Amazing, fantastic, so happy!After a nasty ice storm we had, I unfortunately used an ice scraper to tap off ice all over my car. It left major scuffs & some dents - it basically looked like my car had serious hail storm damage.I had taken my car into Coats for an estimate. Roger was extremely thorough in estimating all the damage & what it would take to repair. While he wasnt the most friendly & pleasant person, he was extremely thorough & knowledgable. Sadly, he initially told me three weeks for my repair & I couldnt get my car there to work on until three weeks later. The estimate was extremely high, but I had taken it elsewhere for a second opinion & they were more expensive. So I felt good with Coats doing the repair. Plus, they came highly recommended from my insurance company.Thankfully, they had an Enterprise Rent-a-Car rep on site, so I could set up my rental.When the day finally came to drop my car off, it was a pretty efficient process. I got there at 7:30, but had to wait until 7:45 for the Enterprise rep to get there.Happily one week & five days later, Roger called me to say my car was done. When I arrived, it was waiting out front & it legit looked like a brand new car! I almost cried. They cleaned it up inside & out, so it was almost like I was buying my car all over again. The front desk girls checked me out quickly & I was on my way.So happy to have my car back & in the awesome condition its in.

Coats in Garner is excellent but the one located on South Saunders St. in Raleigh was horrible! I had body work done after hitting a deer. They returned my car to me with the airbag light on and a blown fuse which shut down my radio and cigarette lighters! I went back twice and was given two rental cars and they couldnt fix the blown fuse!

8 min late..REFUSED APPOINTMENT!Had to go through downtown to get here. I was about 8 minutes late for a 9:30a.m. appt. Please know I am not used to downtown traffic! I was going through my insurance company for estimate. They are apparently doing the estimates for my insurance company due to hurricane excess damages in area. Refused to do estimate, claiming it is not their issue, but Geico Policy. But this is only an issue if meeting Geico rep, which I was NOT! Spoke to a guy named Chris a the day before appt and he was wonderful!!! Yes, he is excellent customer service, but no evidence of excellence upon my arrival. Very sad, was hoping to get this taken care of today! No one told me to BE EARLY!

Amazing! Just picked up my car and its perfect. They painted the whole right side and it looks like new.

I had a small headlamp visor for my motorcycle that I needed painted. I stopped by with the part and spoke to the owner, who quoted me 85. I felt like that was a bit high, but I wanted it done and it was close. He also said he would be able to match the color based on Harleys name. He also asked me if I wanted it painted on the inside, I said yes, as its easily visible when riding. I went it to pick it up today to find, A) It wasnt painted on the inside, and appeared to have dripped and was sanded/wiped poorly. B) He said it was going to be 91, and C) Its not close to being the same color and finish as my bike. After I argued saying we agreed on 85, and that wasnt just a quote and it wasnt painted entirely, he said hed let me take it for 80 as is.I would not recommend anyone going here to get anything painted, as nice as the facility looks the owner isnt a good business man, and I left an unhappy customer.

Fast friendly service

We were treated terribly. We took our 2006 Jeep in for a repairestimate. The damage was to the rear bumper area. They removedundamaged trim off the passenger window and running board?When we picked up our Jeep after the estimate they said they had broken and thrown away those trim pieces and would not replace them! We do not recommend you take your vehicle here.

Coats replaced the skin on my drivers side door and the paint started chipping around the edge within the first month. The number of chips has increased to about 1 a month.Also, not all of the wires were properly hooked up so I cant here any warning noises should I leave the key in the ignition - etc.I can take the car back, for them to fix their mistakes, but I dont have a way to get to work.

This place is a one-stop-shop for all the necessary steps one needs to take to get their car fixed and have everything taken care of. I was in a Not at Fault accident two weeks ago and the At Fault party is insured by Geico; theres a Geico adjuster with an office on site as well as an Enterprise rental representative. All I had to do was show up with my vehicle and drop off the keys. They gave me the keys to a rental and I was on my way in less than twenty minutes. The staff is courteous and professional, and there was no headache or muss and fuss about anything money-related.All that before even moving to the actual work they did. Everything looks fantastic, paint is a perfect match, all parts replaced and in factory condition. My spare tire mount was broken and they even re-secured the tire for me. Add in a no-charge detailing after the work was completed and its a formula for repeat business.Tl;dr - I picked it because it was close and Geico-approved. Ill go back because theyre awesome.
