I am so impressed with the service from Jeff and his entire team at Ted Brown in Puyallup! Jeff went above and beyond on very short notice… driving out to Tacoma to ensure instruments were in my boys’ hands for their upcoming performance. The team was incredibly customer focused, diligent in communications, and kind! We’ve now been working with Ted Brown for 6 years and they haven’t let me down once! Thank you for your incredible service!
Went in at 10am with my daughter who was needing drum stuff. She was upset and Charlie was amazing. He made daughter feel at ease. Definitely recommend them to all. Thank you Carlie!
We have been coming to Ted Brown Music Puyallup for many years. Recently, my daughters flute needed some repairs. We realized we needed it back before the estimated completion date, so I called and Jeff was super-helpful in looking into it for us. Taylor, the flute repairman, not only said he would get it done early for us, but then called back later that same day and had gotten it done. We really appreciate Taylor and the team at Ted Brown Music in Puyallup!!
Ted Brown in Puyallup rocks!!! I needed a screw for my trumpet and Jeff the manager was so kind and helpful and helped me in such a promptly manner! My needs were their priority! Highly recommended them.
What was misleading was how the credit could be used. You made your point in your rights as the owner, which are technically correct. However, the three correspondence prior to our efforts to use the credit did not imply it was for band instruments only. This blattent lack of clarication cost us hundreds of dollars that you are happy to take without honoring your verbal statements. The satisfaction rating is accurate.
I started guitar lessons this year and was very nervous about starting at a older age.My first lesson with Joel was fantastic, he assured me that he would make it fun and relaxing (he delivered)I look forward to my weekly lesson and his positive attitude, you can tell he has a love for music and teaching!I would also like to thank Dillon for the referral!
I go here quite often as they offer more than the other stores in town. Ive always had a pleasant experience coming here. Any questions I have are always answered, and if they dont have something I need in stock they will get for me. Only place in town I can get a set of 7 strings for guitar without going to far out. They also carry extra parts that are commonly needed witch is nice as many stores no longer do. (example: string pegs for an acoustic guitar bridge. Other store: carries only at repair shop not store front.)And Ive always enjoyed talking with the staff, always learning something new when I go there.
I visited this store for the first time the other day seeking my first ukulele. The woman who helped me was extremely kind and knowledgeable. She helped me select the perfect ukulele for a beginner like myself, I was relieved by their low prices. I was able to get myself the instrument, a bag of picks, a carrying bag, and a capo for a little over $100. After I made my purchase the employee and I made small talk. I havent been out of the house much, so having someone to have a good chat with was really nice. Ill be coming back to this store for any musical needs.
This is a wonderful place for music lovers and students. Our young daughter took guitar lessons with Tony for two years and piano lessons with Dana for three years. Both were fantastic to work with! They are friendly, patient and supportive. We have also used Ted Brown for instrument purchases and rental. Everyone at the S. Hill store is friendly and welcoming. They answer questions knowledgeably and without any sales pressure. Highly recommend!
Its nice to visit a local shop with people who are passionate about their craft to ask questions to. I support these types of businesses any time I can as they are getting harder to find. The only drawback for me is that I dont understand a lot of the technical lingo and have to ask for them to dumb it down a bit. Otherwise, a great place to support and glean knowledge from if you want to avoid the online forums and just ask a pro in person while keeping your money in the local community.
It was great, they were very kind and understanding, and we ending up buying things in the least efficient way possible but they were understanding and polite, it was great. They also very obviously cared about music which was nice. I liked it 🙂
I would also like to point out that an employee named Joel is this establishments brightest gem. This young man is a wizard guitar freaking guru, not just in vast knowledge of music theory or outstanding ability to play his instruments, but he is the only luthier I will ever trust to handle my instruments for repairs/etc ever again! Thank Joel!
I fell in love instantly ❣ I am not from around here and I love the fact it was a family onwned store that is still family owned🥰 Staff was friendly & helpful 🦅 Definitely going back
My son has Autism, and has been taking trombone lessons from Matt Grey for about 6 months. He is extremely kind, encouraging, and patient. My sons band director recently commented on how much confidence he has in class now. I highly recommend him if you are looking for lessons for your child. The price is very reasonable, and days/times available fit our needs.
Super friendly helpful people at your local music shop, prices are a little high but quality always costs money.
The shop was small and it took quite a while to get a sales reps attention.I came here to rent an instrument for my sons school (5th grade band). Took a while before I was able to talk to someone and, when I finally did, the first instrument they brought out was one that music pros recommended I not get. Id done some research ahead of time so I had a list of good/bad brands. When I asked if he specific had a good brand (Yamaha clarinet) the rep was able to find one and bring it out. Both wouldve rented for the same price so it wouldve been nice to have the good one first. Guess I cant really fault them for being salespeople, though. The contract for rental was pretty standard and they have an insurance of a kind if it gets lost or stolen at school or home. Pricing for rental seemed good compared to the other place I called but there werent many options, honestly.Cancelling the contract once the school year is finished is as simple as bringing to any Ted Brown location when youre done - no need to cancel a month in advance. The rep said if you bring it in within 5 days of the monthly renewal, theyd refund that month. Otherwise, you pay for the whole month.
Locally owned, knowledgeable, and always helpful. As a pianist with 3 kids also in band, its my go-to for all things music!
Will never come back to this location as long as they have the pipsqueak still working at counter! With how times are hard for business you should really watch how you talk to your customers and I will also spread the word!
Very helpful had the cable I needed when every other store around didnt have it
Came here to get my guitar tuned and strings replaced. The employees were kind and handled my guitar with a lot of care. Will probably return here in the future :)
WE would like to thank Joel and Joseph for their kindness and help. My wife went to the store to have her Violin tuned and new strings replace. They were both great
Courteous and respectful friendly and helpful. Ill be back.
I bought a trombone for my son here as birthday gift. He loved it and best part. It was not terribly expensive.
Was only in town for a few days and wanted to take Bass lessons. They set me up with 2, one hour sessions. Rusty is the man, such a good and helpful teacher. Love Ted Brown Music!
Joel is the man! Fastest stringer around. Did a great job on my 12 string.
This place rents student instruments and has about everything musically you could want. Staff is nice and they have a loyalty program.
Great store picks and strings are cheap electric clip tuners are great and only around $10-20, customer help is great n friendly.
Friendly and knowledgeable staff. I could spend hours here!
Lets just say, if youre going to get anything guitar/piano/drums/sound system, make the drive to Guitar Center. The staff is uninformed and rude. And the stock is limited and expensive.Whenever Ive gone here, Ive left empty handed and frustrated and Ive given it a couple of tries. I even applied here because Im a drummer and felt like I could use my knowledge here, but theyd rather stick with people who dont know the difference between a 2B and a 5A.
Its hit and miss with this place, depending on who you talk to. Been sold things that are overpriced when something else would be just as good if not better
Smaller store limited selection but nice staff
I wish they would stay open till like 10:00 for one and for two the staff has no patience for thier costomers this is the one in puyallup the in Tacoma I would recommend because they have patience for thier customers but I still wish they would stay open later like 10:00
Great and helpful, just wish they had a bigger guitar selection
Nice and helpful.
Rude pushy staff, terrible hours. Dont open till 10?
My brothers b-day we got him a key board
Joel is awesome
