Nice place to shoot. Went for my first time today, just did a safety orientation, paid for my lane and I was off. Not sure what the bad reviews are about, I got great service and everyone was quite friendly. Will definitely return soon. They also seem to have a good supply of firearms and ammunition available.
My wife was in a situation that should have been handled completly differently. John apparently the mgr has no concepet of how to run a retail store. If you buy something there and there is a problem they Do Not Care. My wife came home from the Marksman crying shows the lack of experence in magement. If you buy anything at the Marksman remember Cavita Emptor!!
Great place to shoot and the staff where great. Went to try out some pistols before buying. The staff gave me recommendations and were very patient with me. Will be coming back soon thanks guys
Clean and welcoming to women of all ages. They are very nice.
I have been to this Range at least a half dozen times in the last 4 -6 months. Each time I am met with knowledgeable, professional and courteous salesmen and women. They run a safe well maintained range. In contrast, I have been to places where I treated like a nuisance not here. I would buy my guns, parts and accessories from here in the future without hesitation. I always send people here for a good experience purchasing or getting an education about firearms.
So I have been reading some of these reviews. I am gonna call myself a beginner although I shot before, its just been a while. So I met John Minzer told him I am just looking to see what is comfortable for me and looking to purchase another day. He spent over an hour with me and we narrowed down a few handguns. I think the people that written the bad reviews were a little off. I had nothing but great service with all questions answered. I will buy my first gun here. Thank John you are AWESOME.
Very disorganized service! No one knows what’s going on, everyone’s rude and has different answers for even simple questions. They will literally not talk to you in till you make contact with them, and then act like it’s a bother! The gunsmiths hours are 12-6 Tuesday through Saturday but good luck catching him there before 1:30To wrap this up, bad information, bad services, and high to overpriced items.
I did not purchase a firearm from Marksman solely based on their terrible customer service. Both of the fellas working at the time I was visiting were extremely condescending and their standards for handling the gats I was looking at made absolutely no sense; which is fine because it’s their store, but at least be tactful. I understand that we, as people, occasionally have “off” days, but this was over the top. Not a good look for people working in the FA industry. Look up some YouTube videos on people skills and do better.
I havent been there in a few years. But the staff is always helpful and friendly
Great store and excellent service. I highly recommend this store.
There were plenty of staff for a busy Saturday morning. There were lots of guns available to try out on their range and I ended up purchasing one I enjoyed shooting. There was one staff member who was particularly experienced and helpful. They didn’t talk down to us or act arrogantly, but were informative. The price on my pistol was also $30 cheaper than the ten other stores I called in Puget Sound.
My favorite Range.Family FriendlyJoin the club and get training
Doug is awesome to deal with and always goes above and beyond to get my orders squared away and here on time. Very good pricing and a pleasure to deal with. Thanks!!
Completely ridiculous, 1/13/21 the power is out and when calling to see about picking up my firearm that had a proceed on, they don’t even answer the phone. There is no one inside as a customer and they don’t answer their phone. As a frequent customer here this is completely ridiculous for anyone to have to try and get someone on the phone for 25 mins plus on hold..
Good selection and helpful staff
Great informed staff. Large selection of handguns even during the shortage and reasonable price for range ammo. I will definitely be back.
I took possession of a Sig P320 M18 that I purchased thru an online store, but ultimately purchased from the Marksman. A flawless deal, handled with extreme professionalism! All follow up inquiries were handled quickly in a very friendly & again professional manner.I HIGHLY recommend The Marksman, Doug and the Crew Top Notch! Wish I lived locally to them!
Every time i go in to the store or call the service is worse than the time before. Im no stranger to gun stores and ive bought multiple guns from here, but no longer. The last time I used them as an FFL it took them 6 days to tell me my gun was ready once they had it in their possession. Apparently someone had taken some vacation time and she was the only one who could do the job or something? Ok thats fine except I had a transfer that required literally no paperwork. I was standing in the store, where my gun was, and they couldnt be bothered to give it to me. Said oh just come back in a few days...I guess if i lived right down the street this wouldnt be a big deal. Anyway i finally go to get it and they charged me 45 dollars, or about 25% of the total gun price, for the transfer. It used to be 20 and i used to not care because they were actually doing paperwork for me. So now youre going to tell me I cant buy anything from here because theyre sold out of everything. And if i buy online and have it transferred then youre going to gouge me. Long story short I kept the 2k in my pocket that I was going to use for a few gift cards and I went to Cabelas. Its a bunch of little things, but there are so many companies out there with good customer service, its just not worth getting treated like shlt just to have someone take my money.
Chill n shoot. No bs, no unnecessary safety rules compared to the other places in the area. Clean. Friendly staff. OK with steel cased ammo, although some other reasonable restrictions apply (and they do explain why ...). Surprisingly inexpensive entry fee, package deals ...Target holders sometimes shake cause they are suspended on the steel wire drive, not a biggie, just an fyi.Overall - very cost effective, u totally get what you pay for.
Buyer beware! I’ve been going to the marksman for about 20 years. They’ve always been friendly and knowledgeable. However they no longer take care of their customers. Before purchasing a magazine, I asked if it would fit my firearm as the magazine was labeled for a newer generation. The salesperson said yes so I purchased and went onto the range. The magazine seated and functioned but didn’t seat as tightly as my other magazines. I found that it pinched my finger each time I fired. I stopped using it and went to the counter. They told me there was nothing they could do. The salesman said since it was used they couldn’t help me even though I had been given the wrong information and never left. Nice people but terrible service. I won’t be purchasing anything from them again!
Cancelled can order due to unable to complete kiosk. Seems staff had minimal knowledge about that important part of the process.
Not a place for new gun buyers. I went to try and have them recommend a gun for me. They did neither said I wasnt allowed to try the guns unless I had someone experienced with me. Not great customer service. I was hoping to buy a gun today and have the staff next to me when I tried a few. Nope. Lost a sale...
By far the best indoor Range Ive been to. The staff ensures that all targets are at the required distances to make the range as safe as possible so I dont get hit with someones ricochet. Being prior military I have been to many indoor ranges and all but this one allow anyone (even those with no experience) to get out on the range with no one helping them nor do the other ranges give a Range Safety Orientation! The exhaust system to remove the lead and carbon from the air is definitely working! I have yet to get smoked out on the range unlike other indoor ranges. To give you an idea of how great this place is for shooters of all experiences they offer rentals of most calibers and will even go as far as helping you try out the ones that will best suite the needs you describe to them. Their customer service is top notch! Now, Ive read some of the reviews on here and it is funny how they write a review for the gunsmith which is not even an employee of The Marksman. HE IS A SEPARATE COMPANY!!!! Stop acting like idiots. Also, If you have never been here, dont write a review based on others reviews. This a family friendly firearms store and a well taken care of range! Please dont take someones exaggerations into consideration when it comes to getting good knowledge and and a great experience!
I love this place! Ive bought a few firearms here, and have been coming here for 6 years. I used to live next door in the large apartment complex. The only positive to living there was how close I was to The Marksman. haha Ive been to their indoor shooting range many times. Its very well kept. Their personnel are very nice and knowledgeable. The only critiques I have is they could use more ammunition selection, more reloading supplies like bullets, cases, and some misc tools. They do have powder and primers now though. :-) I wish they had some cheap plinking ammunition, but I understand they have to make a profit somehow. Overall I will continue to be a loyal customer.
I went to the Marksman Indoor Range for the first time last Thursday and had a fabulous experience. I interacted with multiple staff members, and found them all to be knowledgeable, friendly, and helpful. I am a new shooter, so I had a lot of questions (and I mean a LOT)... all of which were answered with patience and expertise. It was so encouraging. I am really looking forward to shooting there again!
5 stars hands down. Very friendly staff. Very knowledgeable about the products, rules and regulations for both state and federal. GREAT prices. A good 25 percent less on most their firearms compared to other local shops and online. Range is adequate, its a 50yd range. Kept up pretty well for how poorly Ive seen other customers care for it. Have and will again recommend. The only thing I would rate them down on is ammo prices, but thats not really the business they are in.
WOW, after reading the other reviews, Im wondering if people went to the correct gun store to review. I found The Marksman to be friendly (for a gun shop), knowledgeable, and quick to give service. They were courteous to me and others, from what I witnessed, so I decided to purchase a few guns from them. Everything went smoothly and I felt they genuinely appreciated my business. The range may seem a bit cool at first, but this is great as it helps in many ways. Youll be shooting so your heart rate will increase (youll get warmer), your glasses/goggles wont fog up, and your hands stay dryer (remember, youre shooting a gun in there). The gym is a little cool when you first walk in, too... why should this differ?Do yourself a favor and go to this gun store to see their excellent (huge) selection of weapons for sale - I was amazed. Whether youre a LEO or a first-timer, youll enjoy yourself. And their prices are right on par with prices ON THE INTERNET. The bad reviews are just weird people.
Good ammo prices. We have always enjoyed practicing there. They have a great range of firearms on hand to check out.
Great place. Loved how easy it was to get in. Tried out a couple of guns and the guys and gal behind the desk were very helpful and knowledgeable.
Always a great experience when I come here. Oscar is the best with his smart-ass attitude. Helps you feel welcomed. Theyre good at explaining if you have questions. I always enjoy going. Only flaw is the air system. It delivers whatever is going on outside. So dress warm in the winter because that cold air is blowing on you!
These guys are RUDE. I will NERVER go again. i recommend you go elsewhere.
Worst gun buying experience ever! Buyer beware. There are better options in your community to purchase a firearm. Please do yourself a favor and go somewhere else!
I went there in the early 80s not long after they first started then moved away. Now after a many year hiatus I am back going there again on nearly a weekly basis for the last 6 months. Ive upgraded my gun collection after buying a couple guns there lately, each at a fair price. The gunsmith who contracts out of their shop is extremely skilled and very helpful. I had him work on a couple of my guns and was highly satisfied. Their staff always greets me with a smile. They are courteous, helpful and enjoy talking guns. Sometimes the Marksman is very busy, but thats a good thing; I enjoy being around gun enthusiasts from all walks of life. I enjoy chatting with other customers and sharing stories and experiences when not on the range punching holes in paper.
This location is very easy to get to and Ive not ever had to wait for a lane. Perhaps my good luck. They have a wide range of products and a gun smith on site. The lanes themselves need a bit more lighting and for gods sake, some temperature control. If you go in the winter dress for an outdoor range minus snow or rain.
Very rude staff, I was not in the store 1 minute when I was told to step back outside because they did not have enough staff to keep an eye on me. I don’t know if it was the color of my skin!? But I would not recommend anybody spend a dime at this place! Not recommended at all!! I drove from Tuckwila to come check out the shop as I had heard good things about it but I realize it was a waste of time and that I drove all that way just to have a bad experience and a racist experience!
I have been a customer for over 7 years. The staff is knowledgeable and professional. The range is clean, well lit and reasonably priced. I have purchased over $3000 worth of firearms from them and their prices have been the best around- my last purchase was $20 less than the lowest I could find online. Ammunition prices can be beaten by big box stores and online- but they are lower than the ammo prices at other indoor ranges. Top notch and I highly recommend them.
I was looking for a new gun. I went all over looking for it. I stopped in to see if they had my gun in stock. They did and at a good price so I bought it. Sales guy could not wait to sit down in his chair and hurried me out the door. I was only there for 25 minutes tops. The sales man didnt seem like he wanted to help me at all. I new more about the gun I wanted to purchase than he did. I even asked about a new holster for my new gun or a light and he did even seem to care at all. So I left and I took my money too another store and bought my flashlight and holster some where else.
I came here to do a FFL transfer of a shotgun (WA resident to OR resident) they said that it was illegal and they could not do the transfer unless i was LEO or active mil.We went the welchers a few days later and did the transfer.
Used to go to this range every couple of months. Many good things to say, big one that stands out is it seems very safe here. You need a range card first time there, which means a general safety class and also orients you to their range. That gives a little peace of mind that they at least feel someone out who just walks in before you let them rent and shoot any weapon they have there. Many ranges dont do that. The staff seems very with it, and alert, but not to the point it made me uncomftorable. So many things you see people do without thinking, like a finger on a trigger, distracted and they turn with the weapon to look at something, having a weapon loaded or pointed in the wrong place, it is much more likely to get corrected here than most ranges. If you want to double tap, pull from the holster, or do more realistic training, they dont allow that here. It is still worth coming though, they have a large selection of weapons to rent, staff seems very knowledgeable and good opinions about what type of weapon to use for your wants, concealment, type of ammo, etc, etc. Got a pretty decent price for a few weapons I sold to them. They also have a lot of classes for getting permitted in multiple states, tactics, and many other subjects.
Wish I could review the range separately because it was good. The gun prices however are slightly higher and they wont give prices over the phone otherwise they would never sell any. Sportsmans warehouse had better prices.
Wife and I had a good time. Their specials on certain days are great too. Range was very fresh and well circulated and I enjoy their emphases on gum safety and rules. Will be going back to enjoy their military Shooting days.Great stock of handguns as well
Great customer service! very convenient kiosk for suppressor paperwork. Convenient to visit NFA items as well since it’s also a range!
I have been shooting and buying from The Marksman for many years and I have never experienced a negative or uncomfortable visit. The staff has always been professional, knowledgeable and attentive. I was referred to The Marksman and have referred numerous friends and will continue to do so. Whether practicing, renting a gun to try out, buying or questions about any equipment, I have always left very satisfied. This should go without saying but here it is; As long as you adhere to the range and range masters rules you will have a great outing.
Really poor customer service. I dont expect gun store folks to be warm and fuzzy, but at least treat me like a person. We were treated very condescendingly by Steve and the older woman. Had an issue with a gun we rented and they acted like we were stupid. Steve laughed at me when I grabbed the wrong item by mistake.Really awful if youre learning or have any questions. Theyll act like youre inconveniencing them by wanting help or additional information. But thats fine, Ill just take my money elsewhere. I hear Marys Pistols has much better customer service. :)
Just wanted to write my review and tell people how my experience was at the Marksman. All employees were very helpful and knowledgeable. My husband and I went in for our first indoor range experience, and came out purchasing my first handgun and becoming a member. Oscar, was patient, kind and very helpful with helping me find a handgun. I didnt feel rushed at all. He even took the time to write out every handgun that I had somewhat interest in so that I could practice shooting each one. All employees had their eyes on the range at all times, which made me feel more safe to be shooting with people I didnt know. My husband and I will continue to go practice at the marksman and I will be going back for their womens classes soon. Highly recommended.
Good choice of pistols and rifles for decent prices. They have a good range there for pistol and rifle. Your first time there you need to do a 10 to 15 min class of pretty much common sense gun safety.
Great experiences every time; will return!I have only purchased one weapon from them so far, but my wife and I have also taken one of their courses. I highly recommend them; knowledgable and friendly staff. We will be buying from them in the future as well as taking more of their courses. I am not sure what parts of the staff these bad reviews are about, but everyone I have encountered was very friendly and helpful. They never once talked down to me or my wife, before, during or after the purchase or class. It was actually refreshing with the guys I talked to (being military and handling rifles and heavy weapons for years), I admitted that I was military and dont have any experience with pistols and need to start from square one. They treated me very fairly and spent a great deal of time with my wife and I even though we told them we werent buying anything that day. Thats when we returned and signed up for the Introduction to Handguns class. The class was top-notch, taught by very qualified personnel, and I recommend it to anyone not proficient with a pistol. We will be returning for the other classes they offer.
Prices are fair, decent selection of firearms and firearm accessories. Purchased my first handgun here. Havent had the chance to try the range.
The staff was very helpful and knowledable. Their prices were competitive and they have great selection. I wouldn’t go anywhere else to purchase a firearm.
If youre a serious shooter looking to train, this is not the place to come. Rapid firing and drawing is not allowed and there are limits on what kind of targets and target distances you can have. This place is only good for those who recreationally shoot for giggles with their friends, who dont care about actually progressing in the sport. This coming from a uspsa and idpa master class competitive shooter. Although, I would highly recommend Federal Way Discount Guns, where they allow all your competitive shooter needs and have a very friendly staff.
Overall this is a great place to shoot and purchase firearms from. The reason I rated them a one star is because of the staff that are being extremely overbearing with the indoor shooting range. When you were shooting at a full-size target that is the size of a human torso and you are conducting training for your job making sure you are still able to draw then fire and make that round count on the center mass of the target nine out of 10 times a shooting will take place in less than 25 feet however the staff here feel that no full-size target should be shot at closer than 25 feet that is where most engagements happen between that 3 foot and 25 foot Mark. Not to mention if somebody has a military card for the shooting range and or a law-enforcement card for the shooting range then you would think the staff would know that that person conducting target practice is more than adequately trained to engage a target closer than 25 feet and further than 25 feet so you would think they would be OK with somebody continuing to keep their marksmanship up but instead they flip out and tap on the glass and hold a sign up to the window no target shoot on full-size targets closer than 25 feet. Not to mention they they only want somebody shooting one bullet every one seconds. So one round per second they do not want you doing succession firing a.k.a. squeeze the trigger then squeeze the trigger again immediately afterwords they want you to squeeze then pause then squeeze then pause. You’re better off going to the bull’s-eye shooting range where they are completely friendly towards continuing your marksmanship from whatever distance you choose so long as you were safe
This place is garbage, staff is rude and the have absolutely no knowledge of the stuff they carry.
Went in looking for to buy a handgun. Unfortunately they did not have the model I wanted in stock, but, even thought they were very busy, the guy helping me took time to explain when they might get some in and who else in the area might have some in stock. The second time I went in I was looking into parts for my AR-15. I let him know what I was interested in doing with it and he was very thorough in going through all the options and comparing the differences with me without making me feel stupid. He was in no rush to sell me anything and even gave me some options that would not be possible through the Marksman. Very satisfied with my time spent here, will return for future questions and purchases.
I went in to buy an AR 15 but I was in work clothes so I guess I didnt look like a buyer. I Sat there at the counter with my wallet in my hand for a full 25 minutes and watched other, more well dressed patrons be waited on.I will never again darken their door with my construction worker clothes (or money) again!
Wish I could say I had a pleasant experience with this business. Seems I’m not the only one after reading the reviews.Plenty of other places that are full of knowledge and experience.Bullseye, Surplus Ammo, Big Js, etc.
Really close to my house and really enjoy coming here. I gave it three stars because I could not give it 2.5, half of the people that work here are great and very helpful but sadly the other half act as if you bothered them when you ask them a question. I come here to practice so it really doesnt bother me I just assume they have problems they should have left at home before going to work. I suggest if you live close by you should come here and practice you will find out who is helful and who is not once you can accomplish this youll be just fine. I would suggest to get rid of half of the employees that put a damper on that place but I understand that its hard to find good help now a days.
Good selection and prices knowledgeable Staff. Indoor range is the nicest I have been too, good ventilation. It can be a bit cold on the range because of this, wear a hoodie if its cold outside.
No clue why people say they have bad service. I am 21 and my buddy is 19. As young adults I felt like with all the bad reviews, we would ultimately have had the worst time. They are very helpful and friendly. Didnt feel like anyone was over-watching me. Signing up for the range was simple and straight forward. Gun rentals were awesome. Definitely going in again and making my first purchase.
Have been a customer here for over two years now. A busy, professional, well stocked shop. Have shipped out of state orders to this FFL without issue as they are always happy to help. Be polite and respectful, and youll get the same in return. A great selection of quality rentals. And ladies, they go out of their way to assist lady shooters and have women behind the counter as well as Ladies Night on Tuesdays (no range fee). Highly recommended.
Not a bad place, good selection for rental guns. Staff was nice, not very talkative. I love talking about guns, at a gun shop. However the range was freezing! Not sure if I like that. I dont want to bundle up to shoot.
A friend & I (my 1st time) visited and it was positive. The RSO we dealt with was on point. Ill be back!🥊👑
I love to support local stores, but this one lost my business forever today. Waited for 15-20 min for help. I finally had to get in the checkout line for someone to acknowledge my presence. All I needed was a crush washer for my AR. Their gunsmith had to help me. He finally came back with one and wanted $10 bucks for a $3.00 washer!! Really?? I knew this place was expensive, but this was over the top. This place is taking price gouging to a whole new level!!! Never coming here again. Buyer beware!!!
Gun shop and range buried behind a strip mall on a busy avenue. Fair trader and some values to be had. Sales people can be finicky about handling their inventory. Tread lightly. Range use requires a one-time safety class. nice, but cold bays.
The staff and owner are very friendly and willing to help you out in anyway to get the right gun, owner called his supplier to see if he could get me a hard to find rifle, great prices on all the guns there have bought 6 guns at the marksman Now! I’ll continue to come back time and time again
Dont try to any questions here unless you enjoy condescending half answers.
I just called to check if they still require membership to use their range where you have to sit down and go through a safety class and pay money to just come in and shoot your gun on TOP of a range fee. And YEP... They continue to do this and I cant even count how many times they lost out on my money and most of my friends as well because of this. On my way to Champion Arms in Kent once again!
I have shopped and shot at the Marksman since it was new, and I have enjoyed every minute of it. I personally believe the staff is knowledgeable, polite but all business. If you come there to socialize with the staff, youre in the wrong place. If you come there to acquire knowledge of their stock, or to shoot on a clean, well litfully functioning indoor range, youre in the right place. One cannot ask for more than that.Hal
Purchased our fourth weapon from The Marksman today and continued to receive the excellent service that weve come to expect. Our salesman took the time needed to show, and explain to us, all of the products that we were looking at. He also took the time to mount the optics that we decided on.
Update. The jerk referred to in my review is now gone. The personnel are all very nice and polite. It is a great place to go.I went with my husband. My first time here. If you are a man I guess its okay but talk about attitude toward women. The guy barely even acknowledged me. Would only deal with my husband. We did orientation with another couple. The guy basically spoke to the husbands and made comments like us women were incompetent. I hope to find another place to go.
They are in business. Just completed a class yesterday and the people were very nice, informative, helpful and freindly. If you are new to shooting or guns I would highly recommend them. Intro to handguns class allow you to try many different guns and calibers to get a feel for what is best for you at no additional costs. Try before you buy is an excellent way to know what is best for you, not taking the word of others.
Great, comfortable LGS & Range, to shoot and purchase firearms. These folks run a clean and tight shop. While it may take a bit of extra time, your first visit, I really appreciate the mandatory range orientation class. This requirement promotes the safe environment that Ive experienced, at The Marksman, for years.
Clean professional and well kept. They pay attention to whats happening on the range and they require a short class prior to being cleared to use the range. They also have blue label prices for military &police.
I ordered a firearm from them, and they shipped it to my local dealer. There was a mix up on my end, and their websales department was very accommodating and responded promptly. Fantastic customer service.
I dont much care for shooting indoors here. They require a fee to read the rules to you if you are new at shooting. The lanes have nylon rope which is easily shot down by ricochet hitting their metal plate holding the target or just a terrible shot hitting the cable. Theyre pulley systems breakdown and you have to actually push the circuit breaker back in. I dont much care for the one round 1 second rule. If you want to just shoot a bunch of holes in paper fine. If you want to work on competition shooting multiple rounds in a short time forget it. I would recommend going to Bullseye in Tacoma. The staff are pretty chill at marksman though and will help you out if you have a problem. They have decent gun classes that I think everybody should take. There gun prices are fair.
Dont try to call them and ask for assistance. They have better things to do.
I like the option of trying so many different weapons at a good price. Staff was friendly, informative, and helpful.
I bought a gun from this place and I regret it. The staff were super rude. They almost acted mad I was buying a gun from them and if they werent the only ones that had it I would have never bought it in the first place. They add an extra 5 day wait if you do not have a concealed and they dont say anything about it until your money has been taken and you ask when to expect a call. And they are also overpriced on everything, especially ammo. I know better now and I have Marys Pistols order all my guns, they beat all prices and are super cool staff.
I just love all the folks there. Always so helpful. I feel very comfortable & in my element. Thank you guys!
DOUG IS THE MAN. GREAT SERVICE AND A PLEASURE TO WORK WITH. 2ND PURCHASE. HIGHLY RECOMMEND.
There is a fairly good selection of firearms here for purchase and / or rental. The staff are pretty friendly, but did seem to push me toward Glock stuff even though I dont particularly care for Glocks. I was a little disappointed with the lack of AR parts, and the ammo prices are all over the place. Still, as far as gun stores go, this one is descent.
Ive had several attempted dealings with this company, and have been thoroughly underwhelmed by their customer service. First time around, I saw online that they had a pistol I was looking for, called to check and they affirmed they had it in stock. Showed up and they not only DID NOT have it in stock, but acted like it was my fault that I drove 45 minutes out there without checking first. Then when I asked for a hand taking a look at some other pistols I was considering, I was told that the only person behind the front counter couldnt leave the front counter to help me, but he would have somebody else come out to help. Half an hour water, after checking back in twice I walked out.Second experience, found out that they had a pistol up for auction on a site, and wanted to come look at it. When I called ahead to inquire about it they said they had no such item. After I said Id seen it in an auction, they agreed that they did have it for auction, but refused to sell it outside of the auction. Ok, fair enough. I can bid like the rest of em. Can I come look at it in person? No. Why? Because its not available.Moral of the story- dont waste your time with a company that couldnt care less about you or your business. Id gladly pay more elsewhere, just so this company wont have my business.
I found that it isnt so busy when you get there at 7:30 pm. Staff has always been kind, prices good. Its an hour drive for me, but worth it.
I have great experiences here. Staff is really nice and knowledgeable. Plus a great selection for rentals on handguns.
I have been here several times and have very positive experiences. I was originally very skeptical to shop here due to the numerous bad reviews.I have used the range numerous times and purchased a gun here and everyone has been very professional and nice. I am very familiar with firearms, so I am not sure if this causes the staff to treat me differently than first-time buyers.I plan on shopping here again.
I really like this place. The staff is friendly and knowledgeable, and the indoor range fees are very reasonable compared to what I am used to paying.
Worst pricing I have seen compared to any other gun shop in a 50 mile radius. There are a couple nice employees, but ran in to a women that was rude, and lied about the pricing at another gun shop. I highly recommend shopping any other gun shop before buying here, it was a 80.00 dollars higher for one gun, and 50.00 higher for another one. If someone says they have good pricing, they have not shopped another shop yet.
Called to ask about purchasing an HK SP5. I live 85 miles away, and they told me I would have to drive there to tell me the price. What a joke of a way to run a business. I will purchase elsewhere!
Great service. Staff is friendly. Overall had a great time. Nice range.
Pretty friendly staff, oscar is very knowledgeable and helpful. Steve was kind of a dick. The prices are pretty high on products but the range isnt bad.
The gunsmith working out of this shop - Millard Hixon (Summit Arms)- is horrible to work with. I dropped off a Dan Wesson .357 magnum in early January 2017. After waiting for 2 years for the gun back, after numerous visits, and promises broken to repair the pistol - I went and picked it up January of 2019. In pieces. Gun does not work and is not finished, was halfway through a cylinder replacement. I do not believe I would have ever received it back, so I went and picked it up before it ended up lost forever. While the gunsmith now has his own business, separate from Marksman - it is a very poor reflection on the Marksman itself. I told them about my troubles on three occasions, and I was offered zero help to resolve the situation with the in house gunsmith. For this reason, I am leaving this review - the two businesses are tied together and the reason I brought my gun there is the reputation of Marksman.
This is a great place. I went in for an intro to hand guns course, not having shot a hand gun in decades. The staff has been nothing but helpful and friendly. I gotten lots of advice on what to carry and how to carry it. Ive had staff suggest favorite guns from the rental case, gotten advise to improve aim, etc. I really dont understand the negative comments of course I treat the staff with respect and get the same in return.
If you are a beginner and want to learn, dont bother coming here. I listened to a fellow at the counter talk with someone and another customer and I rolled our eyes at the obviously condescending tone. This was my first, and last, time in the store. I noticed the new customer didnt buy anything and quietly slipped out -- never to be seen there again, Im betting. The owner should come in to watch and listen to how his customer opportunities (aka SALES) are being squandered by smart-alec know-it-all employees. Oh My Gosh ..... what if that WAS the owner?
Quickest background checks I have been through. Friendly staff and great selection and prices.
Id drive 60 miles in any direction to avoid doing business with this shop. Service is absolutely horrid. The sales staff isnt very knowledgeable and have a real elitist attitude (ironic considering they are a low budget vendor). Not friendly and very opinionated. Literally the worst shopping experience Ive ever had (Vulcan Knives was worse) . Their prices are RIDICULOUS and they love to gouge and take advantage of gun scares and ammo shortages. I saw 500 count box of 22lr ammo for $75 one time. I absolutely hate this business!
Took a class here today and while informative i felt like there was not enough time being able to shoot and get the hang of it. also there was 3 instructors for a relatively good size group of students so most of the time i was standing around waiting for my time with the gun instead of actually shooting and getting good solid practice in. 2 of the instructors were good and then 1 not so good. the girl with the blonde dreadlocks was very encouraging and great, the bald gentleman was nice and good at explaining things however the older woman with silver hair was very snappy and i did not feel such a warm vibe with her. we are new students learning not expert shooters. all in all it was just an ok experience. i will be definitely be researching to find more classes that seem more extensive with more hands on time
They were real nice and helpful I even left the tip LOL!
Very helpful to me! They were friendly and informative, especially to someone who had never fired a pistol before going here
This is the only range in the area that charges a $10 one-time safety fee, their wait-times are long with no way of reserving before coming down, they dont allow for quotes over the phone, staff isnt the friendliest or professional. If you are coming to purchase a weapon, expect a wait before youre help, and their prices are barely average. So far my experience with them has not been enjoyable and Ive gotten the impression of such from other customers.
Meh. The place is ok. It’s honestly my least favorite shooting range but in close proximity to my house. At this point I think I rather freeze out in the cold for different options near me. Not impressed!!! Nearly every time I’ve gone someone on staff has been rude to me. If you have other options, I would try for somewhere else.
This place has some of the worst customer service I have ever experienced. I inherited three firearms from a family member and had them transferred in from a different state. When I first asked about the transfer process I was basically only given a price, no specific about the process. When I was ready to begin the transfer, an employee just gave me some forms, wrote the price on them, and told me to go home and fill them out on my own. When I returned the next day, the same employee accused me of writing the price on the forms!! He claimed it wasnt his hand writing and he would not have written the price on the forms. Yeah right, I told him I stood there the day before and watched him do it. So, finally had the guns in transit, and upon arrival I received no notification. I had to find out from UPS that they had been delivered on a Friday, before noon. I called Friday evening and the employee on the phone couldnt even be bothered to check if they had actually arrived. He then proceeded to tell me that they never go into a weekend without processing received firearms, so I should get a call that evening. No one ever called me. I went in on Friday night and an employee verified they had been received, but then told me the lady who does the processing had gone home and that I should get a call the next day. Again, no one called me. I waited all Saturday and all Sunday (mind you they are open seven days a week) and still no call. Then I went in again on Monday and the employees acted like I was burdening them by asking about MY guns. Another employee then told me they dont have office staff on the weekends so no one had processed my guns. And a side note about the processing, I asked three different employees what this processing involved, and all three said they had no idea what they do upstairs. What kind of place are these people running?? I would highly suggest going somewhere else for any firearm needs. This place treats you like a piece of $h1t unless youre wearing a badge.
