I purchased an 11 inch screen, the sales person assured me that it would not be easy to steal because of how it is installed. After install, I noticed it had a wiggle to it, I applied very little pressure and it pulled right out. They took it back and reinstalled it, this time it was much better. I’m not sure what happened with the first install, but it concerns me that had I not noticed the movement, someone could have easily stolen it out of my truck. The salesman was great, however I did not appreciate the lead installer, he gave me some grief for me pulling it out, like I yanked on it or something, like I said, very little pressure was used

Josh does great work and is very helpful. I explained my situation to him and he fit me in to his schedule as a walk in and fixed my issue. Today I came in because I was having a problem with my driver side speakers and fixed it so fast it was free of charge. Josh was courteous and very helpful and because of that Cartoys will be my go to when I need work done on my car audio.

Always get great service at this location. I’ve been in the car audio world for a couple of decades now with various builds under my belt. I appreciate the knowledge base of some of the veteran employees at the puyallup location, especially Keoni and Gilbert. I know others out there have had bad experiences with Car Toys, but it’s a rarity and not the norm, just like almost any business. I will continue to shop here and pick their brains about all things car audio related.

Absolutely had an amazing experience here, I see some of these reviews and question myself if they ever happened, when I arrived I had an issue with my stereo not working or connecting to my phone the salesman Alec came out and saved me hundreds of dollars fixing it than to going back to the dealership and having them deal with it; they way he presented himself and spoke with me I just had to support him so I ended up buying a KENWOOD ddin for my car and I’ve never been happier with the customer service! It’s nice talking to someone that has a conversation with you back and doesn’t want you out the door immediately one of nicest and caring sales person I’ve met so far keep it up!!!

Did my own installation and there was just too many wires to get it all right. The sound just wasnt right there while creating other electrical problems. First, got a great price on a new head unit for my Jeep but clearly needed help in getting the sound right. Casey is the man that got it all sorted out. Managed to see through what I had done and made the corrections. Got the system working the way it should and sounding great. Save yourself the headache and just take it to Casey!

I had an install that was time critical and needed to be done on the only day I had available. I dropped my car off the night prior to pick up the next day. I was told it would be done around noon. I called at 3:30 pm the next day to confirm that the install was complete. They put me on hold and forgot about my call at first, then when I did get back in contact with a person they told me it wasnt going to be done today, without any explanation as to why. When I asked for clarification, they said I needed to tell them another day I was available. This was upsetting because I live 1.5 hours from this car toys and I had no other availability, on top of me not being able to drive this vehicle without the installation. I explained my particular situation and why it was so important to have it done that day.They redeemed themselves after that phone call. They were understanding to my situation and bumped my install ahead of their other projects. It was complete by the time I arrived and although it seemed fairly chaotic in the store, I had a great experience with the manager I worked with and I am grateful to the technician that prioritized my vehicle.I understand that this store had a person that called out sick and they were short handed. My recommendation is that Car Toys invests more money into staffing and training for their staff at the Puyallup location so that the staff does not get overwhelmed by customer volume when an employee calls out sick, leaving customers very confused and dissatisfied by their experience.

When installing the product that I pay 1000.00 dollars for to do the job right and make sure that it works before giving the customer there vehicle back so they dont have to make appointment to fix there mistake. While also I brought my own subs, box, and Amp they said they wouldnt install them because one sub was were blown even though it wasnt blown so I had to buy extra subs and still thay dont work so this is one of my worst experiences I have had I would like my money back.

My experience with this location has been nothing but amazing and supportive. I came in to get my windows tinted last week they set me up with a date and followed up with answers to my random questions I had throughout the process and after the process.The team at this location followed up with questions I had right away by giving me a call after they got answers about getting a wrap done in my vehicle and replacing my headlights.Once my car was done we did a walk around my vehicle and again they were able to ease my concerns about my new tints. Im truly grateful for the team at this location and they will always have my business and will always be the first set of people I call when I want something done to my vehicle.The team is knowledgeable on the vehicles we talked about and provided great information to customers that walked in with their concerns. The team never waivered from providing great customer service with each and every customer that walked through their doors.

They dont have much workers so if your expecting a quick service, think again. Their helpful and do what they can, but when they finally get to help you, their usually really good at helping you with whatever you need. If your looking to do an install or some kind of service for your sounds, they charge hourly and its 100.00 per hour. Cool place to check out though

Pricing was competitive to others I had received quotes from and the staff was friendly, professional, and did a great job showing me the new features of my new unit. WHAT A SCAM i thought i needed to change out my headlights completely as i bought new hid lights and i assumed it wasnt plug and go i took my car in and they charged me 180.00 for five min of work instead of the man coming and telling me that i can just plug my bulbs in (i bought and brought my own into the store) he definitely scammed me and the managers were ok with this and told me if it was only five min i should have done it myself i asked to review the cameras showing that changing a headlight took 1 1/2 hours and id be fine paying that and they told me no

Worst customer service. Came in with 3 employees helping 1 person. Not one person could help me right away although there were 3 employees. Once they were done, they still seemed to ignore me. I was there to get a quote on back up camera. They insisted on replacing my whole stereo system and wanted to install $700 radio. Whole would cost $1400 just to install my simple camera.I get they are sales men, but come on. Went to Foss audio and quoted me $300. Didnt need to replace my stereo system for my back up camera Screw Car toys.

Their pricing seems to always be a scam. They advertised a stereo system for $379 with free installation and free backup camera. When the salesman wrote it up, the cost was nearly $1,900. He said there was all these extra pieces needed that arent included. This has happened a couple times weve gone here. The salesman one time actually told us the low prices are meant to get people in the door and they arent true prices.

One of the very first jobs of a salesman is to be working, another gentleman and myself walked in about the same time.. 5 or so minutes later wandering around we met up again.. I said you find anyone he said no. I said whelp Im over it. He said he was about there. I left. I called. Many rings later no answer. Not trying to get anyone in trouble.. but cmon..take the phone at least when you all desert your post for an extended time... thats basic guys. I mean safety meetings are great. Highly recommended but remember its a business.

I went in during the summer and got a super good deal on a touch screen radio that I had installed here! The customer service the gentleman here provide is more than what’s expected. I was truly satisfied coming here for my car toy needs! I’d also have to mention that when I needed my touch screen removed from one car to put it in another the mechanic/installer Alex “Tim Tim” Chapman did it for so cheap! as though I was really struggling paying for anything at the time. These guys are freaking awesome and would definitely recommend when shopping for your car accessories. 5 star rating. If I could do 6 stars ⭐️ I would. 🤙🏼

Reading some other peoples reviews, you would take it as this place is a hit-and-miss experience. However, my experience was very different. Ive been shopping here for several years now, ever since we moved to the South Hill area, and every single time I have gone in here, they have always been helpful, and are always willing to give words of advice, and even just hang out if its one of their less busy days. I had just purchased my (almost) dream radio from here, a Sony DSX M80 headunit, which even though its the single din Marine variant, still almost exactly what I had wanted, and didnt even know they had one until an employee had pulled it out for me in the back. $280 later I was now the proud owner of a Sony headunit, and after a day of installing it, with a fairly messed up hand, it had worked perfectly as well until the next day it had given me some problems. I called, they said they could take a look at it. So, I bring the car down today, $50 to take a look, not even an issue. What they found is that my own wiring had been fairly godawful, and had sauntered it all together nicely, and fixed it, and even reinstalled everything properly. Didnt even cost me extra for that, and I wasnt expecting them to even fix the problem. Overall, this shop has always been an A+ from me. Although their speaker/subwoofer options may not be the best, and sometimes the displays may be lacking, and hell, you may have to be patient with them sometimes due to an influx of customers, but if you bide your time, and ask the right questions, you will never step out of this store unsatisfied. Thank you guys! And a special thanks to the technician who actually listened to me when I said the ebrake doesnt work, and to not touch it, every other place Ive been to completely disregards it and yanks the ebrake, stretching it further.

I had bought a dvd receiver about 6 months from this store, they had the exact one I was looking for in stock. This last week, the touch screen stopped working, and eventual got to a point where I could no longer listen to music or use any feature. I stopped in here on the way home and found that it was under warranty. The receiver I purchased, is no longer available and none of their stores had one. John helped me and was able to warranty the unit for the latest model receiver they had in stock. They employees here have great customer service and my overall experience was exceptional.

I was a little uncertain due to a poor experience at the Tacoma location but boy was I surprised with how well things went here! I got a remote starter system I ordered online installed today and the store manager kept me up to date on the full order. The team gave my car an amazing detail cleaning that made the care look better than the day I bought it! If I need a cleaning Im definitely going here again. You guys are amazing!

If I had two words to describe this location it would be deceptive and incompetent. They are completely unorganized. Once they have your money they could completely care less about the follow through. Their employees lie just to push you off for someone else to deal with. We learned our lesson and will not be going back to them in the future.

Just making the appointment there should have been the telling tale of how things would go. Just making the appointment I had to talk to three different people for them to figure out what to even do. I requested to drop my car off the night before since I wasn’t able to bring it in the morning of the appointment. Seemed to be no problem. A week later I show up to drop my car off. Only 1 employee wore their mask right and others either had their mask around their chin, nose out or no mask at all. When I was speaking to one of the employees I had to keep backing up because it was making me feel very uncomfortable. They wouldn’t hold my car overnight because they didn’t have room. When my husband and I explained that when we made the appointment they said no problem. They looked at their appointment book and seemed surprised that a note stating that request was in the appointment notes. Then they made it our fault saying we should have brought it before 3 pm because they are holding other cars. We were never told to bring before a specific time. So when we left I cancelled the appointment. There were 4 employees standing there clueless, no customer service skills just scrambling. Staff needs customer service training and maybe just more training in general for their jobs.

Would give zero stars if it were an option. Going to this Car Toys was a waste of time and money.We brought in the first of four cars for our teenagers that are starting to drive to have a stereo installed. Car Toys did not have the one we wanted in stock, so we bought one with the installation kit someplace else and brought it to Car Toys to have it installed, and they were very happy to do the work for installation. The $2000 in parts we bought were the very same ones offered at Car Toys. Per their suggestions I took the old stereo out and tried to plug it in per the instructions. It wasn’t as easy as it looked so I stopped without changing anything about the car, stereo or kit.We then brought it to Car Toys and asked them to complete the installation. We were told they would have no problem completing the install and would, at first, do a one hour diagnostic to figure out what it would take to complete it then give us a cost estimate for the total install. We were expecting 3-4 hours based on what they told us.So after two of us driving 30 minutes to drop the car we left and drove the 30 minutes home. Not long after getting home we got a call saying the car is done. Great, one hour install and it’s done, right? So we went and picked it up, were told to pay $120, given our keys and basically pushed out the door. Got in the car and immediately noticed an ugly new microphone on the A-pillar. Got in the car and started to drive home, only to see that almost nothing worked. The stereo turned on and had sound, but that’s about it.When we got home I called again and was told that the tech thought we only wanted the power connected and nothing else. Not only does that make no sense, it is obviously false since they also added that microphone (that wouldn’t have been necessary if the kit was installed right because the car already has one that the kit is made to use). An extra part of the kit that we bought for $120 was designed to integrate all of the existing systems like steering wheel controls and parking sensors. None of those worked. Even the hazard lights and lock switch (that is part of the stereo) didn’t work.Against my better judgement we took the car back again and told they would connect everything with the same deal, $120 for another 1 hour diagnostic then they would tell me the cost to fix everything. A couple hours later we were called and told it was all done within an hour. So we drove the 30 minutes down again, and were again asked for money, given keys, and sent on our way.The only thing they did was fix the hazards and door locks and moved the screen back an inch. Nothing else was fixed. So we are now out almost $250 plus a total of 8 hours of time between my wife and I driving back and forth and we have a barely functioning system. Most of the features of the $2000 stereo and most of the systems on the car tied to it don’t work.Now we need to go spend even more money and time to find someone who can do the work done that Car Toys could or would not. Don’t waste your time or money here.

Visited store on 2/24/20 looking to upgrade my head unit and add an after market dash kit to make it look clean. Originally I wanted something with wireless Android Auto but was willing to go with a wired setup given they could hide the wires. Here is my overall experience :Pros:• Very friendly and professional staff• Was able to install the same day• Identified issue with back up camera same day of install and noted they would contact the manufacturer and follow up with meCons:• Video feedback when using my back up camera was distorted• In order to play video I have to put my vehicle in park, then drive, then park again. Park should be good enough. It would have been nice if they mentioned the override cable to me during purchase• Asked to put USB connection in compartment, it was placed on the head unit. Manufacturers site said it came with a 58 cord. Im sure the glove box is less than 5 away from the head unit. Found out that there is an aftermarket USB panel after purchase as well.• Was no longer able to open center compartment. Was hitting something under the radio• Could hear something shift behind radio at times.• Communication. Had unit installed on Monday, had to stop in on Sunday for a response.Visited store on 3/1/20 to further address concerns. Was asked to bring it in next day.Dropped off truck on 3/2/20.Pros:• Truck was ready for pickup in roughly 2 hours (great).• Video issues with backup camera was fixed.• No longer sounds like something loose while driving.Cons:• Center compartment was open but now sticks when operating (forever damaged).• No more climate zone sync.• USB cord found in door console (not sure where from).Was not able to resolve USB location issue. Was willing to purchase USB knockout replacement and pay for installment of it in exchange for a new dash kit (without hole in it). Was countered with a subwoofer control knobs installed in place of the USB.Final thoughts: I really wanted a positive experience with this place. Although I could have installed everything myself, I figured these professionals would do a much better job and they had to tools to do the job correctly. Being in the customer service industry, I understand that sometimes things dont go as planned, but as I did more research I felt more like this wasnt an honest transaction. I also prefer coming to a solution together rather than leaving negative feedback. I believe most of the team did the best they could, but unfortunately it still was not good enough. Even if they reached out now to resolve this issue, Im not sure that I would be comfortable with the work. I believe that they may be much better with simple single and double DIN swaps, maybe even alarm and keyless entry systems, but not a fan of complex projects. I was really hoping to drop more money here to upgrade speakers, Amp, and subwoofer, but I think I will look elsewhere. These guys have potential to be solid with more time and training. Make it about the customer and the money will follow.

Well first of all I dont remember the staff member name, but I was in your Meridian store in Puyallup, The guy I was talking to was not helpful or knowledgable of the things I was looking for. I came into the store to get a small RCA (Audio Jumper) for an aftermarket stereo I had installed on my motorcycle. The gentleman kept asking for the year of the bike, which didnt matter becuase the system is completely aftermarket. he kept correcting me even though he know what I was talking about. Also one of the other staff members (he wore a black beanie), I overheard him tell someone if they wanted something cheaper than what they had there was always walmart, I would have been insulted If I were the other customers. They were in store looking to buy a speaker box, a 10 single non-ported box. they asked him if there was a price. and he says its either 60 or 100 bucks and the kids asked him to scan it to make sure, and he stuck to his gus telling them its was either or the price he suggested. he was unfriendly and honestly... ill never be back in your store, and I am always on some type of audio projects either for me, or someone else. so Good bye Car Toys, I also used to get my vehicle detailed once a year. Ill be glad to go find somewhere else to do that now... bye bye

The Groupon ad was very misleading. I thought I bought an interior detailing but instead it was a much lesser service. I already paid Group. So I was stuck paying more than I thought was fair. I left a voice message about my complaint. No one called me back. I fled a complaint with the WA Consumer Protection, Attorney General Office of our state. I will never use you again or Groupon.

Spent $2,000 on a subwoofer, AMP, and stereo. The sub and amp stopped working after a week. Brought it in for a service appointment. It just sat in the parking lot for 2 days and never got fixed the car barely even started from sitting there for 2 days. so i spoke with John and he said to come back in the morning and we will fix it. Now Im here and they are telling me they cant fix it until they call corporate and get approval to get new stuff. I wasted 3 days for nothing. I dont wanna hear were terribly sorry for your experience I want it made up to me. I want a brand new set up or even a BETTER set up, or even a refund. This is TERRIBLE. It seems like keoni and Carl are the only ones that know what they are doing.

Poor, extremely poor customer service! Came here to get my car detailed, waited 10 minutes before anyone came to help me then supposedly he went to get the detail person, waited another 15 minutes before saying screw it and just left.I would seriously NOT recommend this place!!!!!!

Dont go to Puyallup. So many reasons. The manager is a kid with an attitude and no customer service skills. My new stereo required a new control unit for the heating and AC now I only get airflow on one side of the car. The installer did a half a** job. He left weather stripping sticking out installing the microphone and messed up the door cover for the plug. He did come out and fix those. Wound up buying a new car.

Zach was very attentive and his customer service was on point! Very friendly and helped me find the perfect stereo and customizations for my truck. Dylan was also great- energetic and gave personalized recommendations for my taste. Never felt pressured and definitely got a great deal!

The website is terrible! I could not add items into my cart, it took more than 30 minutes and refreshing the screen to have items show in the cart. When it finally did show up Id click on the cart and it would say theres nothing in my cart. Several days later I tried again and it worked. The only reason I stayed with Car Toys was because they said it would be installed in 2 weeks. I tried BestBuy but it would take over a month for installation.When I got to Car Toys I was told I needed to purchase more equipment to make my remote car starter work conveniently, another angering factor. I cannot and will not recommend Car Toys to anyone after this experience.

John was extremely friendly and helpful! I have to give major props to Carl! He was so passionate about doing my jeep which was a surprise for my husband! He made this amazing and unique custom subwoofer box and even worked extra hours to finish it on time! Thats customer service at its finest! Carl needs a raise so he can buy himself a Jeep! I cannot say enough about Carl! He does such quality work!

I wouldnt recommend this place to no one just cost them 5 customers had radio installed price of it plus installation I gave them 340.00 radio 99.00 he reduced it to 69.00 had it installed left my heater wires unhooked, shifter light no longer works ask what they would charge to put in a rear camera all drilling done and camera already on they want another 150.00 to 300.00..... total rip off sorry car toys you just lost a 2 customer and I will spread the word THANKS again for the screwing I gotSo last night my radio mentioned above stopped working, I checked all fuses thinking maybe it blew one no all good, so I call car toys in Puyallup and tell them just to hear it gonna be Friday before I get it in to get it fixed, I paid good money to buy the radio and extra good to get it installed, I dont feel I should have to wait for over a week to have my radio that was bought and paid for.Again I will be reaching out to corporate Monday and let them know this is totally NOT ALRIGHT

I came into the store wanting a better audio system for my car but not totally knowing what I needed to buy. Dylan, Tim, and John all helped me pick out a subwoofer, speakers, radio/stereo, and an amplifier that would get me the sound I was looking for. Even though I came in with an unrealistic budget, Dylan was able to work with me on the price. They installed the new audio system same day and I could not be happier with how it turned out. All the staff were extremely helpful and friendly, they installed everything perfectly, and most importantly, my car sounds AMAZING!!

On 7/24 at 10:30ish. I had my own head unit and wanted to do the install myself, I needed the harness for the wires under the dash. I went to Car Toys and they had the harness and correct bezel for my 1998 Ford F150, they were busy and had new help who was as helpful as he could be for a first day on the job. The manager of the place was nonstop helping costumers and training as he went. As busy as that man was I was not over looked, he and the staff were very helpful with input for my install. They took good care of me and gave me good advice and good deals. Thanks guys the install went great and it sounds awesome. They will take care of you here.

Its a nice enough place with plenty of products. I went in to inquire about a new head unit and told the younger gentleman I wanted to spend around 3-$400. He immediately started to upsell and told me I had stuff in the truck that didnt exist and pushed the price up to over $1000. And justified it by offering 18 months same as cash financing. Thats all fine and dandy but he just pushed a sale right out the door. And maybe youre business model is to upsell every customer to a thousand dollar minimum. But I can guarantee you I wont need to set foot in there again to find out.

The stereo/camera system in our motor home quit and I wanted something good and reliable. We went to Car Toys on Meridian, South Hill, Puyallup and met with Dylan. He hooked us up with a new Kenwood with a 10” screen with expert installation in the same day. We are very pleased with the outcome and it 100% better than what we had. Everything works as promised, highly recommend Car Toys

Zach was so helpful and worked an amazing deal with exaclty everything i wanted. Originally had a family friend install my radio and back up camera, unfortunately nothing worked. I took it to best buy and they offered me a price to fix everhthing, but i was still unsure. I went to car toys and zach pirce matched with even better products and a deal i couldnt refuse. They fixed and installed evergthing the next day! Definitely coming back for future purchases and seeing Zach!
