I was very pleased with my car buying experience at CarMax. I love their streamlined process, it made everything easy and straightforward. I left with their limited warranty (which is almost never offered for used cars), I was able to purchase an aftermarket warranty as well. They gave me a great price for my used car, which made me very happy. Every one of the women I worked with throughout was friendly and personable—from the first phone call to finalizing my paperwork, they were all awesome! Excellent experience start to finish. Was dealing with several dealers as I searched for the right car. All of them came up short in one way or another save Car Max. Car was there when promised. I was given all the time and test drives I needed to make sure it was the perfect fit for me. My agent was thoughtful and thorough and made the experience a breeze. Will definitely use them for future purchases and recommend them to friends and family.

I had a great experience. I brought my vehicle to trade-in and found the staff to be very helpful and efficient. Other than my initial greeting when entering the business, I exclusively worked with Kathy M.- Business Office Associate. Kathy was very friendly and helpful in handling several customers at once and also attempting to get the necessary info from my bank to complete the transaction.The only negative feedback I have is regarding the online confirmation instructions. It said to be sure to have the loan payoff amount (which I had gotten on the way up) as well as loan account info for them to make the payoff. What I actually needed was a 14-day payoff letter with my lenders letterhead, per diem (daily loan interest amount), and my vehicles VIN on the paperwork or listed from the bank. Getting this ended up taking much longer than anything else. If this was updated on the website it would probably save everyone time and frustration.
Big shout out to my sales guy Terry!!! Today he has proven me anything is possible. I was able to get out with a car, even with my bad credit and previous repo. He was so patient with me, and had great customer service and he went the extra mile to make sure I was going to get out with the car. I did have my doubts, but he has proven that they really do care about their customers and I am beyond satisfied for their service !!! I wish I came here long time ago, better late then never. I sold a car here 1 1/2 months ago. They were supposed to take care of transferring the name of ownership from me to them. At least that was what I was told by them. I just received an impound notice about that car in the mail today. So apparently they DID NOT transfer ownership to them. And apparently they sold that car and NOBODY transferred the ownership to the NEW OWNER. 🤔

In early October (2021), my brother and I helped our dad sell his 2016 Toyota Corolla LE Eco. CarMax in Puyallup, Washington was absolutely amazing! Not only did they perfectly match their online price quote (which was consistent with high estimates from other online sites), but they were very efficient, friendly, and courteous. I would highly recommend them to anyone in western Washington who needs to sell a car!
Ive always had great experiences with Carmax and had another one this time. First I bought a white Jeep but after living with it for a few weeks I decided that it wasnt the correct car for me. I then tried to buy a brand new Jeep from a traditional dealership and it was a nightmare of lies and misinformation and they eventually sold the truck out from under me after I put down a payment. I then had Carmax order me one form another state and when it showed up returned the white one and bought the new one. It was a messy process on the whole, but everyone at Carmax made it as easy as possible. Thank you, Ill definitely be back at Carmax to buy our next car.
What an exceptionally fulfilling experience I had during my auto purchase from CarMax. This is my third car purchase and every time I use CarMax for my auto purchase experience it reassured me that Im at the right place. There isnt any phase of my experience that makes me so satisfied. EVERY aspect of my experience, from the smallest detail to the most significant, my smile became bigger and bigger. I thought my experience was going to be complicated because I had just moved into the city and was wanting to trade my vehicle quickly due to my very busy schedule getting settled into my job and new home. I honestly became suspect when everything went soooo smoothly and soooo quickly... Not one glitch, I believe this is largely due to everything being done with such precision. Everyone in the process did their part with keeping me moving in mind. They knew my time was so stretched and my days off were full with getting settled. Everyone handed off their phase to the next one and before I knew it my sales agent told me the final papers were ready to be signed and she walked me over to the individual who handed that final phase. The car was being detailed as I signed all of the papers and when it was done, they even helped me transfer my belongings from my trade into my new car. 5 star review to 1 star! 3rd and last purchase with Carmax. Pre-approved when buying. May possibly return the vehicle due to complete mistreatment of customers by associates and managers. They treated us like royalty right up until the contract was signed and we were out of the door. Makes sense why they get higher reviews than they should, customers are still in aww when writing them.Weve been asked to come back for paperwork issues (will be twice now due to Carmax). The first time was as a faster solution to getting the financing finished. When we arrived, they asked us to pull into the service bay, a man walked around the vehicle and said that we needed to have everything out of the car. When I asked why, were just running back to the local bank and back to get them a check, he said its policy. They were going to Uber us to the bank and back, our vehicle was full of camping gear as we were going out for the weekend, and they didnt mention that when they asked us to come make the 45 minute drive. I asked to speak to the manager, he said he was the sales manager. Weve never felt more criminalized. He said if they void the contract and remake it that we will no longer be the owners and we will have to have all our belongings out of the car while remaking the paperwork. They would Uber us to the bank and back. Funny, when we arrived and were waiting for the manager to speak to us, he blew right passed us and had the service manager greet us after someone from the finance department grabbed them. He was rude and made us feel like we were wasting his time.Second, after we purchased the car, there was hidden damage that left us on the side of the highway for a while. A trim piece on the roof had partially blown off. I called Carmax and received no answer, I emailed my agent and got no response, I was able to snap some of the pieces back and that was enough to get us home (45 minute drive). When the sales person got back to me (days later), he said he forwarded the problem onto the sales manager. Never heard again from the sales agent. But the sales manager we heard back from on the day he tried to have us take all our belongings out of the car.When I brought up the repair work issue that he himself never responded to and that we felt criminalized for what was happening to us for trying to make us pull our belongings out and not communicating with us to do so prior to arriving (especially being pre-approved walking in and buying 3 cars from Carmax) he said he didnt get back to me, nor did anyone else, because he was on vacation. He didnt get back to me after vacation either. since we had the car for over two weeks by that point.FYI they dont show vehicle repair history on their Carfax. When asked, the sales person says sometimes they do and sometimes they dont. We were at a dealer just before Carmax and they provided the vehicle repair history on the Carfax report and it had a huge amount of repairs for being a new car, which led us to not buy and go thru with the appointment with Carmax.It has been over a month since trying to purchase this car. Weve passed our return policy date and put miles on the vehicle (meaning they will probably try to rob us of some of our down payment if they are willing to accept the car after 30 day return policy). Our local bank is just about to make us re-apply for our refinance to get our lower interest rate because of the miscommunication between Carmax and Capital One. My wife is in tears with them on the phone because their asking us to come back, again. Their willing to pay our gas. Yay!!! Not. We asked for compensation for gas from the last visit plus time wasted for making us drive back. They said no. They will only top off our already full tank, but that leaves us paying our own way in fuel back. Ughhhh!We asked for a corporate manager to speak with and they said we can google customer service. Theyre willing to extend the return policy though for another 30 days. Time wasted in total driving, calling, emailing, etc. at least 10-15 hours + fuel.
Extremely professional and Kurt. Had an almost robotic nature to them. It was almost a 3-hour wait to see a sales rep and you had to get an appointment. Tell me thats not interesting.
My wife recommends this place for selling your car. I have to agree. They have it streamlined. No Hassel, no guess work, just a fair amount, and all done in 1 hour. Thats in, and out with a check in hand....one hour. A very positive experience.

Ohmygosh I absolutely loved shopping here!! The whole experience from start to finish was by far the best car shopping experience Ive had. And Ive had A LOT of car shopping experiences lol. It was super easy, stress free, and tbh FUN!! The guy that I worked with was BEYOND patient when I hit a snag with adding my car to my insurance because apparently my insurance company was closed, and I was unable to add a car to my existing policy online...he was super helpful, and any questions I asked that he didnt immediately know the answer to, he would literally stop what he was doing to get up and go find out. Dude. I will NEVER go anywhere else...if there was an option for more than 5 stars, I would give that!!
My experience was truly the best I have ever had, got an approval, my car was shipped to my most convenient location, they called me when it was there, scheduled an appt. Test Drove it, signed some paperwork and I was outta there with my new car:!!! Seriously was the best experience my husband have ever had with buying a car.
The experience was so much easier than I expected. I brought in my quote and had the paperwork drawn up for that same amount in less than a few hours.
So I go with my son to CarMax to sell his truck and we are the very first people to walk through the doors it takes over 2 hours we agreed on the price 20 minutes into it and it took over an hour and 40 minutes for them to do the paperwork we had the title in hand everything was good and it still took them this long ridiculous be prepared to waste half your day when you come here.
Went in with a quote to sell my car. After they appraised it they came back and offered the same price the online tool appraised it for. It took maybe 20 minutes for them to appraise it and another 40 minutes to do the paper work and cut me a check. Great experience, I would definitely do business with them again.
Incredibly thankful for CarMax! they were willing to work with me when almost no one was. They did their absolute best to recreate the new car experience for a pleb like me. They also do their absolute best to make the process as easy as possible. If I had one complaint it would be that even though there is always somebody there to help you dealing with the person who you started with can sometimes be difficult especially when they have operators on the East Coast working the West Coast. Other than that Im happy as a clam!

I had an outstanding experience and was offered well over market values on my car which I sold them on approximately May 1st. I really appreciated them working seamlessly with me and making the process easy. They paid my lien holder within approximately 48-72 hours. It couldn’t have gone better.
Planning a move this summer and had to get rid of one vehicle. CarMax offered the best price. Got the offer online and audio set up the appointment.It took a little longer than we thought it would but the transaction went smoothly. They take care of everything except notifying your insurance agent.About an hour and a half after we arrived we walked out with a check. I was very impressed with how much care they took to sanitize all surface that are contacted by staff and customers. Plus plenty of sanitizer dispensers all around the facility.Would definitely do this again if I wanted to sell an older vehicle.

My brother used them and let me know how easy it was.25 minutes of basic information.Car was sent from another state with no problems. (About 5 days)Soon as car was received, I was contacted and went in the next day, paid my deposit; signed my forms and all done!I’m very happy with my Ford Fusion!
The overall process took 2.5 hours. I had set an appointment time, but that didnt seem to matter to the staff. very lengthy periods with nothing happening and no communications from staff as to whats happening. I had been told on the phone (when I set the appointment) that the process would take up to an hour and I had allotted time from my schedule accordingly.

Had an amazing experience, Car max made it easy for us to decide what we wanted and was very patient with us as we scrambled through the day trying to get our bank to cooperate. The customer service was polite and understanding, as well as informative on the car we wanted to purchased. Only complaint was we were told false information about features on the car and I had corrected them after the test drive, ultimately it ended up lowering the price and we were fine without the extra things. Our salesman seemed really new so we weren’t upset with him.

This is my second experience with Car Max. Id much better go to Car Max over the regular dealers. Transaction is much smoother and less of a hassle than the dealers. Examples are the back and forth between the salesman and the manager and when they take you in the back and are trying to get you to buy things you dont want and the worst pet peeve is when you think you are done you find out the finance people messed up their paperwork and you have to go back and sign some mote documents.Car Max is hands down easier than dealers.
My son was looking to trade in his Rav4 for a new car to make a long story short he found a 20 model better than 21 and it had less than 4,000 miles and still, under warranty, CarMax gave him nearly twice the money than K dealer. Also, K dealer told me his interest rate would be either 11 or 12 % while his interest through CarMax was 2.+ % the way CarMax treatment of my son and me was A+.
Ive received an appraisal twice. First time in my opinion the appraisal was very good but I had to cancel selling my car because I couldnt get my clearance for the airplane. Once the clearance for my trip became confirmed, I received reappraisal and the price was as same as before. The transaction went smooth. Carmax staff were very professional and I enjoyed the interactions.
Feliciana was so kind as to explain the car details and the buying experience with us a few days ago.. She ordered the car to be shipped from another location. She was the reason we came back. Elizabeth was awesome! Buying a car usually is stressful and a half a day process. She said shed do her best to make it as quick and painless as possible and she did. The longest part of the process was adding the car onto the insurance and the credit check. We were in and out in an hour and 15 minutes(including the 20 minute test drive). I will ALWAYS buy a car from here from now on. Also, John in financing did a great job in getting everything together and signed. Thank you CarMax for putting the right people in place!
Offer was way lower than online offer. Car is in excellent condition with very low miles. They were incredibly slow. Had an appointment and still took over two hours. They kept saying 15 minutes.

To be honest, my expectations were quite low. I chose CarMax specifically for simplification with all the rona stuff going on. Instead of just being a convenient way to get a car, I had a truly fantastic experience. Everyone was over the top friendly and I felt like I was treated as their most important customer. The only pressure I felt was on the warranty. I had done a lot of research and had already decided in my case the warranty was excessively unreasonable. I can do any necessary repairs myself at a very large discount beyond most people. Even with that knowledge, they came very close to selling the warranty. For those that dont know, CarMaxs warranty is absolutely worth it for 99% of those buying a car there. I bought one of the cheapest cars available as a penny pinching commuter car. My experience absolutely sold me on returning in the future to buy our next replacement vehicles. I absolutely will get the warranty with them. I cant say enough good things about CarMax. I dont know if its a corporate thing that all stores are this great, or just this store. If you go here and dont have a good experience, I doubt it has anything to do with the store!
We were looking to sale our 2009 Chevy Tahoe Hybrid cause the cost of replacing the hybrid battery was to much! After visiting a few lots we were suggested to go to Car Max, not only did they give us a decent amount for our truck, they found us another vehicle! Unfortunately the new car we had just purchased start to have mechanical issues 😕, it would seem like i should be upset, Im actually just grateful we added coverage for things like this! I honestly would give them a 5 star but not having the car I just bought is an inconvenience even though they provided a loaner vehicle, my new car feeling was short lived😔..
My experience with CarMax was over all great. Our process took a bit longer, which had everything to do with our credit company having a long wait time over the phone. So we ended up spending quite some time at CarMax but both Nolan and Marvin at the Puyallup CarMax were awesome. They even took care of a lunch and dinner for us to apologize for the long waits, even though it wasn’t their fault. I also really enjoyed our experience because these two were so nice, and genuinely just cared that we got what we needed, that we felt good with the decision we were making with our cars. CarMax is a great experience that I highly recommend, I don’t have a lot of experience in buying cars so it was nice not to feel like some cheesy car sales man was trying to hustle me. Instead, they asked questions like...”how do you feel about this car? The price? Is that in your range? Do we need something different?” Genuinely no agenda behind CarMax other than to help you find what you need. It was refreshing. Thanks Nolan and Marvin, you the real MVPs!
Got a offer online and took my car in to have appraise offer was the same as the online offer, closed the deal and walked out with a check and all the paper work done no trouble or surprises. less than a hour. Very happy with my dealings with Carmax. will do business with them again, highly recommend.

They sold me a car that had issues. When confronted with the issues and I brought the car in they kept telling me they couldnt find the problem. They then proceeded to pawn me off on Subaru for them to fix the problem and say theyll pay for it but then dont return any of Subarus calls. They are unhelpful and selling cars WAY above valued price.

Had a FABULOUS expierence here today. Arrived to a clean, extremely well maintained facility. Bustling busy with tons of people shopping and just as many people helping those customers.My husband and I didnt really have too many expectations as we werent 100% sure the car we were looking for. But we were welcomed and was suggested to view their catalog of vehicles at that location on the large touch screen computer, or go outside for a look. We opted to go out and walk the lot.HUGE variety. You name it for average everyday vehicles, they had it. Cars of all sizes, makes and models. Same with SUVs, trucks, vans, and luxury brands. Many different years and price points also.After checking out their inventory, everything was open and ready to view, all vehicles had info listed in the window. Very detailed info at that...We were drawn to a mid/small/crossover sized suv. Let the sales team we were interested. They sent someone out with keys and we were able to hop in and go for a test drive. With providing proof of DL and insurance of course. Car was fantastic. Took it for a ride on the freeway and around Puyallup. Brought it back and told them we wanted it.The application process took about 45 minutes. We worked with three people in total. The salesman who brought out the keys and ran my husbands DL and took insurance info.Then we worked with another gal who took care of our application process.Then we worked with one more person who finished off the financial portion of the process.All the people were fantastic to work with. Quick, efficient and overall nice.I HIGHLY suggest shopping here if youre in the market. I definitely would shop here again in the future for my car purchasing needs.Thanks CarMax!!!! I received absurdly awful service from Carmax after I put a hold on one of their vehicles, sold my current vehicle, and opened insurance the planned to buy. As I was trying to put 15k as a down payment I was informed the hold I placed on their vehicle was removed by unexplainable events AND THEY SOLD IT TO SOMEONE ELSE. They left me with no car and they had no inventory on a similar model. This was an Absolutely horrendous experience on 6/22/21. I was planning to fly out to Georgia to pick up and thankfully hadnt purchased the flight yet. I will never ever use Carmax, ever, and will never recommend to anyone!
I needed to sell my car but didnt want the hassle of advertising it and having strangers come to look it over and test drive it. Besides I have an odd work schedule. I had heard that CarMax would buy your car so I gave it a try. They were polite and professional. They gave me what i thought was a fair offer according to Blue Book values and I left with a Bank Draft that day. No pressure and they even make the offer good for 7 days if you need to think about it. The whole process took about 90 minutes.

Carmax is well carmax. Expect none of the sale personal to know anything about any car on their lot other than basic information. Their 100+ point inspection is completely pointless, take the car to your trusted mechanic as soon as possible as we had to when we first purchased our car. (Bad cv axles and bad battery) other than that I give 3 stars for actually being legit used car dealer and fixing issues that the car had after purchase.

This was such an easy process. Was moving the next day out of the country and of course had to wait until the last minute to sell my car. A fair price, not outstanding but fair. What was the most amazing was the customer service. Each and every person I came in contact with was wonderful and it sure appeared they each loved their jobs. I highly recommend would use them again!!!

Professional, smooth, fast, and reasonable. Of the 3 places we checked - Kelly Blue Book Cash Offer, a small local seller, and CarMax - CarMax was the highest offer by 5%. Their offer was roughly 13% under what similar vehicles were selling for online. However, not having to deal with all the time prepping the vehicle, getting it online, coordinating with potential buyers, and the physical and financial risk of selling it ourselves privately -was worth every penny of that 13%. Were very pleased with our experience at CarMax and will be back to give them more business in the future.

I was given a fair offer for my used vehicle. There were 2 title issues that arose while attempting to sell, and staff helped me work through both of those issues. Janelle especially went out of her way and spent time trying to help. I have already suggested Carmax to my son as they search for a commuter car.
Everyone at this CarMax dealership was incredibly helpful with a somewhat complicated transaction. I tried to work with another dealership. That was a disaster and left me disheartened. I highly recommend Puyallup CarMax. They made the stressful act of buying a car painless.

Needed to sell my car quickly because Im moving back to Hawaii and cant take it with me. I had a small window of time to sell it before I left and Carmax was super easy to deal with. The staff was super friendly, I had my offer and check within a half hour and they got me a Lyft back to where my rental car was parked. 10/10 service no BS, the appraisal I got online was what they offered me no nickel and dime games.

So far so good with our purchase. Love our new car. However, we had a sales representative that possibly could have been new or didnt know what they were doing named Kitsie. Maybe I should have requested another sales representative but didnt want to offend her at the time, everyone deserves a chance right. We were told that we got a 3 month subscription of SiriusXM Radio, well its been 2weeks and our free subscription still doesnt work. Also, never received Mbrace account info so that we can finish setuping up our car through the Mercedes Benz app. I called the business office, spoke with some that said the sales manager will be emailing me the info and I have yet to receive it 2 weeks later.
Shout out to Linda and the whole CarMax Puyallup Team. Their customer service is A-1. My wife and I went in as soon as they opened at 10 o clock. We already had our car picked out and our loan approved so I didnt think that we were going to be there longer an than hour. Due to some delays with our bank we ended up staying there for about five hours. Linda and the manager (I forgot his name my apologies I think it was Mark) was so accommodating. They constantly kept updated and even waited in a long phone queue with our bank to get the issues sorted out. The manager even offered my 9 month pregnant wife a chair to put her feet up and even offered to get us a ride to the store to get her some food. I was floored. We will be needing another car in a few years and will DEFINITELY be going right back to CarMax Puyallup
