I went to Gettel Toyota on a Sunday at noon to look at a used 2021 Ford F-250. Dennis met us at the door of the new car showroom. We explained what we were looking for and Dennis made it happen. I went to Gettel Toyota of Charlotte County to put a deposit down on a new Rav4 Prime. They added a $4995 Dealer Adjustment for Market when it was time to sign. The dealership does not pay more for this vehicle...all that extra money would be simple profit for the dealership. Very sad that a small town dealership would take advantage of their community to make more money. Neighboring Toyota dealerships do not add Market Adjustments. Simply greedy poor business practices. The personnel were professional and friendly.
Have attempted to give their service department two attempts to show me they are quality establishment but that was epic fail both times. Refuse to warranty Toyota installed parts, even when proven on Toyota website of the facts. Avoid at all costs. So I will drive an hour away and never deal with them again. No wonder local companies can’t get business, when they don’t offer quality service.
Our experience at Gettel Toyota was outstanding. I was looking for a new SUV and Desmond at Toyota was beyond helpful. I had several makes I wanted to test drive before making my decision. I ended up back at Gettel Toyota to talk to Desmond again. He is extremely knowledgeable and personable. We even bragged about him to the other places we had gone. What a disaster. Me and my wife went to make our purchase of the car we have had our eye on and the rest just fell apart. We spoke to Ty and he showed us the car, the STICKER PRICE was 22k and he told us we would be eligible for a $2500 bonus discount. We said we would take the car. He brings us the paper work and the STICKER PRICE jumped to $25k. We asked why and he told us “The sticker price was the special discount price” then when we asked what the APR would be, he couldn’t tell us, it took him over 40 minutes to get the rate (8.9%) He told us that no ever gets the sticker price so we should be lucky to only pay $500 over sticker price before fees. All of this was also before $6500 in dealers fees added. No way we were gonna pay almost $32k for it. A bait and switch at its finest. We walked out and found the same car with better mileage, better interior for $19k with 3% APR. AVOID AT ALL COST. These people will rip you off and then continuously email/call you until you block the number. BBB has already been notified. Be prepared to hear all the greatest hits from them too, “We are losing money on this transaction” “No one ever got such a good deal on this type of car from us before” The only thing our Sales rep was missing was a 70’s style bushy mustache and a tweed jacket
I had been shopping around for a truck for quite a while, when I finally made it over to Gettel Toyota, Zachary was the salesman helping me that day and long story short, he found me just the truck I was looking for and worked with me on the numbers to get me the price point I was looking for, went above and beyond to make sure I was happy with the purchase with follow up calls and offered extra assistance and service if I needed. Great experience over all.

Literally my angels today! Hundreds of miles from home, a bunch of my dashboard lights turn on. Since I was in the middle of nowhere and it was a holiday weekend, I was a bit upset. I googled Toyota and found I wasnt too far from this dealership.Pulling in, Michael came to help and got us sorted out. After a thorough assessment and some decisions, we were able to get things taken care of and get back on the road. I am considering if a 6 hr trip for an oil change is a bit excessive to deal with a dealership I can trust.

Actually had service at this location but the prices on the cars 2021 were way too high after what I after I talked about what my budget restraints were they proceeded to show me another car which was even more expensive than the one I was looking at. they didnt really seem interested in negotiating prices. Its called a dealership because theyre supposed to deal its not a car store. When I finally went to a dealership and had the opportunity to negotiate price and options for warranties and so forth I purchased a new car.

When I went in I just wanted to test drive and they were more than happy to let me. When I was done we talked about the financing I got. They offered better. I said ok make it happen for the car I wanted and they did. They were very nice, professional and I walked out with the car I wanted. Both Matt and Harold really made this a great experience.

The extra star is taken away from the dealership because this is now the SECOND time I’ve come in with a mailed offer to test drive or get a vehicle appraised, spent all the time doing so, almost bought a new vehicle yesterday ( timing is just a little off) and when I went to claim their offered incentive (an Amazon gift card), they have been miraculously out of them. Seems like a scam. I’m remembering why I bought my last Toyota elsewhere. It’s these little things that add up.

I believe service quality is excellent in this location - I have used them for years. They do what they say they will do for the price they say they will. However, I believe they offer / oversell services for used cars that may not be needed for every driver. I don’t think this is dishonest. Just be informed about what your car needs. In addition, EVERY TIME I go there for service the wait time is 2-3 hrs longer than promised.
Super helpful,efficient, I was running late to pick my car back up and they called me to make arrangements for me. I have been doing my maintenance there for years. Ryan has been helping me the last couple times and has great customer service presence.
I bought four new tires there, by the time I got home my hub cap was missing and I noticed the wheel frame was bent. Instead of fixing the wheel they covered it up.Stop calling me Gettel I will never sell my car to youand I will never go there again!Shame on you!

The service is good the people too. But if you get involved in a car accident where your car is total loss and is someone else fault. Don’t try to go back and get another car in there. Is no way, you can see how they close the doors and everything is NO.I personally recommend the Gettel Toyota from Lakewood Ranch at University; they give me more options, better trade, positive vibes and I never heard a NO for answering. They really work with you and your credit no matter how bad it is.
I know when businesses get busy it can be frustrating for the customers. I get it. I called the service department 6 times over 3 days to simply schedule my Highlander for a safety recall. Difficulties lie with no service persons willing to pick-up the phone. I can get through to the service department, but when transferred to a service coordinator (or whatever theyre called), I get a prompt to leave a phone message recording. Disappointing. Hope your customer service experience is different than mine. Heading to Ft Myers Toyota.
I feel lied to.Theres no history on your vehicle, so were going to have to check everything.I bought it from a dealer in St Pete a year ago. It has maintenance history. I was also told that things that work fine are failing, and the things I asked to check work fine. Im not sure how my sprayers work fine without a fuse or how the tech determined that without one. I told them it was missing when I dropped it off. It was never checked. Probably too busy selling me cabin filters for $100. I went in for an oil change and 70k check, and $188 later, Im confident my oil was changed. Thats it.Never again.
Your business is only good to them when they are taking your money for a sale or getting your car serviced there. What I once thought was a pleasant experience at their dealership, has been overshadowed by the despicable customer service of their finance department. Beware if you get an extended warranty, if you need to cancel it, good luck! They dont return your calls or emails, and they dont submit the paperwork they ask you to provide them. They lie to you and say they sent it in and then the warranty company says they have no record of it. This has been going on for a month! I certainly wont be returning to them for any future sales or recommending them to anyone now that I know how they operate on the other end.
An unreal experience occurred with this facility Friday Aug 13th that I felt compelled to share as my sister has also experienced recent issues here as well. I took my vehicle in for a RECALL on airbags for my Chevy truck, upon arrival I was directed to a so called service advisor whos name was Cristian. He pulled up my appointment and reviewed the trucks history arguing with me that I have never been there before. Well I have been a resident and a purchaser from Palm Chevy and Gettel since the 80s and a resident of Charlotte county. I advised him of my issues and services with my truck there and Cristian proceeded to condescendingly argued with me about never being there. I proceeded to tell him of the trips involving the same vehicle for ac, windows and a bad new tire (the list goes on) again, he proceeded to say I have never been there. I requested his manager due to his UNPROFESSIONALISM and argumentative tendencies. I then spoke with a James H. Service Manager who seemed to have protected this Cristian rather than listen to my concerns. After several minutes miraculously James found a few records (imaging that). My vehicle was than taken in for the recall. Approximately 2 and 1/2 hrs later Cristian proceeded to meet me to walk me to my truck, I advised him I could walk to it by myself that I was competent to proceed alone. Again condescending he insisted at which point I was advised THEY WALK all clients to their vehicles, so I again asked for his supervisor (Jim) and he insisted he wanted to know why. I said that I did not need his assistance and by this time he has been completely unprofessional and rude. Ironically Jim was unavailable. It has been a long time since I have encounter such unprofessionalism and rude attitudes from a worker and manager to say the least. In todays life situations we do not need such immature attitudes from people that are supposed to be there to help address your concerns and issues at hand and not think outside the box to search further in records to see my history when I have even had custom built vehicles. NOT A GOOD WAY TO BE REFERRED TO OTHERS OR DO BUSINESS WITH PERIOD. Such a disheartening and frustrating experience. As a Charlotte County Resident of over some 40 years I am very disgusted with this is our representation of the community.I even requested when I returned home and called a General Managers email or phone number and the women that answered the phone had no clue who that person was and could not provide any information. So unbelievable.

They were liars, Told me they would give close to the price I gave for my Toyota TRD Off Road in mint condition...They were calling every day telling me how much they wanted my truck. Wich was 40.000New.when I got down there I picked a car then they only wanted to give me 21.000 after they had already gave me an offer for 30.000..So be aware very shady people!!

Was in for a complete detailing. The exterior and windows were great, but the interior could have been better. The glove compartment and door pockets inside were not wiped down and the trunk was not touched (vacuumed).
Avoid this place!!!! I never write reviews, but the horrible tactics used by this dealership need to be known. Went in to see a new car I was interested in. I had a trade-in. The sticker was loaded with add-ons to the tune of $1,700.00 that I did not want. Literally fluff add-ons. The sales guy said thats the way all our cars come. Sorry I dont want pin strips on my car!!! That has been out for about 20 years along with all the other nonsense. Also, this was the only dealership that would not tell me what the trade in was on my car and kept changing the price of what it would cost to put leather on the car that I wanted. The sales guy was not even knowlegable with the car options available. This was a waste of time with them trying to push a car that I didnt want, not showing the options I was asking for and not tell telling me what the option would cost. I bought the next trim level up at another dealership for less money then they wanted on this base with a process that was smooth and enjoyable. Only giving one star because it was clean in the lobby.

I just recently purchase a 2017 Toyota Corolla LE, Desmond was my salesman & he was absolutely amazing! He was extremely helpful & did not try to pressure me into a deal like most do. We made the deal same day within a few hrs. I told him some minor fixes I wanted on the car & he made sure to correct everything & had it ready for pick up the next day! It was nice to make new friends in a new town and start a relationship based on trust that will last a long time. Well be taking our Toyotas to Gettel Toyota for all our service needs.
Wife and I recently visited and came inside. The three women at the front desk couldnt be bothered with us as they were consumed in conversation. After patiently waiting, we got a look as if we were clearly bothering them. I asked if we could look at a car, and we were told they were outside. I then asked if we could look inside the vehicles to which one of them responded with Youll need a sales associate for that, but didnt offer to go find one. After going outside and waiting several minutes we decided to leave. An associate did catch up with us as we were leaving. I asked about a specific feature, and the associate was clearly unknowledgeable about the vehicles and responded by telling us that the specific feature wasnt that big of a deal whether the vehicle had it or not. (As in they didnt know anything about the vehicle, but somehow knew exactly what was important to us.) At any rate, we wont be visiting this dealership ever again. With how prolific Gettel is in Punta Gorda, I can only hope their other dealerships are better managed.
I waited an hour and a half, after I had made an appointment for my service. The Service Manager make good and didnt charge me for their service. However, the next day I went to leave and my car wouldnt start. My battery was dead. The thing that concerns me is that the person that worked on my car, checked the box that the battery was fine. I was not very happy with this. I had to out $147 for a new battery and I didnt go to Toyota to get it. I am disappointed with them...will it keep me from going back there, no. I hope to have better results next time though.

I spent 8 hours shopping for a car on Saturday. I went to 5 different dealers through Fort Myers and Cape Coral. It wasn’t until I went to Gettel Toyota and I met Michael Seaver in sales that I was able to pull the trigger on our dream car. The numbers were great, but what really did it for us was the service from Michael. We contacted Gettel for a standard maintenance update and they were kind enough to both pick up and drop off our vehicle. Keith was very communicative with us regarding any additional needs and pricing. They did the job quickly and we are very pleased with how we were treated throughout the process. They did a video tour of our vehicle and sent it to us so we could see what they were checking and the condition of anything that needed to be replaced. We will certainly use their services again.
We purchased our new car from Gettel in Punta Gorda. My husband explained to Jon, our salesman, that we wanted a Prius v to replace our past vehicle but Toyota doesn’t make that model anymore. Jon showed us exactly what we were looking for to replace the Prius v- the Toyota Venza. With the shortage of vehicles being an issue right now (June 2021), it was a challenge to get the car with the colors and features wanted. Jon was able to work with his team to get us the Venza we wanted within 2 weeks. We have found Gettel Toyota in Punta Gorda to get fair and honest in our interactions with them in both purchasing a car and in the service department.
Made appointment because the Punta Gorda was closer to my home then Venice. I was not aware that the prices would be different from one Toyota Dealership to the other but it was significantly priced much higher at this location then the Venice location. On top of that I am an independant woman that have struggled with machanics my whole life taking advantage of me bc i am a woman, and the services they told me were needed compared to the services that Venice suggested was almost a 200 dollar difference. Ladies go the extra miles to Venice, they are not out to break the bank!!!
I went down to Gettel Toyota just to test drive a tundra I knew I wasn’t ready to purchase upon getting there Jon was our sales associate and I told him my plan of trying to get out of my jeep and enjoy tundra so they do what they normally do and asked to run your credit and all that good stuff see what they can do for you when he came back and said they couldn’t get me in a tundra which I had already known I wasn’t ready but he could get me into a Camry and they have a loyalty program so if I pay well on that like I did my jeep in a year so I can get into the tundra that I’ve been wanting for so long so I agreed and they got me into a 2020 Toyota Camry that was more expensive than my 2016 jeep the payments were the same but the APR was way lower... this Camry is got more pros than cons when compared to my jeep so I am very happy that I traded in my patriot for this!! They gave me a really great deal and I am forever grateful! Highly recommended!

They each extended themselves to make sure I was satisfied with each step of the car buying process. Because I was looking for a very specific model, trim package and color, they worked tirelessly to find exactly what I was searching for. Other dealers simply said they couldn’t get what I wanted and tried to sell me whatever they had in their inventory. Needless to say, I am a Gettel-Punta Gorda customer from now on!
Even though I confused the Toyota Service Department with the Hyundai Service Department, ( where I needed to go) they still serviced my car ( it just needed air in my tires) with a smile immediately.

Went in to have my CD disc player looked at and ended up walking out with 4 brand new tires and a wheel alignment for a pretty good price. Since this was not a planned purchase, I was given a ride to my house and back to avoid a 3 hour wait. Level of customer service was great!
The service department generally does a pretty darn good job, I never have to wait too terribly long and if it is going to be a longer service they are more than happy to get you a ride home and have you picked up when your vehicle is ready. Max is the man to ask for but all of the service reps will get you taken care of and on your way with as little fuss as possible.
