We had such a fun time at the Wick Lab! Their staff are very friendly and helpful (they’ll even help you narrow down which scents you want to combine and give some expert opinions on what blends well together). They have SO many scents for you to choose from and you can do the whole process at your own pace and as independent or assisted as you prefer. I will definitely be back in the future and it is such a fun space for a girls night, date, etc!

Its a fun concept and they have a great selection of scents. Making the candle is very easy, it takes much less than an hour. Overall, I would say it isnt really worth the price because nothing about the candle is special other than the scents. I wish there was more to do other than just pick and mix the scents. Go if you want a quick and fun date night with a souvenir.

My wife and I had a great time at The Wick Lab. It is something we have been wanting to do for a while. You first pick out a bunch of different scents that you like, then after smelling combinations of your chosen scents, you mix and pour your own candle. It is a great date and fun place for those who love a great smelling home!

This was a good activity to do with my daughter. A little more expensive than I expected.

I would give 10 stars if I could! It was such a fun experience with so many scents that anyone can find something they like. The customer service also can’t be beat! My kid shattered my candle almost the minute I brought it home, and the owner didn’t hesitate to make it right. I would recommend TWL to anyone for a date night, girls night, or just to treat yo self!

Its a fun concept and while youre there its enjoyable. The employees are nice and are helpful when trying to come up with a good combination of smells for your candle. I would say the most disappointing part is the candle itself. I think most of these reviews are from people who rate it immediately after making their candle. When youre there its a 5 star experience, but the candle itself is what knocks off two stars for me. Its quite pricey for a candle that has a lackluster smell. Now, I dont know how you trouble shoot a candle because we waited over a week and half for it to set and the wooden wick (which by the way they recommended since its a $2 add on saying it makes a crackling sound but it cant even stay lit long enough to hear it or when it is lit for over an hour you hear absolutely nothing and that was me sitting next to it. They said it would prevent tunneling but it still tunnels). Your safest bet is going with the normal wick. We used the max amount of scented oil while there, but it has absolutely no smell when lit. Now, part of the reason could be that its not lit long enough to have a scent, but even when it was lit for over an hour in a small room there was still no smell. The strongest smell when lit is probably the $2 wooden wick add on. I wish we could have put more oil or something while there. Its really deceiving because when you sniff the candle directly (when its not lit) you can smell it, but it definitely is not as good of a candle compared to the ones you can buy at the store. Weve bought plenty of candles from the store that can spread throughout the entire room in a couple of minutes. The experience is fun but the product is too expensive for something that doesnt work.

Absolutely amazing. The people there are so kind and they explain everything about the process very well. And the candles smell so good to!! It is a great place for a date. I personally went here for my Bachelorette party and it was a great activity.

Came here as a surprise birthday outing for my 20 year old. She loved it! We all loved it! What a great concept and such a fun experience to create your own, personally scented candle. Would definitely recommend and we will go back for more!

I hosted my birthday party there and it was a DREAM! When you first walk in, the owners are so involved and excited! The wall has over 100 different scents that you can mix and match! In one candle, you can choose up to 3 scents. If you are going with a small group or on a date, you can just walk up to the bar. I had a group of 10 and we reserved the back room (+small room fee). Make sure to come in and sign a waiver and you are ready to create!They also have a small boutique in the back selling fun gifts such as earrings, bathbombs, books, and much more! Great place to find a gift for your wife, girlfriend, significant other, or anyone eclectic in your life!PLUS WHO DOESN’T LOVE A NEON-MOSS INSTAGRAMMABLE WALL!!!!

THIS PLACE IS LIT!! But seriously, I had such an amazing time at the wick lab. IT’S THE BEST DATE PLACE IN PROVO!! Think of it, if you wanna take a gal out, and you want her to think of you after the date...theirs no better way to keep you on her mind then by gifting her a candle at the end of your date. Every time she lights that candle, she’s going to think of you! Not to mention the store was just so awesome, so many great candles that are just fun to sit and smell with your date! Such a fun place!! Planned a team work event here with a group of ~30 for an art/candle making night and everyone had a complete blast. Bailey and Bari were literally the BEST hosts and were extremely accommodating to our groups requests. Great for smaller groups and to find cool gifts for friends as well - Ill definitely be back. Wow…this was such a fun time! The employees are soo kind and helpful! Caroline was so sweet and the other brown haired girl (I feel bad that I can’t remember her name but she was the 20 year old who got married recently 😂 we talked a lot)! There are so many scents to chose from and it is so much fun to smell the scents that smell soo good but also the interesting scents like library, bacon, or baby powder😂 they are all super accurate! Super good date idea and such a good time!

The overall concept of the business is great. My friends and family had a great time making them. The experience and employees were great.The part that is disappointing is the product itself. The candles don’t smell like anything when you use them. We all used the max amount of various oil essences allowed and the verdict is the same, the candles do not have good throw and have no identifiable scent. We have used our candles for various time lengths spanning from 10 minutes to several hours. During those times, none of us have smelt anything remotely like we had during the candle making process. Unfortunately, our 6 candles have essentially become bookends.

I took my two boys (ages 6 and 10) here the other day and we absolutely loved the experience. The employee working at the time made the candle making process fun and informative for the kids.This is definitely a great spot for dates, or in my case an outing with young ones. I highly recommend. Overall time was about an hour and I feel like the cost (about $70 for the three of us) was appropriate for what we received.I will be back.

Great fun! Im not sure why they only had two chandlers when up to ten people can need attention at any given time. It seems like theyd need more. Still, when we had the attention of the chandlers, they were great.

It was one of the best single dates I have been on. The aromas are so refreshing, the place is so clean, and customer service incredible. A bit pricey, but well worth the experience. 10/10, would do again.

Was a fun time. But was very disappointed with the actual candles. When 4 of us go and I pay 25 bucks a candle. The least I would expect would be for the candle to burn. 4 of us paid extra for the wood wick and all 4 don’t stay lit. Very disappointed

This place is so fun and such a nice date night or friend night idea. New experiences are so great! I have to say though that I was really not impressed with the employees. I know it might have been the end of the night, but they did not answer our questions and rushed us out of there. They honestly were kind of rude. I know a lot of people who did not have this experience but it just made it way less enjoyable.

I 100% recommend The Wick Lab! It is a really fun place. They have hundreds of scents to choose from and you are able to get creative with your candles. Its also a great price and has great employees.

They were very accommodating, I accidentally scheduled a week off but when we showed up and figured out what was wrong they were willing to squeeze us in. The scent wall was great, quite a few really nice smells you couldnt get in a candle without really going out of your way. Only minor complaint is that the whole process does feel a bit rushed but Im always in a hurry anyway so it didnt bother me.

Such a fun experience! The girls working there were all great and helpful. My candle turned out smelling so nice! The girl helping us gave great suggestions for scents that would go well together. It is a little pricey- $21 with tax for a small candle and it doesn’t come with a lid. I had to pay $1.50 extra for the lid. I think for the price, they could at least include one! They also didn’t mention the lid isn’t included or asked if we wanted to buy one when we checked out. Otherwise, I liked everything else about the experience and would recommend this place to everyone!

I have to give this place a 4 instead of a 3 because one of the girls offered me a discount for making an unscented candle and I hope that my experience is not the norm. I made a reservation online because it said the process is an hour long, so I was expecting more creative steps in the process, but you just put a wick in a jar and pour the wax in. It is a bit simple for me- I was in and out in 5 minutes. Granted, I did not take any time to choose a scent to add, but I can’t imagine that part would take even close to an hour... I chose to make an unscented candle because I’m not a fan of artificial candle fragrance oil, and when I asked if I could do that, the response I got was, “you just want to pour hot wax into a jar?”. No hard feelings, but that made me feel really unwelcome. But the jars are pretty and I don’t think $20 is unreasonable for a custom scented candle.

For a lady date we drove to Provo just for the Wick Lab (from Salt Lake). This activity is incredibly unique and fun for all ages! The owner (Bailey) does an incredible job of making you feel welcome and prepared to build a candle. The process was so fun! With the candle needing two hours to cool we grabbed lunch on University Ave (lots of choices) and picked the candles up before heading back north. 12/10 would recommend! ❣️

We visit her on Tuesday night. It is very clean and the two workers were professional and were doing a good job of cleaning items behind the bar but on the other side of the bar the candles were being handled and smelled and never once that night were they wiped off or cleaned. There was TOO many people in the store and certainly no social distancing was practiced. There are many choices and the candles smell very different than the oils at the bar that you select from. The selection part is 90 % of the expereince and making the candle is less than 10%. Put in a wick, mix oil and wax and that it. Pretty simple, nothing fancy involved. We wish that had been color. What we didnt know is the candle would not be ready to take home with us until later the next day. We were in Provo on holiday., This was not part of the plan and I can see why there is a whole section of candles were not picked up. Also it is a small candle and way way too expensive for the experience. These candles sell at the dollar store and with tax and tip, they cost us $25.00 a piece . It was not worth a hundred dollar 40 minute experience. My girls are 12, 15 and 16, they all rated it a mere 2 expereince.

Perfect for gifts, and they also have one million other gift ideas at the back of the store.Cant say enough good things about this (incredibly well decorated) shop. Super reasonable prices, super helpful employees, super unique experience.

I LOVED having date night at The Wick Lab! There were so many awesome scents to choose from, picking my personal combination was such a hard choice. But I ended up with an awesome combo that smells even better now that my candle is all cured! Bailey and Kiki were so nice and friendly and I absolutely love the whole aesthetic of the shop. The candles are way less expensive than some of my other favorite brands, and I get to choose exactly what they smell like! We will definitely be back!

I feel like they understand how people work and how to make you feel comfortable The atmosphere, brand, and experience all match really well together. They even have a small shop with some unique items that would be fun to try out. You get to choose the exact candle that you want to make and each candle is about 19.00, and if you make more than one there are discounts.

Overall a super fun date night activity! We had a fun time picking out our own scents to make our unique candle. The ambiance was so inviting and gave off a fun vibe. The staff and owner were so helpful and kind. The place can get busy so go earlier than later! It’s a perfect place to go on a group date as well.

This place is AMAZING. Came on a saturday for a girls night, and had the BEST time. They have a wall of 100+ scents and a lot of them are really unique. The hardest part was deciding which ones to use. The staff was super helpful and friendly, and they took the best pictures for our group! Definitely excited to go back for a date night or something.

I LOVE this place! Not only do covet the design of the shop and all the amazing details of the space, but the merchandise is so fun and unique! Definitely lots of gift inspiration (even purchased a few gifts for myself—oops).The candle making is only a piece of the whole experience. Exploring the scent wall is pretty engrossing. There are so many to choose from and imagining them combined is my favorite part. It’s an activity that would be fun to do alone, in pairs, or in groups. This would be a very fun activity for a bridal shower or work party. I absolutely recommend!

We went here as a date and it was super fun! The manager was there helping us out and explaining the whole process. It was great! She helped us find scent combos that wouldnt be terrible, as well as telling us about the other stuff in the store.

My husband and I had the most wonderful experience creating our custom candle at the Wick Lab! The owners were extremely friendly and knowledgeable about scent combinations. With 100 fragrances to choose from (along with the expertise of the owners) you are sure to leave with a perfectly paired, customized scent. We love our peony and olive leaves candle, and will definitely stop in again!

This place is honestly such a gem. Personally I didn’t think too much of candles before, but going with my wife and seeing how much she loved it was priceless. On top of that, the owners are the nicest people and you can tell it is important to them that people get the best experience. Plus, the customized candle making is awesome and was fun.

This place is sucha cute place! There are more scents than you can count or even get to in 1 visit but such a grear time with my neices, husband and mother in law! 🥰

I was initially hesitant because making candles doesnt sound that exciting but with so many scents and what feels like an infinite amount of possibilities, i was pretty excited for my candle at the end. I was nervous about picking bad smells and making a bad candle but all you have to do is smell and write down the smells you like and the employees there help you make the perfect combination! Overall a really fun experience!!!
