Sydney cut my hair on Monday, October 25th, 2021. She was prompt and on time. We took some time to discuss what I would like to do with my hair. I showed her some pictures, and between the pictures and our discussion I felt like she knew what I wanted to have done. I quite enjoy my new bob cut! Sydney did a great job! Thank you Sydney!

If you have been ever been frustrated about your curly hair look no further! Allyson and all of her stylists are the only people I trust with my curly hair. Theyve been cutting my hair for the last year and a half. They are very knowledgeable and listen to what I want. They always sit down and talk to me before doing anything to my hair to make sure theyre really in sync with what I want. In addition, if a day or so later I realize I want something adjusted I can always come in and they will adjust it. Not only do I LOVE the way they cut my hair, but Brin also gave me the pink hair of MY DREAMS. She is an awesome colorist and helped me to feel confident in rocking a more bold style. Honestly I couldnt say enough about this salon and I recommend it to anyone I talk to, especially if they have curly hair. Theyre reasonably priced, really care about their clients, and give the BEST head massages. Seriously, just book an appointment, you wont regret it. :)

Look man, I know that the barber shop is the hip place to be and that a tru fade is hard to find anywhere else BUT, guys when was the last time you had your nose and ears waxed? I can hear your girl now saying it’s definitely been too long. And another thing, when was the last time you had your hair washed and, more importantly, had a scalp massage? Bruh, you are missing out! And on top of all that Sydney got my hair did right! She took care of all the details that a barber ain’t gonna do, like the nose and ear wax, and Sydney was a complete professional about it. Plus she trimmed up the beard! I walked out of there, put on my thick black frames, I was feeling fresh and looking fly… go ahead look, I ain’t wrong…

Cute and comfortable 2 person salon space in Riverwoods. I got snacks! Syd spent 3 hours on me: detailed discuss what I wanted, superb color job (rose pink!!! Current color now lavender white) and hair feels like silk! maybe $90? -price is market rate- but she got a big to from me because my visit was more than a hair treatment, it was THERAPY!!

I was able to get a hair trim, hair conditioned, and highlights from Sydney that works there! She was amazing and a pleasure to be around. I was unsure of what I wanted, and she was able to provide me with ideas and in the end I was so satisfied with how my hair looked. Allyson is the best hair stylist I’ve ever had, and I’ve had as many as 15 throughout the years. The thing I like most about the service she offers is that she actually listens to what you ask for in regards to your hair. She listens, and then suggests ways to improve upon your request. I get many compliments on my hair since seeing her and her hair product recommendations have been the best! I can be particular, but I finally have the hair I’ve been going for all this time. I don’t leave reviews, ever, but she more than deserves it.Update: One Year Later...Its been some time since my initial review of Allyson Marie Hair, but although Ive dramatically changed my hair style in that time, Allysons still my go-to stylist and overall resource for hair care, style planning, and product recommendations. The best hair cut & experience I’ve ever had. Hands down! Brin took time to discuss with me my “hair history”- what I struggle with, what I wish was different, how often I wash, what kind of shampoo I use, how often I style my hair, everything! She made certain she knew exactly what I wanted the cut to be before she started anything. She also was very good to educate me on simple things like how to blow dry my hair, how to spray hair spray (who knew there was a right way??) & what products would be best for my hair. McCall did an AMAZING job with my hair! She asked all the right questions and did a stunning job. After having the worst haircut ever several years ago I wouldnt let anyone touch my hair except one stylist in my town. Really have to say this is the best salon I’ve been to. Brin was my stylist and not only was she professional in her work, but she was so friendly. She really made me feel comfortable while I was there & above all, super confident walking out. Because of the smaller size of the salon, it makes the experience more personal so you can’t help but feel like you’re getting the best service possible because there aren’t any distractions or other clients. I love Allyson, she is amazing! I visit her every few months to get my hair colored and, for a while, we were changing-up my color at almost every visit. She helped me go through the gradual process of bleaching my hair, and when I wanted an unusual color, she was so forward-thinking and made sure to test different formulas on my hair before starting. That process took some extra time, but that was the day I knew that Allyson was the best in the business! If I had gone anywhere else, they would have mixed a bowl of color and started. With Allyson, she made sure my hair pulled the color I wanted, even though it meant some time for trial-and-error. I love that she’s patient, and she’s always willing to teach me about the techniques she’s using and how they apply uniquely to me and my hair. My mom and I have seen Allyson a few times (at least a year). We love how much Allyson listens to what we like and dont like about our hair. She goes from there to develop personalized short- and long-term goals. For example, Allyson helped me get lots of body into my lifeless fine hair (even coaching me through how to style my hair so I got TONS of compliments! no more getting a style from a salon and never being able to repeat the look again) as a short-term goal, and she cut my hair in a way to help it grow out beautifully to meet my long-term goal. After she worked so hard to help me grow out my hair to shoulder-length, I decided I wanted a pixie cut. I am self-conscious around some of my features that cant be hidden as well with a pixie cut (round face and stick-out ears), but Allyson cut my hair in a way that makes me feel elegant and beautiful!!! 2021 is gonna be fierce, especially with the rocking blue and purple Brin added to my moms hair. In summary, Allyson is the most thoughtful, talented hairstylist I have ever had the privilege of meeting. Your hair game is gonna change if you pop by her salon.

Allyson does a great job with my hair every time!! She spends time listening to what I want and then gives her suggestions I love that she texts me after to make sure I love my hair. If I have any issues she fixes it right away no charge! I definitely recommend this salon.

Sydney is AMAZING ! I got highlights and they are so beautifully done. Sydney is so great at what she does and she is so positive, outgoing, and is great at making you feel welcomed, loved, and beautiful ! I will absolutely be coming back again :)

Brin did an excellent job in cutting and styling my hair. She took the time right at the start to speak with me and really find out what I wanted. She was great at listening and understanding. She worked with efficiency, confidence, and skill. I was really impressed at how quickly she had my hair take shape. She was able to make little tweaks as she took into account any small adjustments I asked for. It turned out just the way I wanted it! Im be returning to Brin in the future and would recommend her highly!

Allyson Marie Hair is a salon you most definitely want to go to if you want stylists that listen, give great advice or direction, without demanding, intimidating, or disregarding what your wants, concerns or needs might be. They work with you in a very personal, warm and affirming way. They are always eager to answer questions, explain and never make you feel foolish or feel bad, because you change your mind, dont know what you want or have the them have to explain things a million times! They are super patient, never make you feel rushed. They offer their expertise and suggestions, but will listen and do what you want. I have been going to Allyson for over three years now, and my experience has always been exceptional! You just cant go wrong with the quality of service they provide, and if you needto have them fix something, change something, cut more, etc... they will do everything in their power to make sure you are satisfied and happy! And there is always the bonus !of great deep conversation, immense laughter, and just the joy and fun of interacting with truly wonderful people who make you feel beautiful on the inside as well as the outside!
