These guys are awesome. We are remodeling their building. Fortunately for me, I had an emergency brake situation, and it gave me a chance to try them out. They were able to get me in right away, it was done rather quickly, and the best thing...the charges were reasonable. These guys are honest, knowledgeable, and hard working. Way impressed. I have been going to this business for years. I would never go anywhere else for my automotive needs. They treat you like family. They are extremely knowledgeable and have more automotive experience than any other place I have been. They can diagnose and repair any problem quickly. They are always 100% honest about what your vehicle needs.

These guys are fantastic! They have done some pretty serious work for me before, replacing spark plugs and other internal parts. And on more than one occasion, I have brought my car to them worried that there was a major issue, and when it turned out to be something simple, they didnt even charge me a cent. They offer helpful, practical advice for maintaining my car in between check-ups, and they dont talk down to me when explaining whats going on with my car. I feel that I can trust them to give me real information about my car, to charge me appropriately, and to give me an accurate estimate (a little high, so that the actual bill feels like good news!).

It doesnt look like much while under construction, but I had a positive experience. The mechanics were nice greeting me, did the job promptly, and checked I was well before sending me off. Perfect experience for a emissions test. Quick and easy.

These guys were so professional, helpful and easy to work with. We had been going to another mechanic and when they couldn’t help us we turned here. They were able to quickly diagnose the problem and repair it the same day. I will be coming here from now on. These guys were wonderful.

Left my car to have the AC checked out. They called and said they could not service it because the AC had sealant in it which would ruin their equipment, which is fine. They charged me $26 for their work, which is also fine. I asked them to leave the key on the tire and I would be in later to pick up the car. I got off work late and arranged a ride to get my car and the keys were not there. No way to contact anyone, so I was stranded and unable to get back to SLC. Went in the next morning and he said he did not leave the key because I had not made the payment via the online payment process by the time he was leaving work. I was still working at the time. Completely left me hanging overnight with no vehicle. Totally unacceptable.

Went in to get my break pads replaced! Super helpful and did just what I wanted. Only problem was it took less than 45 minutes for the whole thing to be done with and I was charged two hours of labor (about 200$) so I’m pretty annoyed by that. Maybe that’s how it is supposed to work? Very nice just thought labor costs were completely unfair.

The were very knowledgeable and efficient in fixing our vehicle! The fixed our exhaust problem, also did a diagnostic on the check engine light and found out we needed a tune-up. Found out that the car had the wrong spark plugs in it, promptly put in the correct plugs, and now the car runs great!! The price charged for the work done was fair! I would totally recommend this shop to anyone needing work done on their vehicle! EJ and the fellas do EXCELLENT work!! And are very friendly!!

I brought my car in to have them redo the brakes. A few minutes later, they called to let me know that the brakes were fine and wouldn’t require any work. This place is the worst! They may have good rates, but their customer service is terrible and they make you feel like youre an inconvenience if you bring your car in. My husband and I have been in many times because of their rates and location, but its not worth it to be treated so horribly and well never be going back. I completely agree with Bryan McKinnon and have had very similar experiences. I would never recommend going here.

We have been taking our cars to Master Muffler in Provo for years. We have never had our cars run as smoothly or car repairs be done as efficiently as with Ed and all the people at Master Muffler in Provo. They are always honest, and I can’t imagine going anywhere else. They have earned our trust!

The store manager, Ed, does not not take service bulletins or anything else automotive casually. If he offers you advice, my advice is to take it. If you want a reason, he will have one for you… a good one. Taking his advice seriously has served me well for the past 10 years.

These guys are super friendly and honest. I came here to get a second opinion because I was a little suspicious when I was told that I needed all new brake pads by another mechanic. I was given a free inspection here that revealed that I really only needed new brake pads on one axle. I was quoted for a very reasonable price, and while they were working on my brake pads, they discovered that another element of my brake hardware was broken. They replaced it free of charge because we had already agreed on a price. Customer service was outstanding and extremely transparent. It was only my first time there, but they made me feel like an old friend that has been going there for years haha. Can’t say enough great things about them!

I wish I could give Master Muffler more stars than just 5! All of the services they preformed on my car arent even here in the dropdown display of options for this review but they did SO much! They went above and beyond to get me back my car in as good condition as possible--even cleaning my windows just because! Staying late and coming in early to work on my car, they cared enough to make sure I had my car back in time to get around as soon as possible. Very detail oriented crew, reliable, honest and generous! Some of the services they carried out didnt even make it to the invoice. I took my car into the Provo location and these men really know their stuff. Just by listening the car sounds, they could diagnose the problem, which was extensive but now my car is better than before the issue ever arose. All thanks to them! My son took the car to their shop based on the reviews I read beforehand. Those reviews spoke of Ed being fair and doing good work. So we went there. Our 2004 Chevy Classic had a check engine light and a rusted out muffler. It never would have passed emissions so we needed it repaired. Besides the muffler, it has never had a tune up so I asked for him to check the plugs and fix the check engine issue. He found that the plugs were original issue and needed to be replaced. So I went ahead with the entire repair order.Ed got it repaired quickly and sent me the bill in an email. My son paid the bill and drive off with instructions on how to allow the Chevy drive-cycle to iterate once before emissions test to be sure the check engine light was gone. There was a mistake made on the bill and I spoke to Ed. He was very kind and receptive. He gladly corrected the mistake. In the followup visit the car passed emmisions with flying colors. Ed was glad to have our business and my son got a note from them thanking us for our confidence in making things right with their service. They went out of their way to make sure the job was done right and that we were satisfied. That is the kind of service we all expect. Thank you Ed and team.

Came in the other day to have a headlight replaced (after Jiffy Lube wanted to charge me a ridiculous amount because the headlight would be difficult to access). Ed replaced the light in less than two minutes and charged me a fraction of what Jiffy Lube wanted. He also noticed that my brake pads were dangerously thin and suggested that I get them replaced that day.He took me back to the car and showed me with a flash light exactly what was going on. Sure enough, I was extremely close to metal on metal with the rotors. He ordered the brake pads right away and had them replaced just a few hours later. After removing the old pads, Ed showed me how close I was to ruining my rotors and causing a very expensive problem (see attached pictures). Master Muffler helped me to avert disaster and saved me a lot of money!As someone who knows little about cars, and having bad past experiences with mechanics who exploited that, I am always weary to take my car in. After my experience with Master Muffler, Im happy to say Ive found a place with a team I can trust. I highly recommend these guys.

I showed up around 9a.m. and Ed was the guy who greeted me. Great guy, never met him before but I instantly felt like we were pals.I wasnt even sure what I was looking for so he asked a few probing questions and just made it really easy. Told me exactly what was going to happen and the price was lower than I thought it would be. He got my truck in immediately and took less then an hour to do the job. My truck started to make a weird noise by the exhaust manifold so I made an appointment to have it checked out and potentially fixed. They called back within a timely manner and let me know exactly what was wrong and how to fix it. I had EJ and Brett install a magnaflow muffler and custom tip several years ago. They where over 100.00 cheaper than the salt lake Murray master muffler. They did an amazing job and allowed me to come back in the shop and listen to 4-5 mufflers before commiting. I was sold. I moved far away and switched to Murrays location to save time. I asked for the same setup part number Provo installed and after getting the new exhaust in Murray it didn’t exactly sound the same but didn’t research it or understand why. I ordered a 2nd exact magnaflow muffler setup on another identical vehicle in Murray before realizing they where putting in different magnaflow mufflers and length case than what I initially wanted.Just ordering whatever they had in stock and where used to ordering despite me clarifying what i exactly wanted.The price just kept getting more out of control at 250 then 350 for similar installs. I finally said enough and called Provo and spoke to ED and he quoted again at least $100 less and had the part in stock that Murray had to order in from the warehouse and the reason it was never what I wanted as Murray never let me listen to it until it is pretty much welded in and done.Then Murray location charged me like another 50.00 for 4 minutes work to remove the resonator after the exhaust was complete as the resonator was quieting all the sound. Rather than eat the 5 minutes work and honor the quoted price??Provo is by far more affordable than any other shops and they truly care about getting the job done right l, hindering prices and making the customer happy with what there getting !!If half the salt lake customers new the difference the salt lake shops would be out of business.

The day before we were moving cross country, we noticed our radiator had a major leak. We made an appointment at another shop for it to be fixed the next morning, only for that place to be closed. My husband drove to Master Muffler to see if they could squeeze us in. They said they would try to have it fixed by end of day. They had it done before noon and their quote turned out to be far below the other shops. Absolutely would recommend. Thank you guys so much for helping us out on such a short notice!

We live in Salt Lake and was thinkin about biying a truck down in Provo. Before we made the drive, we asked the dealership to drop the truck off at Master Muffler for a Pre Purchase Inspection. The inspection took a little longer than expected but after receiving the phone call for the results, I understood why. These guys know what they are doing and do it well. We got a short laundry list of necessary repairs for now and in the near future. The fee for the inspection was 100% worth the bullet dodged!

We had our pipe crack off our resonator after hitting a rock. Ed was very friendly and gave us options for the repair depending how much we wanted to spend. They were honest with the problem and it was a fair price. I would go here again for any muffler related needs.

We had an AMAZING experience getting our exhaust/Y-pipe fixed. We had never been here before, but were referred to Master Muffler by someone at the Ford dealership. We are SO glad we went! I believe it was maybe Ed (?) who helped us out, getting us in and fixing our problem so quickly! Customer service here is seriously (as we were told!) AMAZING!! Would definitely go back if we needed more help in the future from them!

My battery died overnight and the roadside assistance told me my battery looked really bad and needed to be replaced. I took my car into Jiffy Lube and they told me the battery was still good but I needed a new alternator and they quoted me $800+. I took it into Master Muffler and they told me just the opposite: The alternator is great and the battery is, in fact, dead. The battery was just barely working and so it seemed fine with initial tests but they found it had no reserve. They took great care of me, were careful in finding the real problems, and then gave me a great deal on a new battery with a five year warranty. I’m glad my regular auto repair shop wasn’t available today and that I tried out Master Muffler. I’ll be returning for sure.

My first inquiry with Ed was very informative and he saved a job price quote in his system for me.E.J. and his team worked on my vehicle and were professional and pleasant. They made sure any additional work was approved of with a price estimate and then done. E.J. was kind enough to give us slight discounts for discrepancies in part costs if it didnt match what he had quoted to me earlier. They did a great job in less than a day.Every part of this experience was good and will definitely be a place I would return to.

This is my most trusted mechanic. Ive been there several times and the manager is a no-nonsense, get-it-done-right kind of guy. They looked over my old Corolla and gave me an honest assessment that it was better to get rid of it than repair it, and I didnt get charged for that evaluation. Ive gotten straight answers on other repairs and wherever possible, Ive been given a comprehensive list of options that puts me in an educated decision-making position, something that I value as a customer. The shop is conveniently located in south Provo. Theyve got my business as long as Im in the area.

Came in to get my brakes checked cause they were a bit too screechy for my comfort, and they took a look for me and made sure everything was okay. They didn’t try to sell me on anything I didn’t need, and didn’t charge me for checking the brakes out. 10/10 customer service. I’ll definitely be back when I need work done!

Ed, the owner, provides some of the most reliable, honest mechanic work around. I trust his opinion and he has never tried to push anything we dont need. And he seems to be able to quickly diagnose problems, but always does a thorough check to be certain. His prices are fair, but hes not trying to be the cheapest place in town. We even do our oil changes and safety inspections here. Again not the cheapest, but he isnt trying to sell a bunch of add on work either. Weve had good luck taking both foreign and domestic cars to him. He also does free inspections of used cars you might be considering buying, if he has time. But hes thorough enough that he usually finds something to make you think twice about the car.

I have brought both my vehicles here and only here for a good 2 years going on 3. And I have never ever been disappointed. Before I started coming here consistently I would shop around for qoutes and never found better. They do good work, have really good prices, and I have never once had to bring my vehicle back for a problem they fixed. The atmosphere is friendly and helpful, Ed has always been free to answer questions and explain things to me patiently making sure I understand what is broken. and if they say there are other problems with your vehicle, its because there is. This master muffler is the most honest efficient friendly shop I know of, and I will never bring my vehicles anywhere else.ALSO! For those reading reviews you will notice a few foolish negative ones. One is about not installing customer parts. I got a 92 Corolla from facebook that I knew was going to be a challenge when I bought it in the middle of the night from some individual. The morning after buying it, the oil pressure light came on, played around with fluids under the hood, then the check engine light came on. Towed it to SavMor Auto in Orem, they fixed it, and of course this challenging-to-work-with needed an exhaust leak repair, so Alex told me to go to an exhaust shop.I picked Master Muffler because it wasnt the notoriously cheapest place close to where I lived, since I wanted to not take any risks, and he (Ed) I guess replaced the flex tube on my 92 Corolla DX. So far, so good, and I would be aiming to come back here, if it fails. Take your car here, if you like your car.

Ed is great! I had my car checked out before a trip to Mexico. He did a full check completely free even before doing any work. He then pointed out some things on the vehicle and told me what he recommended. I ended up doing everything he mentioned, but he didnt charge me anything for a couple of the things done. I was really impressed. All in all, I am very happy and send my friends and family his way.

I had a pretty tight deadline to get an emissions check done on a newly purchased car, these guys bent over backwards to get me on my way. They even drove me to work (in my own car) so that I could get the work done in the morning and have it ready by lunch time. The mechanic gave me a good deal on parts and labor, then his boss gave me further discounts without even asking.While I was waiting, an older lady came in and was concerned with performance of her car. The owner (who is super friendly) took it in the shop, spent a while looking at it and then returned it to her free of charge with the assurance that the car was in good working order. Nice guys ;)

A good mechanic is one of the harder people to find when you move somewhere and need to arrange service providers. Ed and his team are without doubt, the answer to your search. I have taken both of my vehicles to them for multiple years now and Ed masterfully diagnoses issues repairs them, and explains them too. You never feel like youre getting taken for a ride. The best mechanic Ive ever been to. Other mechanics will try and sell you a bunch of stuff that you dont need. These guys focus on safety and nothing more. When I got my brake pads replaced the guy took awhile to give me a quote because he was searching for the best deal! The repair was way less than the other guys. These guys deserve your business!! Im coming here for all my car repairs. An honest mechanic is hard to come by these days.

I love these guys! A friend at work recommended them when I needed my brakes replaced. The price was fair, the work was done quickly and my brakes are working just fine. The best part tho is that they have since taken very good care of me. My car is about a million years old - actually 23 - so it needs a lot of TLC and thats what Ed arranges for her to get. Ed and his crew have fixed things that couldnt be fixed, found parts that couldnt be found by anyone else and got my car up and running more than once. They are now my #1 mechanics! I can’t say enough about Ed and all the workers at master muffler. They are honest and Ed works by the motto, “if I can’t explain what the issue is to you, there is no problem.” As a woman, when it comes to cars we can oftentimes be treated like we can’t understand the problem. Ed explained what was going on with my car perfectly and even took me back to see what they were working on.I told him I was going on a trip to Montana and he just had them check my car and top off the fluids for no charge. They even fixed the way another shop put in my alternator. I’ve had my break pads changed and an emissions test done here. I call up Ed when I have questions about my car. When I went into Master Muffler I did so just because I went there another time many years ago. BUT, this visit was even more memorable because of how I was treated. Ed is great to accommodate my curiosity to see what was wrong with my car. I thought it was going to be the entire muffler and exhaust system, but it was just a blown gasket very easily repairable. I appreciate very much his honesty of what the solution was.The repair was done in good time while I was there, and for a very economical price. I had my 3 year old grandson with me who decided it would be a good time to investigate and clean out my cosmetic purse while I was busy. Ed was not worried at all, in fact, he even came over and helped to clean up the makeup which was all over my grandson and their floor. What a kind and friendly place to be. We hit a boulder coming out of the canyon on our way home to Idaho. We googled a muffler shop and went here because of the high rating and we were not disappointed! EJ was so great to us and was very knowledgeable and efficient. Highly, highly recommend.

Ed was extremely friendly and helpful. I needed a resonator fixed on my exhaust and I took it to him and he was able to get it done for cheap and within less than an hour! Extremely honest service with very fair prices for parts and labor. Ill definitely be back.

I felt like the owner knew me! Excellent service. In addition, they definitely do more than just muffler and brakes! I got the cheapest emission and inspection I could find and a catalytic converter replacement all within an hour and a half. Could have just been a good day for them but either way it was fantastic for me!

Ed was amazing! I was having a hard time getting my car to pass emissions and took my car to a couple places and they kept trying to give me a quick fix. Ed actually took the time find the root of the problem and help us fix it. He was more than fair with price and made sure we knew exactly what was going on every step of the way. I found a coupon for a synthetic oil change on their website and called to see if it was still valid. The person I talked to was very polite and said that they would still honor the coupon.I easily scheduled an appointment that I ended up having to cancel the morning of because I was sick that morning. I called to cancel, and the person I talked to was very polite and easily rescheduled.My moms been bringing her cars in here for years because she feels like they always are honest and fair in their estimates, and so far Im a believer as well! I highly recommend this shop even if you have to drive out of the way to get there. We were from out of state and they did a great job of repairing our car and even called the next day to make sure everything was OK. Outstanding service.

Ed was AMAZING. I was driving with my daughter down to Dallas Texas. We needed help because the brakes were making weird noises. We took it into Ed and he spent about 40 minutes looking at the brakes. He cleaned up the issue that we had and didnt charge us. Hes a very nice and honest person. We definitely would recommend him to anyone.
