One word used to describe.... YUM !!!! My husband and I were on a road trip heading back home. Our go to breakfast; is trying out bagel places we havent gone to before. The bagels were FULL of meat and eggs, the Bacon was actually cooked not microwaved and wiggly like most places. We will be going back for sure! Thanks guys for the awesome breakfast!! ππ
My experience thus far has been good! Pricing was more than reasonable. I bought the Egg, Cheese, & Canadian Bacon on a whole wheat bagel, and it was delicious. Its a small place given the frequency of customers, both inside and the drive-thru. So there was a wait, but it turned out that it was worth it.
Their bagels are freaking amazing and the service is one of a kind. They have an awesome menu selection and the service staff are the best.
Best place in providence to wait an hour for a bagel.Donβt bother ordering ahead, youβll end up waiting even longer when you show up. Online orders are clearly pushed to the back of the queue until you get there and ask where your order is. I understand the place is busy, but more organization is clearly needed. Very hectic, but decent food.
Positives: Super convenient and friendly staff, even when theyre swamped. They have good recommendations for substitutions if your favorite flavor sold out early.Words of caution:-Count your bagels before you leave. I got shorted a bagel and didnt realize it until I was packing them up to freeze.-Bagels are enjoyable but dont compare to a NY bagel. Still on my list of bagel spots regardless.
This place is always busy so get ready for a long wait either in the lobby or drive thru, but ITS WORTH IT. Great breakfast sandwiches and super friendly staff. Dont forget to get a fresh dog treat for your pooch too! My dog flipped for hers.
I went to their Providence location this past Friday to celebrate National Bagel Day! (Celebrations are few and far between this last year, so this holiday was VERY welcome.)I didnβt realize until I got there that this location is limited to its drive through and ordering online in advance. Luckily, they also accept orders over the phone so I was able to call my order in after figuring their system out! From looking inside, they have rows of tables that they will place the online orders on for customers to pick up. They had an Asiago everything bagel special they say I went and it was bursting with flavor. I wish they had this special all the time! It worked great as the base for an egg and cheese sandwich. The team working there was super nice and even brought our order outside to us ahead of when I thought everything would be ready. Next time Iβll know to order ahead for pick up!
Providence Bagel has such an awesome product, it stings that much more when you have problems obtaining it. My standards are plain CC and fresh lox on a toasted everything, or a McCourty on everything, and they never disappoint, but be prepared: the place gets super busy. If you order online, do so at least 30 minutes in advance. The ordering system will not let you select an earlier time, and it means it. The people here are at least super friendly.
Online ordering is easy for pick up in store. bagels are delicious and there is tons of variety on customizing bagel sandwiches. the nitro cold brew is the best i have had in all of providence.
Best bagels in the area. Theres nothing better than a fresh soft bagel with homemade cream cheese.
We love providence bagel! They have e such a great product, and they make specialty coffees too! Theyre pretty quick in the drive thru though there is always a line, and theres usually a line inside you! Im hoping theyll add gluten free items to the menu, but until then Ill just keep getting coffees while my boyfriend gets his bagel!
In my opinion Providence needs as many good bagel shops as it can get. Unfortunately, the service at Providence Bagel is just disappointing. Really disorganized and flustered staff. This morning, I waited for over 30 minutes inside the building for my online order. I asked about it a couple times, and the response was βUmmm....hmmmm....itβs coming?β After asking for the second time, 15 minutes later, it turned out my order had been waiting on the counter and.....no one bothered to call out the name for this finished order? No one said sorry for the wait. It was pretty busy in there. Chaos behind the counter. I really donβt blame the individual staff. From what I could tell there was no manager on duty to communicate any sense of urgency or organize the production. (If there was, their presence was utterly unfelt.)After all that the bagel sandwich was.....okay. It was still warm and made the way it was ordered, so, good enough. But the service was just so disorderly, it made my experience sour. Like I said I only care so much because I love a good bagel shop, and Providence so lacks in that area. That being said, I wonβt be back here until their operation runs more smoothly.
Fast, hearty egg sandwich. Good for on the go. They have many different bagels. We came and got the bagel of the day- beer cheese with eggs, ham and some spinach. The eggs in it were thick. We also got the sausage one too and it the sausage was pretty thick. Took a bit long to make it but it was pretty busy.
Bagels are good. Cream cheese is good. Egg sandwiches are not great. Not bad but not great. They have no flavor and the egg tastes like water. If you order avocado on anything, Iβm pretty sure they just wave an avocado over your sandwich. For β$2 eachβ (whatever that means), there should clearly be avocado slices on a sandwich. Not a small amount of paste.
There is always such a long wait! It should not take 25+ min to toast a bagel and throw some cream cheese in a bag. Their vegan cream cheese (both the plain and chive) are to-die-for, hence why I wait so long for a bagel. North providence location has the same if not worse of a problem with this.
Only knocking a star off for the okay service.. the 2 sandwiches we ordered were phenomenal! The Patriot with bacon on it is one of the best bagel deli sandwiches I have ever had. The Federal Hill breakfast sandwich was also delicious, though they forgot to put the mushrooms on it this time. The roasted red peppers and pesto make it really flavorful. A tad pricey but the food is worth it IMO.
Im Vegan. You give me a bagel with cream cheese thats plant based and Im happy. This place is my guilty pleasure lol good job!!
Great coffee, great food, great service! Im never disappointed when I come here
Bagels definetly exceed my expectations for rhode island, but nothing like NY bagel store. There were 6 employees and I was the only customer in the store with 2 people on the drive through. It took 10 minutes to cut a bagel and put some cream cheese on it. Definetly not the bagel store service standards Ive always been to.. but hey theres not many options for edible bagels
The McCourty wasnt great, but it wasnt bad. Not enough meat. The everything bagel it was served on was its saving grace- very good. I should of gotten two Lox on pumpernickel. Good lord it was delicious, Ill be getting a few more often.
Good food but they get my order wrong every time but I still want a lox sandwich on the fly.How hard is it to not put onions on a sandwich...Especially when they repeat it back to you...
Spent over $30 on two coffees, two bagel sandwiches, a bagel with cream cheese and a small bag of chips near closing time. Received what tasted like salmon cream cheese (at least I hope...) instead of vegetable cream cheese on one of the sandwiches and didnt feel well afterwards. We were traveling through from out of state which makes communicating issues after closing difficult. Update: They have good customer service and if you communicate your issues you should be able to resolve them in an amicable manner.
Amazing bagels . However the service isnβt all that. I waited 10 minutes at the counter for a bagelβ¦ seemed like the whole time the bagel just sat there while the 2 employees just chit chatted.
Pretty nice spot, some great bagels and sandwiches, but the sandwiches are nothing to die for. Drive through can be AWFUL sometimes with a really long wait (and they got my coffee order wrong last time) so Id reccomend going inside.
Iβm giving the North Providence a two star. I was in there a few weeks ago after putting an online order in at 7:29 8 oβclock my food was still not ready. I left to go to work up the road and came back at 8:40 and still my one bagel was not ready. The girl said they had a call outβ¦ OK understandable. Well the next day my bank account showed not only was I charged for one bagel I was charged for three. I kindly walked into the location to speak to a manager regarding the 5.49 I was charged three times. The manager was unavailable the very kind girl behind the counter took my name and phone number. A week later... no phone call still
I wasnt a bagel guy until their tasty bagels and specialty cream cheeses were available via a convenient drive-thru.
The bagels are delish but very disappointing now 2nd time this week I have ordered and asked for our bagels to be toasted and out of 4 only 1 was toasted and Iβm pretty sure itβs because I had butter not cream cheese on my sandwich all the others were cold and not toasted all the staff could say was sorry weβll do better next time, not to keen on giving a 3rd chance
Bagels are great. Service is very slow. The workers move very slow and it doesnt matter if theres 5 or 20. Worth the wait but dont go if youre in a rush. Placing online orders is easy but Ive done that twice now and every time I go in they havent even started making it. Cream cheese poppin though
Big bagels. A lot of different cream cheese types.
Food was good, service wasnβt the best. Was my 1st time here... the tablet kept messing up...was given half my order, had to grab their attention at the window (we were being ignored) idk Iβd give it another shot...
Good service and friendly staff. A fresh bagel for me and treats for the pups!
Good bagels, slow and disorganized service. not worth it.
PROVIDENCE BAGEL IS BEST IN RI, UNTIL SOMEONE CAN SHOW WE OTHERWISE, WITH 2 GREAT LOCATIONS. NORTH MAIN ST IN PROVIDENCE, OR MINERAL SPRING IN NORTH PROVIDENCE.
Great service, good selection of bagels and sandwiches, good lemonade, good covid precautions
When I first started coming here this place was great! My past couple recent orders I havenβt been to happy with. 3 times in a row now they havenβt got my order right. My last order I ordered the Atlantic which comes with lettuce and tomato. I asked to add cheese and red onions... which they put on but no lettuce or tomato which normally comes with it. I also got a nice scrumptious amount of tuna splattered everywhere even the outside bottom of the bagel was soaked...delightful! Might as well take a mixing bowl added all the ingredients including the bagel and eat it that way! Next time if they donβt forget the lettuce I recommend putting that on the bottom that way the tuna doesnβt fall through the bagel hole!
Its so annoying how they throw a handful of crumpled up napkins in your bag. Its just lazy and unattractive, it looks like trash in my bag. They also DONT LISTEN at all when you order at the speaker. The employees need to put in more effort for sure. But i would like to add that the bagels are AMAZING AND DELICIOUS and thats why i continue going back.
McDonalds quality bagel with DMV level service, just not good on any front.I swore off PVD bagel in 2018, after a sandwich sent me to the bathroom for hours. Though in 2021, I decided to make a return - I am not typing this from the bathroom, which is the reason for the two stars versus one.Service - Unfriendly & cold. The employees do not seem happy whatsoever, and the young lady I interacted today looked actively annoyed. I ordered a iced coffee - was given a hot coffee - and reiterated that I ordered an iced. No Oh wow I am so sorry about that - rather just a closing of the drive thru window & making an iced coffee. Curious if this young lady was working there against her will... It sure seemed like it.ICED Coffee - Not so great. Far worse than Starbucks, Blue Bottle, or even Dunkin coffee. I am not enjoying this drink. I do like that they wrote have a good day :) on the lid, though I am assuming they write these messages on the lids in mass - as the girl serving me the coffee did not seem to care if I had a good day,Bagel - Bacon, Egg, and Cheese on a plain bagel. The eggs werent prepared freshly (rather it was a depressing circle of rewarmed eggs), the bacon was burned and again not prepared fresh, and while the bagel itself was decentish - I feel that I could get a better bagel from Whole Foods (there is a WFM under 500 feet from this location).Price - I suppose the redeeming quality is the price.?? $9.70something for a large coffee and bagel sandwich. PVDbagels main competitor (which is infuriatingly closed Tues/Wed) would charge like $13 - granted, it is far better. Will I be back - Definitely not, this place OH MY GOSH I LEGIT HAVE TO RUN TO THE BATHROOM RIGHT NOW
Taking so long to make just two π₯―! Also there is no sign for drive thru so itβs confusingπ€, people are nice.
Providence Bagel is a different experience every time. Overall, theyre awesome but lack consistency. For example:-No exaggerating, 90%+ of my orders have been wrong but they were happy to correct it everytime. This is likely due to staff working in a small area and the crazy amount of orders they get. The worst was when I ordered a lox bagel and was given a bag of salmon, or is that a win?-Bought an oreo muffin, it had half an oreo in it. The next week, they were overstuffed with oreos. The giant cinna melts are either the size of a credit card or a truck. Similar stories with other foods.-Great about correcting errors and taking criticism but once in a while they get passive aggressive.Overall, Providence Bagel is reasonably priced, has friendly staff, and is willing to fix mistakes. I appreciate the weird bagel flavors every weekend as well as their other rotating foods. Pretty good place!
I never leave bad reviews. And their food is amazing. But their ability to handle orders has gone completely downhill. The past couple of times Iβve ordered online, it sends you a text saying the food is ready, but when you get there you have to wait 15+ minutes. Whatever, I can handle that without complaining. But itβs consistent now and a huge problem. You can get through the drive thru four times in the amount of time it takes to wait for your online order that should have been ready when you got there. Unfortunately, today was the last straw for meβI ordered online at 9:40am and arrived at 10:15. Waited outside until 10:55... still no food. Had to leave and call them multiple times until I could get someone on the line to cancel my order. Disappointing because the food is good...but itβs not worth the hassle of getting it.
The best bagel shop in RI in my opinion. Everything is made on site, even down the cream cheese. Im horribly addicted to this place.I always order lox, and its a very reasonable price. The coffee is also pretty good, they offer sip lids which I definitely appreciate.A word of warning, their parking lot is terrible. Be ready to wade through some awful drivers. I usually park far away or just hop in their drive - through
We have a sesame allergy, and were told that they were unwilling to even wipe down the cutting boards for us. Had to cancel our order. Other bagel shops are perfectly willing to do this.
You literally cant go here before work because the line is so long but when you actually have time to make the trip the staff is wonderful and the food is great!
I have had poor experiences at the North Main location but decided to give the Mineral Spring location a shot today, and it was no better. I was the only customer and had to wait about 10 minutes for 2 toasted bagels with cream cheese, they didnt even put the cream cheese on the bagels, so not sure why my order took so long.As with the North Main location, the store was dirty and messy, un-swept floors, used napkins on the floor, multiple uncleaned coffee spills on the counter; clearly poor management. If you go, take a look at the ventilation vents above the food prep area, visually filthy, if they dont clean the front of house where customers are present imagine the kitchen.
Very good I am traveling it was enough for lunch and dinner
Ive never been but my friend has he loves it
They got my order half right today. The coffees were amazing and correct. The bagel sandwiches, not so much. I get youβre busy but please pay more attention. Your bagels are too expensive to get someone elseβs and not enjoy it at all. Disappointing.
Coffee and food are out of this world. Usually a long wait, but worth it.
Everything minus the coffee is fantastic
We ordered online because that βavoids the lineβ and they say you need to download an app to order? But we ordered through their website where it says βorder onlineβ. My sister got charged twice for the order. We placed the order at 10:29am, it said a 15-20 minute wait but once we got there after 20 minutes, there was up to 8 people waiting under the tent. The woman working said itβs actually a 40 minute wait even though their website said 20 minutesβitβs 20 minutes AFTER they receive your order (confirmed through email). We finally got a text at 11:05am saying βplan to arrive in 15-20 minutesβ, and finally got the bagels at 11:20am, almost an hour wait total. The 2 blueberry & 1 French toast bagels with cream cheese were cold, hard and had a slight oniony taste. AND the bacon, egg & cheese was missing the egg completely! The bagels were very average, I donβt know what changed because Iβve had them catered before. Also itβs really hard to get into a spot since cars are blocking them due to the long drive through line. Not necessarily their fault but it couldβve been more organized. Needless to say weβre never coming back here again.
Ive been excited to try this place and was really dissatisfied. I went through the drive thru and there were 2 cars in front of me. It was about 20 minutes of a wait after I placed my order before I got mine which I didnt expect. I got a bacon egg and cheese on a bagel. The sandwich was warm but the bagel was hardly toasted (the outside was warm but the inside was completely untouched and soft which was weird), there was 1 peice of bacon and the egg was the worst part. It had a rubbery texture, tasted burnt and looked like the just threw a bunch of eggs on a sheet pan and cut squares out for sandwiches and didnt taste fresh at all. I was really surprised at the low quality of an artisan place. I think Id be willing to go back and just get a bagel and cream cheese but I would want to get stuck with a hardly toasted bagel again. I would definitely not suggest getting the egg on any sandwich. Hopefully it was just a bad batch. Side note, it would also be helpful to give drive thu customer a napkin or two with a sandwich π€·ββοΈ
Very good food
Dont bother coming here they will forget your order and then youll have to remind them twice to make it and they still wont do it.
5 of the guys who I work with got coffee from that place an the 5 of them agree worse coffee they have the bagels are not that great but we all have different tastes
Absolutely love their bagels!!
Oh yes...a TRUE NY bagel. Dense, great flavor, heavily studded with seeds and salt-AND a real schmear.
Really like going here but the Providence drive thru is incredibly slow. 5 cars take 20 minutes. Please speed up as we need to get back to work.
Overall meh. Staff was loudly messing around and I had to shout over them to get my order in. They also messed up my order by missing one of the add-ons. The bagel itself was a little tough and dry. Wouldnβt return.
First visit, just had an everything bagel with veggie cream cheese. Excellent NY-style bagel. Hefty size, nice chewy inside, fresh and punchy flavor. Will definitely be back!
Usually never leave reviews. The location in Providence has great bagels, food, and coffee and always has every time Iβve gone. However, I went today and spent 35+ minutes in the drivethru for two coffees, a sandwich and a bagel. I can understand a 10-15 minute wait since, I assume, everything is made fresh. But 35+ minutes in the drivethru (this is also not the first time going in the drivethru) is enough to make me consider not going back. Maybe they were short staffed or someone called out. Either way, this isnβt the first time. I think they are missing out on the potential opportunity and $ they would make if they would get the timing in the drivethru right.
I did curbside pick up, first time there. Breakfast sandwiches were amazing. Prices were very good. Providence location has a drive thru.
Delicious and fast service
Yes the line will be long, yes other motorists will lay on their horns as you idle on Rt 1, but my Lord. #blessed
I donβt really see the hype and to be honest a bit overpriced. The breakfast sandwiches are just OKAY. The coffee is bland and always way to hot to the touch
Delicious π
They got my whole order wrong
Food was cold the first time, asked for a new order and food came out cold again...
Well renowned in the are while also in a feud for being the best in town. This once well traveled placed is one I can cross off the checklist but wouldnt travel to it more than a couple of times a year.
Modern but unhealthy
3 stars today as they were out of salsa for the Fiesta and substitued with sliced tomato. Clearly not the same. Never communicated they were out of salsa
Bagels are great, not the coffee and bagel sandwiches. Waited 18 minutes for egg sausage sandwiches. Better off going with cream cheese, just check that you received the right one. They mess that up pretty often.
I used to go here a couple times a week when I worked in RI. My favorite bagel place around. I love the green tea there too.
Very busy place! You need to keep track of your items, it is common sense. That said, phenomenal coffee, bagels, and breakfast sandwiches (on bagels). I am from Boston and this would compete easily on the best neighborhoods - Harvard Square, beacon hill, South End, Kendall, any spot! This is high quality, delicious, canβt really get any better. Is parking an issue, no it isnβt. For a city, it is amazing and there is a drive through.
These are the best bagels in RI and Southern MA.
Went for a special bagel. Order was wrong. Line was long. It was ok.
A flavorful selection of fresh and tasty bagels!! Also an abundance of fresh ingredients to make some really awesome sandwiches. Also a lot of plant-based even vegan eggs.
A solid breakfast spot for a quick stop to grab a bacon egg & cheese. I do wish the flavors of the bagels were stronger. Otherwise, a reliable breakfast stop in providence
Delicious bagels that are not worth the wait and always high chance of them getting the order wrong
Ordered 2 egg sandwiches through the online app, one of them came as a dry toasted bagel with nothing on it, the other had everything but the egg. The result was me so hungry at work that I was sick to my stomach. Was called about there being no French Toast bagels so I said put them both on Asiago, ended up getting put in as just and asiago instead of a Great North. The one that was Build Your Own Egg Sandwich came with no egg. The online app doesnt even have an option for egg, figured that was a given under the egg sandwich category to. Also the charge pending on my account is 24.08 as it went through for my original order plus a $4 tipI should add that I like this shop and the service, the issue seems to have stemmed from ordering through the app. Ordered through website previously without issue
A 1.5 hour wait in the DRIVE THRU with no way out is unacceptable.
Highly recommend! Really cute place with the BEST iced coffee on draft. Also loved the fact we had the option of using a straw or a sip cup lid for the iced coffee. Really good onion bagel and veg cream cheese spread. But the patriot bagel sandwich with a French toast bagel was AMAZING. I will be back because I havent tried everything yet! :) Its not too hard to support local businesses when this one is 10 times better than a corporate chain!
Everything was good, try it.
Bagels took 20 minutes, then the food was only prepared after we asked about it a second time. It was no surprise that the bagels had just been sitting on the counter and now ice cold. There are so many smaller breakfast places in providence that provide better food, service, and prices. I wonβt be coming back.
The bagels here are fine and the shop is cute. But, their system for serving customers needs tweaking. It takes FOREVER to get a simple order like a few bagels in a bag, because the checkout person adds that to the list of work for the sandwich maker. The checkout person should be doing those simple things so people dont need to plan a 20 minute stop for a couple of as is bagels.
The honey-wheat with sunflower seeds? Top notch! We had a great experience here. Not New York style, but delicious nonetheless. Definitely check them out!
My daily breakfast!Excellent choice of bagels!Best bagel in providence period!I have been going here since months now and always had a satisfying breakfast at this place. Its almost like my day goes good coz of them.Very kind and helpful people working there.
The best bagels and coffee. We thought our NJ bagels were good until we tried these! Just minutes from the Marriott hotel and open early so it was perfect for our softball schedule. Veggie cream cheese on an everything bagel. Cinnamon sugar with honey walnut cream cheese.
