I’m new to Indian cuisine so this is my opinion. Very large selection of spices and rice as well as other packaged items. The prices seem very reasonable compared to a super market. It’s a small store with a lot of inventory so it’s a bit cramped. It wasn’t very clean and that is a bit concerning. However it appears there is a lot of business and much inventory is turned over quickly. As far as the person working, he was nice, we struggled a bit communicating because of language issues but he was helpful.

They pretty much have all Indian spices and stuff . Usually most of the Indian stores close by 8 this stays open till 9

The person standing at front desk is not at all professional, he is so annoying and mannerless. Don’t ask him about product review, he want to sell the items which are not sold since long. Over prized. Every time I regret, I only went when it’s late, as store open till 8-9. Try to avoid.

First of all the person at the register talks on the phone while attending customer. Also he thinks he’s at home because he swears in front of customers thinking everything is fine and no one knows what is he talking about. Fresh snacks are only fresh if it has date on it. Some of there fresh snacks are frozen which are being heated in the store and pack and selling it making fool of consumer. Some of the froZen items doesn’t have any expiry date. Over priced on all the products except Deep.

A decent cozy Indian Grocery store with quite a few selection of Indian food and grocery items! You’d be surprised by how much they have to offer for a relatively small store!

A one stop shop for quick immediate Indian grocery in Wheeling area. Reasonable prices and sometimes even better rates compared to other big Indian retailers. Fresh Vegetables are available each Thursday.

Nice Indian grocery store. The owner is very friendly and helpful. There are many Indian grocery stores nearby but this one is the best. I have had other stores sell expired food items..but in Prabhu its always fresh. Highly recommend to try this store.

If you are looking for Indian and grocery then my 100%recommendation place is Prabhu grocery. Its under convenient shopping center on the elumhurst road. You will find all type of dry grocery there. Thursdays you will find fresh vegetables. The price is little high but the staff is very helping and nice nature. You will find rice, flour everything theres. Its next to Papa John. Parking is free and parking like structure.

Nice and maintained well. For fresh veggies do visit on Monday and Thursday. They have fresh roti everyday.

One positive point is that its run by jains and stocks only vegetarian items. Rates are similiar to other indian groceries stores.

Please check the expiry date of product before you purchase . I experienced that many product were very close to expiry date . Hope store owner will make sure and next time will get it fresh products.

Worst experience!! Got groundnut chikkis from this place. And got Indian pantry moths in my kitchen.Alarmed seeing few insects flying, I cleaned the entire kitchen and got to know its from the groundnut chikkis. It was filled with moth eggs!! Had to throw out most other stuff from my kitchen too because the infestation got spread in that counter. My 2 full days are gone cleaning the kitchen. Encountered pantry moths in all the stages ( eggs, worms, cocoons and the flying moths). It was yuck!!!!! And all these because of one pack of groundut chikkis for $3.. never shopped in prabhus... did for the first time and ended up losing around $50 and 2 full days.

Price is comparatively cheaper than other Indian Grocery stores.Place is clean. Staff is friendly. Does not sell meat. You will get discounts in every festival season.

Great Indian store and very friendly

Everything these guys have for sale is stale, old and costly.The owner is always over-praising the items and always says that the stuff is fresh. However, I always had a bad experience for whatever stuff I buy from here.I have provided a few examples:1. Meswak Toothpaste, manufactured 3 years back, like many other items which are already expired2. Marathon Mangoes: If you believe the lady, the mangoes were from florida, from a farm of their Gujarati friend which has been developed from Seeds from India. And that these special fruit is available only at her store. Whereas I had purchased the same mangoes from Garden Fresh at a much cheaper price.3. Home made sabji in the cold section: I had thought of buying these ready to eat sabji from Prabhu stores. The lady was as usual full praise for the stuff and said that these sabjis are really in demand and are prepared fresh every day. It was Friday and I thought I will purchase them on a weekday and carry it to office. I went to the store again on Monday and found that the sabji containers had not even been moved. The sabjis were in the same position on Monday. God knows how many days she had kept them in that fridge.I had similar experiences with Kachori, Aalo Bonda and other stuff she has for sale. They are all stale.I would have appreciated if the lady was truthful. I will never be buying stuff from her, I prefer SwamiNarayan / Sheetal on Dundee.For lump sum buying, I prefer to travel to Vishnu Foods next to Vishnuvilas / Parivar Grocers next to India House in Hoffman Estates.I would never suggest anybody to purchase stuff from Prabhu Grocers.
