Might be an excellent machinist, but it took months to get my block back. When it was done he gave me a break on the price originally quoted and said hed install cam bearings for free. I stopped in twice to get the installation and have been waiting over a month for a call back. I went to ANR and got them done same day. Cost a few bucks but its done. He might be a good machinist but hes a lousy business man.
Bobby does an excellent job in the machining of internal combustion engines and components!
Bobby takes pride in his work and he is an exellent Maschinst.Sometimes it will take longer, because there are no qualified Workers, who can assist him, it defently makes it harder.Good Job.
Bobby Marcum did an outstanding job of building my engine for my old vette. He went above and beyond what most would have done to help me out....spending many long after hours at his own expense. I will forever be greatfull that I met the man. He definitely knows what he is doing and has a fantastic shop. Thanks for the experience.
The only reason Im giving this ONE star (vs zero) is because when Bobby Marcum WORKS, its very good.Problem is he doesnt actually work!We brought our truck to him in June to have the engine rebuilt. By February (month eight!), we threatened to have it towed to another mechanic. Miraculously he worked on it! At least got the engine in.We picked it up yesterday, March 2, although he STILL wasnt done! But thats it. Nine months is beyond long enough. And we have plans for a cross country trip with it in a month. If we didnt pull it out, wed never get it. And the only reason we got it was because we kept calling and finally just sat at the shop (he wasnt there, by the way!).We were originally told it would take three months. At the end of September we were told the end of October. Then early November. When wed go look at it, we could tell he wasnt working on it. Then, for two months wed hear two weeks. One of those times we called and asked what he had done on it... And there was silence on the other end. In other words, NOTHING!Our mistake was giving him money. Who knows where it went. We heard multiple conflicting stories, unlimited excuses. You name it. A couple times he admitted he didnt have the money for our job, although we almost paid for the entire job in the first three months. Then he said he always had the money for the parts.. I dont want to say he lied, but, well, he did, multiple times. Most obvious was when we asked his office assistant, Judy, if the engine was in. She said yes. We went there the next day and it was not.Id like to say if you have a year, give him a try, but there are a lot of other good mechanics in the area who are more reliable. Well be taking it to one for the final touches, because we are never going back to Mountain Valley Performance. The entire nine-month experience has been a nightmare.
Terrible place, bad to employees. Dont come here.
