Dave, the owner, provided excellent service. He explained my options for tires that he had in stock. Also, if you want a specific brand he can have it in a day. The prices were very good, and most impressive is that he knew how to do a tire pressure warning reset on my vehicle (2006 Sienna). No other providers have ever taken care of that during a tire service. I highly recommend Big O if you need tires in Poway.

These guys are great! I had a tire issue and a panel under the car had become disconnected from driving down from the bay area. They explained the issue and fixed it right away. I will definitely be back to have my car serviced in the future!

This is the only place I go to get work done for my car. Darius was extremely helpful. I got a new battery a few months ago from here and somehow the battery died last week. They replaced my battery free of charge. I also needed new rotors and Darius provided me with all the information in a timely fashion. The owner was also helpful and provided me with the information I needed. I highly recommend this location for all the car work you need done.
Went there for a nail in my truck tire. Dude at the front desk came out pulled the nail out and verified it wasn’t leaking. Super nice and super helpful and didn’t charge anything.
All the guys there are great. knowledge of products and service are top notch. even when it came to more than tires there knowledge and workmanship were great. I had my steering break and they took care of it and the quality of the work and follow up were great. will continue to have all my vehicles worked on there. good job!
The series of visits was not very good.It started when I tried to walk-in for an oil change, tire rotation, and alignment. (In a proceeding visit, I purchased a three-year free alignment check and adjustment.) I was asked to make an appointment for later in the week because they were busy. Not happy but completely understood.When I showed up for my appointment two days later, I restated the need for an oil change, rotation, and alignment. I received an estimate for an oil change. I inquired about the tire rotation and alignment but told I didnt ask for them. After we got past that miscommunication problem, I was told rotations arent done since the fronts were so bad. After we re-established the cost estimate (after a heated exchange), the service tech said it would take about an hour or so. I was called about 30 minutes later and told it would take between 30 minutes and an hour to take care of the tires and alignment. Unfortunately, I had another appointment and would need to make another appointment. The tech did let me know that given my maintenance history that I would be eligible for a prorated cost for replacement tires. This made me happy and made up for the bad feelings previously developed.I showed up for my second appointment for the new tires, rotation, and alignment. No estimate was given but I was quoted a pro-rated price for new tires plus installation and taxes. All was good until I tried to pay when the cost was higher than I expected. I asked to see a the invoice. It was then that the tech (the same tech I worked with all three times), stated it was the wrong invoice and then gave me another price for about half of what I was quoted minutes earlier. This is unacceptable.As a result, I will not be able to recommend Big O Poway in the future. Ill probably even forgo my free services in the future.Thanks for the opportunity to share my experience.

Discovered I had a completely flat tire in the middle of my day. I called the Poway Big O store and confirmed they had tires for my car in stock and was quoted a great price. I filled my tire with air and drove right over. They immediately took my car in, put on the two new tires I asked for and I was on my way super quickly. The total cost even a bit less than I expected. The whole process was so quick and easy. I will definitely be back to this shop.
John was an excellent service man. He worked with me on a problem that was done by another company. Offered me advice on how to proceed and he was spot on. I will be bringing all of our family cars to Big O in Poway.
Never did get his name but a super great guy at Big O tires just plugged a hole in my tire for free!! He told me they were about to close but that if I gave the other guy $15/20 bucks he would do it real quick. Unfortunately I didnt have any cash on me. I told him to just charge me whatever cuz I needed it fixed. A few minutes later he comes out and says the other guy is still busy, Ill just do it myself for you A short time after, he hands me the keys and says That was my good deed for the day, have a great weekend! Made my entire weekend 😃👍
Replaced a road damaged tire for me under warranty. Had to order the tire. Checked my spare for nut torque and air pressure, and advised me to drive
They were able to accommodate the tires I needed in a timely manner in short notice. John said he would have the manager review if I qualify for an adjustment for the tires I previously had on there.

Used their website to get quote for 2 tires. They called to confirm my appointment and all seemed well. Then, when I got there they couldnt find my appointment in their computer for about 15 minutes. The manager finally found it and the quoted price went up $75. I left in a hurry. Just go to the CMR Costco tire center - theyre honest.
I was in and out of there in 30 mins or less. However there was an open bay when I got there and I had an appointment. I got an oil change, tire rotation and full inspection on everything. Super happy with this place. Not the first or last time I will be getting my car serviced here. John was the one who helped me out and is very friendly.

I am active duty, and right after being stationed near by I started having issues with my commuter car. Being new to the area and not knowing anything about the area I took it to Evans. I was told it would cost $3000+ to completely rebuild my front end suspension. And then was pressured to get a store credit card to pay for the repairs. I had already told them that I only wanted what HAD to be fixed for my safety fixed and no more and was told too bad. I took it to Big O Poway for a second opinion. Not only was what I was told at Evans over exaggerated, but the prices were way out of the ball park. Big O fixed the immediate issues in a few hours and well under what Evans was trying to pull. I brought the car back later for the breaks, and found that they remembered me from my first couple visits. After some time passed the mechanic cake out to speak with me about an issue they ran into that we didn’t know about from the start. We talked it over and he was totally open with me about the ramifications of not fixing the issue vs. fixing it. He also filled me in on the price bump to fix the issue. I have been in town for over a year now and take BOTH my cars here now whenever I need anything. From concerns to general maintenance. I even brought a vehicle I was looking to buy there. I always receive AMAZING customer service and have never felt like I was being cheated or manipulated, which as a women happens a lot unfortunately. The only problem I have is that when making appointments I have a hard time being seen when I scheduled to be. But I chalk that up to them trying to make sure that everyone receives the same service I do, that everything is done competently the first time.
I used to go to a pre-franchise Big O that closed and went to this current one in Poway since they would honor previous deals (free tire rotation, etc.), but the owner and staff are not like other shops and my wife and I will still go out of our way to use their service for new work--even if an Evans is within walking distance. Highly recommend you use the Poway shop as a model for other Big Os.
Had an issue with my lug nut studs. As it turned out they can become worn and the threads weakened thereby making one unable to remove the nut. I called Big O and they got the job done on very short notice. After further inspection it was just one stud but several. Chad and Shaun did a great job getting me in and out of there on a busy Saturday so my daughter could get back home to LA. thanks guys

I first went to big o tires in temecula because I had a flat tire and my road side assistance took me there, they were rude and provided a bad experience. I live in poway so I came to this location because the temecula location didnt reset my lights and Ive been going here ever since.
Gericho was efficient and thorough. He earned my trust right away. I appreciated not having to wait as long as expected.
The team is fast, friendly, accommodating and and I felt compleatly comfortable at the shop. They were also significantly less expensive than any other shop.
This is the only big o tires location that was willing to help me out. The one on Scripps parkway literally said we will not change your air filter for an aftermarket because it will void your warranty. First of all, its my warranty and I can do whatever I want with it, second of all, it its an air filter... however this location in Poway, not only did they put it in, they did it free after about 30 seconds of work. Customer service was friendly and quick and actually has a customer comes first attitude. They appear to have gotten new ownership in recent times, if there were bad reviews in the past, they no longer are relevant reviews to the current leadership and team in place.
I went to this places with a flat tired and the person whos attend me told I didnt have any choice than buy a new tired in 100 dollars of course I just realized he was trying to get advanced of me so I left, drive another mile away to this place named discount tired and the fixed my tired for FREE so if you are in the area with the same problem go to discount tired is very close and excellent customer service.Please dont go there you have many options in the area with better quality
My car was done quicker than I thought.
First, hourly rate is more than a dealer charges, if Im going to pay $115 per hour, I will have a certified Chevrolet tech perform the work, not a guy with a cigarette hanging out of his mouth while dropping ashes on the engine. Second, I was charged 1 hour diagnosis for what took 10 minutes, diagnosis charge was not going to be applied to repair work. They wanted to charge for 3 hours labor for what my 2nd and 3rd opinion said should be less than 2 hours, they provided only the OEM part price after I requested aftermarket because I was selling the vehicle. Lastly, they threatened to have my vehicle towed if I didnt have it picked up by the end of the day. The manager was mad because I decided not to have them perform the work for those prices. Also, they wanted to charge $90 labor to change the battery. I could do it myself in 5-7 minutes, most places have little or no charge. My company has a fleet of 35 vehicles, I was going to have 6 of them serviced here. This location had the opportunity to service our fleet, now I will never return.

Overpriced and lied to me. You can fix just one brake/rotor, it’s just not advisable. I went to a brake shop and had both brakes and rotors done for slightly more than half that Big O wanted. Wouldn’t recommend.

DO NOT get an alignment here. Luckily i used a $20 off coupon and paid $70 for what would have been a $90 alignment that is only good for 6 months or 6000 miles. I thought these guys were going to be great but i was wrong. I should have taken my vehicle to Firestone where i wouldve paid $85, $5 less than big O and would have been covered for 12 months 12000 miles. it has been less than 6 months for me, but i drive my car for work and drove 11K miles. So in order to get my car realigned i wouldve have to pay them again.Same thing with their other prices for $199 you have 5 years, if you go to Firestone, for $199 you get lifetime unlimited alignment. i take full responsibility for making the mistake to take my car to Big O, only reason i did it was because firestone was super busy and i was afraid my tires would get worn out. But i should have waited and i wouldnt be in this situation having to go back to Firestone for them to realign my vehicle.If this is the kind of warranty and service you get from Big O i wouldnt trust them with any other service for my vehicle.
I use this company for all most of my fleet vehicles. Most of the vehicles I need back right away so I appreciate the quick service and very friendly customer service!

Got a flat tire and they couldnt patch it (too far on the outside), so I got a new tire. They didnt charge for the patch attempt, which was nice.

These guys were AWESOME and here is why...I was traveling with family from AZ when a check engine light came on in our car. It was mid day Saturday on Thanksgiving weekend. I had just had a terrible experience at a Big O location about 5 miles away. I called and asked the store manager if he could take a look and tell me if I had a serious problem ( I believe his name was Dave/David ) could be wrong on his name but he was the manager. Anyway he said bring it by he would get me in as quick as possible and let me know if it was anything serious. We went there, within minutes he plugged into our car told me exactly what the fault code was and why the light came on. Made me comfortable that I could continue my drive with my family back to Arizona and it would be safe and not damage my car further and require no repairs at his store. In summary this store saved me a ton of time and a lot of money with a worry free 300+ mile drive ahead. Best Big O in the area by far!
Questionable practice: Went there for oil change 3 times, using a coupon I got from Groupon. The 2nd time I was there, I also got 4 new tires, which is OK since I am used to people at various garages trying to up sell. But the last time I was there changed my impression about this place drastically: for one thing, I had to wait for 2 hours even though I got an appointment. I know they were probably short-handed that day, but they should have at least the decency to tell me about the wait time.When they did start working on my car, they showed me an air filter that looked really dirty and told me they could replace it for $34. I was hungry and in no mood to extend the service time, and told them I would take care of it myself.The next day I went out and bought a replacement filter and was surprised how differently the replacement filter looked [in dimension] and had to look up online to make sure I got the correct one. When I popped up the hood and removed the air filter, it actually looked clean. Now I wonder where the filter Tammy showed me came from.------------------------------------------------------------Updates: 6/27/13Amy called me today and pointed out that the filter she showed me was cabin air filter, not the regular air filter. So, I was wrong in questioning her integrity and I apologized for that. As a result, I also upgraded my ratings on this location.

Called around Poway trying to find some good Load E tires for my truck. They found me a set of 4 Nittos for a couple hundred less than anyone else in town and with a warranty. Fast, professional and knowledgeble. I will be returning for my other trucks as well.
Big O Tires Poway owner, David Garmo, is inept and unscrupulous. My car had difficulty starting so I took it to Big O Poway. After a diagnostic exam, David Garmo infomed me that the problem was a faulty alternator. I paid David $300 to replace the alternator but thereafter when I tried to start my car, it would not crank. Totally dead.At this point David was more interested in dealing with newly arriving customers, probably because he already had my money. Eventually a mechanic came out to my car in the parking lot and determined that the starter was bad. However, it was now closing time and David closed the shop and drove away. As my car would not start, I had to leave it in Big Os parking lot and come back to transport it to another shop the next day to replace the starter (I had no interest in giving Big O Poway any more money).Ive dealt with a number of Big O shops, and this is easily the worst owner Ive encountered.

I had them change my transmission fluid, drop the pan, new filter early last year. Ive now been back twice because I keep leaking transmission fluid! This was the first time the service was done on my car and it never leaked in 10 years! They get one more trip (wasting my time and I am trying the El Cajon store now) and if it isnt resolved I am filing a complaint with the BBB, taking it somewhere else and sending them the bill!Since then another Evans Tire had gotten all my business for new tires on 3 cars and 4 oil changes...
I dropped my car off at 10AM the lady in the front said 2 hours. It is 1pm they havent even taken my car in the shop yet and when i asked the guy who is now upfront. He said to me it will go in soon and they were backed up.They have 2 technicians in the back 1 is working.In the waiting room they have 1 fan and its facing the cashiers not the customers. I own my own business this type of service would never be tolerated. I hate how the employees dont give 2 shits for customers either way he gets paid his check and thats the mentality of the employees here they are not going to push themselves to satisfy anyone but their lazy selves. I can only promise 1 thing i will never and i mean never come here again. Discount tires is only 2 min away and so is walmart and costco so i HIGHLY recommend anywhere but here. By the way discount tires was cheaper but this place had no customers so i thought it would be faster and it wasnt. Learn from my mistakes. Costco walmar or discount tires also i think there is an evans tire nearby.
