Great experience with our first repair appointment at Poway Honda. Our service advisor, Ryan, was easy to communicate with and very accommodating. As for the car, the problem was diagnosed and repaired in one day with the repair technician staying late to finish the job as we really needed the car back. Keys were left with the sale office so we could pick up that evening after the service department closed. Again, very accommodating. AC is running great. It was really quick and easy to schedule an appointment. I came in and was received quickly. The service person addressed my problem and it was free! Im definitely coming back here knowing how much everyone cares (and also seeing how poorly it went somewhere else).The staff even went out of their way to show me a video of the fix and some problems they uncovered. Special thanks to Esmeralda who stayed after her shift a little bit to show me the videos. She was great.
I brought my car in due to a recall. The older intake gentleman was very friendly and efficient and the young man who wrote up my service was as well. They called when it was ready. Fast, efficient, great experience.The only disappointments were that I was told they would courtesy wash my car, which they didnt, and they wanted to charge me about $74 to replace my cabin filter. I replaced my cabin filter in 5 minutes with a $12 filter from Amazon. Shameless!! With that said, I bought my car from this dealership and have been in for a couple of recalls and small things. They are always wonderful.
A very reliable centre for servicing Honda vehicles. Since moving to San Diego in 2017, I have not serviced my car anywhere else but at Poway Honda.
They are very expensive but fortunately I had a service writer that applied some discounts. After the car is serviced you should talk to the service writer who should understand what was done if they spotted anything rather than just read the check marks on the paperwork. This would make the service seem much more personable like I have received with all my previous cars at Toyota.
Irene was a great service writer. She kept in touch with regard to the replacement part and contacted me right away when it arrived. I really like working with her.

Been coming here for regular maintenance service to my minivan for the past few years. Service has always been good, and costs are reasonable. That said, Im a bit disappointed that they stopped checking break pads as part of their free multipoint inspection. I rely on this inspection to know what services my vehicle needs. Now, they only check break pads if you get a tire rotation. Since the break pads are a safety issue, I probably need to find a new place to service my minivan.
I was very specific with what I was looking for. When I called Poway Honda I told my sales person (Mickey) that I was not going to pay over MSRP for the vehicle. I think is is disgusting what dealers are doing right now. Mickey told me at Poway Honda they do not gouge their customers. Having heard that, I explained to Mickey what I was looking for. Within one week Mickey had found the vehicle I wanted and a deal was made. I would highly recommend anyone that is looking for an honest and trustworthy experience to purchase their next new Honda from Poway Honda. My experience with Ryan in finance was equally impressive. Ryan did not try and use any sales strategies to get me to buy extras that I was not interested in. Ryan was very professional, explained the warranty and service contracts and when I told him I was not interested he did not try and convince me. He accepted my response and we finished the deal. I have purchased a lot of vehicles in my lifetime and this was by far my best experience.

I cannot tell you how much I appreciate Ryan and the Service Team at Poway Honda. I have never had any trouble with vehicles until recently. I had my 2020 Civic repaired at Poway Honda a few weeks ago, just for the same issue to happen again a few days ago. It was to nobody’s fault, but I initially I was frustrated and felt hopeless. When I took my car back to have it serviced again, I was an upset customer prepared to never return. But these people went ABOVE and BEYOND for me. I picked my car up this morning, and I was shown exactly what was happening, what and where the issue was, and what preventative measures were taken and that I could take myself. I had requested pictures for my own reference and they provided a ton. As a skeptic, I know that service centers can feel scammy, but I assure you this team is transparent from start to finish and want the best for you and your vehicle. I went from being an upset customer to a loyal customer from this point forward. Extra thanks again to Ryan & the Poway Honda Service Team. Appreciate you all so much!

Yesterday, I took my car to Poway Honda to be serviced. As expected, Poway Honda service department staff was very cautious with the Covid and all the staff members were also wearing masks. I had an appointment and I was checked-in within a minute or two. David is always nice and greets you with a smile and drives your car to the service area after checking in. As always, my service advisor, Marco, and technical staff at Poway Honda service department were excellent yesterday in servicing my Honda Accord and I was completely happy with their work. I requested a road test and Al was kind to do a test drive and make some recommendations. Thank you very much Al for your support yesterday! The technician also did a test drive after the service was completed. Absolutely great service! It is truly a blessing to have an excellent car service place like Poway Honda that you can trust their opinion and work. Marco is truly outstanding! He is extremely nice, friendly, helpful, knowledgeable, courteous and trust worthy. He always goes the extra mile to make my visit to Poway Honda service department a pleasant one. He always provides me with useful information on near future service recommendations and different options. Thanks a lot Marco! Went there for general service and maintenance on Sept 3rd. When i took the car back i saw notification in the car screen that key battery need to be replaced. I was surprised to see it since i just changed the battery a month back and thought some issue with battery quality. Later when i try to change the battery i saw the battery make was not the same that i had replaced. That is so cheap act and now im worried if they did same thing with any of the vehicle parts. Never going there again.
Did not have the best experience here. Paid for a service and didnt get the best result.Background: I have a 2019 civic si that was originally modified and returned to stock. Car was running fine with the exception of a check engine light.They found the car was modified and voided the warranty. This leaves the initial diagnostics cost around ~$130.Tear-Down Diagnostics: The SA recommended to do a 3 hour tear-down diagnostics to further diagnose the issue at a cost of $427. We agreed to proceed with the diagnostics in hopes that it will help resolve our issue.Initial Findings: SA then informs me that the tech confirmed that the turbo was damaged and needed to be replaced. Total cost ~$3,700Consumer Question 1: I then asked for pictures of the turbo, assuming that it was still disassembled from the tear-down. SA replies and is unable to provide pictures because the tech was able to identify the issue without a complete tear-down and that the car is fully assembled.It was hard for me to grasp that the car was reassembled knowing the possibility of replacing the turbo. Why would they do this and potentially charge extra work to disassemble those same parts?Consumer Question 2: I then asked how the determination that the turbo replacement was made without looking at the turbo and as suggested.. SA replied by stating it was due to the numbers on the flowcharts.At this point, Im asking myself why I was charged $427 for a tear-down diagnostics when they can simply look at a flowchart and determine the work needed?Something felt off and I decided to get a 2nd opinion. After much haggling, I still had to pay for the tear-down diagnostics.Outcome: I brought my car to another local dealership and they suggested I pay for a tear-down diagnostics also. They quickly determined that my wastegate assembly was not aligned and was able to fix my issue with just the cost of a tear-down diagnostics. 2,000 miles later, no check engine light.I accept responsibility in the fact that I originally modified my car. Its hard for me to accept that a dealership, who knows that a warranty is voided, would attempt to mark up the cost of work to capitalize on a consumer. Additionally, who knows if they would have done a turbo replacement if I chose to do the work with them.Glad the issue is resolved!Lessons learned:- dont modify your car- most importantly, dont bring your car to Poway honda

8/16/21 updateI changed my review from 1 start back to 4 based on the excellent follow up on customers service they gave me after my initial review.I posted the review on a Friday night and by Monday and general manager of the service dept called my cell phone directly, apologized, and wanted to make things right. Very professional, explained some internal details and very much back to my expectation and levels of service I have received in the past. They compensated me for the diagnostic and I was extremely impressed by his proactive reaching out. I will be going back here.We all make mistakes but its about how we react to them and learn and deal with them and Poway Honda Service dept could not have reacted better. Thank youI have used Honda Poway service dept for over 10 years on 3 different honda odysseys and always been extremely happy with there service. I have even bought 2 Honda odysseys from them. The latest being a 2017 with 65k miles on it.Friday Aug 6th, 2021 unfortunately changed my experience to being significantly disappointed.Wanted to charge me $450+ for parts and labor of 1 engine coil replacement. I did it when I got home with an $50 autozone part in less than 20 mnutes!!!!A few points:Went in to check engine light flashing (already knew it was a misfire on engine cylinder 3 from using OBDC monitor myself)The service person I got was newer with limited experience it seemed and not very knowledgeable (I had always dealt with Al who is top notch).They diagnosed the same issue of cylinder 3 but could not get the coil ring part for days or maybe weeks.They wanted to charge me $450+ to put in a $140 part (that they didnt have). When asked why so much service person said there was a lot of labor to move things around to get the coil out and in (I did it myself in 5 minutes once I got home!!)To add to this I ended up figuring out it was cylinder 2 that was bad and not 3 (replaced coil in cylinder 3 then got code for 2 so fixed 2 with the old coil from cylinder 3 and all good again with car). So they didnt even spend much amount of time to figure out it was really cylinder 2 and not 3 coil!!And they still charges me the $100 or so for the diqgnosticI spent almost 4 hours there on a Friday afternoon.Granted they were crazy busy but 4 hours for diagnostic with an appointment seemed excessive also.I am disappointed as its so hard to find a good dealer/independent mechanic shop so now I may have to look for another especially since I am past the 60k engine/powertrain warranty anyway.Would love to find a way to build my confidence back with Honda poway...

It is better than other Honda Service centers, it is just that all of reps at the service center are busy and always in rush to get someone in, and not ready to listen or talk.
There can be a bit of a wait on Saturdays but the staff is very friendly and understanding. They do good work. Thank you Al!

Bought new CRV in March and wanted it checked out prior to long road trip .They took car of me the same day I brought it in even though my appointment was for the next day.
I received very good business service so I decided to buy the car.
I was told that I would be charged for an item that should have been covered by our warranty.
Always getting more than a service.
Customer service is what it takes it all at the end of the day. I reached out to two authorized Honda service at San diego area, poway one was soo welcoming and the person who took care of my vehicle was so helpful without any kinda prejudice attitude. The other centers i contacted doesn’t show any interest in getting new customers rather they are like driving people away. Kudos to the poway team. Really liked ur service. Keep it up

The guys and ladies there were extremely friendly my dad tagged along with me while I got my oil changed on my 2020 Si and forgot to bring his mask I cant remember the guys name but he was nice enough to give my dad a mask for free. Ill definitely comeback to this service center again.

Got letter from Honda for software update to pass SMOG but after software update now they made my car not eligible for SOMG. asking money to fix after messing all. Harassing from past 1 month and not registering complaint. very unprofessional and felt cheated.
These guys take such great care of their customers - even after hours (when it might not be ideal). Andrew goes above and beyond each time I stop by / bring my car in. Andrea, Al - also extremely helpful. The guys who replaced my keys AND taught me a few things about taking care of keys in general. Overall - great customer service at Poway Honda!

9 cars in the appt line in front of me. I was there early and they didn’t even get to signing me in until almost 20 minutes after my appointment time. waiting room “Kids area” is a bin with random parts to old toys. They took 2.5 hours to change my oil.

Service department needs an overhaul. Ive had repeated instances as frequently as Jan of 2020, where I have an appt and sit in line for 45+ minutes waiting for a rep. This last time, I called and told them my problem, drove down 30 minutes and after waiting an additional 30 minutes after my scheduled appt time, was told they couldnt do my type of repair on a Friday, so to drive back there on Tuesday. Its totally bush league.
