Was a decent experience had not been there in a while until recently. They have a huge selection of books on multiple floors. They also have a coffee shop. They sell music as well unfortunately however it seems they have blocked off a big back section of the store with shelves which appears to have been where more music or possibly instruments were sold. They also have a various reading spots doted across the store. I wouldnt say its as quiet as a library but close enough for reading. If you are reading however do be fair and purchase the book before reading to far into it.
Quiet, relaxing and spacious. A lovely experience to enjoy books, coffee and some company. Deep sigh. ;)
Great cafe. Friendly staff. Well stocked. Worth visiting just to browse. Plenty of parking.
Theres nothing like holding a copy of a book in your hands! This place has wall to wall covered in books! There is only one or so locations left in the city. Sadly all the other locations have closed. Its a shame because I would love to spend hours finding good books to read. This location is beautiful. Has two floors and a bit of everything for everyone! The staff is super friendly and very helpful!
Great garden, home renovations, and travel selection of magazines. Everyone and their relatives are writing Political tell all books. There is much truth in the ones that give background knowledge of an ethical, legal, political and medical profession.
Recently returned book with random page order and duplicate pages. Exchanged w/o receipt- purchased as a Christmas gift late last year. Staff member thumbed threw new book in front of me to check page order. Left with a correct book with EXCELLENT service. B&N practices a forgotten service, The customer is always right .
Its exactly as what youd think. Its a bookstore with movies, music, toys, games, food, drinks, cups, and many more things. The elevator has issues sometimes which only leaves you the escalator. Things here range from $15 for most items. You might might find some items that are below $15; Such as CDs. The service is friendly almost like a family. The staff is warm and polite, and definitely would recommend stopping by for a book or who knows what.
Just love having a great place for excellent choices in books, magazines and many novelty items, all under one roof. Wonderful, courteous and knowledgeable staff can help with plenty of selections for all ages of reader. Its also nice having a Starbucks inside the store too! Social distancing is enforced and masks are required. Safe and happy.
Great place I hang out for hours looking previewing books always find a new read
Needs better customer service. The first older woman was very nice. But the register personnel was not so nice. I bought a bible.
Always a great place to hang!!4 stars because a customer touched my quiche, not Star bucks fault, kinda funny really, so 5 stars than!!
Staff is always helpful. Selection is great with two floors worth of stuff. Starbucks inside is always awesome and staff there is also helpful. Its a favorite of my partner and I to visit and browse.
I dont know what happened. This is the first time since the pandemic started that I had returned to B&N. Things have changed. The breakfast arent nearly as good as a year and a half ago. Things are smaller and harder to eat. It also doesnt help that the barista put my breakfast in front of a couple of older, unmasked, women who were coughing. I will probably go to the local diner for breakfast from on It.
Very clean and organized store. The staff checked in to see if I needed help but didnt make me feel harassed.
This is the best place in the world, to buy books, all sorts of books .And the staff, they are always kind and very nice..
Nice place two floors and a Starbucks but no employees on the second floor all on the bottom
I love this store and staff are very helpful and friendly.
Huge store. Two levels. Very open. Wide variety of books, gifts, stationary and music. Theres also a small cafe inside. I spent more than 2 hours checking it out.
Huge place..lots of books.. and mini Starbucks inside...looks kool.👍
They used to be nice to customers. Guess success got to their head. They REALLY dont give a @#!@ if you buy or not.
Nice place. Beautiful music section lay out.
Amazing design! So much wonder for my small human! Very friendly staff.
The workers here are really helpful whether its getting a book they dont have in stock or helping you find something that fits best for you. Its always nice and quiet if you are looking for a space to sit, and get work done. I enjoy being a member of B&N, and living close to this Poughkeepsie Location.
I really love it they take care me right away with respect and patients.thanks for your time and effort.
Large inventory, plenty of safe accessible parking, were easily able to socially distance
This is a nice location. They have a great selection and a wide variety. The staff is very polite and helpful There was a book I wanted that wasnt in store but they ordered it for me. I picked it up a week later. No issues here.
Great time . Book stores are unfortunately going out but b n n is holding it down for us.
I love going to Barnes & Nobles. I love reading manga with my boo so its really good to go walk around find out about new mangas
Honestly I dont know how this place is still in business. Books are great. But lets be honest theyre stuck in their own pyradime. If they stick with We sell book only motto theyll be gone. Look at the biggest book seller, theyre now the biggest online retail giant ever. You cant sustain a profitable company selling books alone with this huge retail footprint and having 15% of the store taken up by a coffee shop thats empty 85% of the time. Great idea. Too much wasted space with their Starbucks venture. So they couldnt make a great go of the Starbucks and Books venture. So what do you do. You open one of the toughest businesses in the world, restaurants. The B&N Kitchen ??? While the food is getting good reviews how long can that last. People in general have a short memory with restaurants unless theyre always changing things up.They better wise up soon or theyll be a huge fire sale and available real estate.Does anyone remember Blockbuster ? 4 years before they went under they were offered Netflix for $30 Million and turned it down because they were making $650 Million per year in, sit down, video cassette late fees alone. Please come out of this pyradime successfully, books still rock.
Knowledgeable and friendly staff. Very helpful. Love new books.
Great store with nice customer service. Will gladly be returning.
Wonderful store. Too bad that the management is not able to understand financial management.
Great place to grab a book and drink a coffee. Sadly, seating’s limited to 30 minutes due to Covid, but I appreciate they care enough to take precautions. Definitely my number one place😊
Place is huge! Absolutely amazing. Good snacks and tons of projects and of course books
Looks like they are re stocking.. good magazine selection though
Very relaxing atmosphere. Love it here.
Great place to relax or do stuff on line read a book and much more
Got pocket US Constitutions. Sales person said now out of print. If that is true-God help us all.
One of my complete and favorite book store.
Newer Barnes and Noble with escalators to upper floor. Still has a music section unlike others. Cafe is nice and seating area is open and distanced per covid rules. Employees have done everything from returns, to finding books in stock from the back of the store for me if they werent on the shelf. Great service and selection.
Gotta love books!
Friendly and knowledgeable staff; clean and organized setup, follows state mandated covid rules & nice Starbucks cafe
Awesome atmosphere, very cool set up.
The store wasnt crowded at all I walked in and asked the sales clerk where I could find what I needed she pointed me to that direction and I was in and out of the store within 10 minutes if that
One of the few Barnes & Noble stores thats remaining open at least for now. It is a really big space with lots and lots of stock and very few staff members.
Great! Cafe open, with rules. Store layout updated for safety. Lots of sales. So much more pleasant than the Danbury store (so we spent a lot more ofc)
Always nice to wander the shelves of books and grab a coffee
You have to be a Democrat to enjoy shopping in the store!
This store is amazing. I love books.
Big store. Good selection. Helpful staff. Good toy section too.
Nice atmosphere habe what your looking for people are nice
Best B&N Ive been to. Staff is exceptional and always goes above and beyond.
Social distancing being followed. Love the clearance section!
Great place. My whole family loves this place. There so helpful here and really want to help you out.Lots of great books and kids get to read from an actual book and not an iPad or Kindle.Lots of restaurants on the area.
💐Wonderful😊Place👍To😁Visit
Good place to unwind and read!
Great staff and great selection
Great to see this terrific book store still thriving. They have an enormous selection of books in every category and a friendly helpful staff ready to help you find the one youre looking for. There is also a little Starbucks corner on the ground floor with plenty of seating so you can find your book and sip a cup while you get right into a good read.
Their Cafe (Starbucks) is a great place to sit and enjoy your coffee while you read or work on your computer. They always keep their books organized and easy to find. Plus, their discount books - which has the best selection - is right in the front of the store!
They had the Nook ready and waiting for me when I arrived.
I love it here. I can’t help but want to spend an exorbitant amount of time looking through their books and buying a new one even with 5 others waiting to be read. I think we are all aware you can buy a lot of the same books cheaper online, but there’s something comforting about going to Barnes and Noble.
It was well organized, what I wanted was in stock, and the cashier was very helpful. He was even very pleasant.
The store was clean and the people were helpful. It was crowded when I went in
All seemed well!
My local favorite Bookstore
Great locationBooks and Magazines as part for the courseChairs removed for social distancing, eliminating the cozy hangout timesStill a good spot to go.
Very helpful if you know what you like. Great place to browse or buy
We love coming to B&N. Sometimes it’s an adventure when weather is bad or we have nothing to do. We can ya g out, enjoy a coffee and snack and find new things to read. It’s nice to find something we wouldn’t go to look for but end up finding.
I LOVE BOOKS! I could live in Barnes & Noble
Great customer service! I got the vinyl i needed!
I like this store a lot. So cozy, quiet and relaxing. Even if you dont care for reading theres other things to enjoy. Music, puzzles, games, journals and food! Small Starbucks inside. I dont drink coffee but I love goodies and they have several. I miss the big comfy chairs they used to have to plop in to chill and flip thru a magazine. There are bathrooms and an elevator for wheelchair accessibility. You can buy a membership card for discounts. There is usually a small shelf or two out front with discounted books. $5-$10. Try it! Youll like it.
Very big selection, great store and staff
This remains as one of the few local book stores even though it is a chain. Layout has changed, and all seating in the cafe is gone. Less variety than pre covid but still found what I wanted.
Still a nice space
First time ever, felt store wasnt as always. Inventory seemed less.
Super rude staff
Were in phase four guys. Its time to let me sit inside and enjoy a coffee.
Great selection
Clerks are knowledgeable and courteous. Have tons of stock. If you want something they dont have, they will order it for you! Nice!
Unlike other B&N stores this store is mainly books, not toys. The employees are friendly and very helpful with suggestions without pressuring you to buy. Wish my local B&N was like this store, Id buy more books from them.
Its a bit harder to get to the store but its a decent branch of B&N. We bring our kids to it and they like the kids areas. Theyre into picking out their own books and we like it because it lessens the screen time.
Wonderful place to visit. Staff is over the top helpful. This is why we need to support real stores and not shop online.
I LOVE THEIR TOASTED BAGEL WITH CREAM CHEESE. The tazo tea is great also. The staff is also really nice.
Better selection of philosophy and religion books. Keep the Christian books coming. We would love to see more local writers and writers from the archdiocese too.
Jared in the Music dept. was incredibly friendly and helpful. They didnt have the Beach House album I was looking for but he was kind enough to chat music with me and recommend some similar artists. The rest of the store was organized and everything you could hope a B&N to be.
Manager is mean. Prices are high. Go to the local library instead
Had a chocolate chip cookie and a large 😋 house coffee to warm up when I was campaigning for my favorite presidential candidate, while my girlfriend went to Heaven browsing through their books. They have something for everyone!
Love Barnes and Noble. This one is your typical one, but it has two floors and the Starbucks sells Cheesecake Factory items. Employee at the service desk was really helpful with trying to figure out which tablet/e-reader would be good for me, and I got to see her interact with other customers and she was just as helpful. I will say that the display devices were very damaged, and not a good indication of what youd be buying.
The only reason I dont give these guys five stars is because of the selection of books that I look for has dwindled, the staff that I worked with they have been great. The layout of the store also has changed in certain areas that really does not invite you to purchase from those areas.
Great Barnes and Nobles is great here but the service at the cafe is horrific. I was there on 5/5 at 1230pm and there was five servers behind the counter and none were doing anything. I waited a good 20 minutes as I watched them walk in and out and around talking amongst themselves until they realized no one was preparing order and begun to prepare it. It was just a bad experience overall and when there is a Starbucks right down the street you’re better off getting coffee there then going to Barnes and nobles after.
I love this store! They not only have books, but they have awesome desserts too! I also found a couple of great gift ideas that were candles and one was this really cool puzzle, a 3D puzzle. I guess you could say something for everyone.
Extremely good for the mind. I always find exactly what I am looking for. My current reading is hidden treasures of the Hudson valley by Mr Anthony musio.
Books will always be the best thing in life
Starbucks and public restroom. Hand in hand, lol.
