Since they remove poor reviews this may or may not be posted. Allens Wayside has deceitful policies where even their errors need not be corrected due to no return policy. While assuring me the color and style duplicated my prior Jordans receipt so I could match an existing piece of furniture, they entered the wrong code so there was no match. All documentation was presented but Lynelle refused my complaint as false, and refused me contact with owner. I was a prior customer there but never again.

I recently bought one of Allen Waysides Stressless Chairs. They have an excellent selection of this brand along with many colors and several different types of leather. However the selection was so fantastic that I could not make up my mind on which color or leather to go with. Thank God for Tinas help. She not only helped me tremendously in the store with her knowledge and patience, but she also came over my house on her own time to help me by looking at the room in which it would go. She guided me with the colors and the leather and I am so grateful. I LOVE MY CHAIR!! Thank you Tina!!

My wife, Mary, and I went to Allens Wayside Furniture looking for a smaller size sofa. Tina was great, showing all that were available with no pressure. Her recommendation was not the most expensive, but it was the best value and just what we needed. The sofa was delivered 2 days later to East Kingston by the best two young deliverymen we have ever had. They went out of their way to do everything they could to make the delivery. They were polite and very respectful of our property. They were very professional uncovering and setting up the sofa.

Tina in sales was funny, patient and relatable and would absolutely recommend her as a sales rep. As for the woman in finance she was so incredibly abrasive and rude. We explained that we were able to get a slightly better deal somewhere else, rather than using her time and explaining why they’d be better for slightly more money she rashly accused me and another salesman of being deceitful saying there no way it could be true. As we had enough of her barking at us we tried to leave and get a print out of the quote to see the breakdown, she quickly said the prices are online you can just look there. Long story short I went back to the national chain, saved 300$ and got better financing terms. Terrible experience and she threw away a good sale for the business and Tina.

Tina was such a pleasure to work with that after looking at several other local and online stores we decided to go back. She was super patient with us while we changed our minds repeatedly, helped guide us through that process, but not pushy. I was in need of a couch unfortunately during this pandemic shut down. I had previously purchased a couple big pieces of furniture from here about 4 years ago and had a great experience so I tried again. I looked online knowing the store was technically closed. When I inquired about a certain couch I was contacted quickly and told I could take a virtual tour of the store or come in by appointment. I opted for the appointment so I could feel the couch in person, very important. Doug gave me multiple options for the days and times that worked for me. It was a great experience and Doug was very helpful but let me also have time to explore the inventory. I made a follow up appointment to purchase and pick out fabric just as easy as the first time. I would continue giving my business to Allen Wayside. Its a no hassle experience with a great friendly touch. And their furniture is some of the best quality for the price that I have found in the area.

Can’t begin to say how amazing the how process was! Bill was absolutely fantastic and really took the time to listen and help us find the furniture we were looking for. And not only that but when the dresser was delivered to the store it had to be reordered because it was broken, and they were so kind and helpful. Even the delivery crew was fantastic! My boyfriend and I purchased a new bed from Allen Wayside back in December and couldnt have asked for a better experience! The sales person we worked with was very knowledgeable and took her time helping us find the bed that would work best for us, while making sure we got the best price as well. We purchased a recliner from the Portsmouth NH store. We did sit in the recliner in the showroom and it seemed comfortable. The same day we received the recliner we decided we did not want it. We kept trying it out and it was very uncomfortable. Something kept sticking in our lower back when we sat in it and reclined. We called the salesperson the next day and told her the problem. She said all sales were final and that there was nothing they could do. She did not tell us when we purchased the recliner that all sales were final. She said the final sale policy was on our receipt. We did not get the receipt until after we paid for the recliner. At no time during our conversation with the salesperson did she tell us that all sales are final. Had we known that all sales were final we would not have made a purchase. We will never purchase from Allen Wayside Furniture again. Their way of helping us was to say that we had to keep the terrible recliner with something sticking out of it and that they would help us purchase another one!!! Really. Terrible customer service. Terrible policy. Very unhelpful salesperson.

I went into Allen Wayside and was amazed at all of the furniture they have. From the outside of the store it was deceiving but as soon as I went in, the options were endless. The sales associate I had was very sweet, she was attentive and listened to me. She did not overwhelm me or stress me out at all. I have bought furniture at Allens Wayside in Portsmouth in the past and my experiences have been OK. Yesterday, however, I just decided to pop in and check to see if they had rocking chair cushions. While they didnt, I did decide to look at recliners. I have bough several that just werent comfortable. Yesterday I tried many and was thinking I was unsuccessful again.. Jessica, my saleswoman, had been watching, listening to me and hearing what I was looking for in a recliner. She suggested I try two more... ones that I would never have tried on my own....They were perfect! I chose the one that was so comfortable I hated to leave it! While Allens Furniture Store was okay, it was Jessicas talent for listening to assess her customers and their needs, her expertise in being able to explain the different products and suggestions in fabric and delivery option. Jessica added that special caring in knowing not only the product but the customer. Something that many stores dont offer. Allens Wayside is fortunate to have such an employee representing them. Two recent purchases were positive with appropriate support from sales staff, easy delivery scheduling and satisfaction with the products. Delivery personnel Nate and Mike were polite and very careful placing our items where we requested. Store policies are clearly stated/posted, and were clarified when we were placing our first order.Our first item arrived early and was delivered and set up a few days later. The other items were a pair and Portsmouth only had one. Portsmouth staff found a second one at another location and delivered them together within the week of purchase. The salesperson even checked the lot number to confirm that the items would be a true matched set for both upholstery and base stain color. We have had positive experiences at this location throughout the purchase and delivery process.

Worst furniture store I’ve ever been to. I ordered something a while ago, never even received the item. When I wanted to get my money back, they gave me the run around. After trying for months to get my money back I finally gave up because it would have cost more for a lawyer than what they owed me. So they ended up getting $120 of free money.. I would never recommend this store to anyone!! There’s a reason they don’t have good reviews.. Buyers beware and be careful

Called them to see if they could do anything. Nothing. Ive had issues before with other furniture stores and theyve bent over backwards for us to make sure we were happy. I waited over 5 weeks for delivery while being constantly reminded of this tardiness through the sensory overload that is their advertising.When the expensive furniture came on the delivery date the divers said they wouldnt bring it into my mansion. Update -----About 6 years ago I bought a custom FlexSteel recliner for $1300. Within a year the leather started deteriorating on the armrests with signs of distress on the seat. I brought this (with photos) to the attention of the store who responded it was not a defect but most likely the body oil from the arm of the person using the chair (at one years use). I returned the next year with more photos showing significant deterioration on armrest/sides and seat. I was now out of warranty, Allans said they can not fight the big furniture stores as they will not sell to them, FLEXSTEEL says I must go through the store I purchased the chair from. At year two, I was forced to start using duct tape to cover part of the armrests. Now the chair armrest, full seat and partial back is covered with duct tape. Neither Allans nor FlesSteel were responsive. *Insult to injury - the process weighted on me with fault by both.

Terrible customer support after purchase. Bought a sectional and was told I would have 4 pillows, they only delivered 3. Wanted two with pattern, and two plain. The invoice had a line for each material and it didnt have the number of units but both lines where stated as PILLOWS, yes, thats plural - meaning 2! I would have been fine if of the 3 pillows, 2 of them were patterned (the pattern ties into the other colors of my room). EVEN THOUGH THEY MISINFORMED ME. They told me I would have to buy the other one patterned one. They are blaming the manufacturer not taking ownership of their error. Have argued on the phone to no avail. I WILL NEVER STEP FOOT IN THE STORE AGAIN. Besides that, the workmanship on the sectional is poor, even though I bought from their supposed better quality room.

We bought supposedly an expensive, quality couch along with several other pieces of furniture when we moved here...spending about $14,000 at allens over a few weeks and being happy to shop locally. After only three years, the couchs frame snapped in the front making it collapse in the middle and touch the floor. it was made of cheap ikea laminate product--we were told it was a steel frame that would last for many years...called and went in with pictures and receipts.... no help.....no apology...no discount on a new couch....only an offer for us to pay $200 to have someone come look at it... its beyond repair and we need a new couch... definitely going elsewhere.

STAY CLEAR!!! Our experience was good at first with the sales person. We found a unique item and he convinced us to put money down to hold the item while we checked to see if it would fit in our home. When we determined that it wouldnt work and called to inform him of that, he told us that we had purchased the item and there are no refunds. I have spoken with the owner, Doug, several times about just getting a store credit. Doug acknowledged that he would until we tried to collect on this, then there were multiple hoops to go through and I never received the promised emails from them. Numerous unreturned phone calls from them and no responses to my emails. Needless to say they still have our deposit and we have not received any goods for our deposit. DO NOT TRUST WHAT THEY TELL YOU!!!

I bought a sofa and a fabric/stain warranty. The fabric has worn horribly and the warranty wont cover it and warranty didnt cover it. I wish the little fabric swatches indicated dry clean only and/or that the sales person advised me of such. The sofa was way too expensive to look as bad as it does with very minimal use and only 1 year old. UPDATE: I pursued the issue further and with the assistance of the sales associate at AWF I was able to get the problem covered by the warranty. The issue was more with the warranty VS Allen so just be sure you know how the warranty/protection contract works!

My newly sanded floor was damaged by Allen Wayside employees and when we complained we were called liars and accused of damaging the floor ourselves.We purchased an Ashley Vista chocolate sectional sofa from Allen Wayside Furniture Conway NH for our vacation home on October 3rd 2013.We paid in full by credit card including the extra delivery charge ($1,267). Delivery was arranged for the next available delivery slot October 12th 2013.The delivery team arrived as agreed in the morning. We left the delivery crew to assemble the sectional. They asked if we were happy with the placement of the sectional we said we were. When they had gone we vacuumed the sofa (as recommended by the manufacturer) to remove any residual factory dust. It was then that we discovered that our newly sanded living room floor had a large gouge in it (the delivery team had placed the sofa so that it was just covered).We immediately informed the store. The manager ***** ****** refused to discuss it until he had spoken to his delivery team.Mr. ****** rang back later that afternoon (October 12th) and said that his delivery people had denied any knowledge of damaging our floor and had not placed the sofa so that the damage could not be seen. Mr. ****** accused us of damaging our own floor! He called my wife a liar and said that we could have damaged the floor by sitting on the sofa! His attitude was extremely defensive and aggressive. He said he was used to people making complaints about damage caused to rooms that he and his employees had never even entered. At the end of the conversation my wife was in tears.His employees did enter our living room and the damage which is now on my floor was not there before they arrived and was not caused after they left.Mr. ****** very reluctantly agreed that if I got a price from my flooring contractor to repair the floor he would consider making us an offer; this was after my wife told him we had a whole house to furnish for which we would not be using his store.Unfortunately our flooring contractor is a friend of one of the employees at Allen Wayside in Conway and has unwilling to give us an estimate for repairing the damage as he knows the employee will lose her commission on the sofa!We are not from the US, we live in the UK. This home represents 10 years of saving and dreaming of buying a vacation home in the valley we have come to love. This sofa represented the first major purchase for our new home and to be treated so appallingly came as a big shock. We contacted Allen Wayside Customer service my email but they have ignored us.We thought that American customer service was admired the world over, we would not be treated this badly in the UK where customer service is renowned for being poor! -

When I bought my couch there they told me had a warranty. After two years the couch started falling apart. I call to have it repaired. And I was told I somehow managed to buy it without a warranty.I’ll make sure to Buy my furniture somewhere else, and tell all my friends and family in my experience.

As I was looking at a couch, I asked about a delivery charge and disposal of old furniture. was told yes a delivery charge, no disposal fee for old. I decide to purchase, and at check out was told there was a disposal fee. I said that I was told that there would not be one, and the salesperson that I had spoken to originally said he never said that. I get cranky( I dont care about the fee, it was the outright lie) but I purchased it anyway. Left the store, but decided I did not want to do business with them after all, and called to cancel the order within 2 hours after purchase, and which was not to be delivered for another week. Left 2 voicemails as they do not answer the phone. finally Bill calls and says I clearly signed the invoice which has one line that states no refunds or exchanges. normal print, nothing to stand out or highlight the message. He is absolutely correct I did sign it, as I was focused on the other details. He said it was a clearance sale, however there is not one sign in the store, not one mention on the price tag, nor is there any mention of this on the multiple radio ads touting the 50 years in business sale, and the 2 sales people, one of which was the owner never mention that all sales final. As a matter of fact I could even special order the couch if I wanted. So I ask Bill, if he was a consumer and came into his store, or any store, and there was no mention of a clearance, all sales final sale, no clearance price in the price tag and NO mention by 2 different sales people, and no mention on the hundreds of radio ad runs, that that would not be misleading, and he says, he always reads what he signs. He would not even acknowledge the lack of public information. So, I have not taken, nor will I take delivery as I refuse to have anything at all in my house from these unethical people> yes I signed the invoice, so I learned a $1400 lesson.

Dont ever buy from this business. My mother who is 72 and who has lived in the Seacoast community for 43 years bought a $1600 chair from the Portsmouth store. Mind you, she had already bought on of these chairs from this store a year before, loved it, and was going back to buy another. She ordered it on Aug 12th, went home realized she ordered wrong color, went back the 13th ONE DAY LATER to explain and ask to have the order halted. The owner told her no he would not do that and there were no refunds, she asked for the name of the company that builds the chairs so she could call direct and he refused to give her that information. He then told her he would credit her some money on her credit card and hold on to $200 and she had to come back by Oct to buy the chair. He said that was his final and only offer and that if she didnt like it she can take the paperwork and leave. How on earth does a business in that community stay open with that type of unethical practice. To the Owner...William Abrams, my mother WAS your customer, she had bought that chair once and loved it and was coming back again to buy another...is that $200 really worth your reputation? My mother found the distributer online, called them and they told her they had not even received the order and that He, William the owner of Allan Wayside Furniture could cancel that order anytime. I have since called the head of consumer protection at the Attorney Generals office to place a formal complaint. I can tell you that my mom is loved in the seacoast community and has shared this story with countless numbers of friends and neighbors and i can assure you that He will lose customers do to that experience. Was it worth it William? To be a bully to a 72yr old woman? Please please do not do business with this company.

Worst costomer service Barbara yells at you and says she can tell at customers if she wants they do not stand by there products at all they retake forever getting back to you only one day out of the week they are available to come to your houseMy couch is falling apart only a year old my table is also crappy made they dont want to help at allIve been dealing with them since they one took a tear for them to visit and fix couch only not to have the couch fixed at all Barbara said not my problem where done go through insurance

Was told 3-5 weeks for delivery, its been 8 weeks and they are finally coming. Now they tell me they can only deliver Wed, Fri, or Sat. Horrible policy and their selection isnt anything special.
