The smell of freshly cooked bacon wafting out through the open front door drew me in off the street and the BLT sandwich didn’t disappoint. They have all the typical convenience store items bike beer and snacks but add a variety of different freshly made sandwiches plus I believe a daily specialty item provides plenty to choose from. I was completely satisfied.

Great place to get a sandwich either for breakfast or lunch. John, the owner, has prepared various meals that you can grab if you need a meal. Middle Street has stock of many beers to choose. Great place to get a cheap coffee that is locally roasted there(1.50). If you need a coffee grab a breakfast sandwich as well.

Rude every time I go in, and everything is over priced beyond convenience charge. Rude even when I have my well behaved young child with me. It’s a shame because this location is so convenient, but when you’re waiting 10 minutes for someone to notice you at the counter so you can buy something then it’s not even convenient at all.👎

Always check expiration dates, the sole reason I wont getting anything but beer here

I recently visited this place expecting it to be like always, not great but kind of good, but I was extremely pleasantly surprised to see the new layout and the person at the cash register was so nice! He wasn’t shifty or mean at all! He was giving me cool Dad vibes! He was one of the nicest cash register people that I’ve seen in a long time!

Best eggplant parm I ever had. And it sure made dinner at home a breeze.The meatballs are awesome and so is the vegetable lasagna. Ill be back for more and to try their other offerings.

These guys have done a lot with this place over the years. Its a quick stop, and although they do sell sandwiches they arent a sandwich shop. The owners are the same people working the counter. They will answer your questions and get you what you need. Its best to go here for chips, candy, beer and wine.

John has taken over & offers great sandwiches as well as marinated steak tip & chicken wings, homemade meatloaf, meatballs & salads to take home. Hes planning to offer some fresh produce & bakery items. Wings are yummy!

I don’t know how a store can mess everything up as badly as this one. I live across the street and hadn’t been in for at least a year. Past experience with old ownership; go in for a BLT, dude working register gets up and grabs bread, no hand washing, yeah I’ll pass and last time I went in. Sign saying new ownership so I’ll see what’s up. Prepared food 3 weeks old. Transitional, we’ll see. Just now needed some sour cream so went for some. “Dairy section” next to prepared food so checking out dates while looking for SC. STILL 3 week old food, no SC. Ask owner about SC and he pulls out a tub from behind the counter and makes sure unopened, I buy. Get home and go to use check expiration Nov 18, 2018. So you were going to serve this up to customers?! I don’t write reviews, this isn’t me being petty. This store also sells “premium” steaks and deli meat. If you’re selling month old sour cream how’s your meat? Hard pass on EVER going into this store again

New management, 10/10 amazing but a little pricey bc it’s portsmouth

The people are nice enough. I didnt like how the cooler doors said $8.99 for a six pack of beer and one of the tellers would always charge $9.99. I finally mentioned it when being overcharged and the next day the advertised prices were gone. no stars for you

Avoid this place if youre looking for a sandwich or for that matter any food....-Very slow service ( only customer there at the time)-Out of more than half of the menu.- Untrained staff- Sandwich was absolutely terrible and inedible.

Cashier was very friendly but prices seemed a little high
