I went in there not expecting to buy a vehicle. My sales rep Erich hardt was very helpful and worked with me to help me get what I wanted and needed all in one. The sales manager Mike worked hard to help me land on my payment and then the finance manager Angelica not only went the extra mile, she was able to help get me a lower rate and bundle in some extended warranties and dropped my payment a month. We traded in our 2014 Nissan Frontier for a 2019 Toyota Tacoma. Within 2 hours of the test drive, we were on our way home. Our sales representative was knowledgeable and pleasant to talk with. We were very pleased with the experience, however, this is what set them above in my book. The bank who had the title on my Nissan, accidentally paid off the wrong loan, and it appeared as if we would have to make payments on both vehicles until it was sorted out. We called Portsmouth Chevrolet and spoke to Angelica, who was very helpful in getting it straightened out. We ended up running over to the dealership on our lunch to speak with her. She spoke with the manager, and relayed to us it would be taken care of that day. Within an hour, the Nissan loan was paid in full. Even though it was the banks error, Portsmouth Chevrolet went to the plate and dealt with it, making both of very happy. Thank you!@

My experience is usually good at Portsmouth Chevrolet. All I needed was an oil change. I mentioned that there were spots of oil on my driveway so could they check to see whether there was a leak. They said l would be charged $150 for a diagnostic charge!!! Why would l need a diagnostic test when l had already seen several spots of oil on my driveway? I declined that offer since l am trying to live on social security and must be mindful of expenses. I was also told that l needed two other maintainance procedures which my husband researched and said were not necessary.

With a last minute car issue while I was out of state on vacation I called every local Chevrolet dealership in hopes of trying to get in before I had to leave my vacation rental the next day. Of course there was no availability anywhere. Portsmouth Chevrolet heard the worry and stress in my voice and although originally had said they had no room, called me back and said to come down and they would get me in.Not only did they get my car in, but they shuttled myself and my grandkids to a local mall so we could do some shopping while the car was being looked at. To my pleasant surprise it was under 4 hours and we were good to go!I couldn’t speak more positively about an experience with a Chevrolet dealer.THANK YOU!!

Ive bought 3 new trucks from this place, each one had a bad transmission. On the third truck a 16 silverado instead of trading it in i had them replace the transmission. Now the replacement transmission went, it still under the gm 3year 100000 mile warranty but the service department at portsmouth chevy will not warranty it. Ive had multiple problems with this service department over the years. I definitely would urge people to stay away from this dealership. Ive had no issues with the sales department but service after has been terrible!

Although, Im completely discussed that my 21 Silverado truck with the 5.3 had a lifter failure and bent push rods @ 4k miles, Dorothy Pelletier was extremely helpful getting my son and I back on the road in a short period of time. Recently my wife took the 2019 Equinox lease in to have the tires looked at as the wear was not consistent with a vehicle that has 17k on it and has not missed a maintenance check. It appears the tires are not recalled, however GM is aware of the “premature wearing”problem and we had to pay an additional $400 for replacements on top of the additional extended warranty we pay monthly. I’m concerned that the Equinox was allowed to leave the dealership a few months ago after the last tire rotation in a condition that was deemed unsafe. I hope other customers haven’t gone through what we did. It is curious that I received texts, emails and phone calls recently from Portsmouth Chevrolet to trade it in (no doubt because of the chip shortage) early, but after this experience I am not interested in doing business. It’s disappointing because up to this point I’ve been treated well by the sales and service staff. I feel like we’ve been taken advantage of.

I brought my Suburban in for a needed repair. The service manager, Alexandra Mills, got me right in. After the diagnosis, parts were required that would leave me without a vehicle for 48 hours. Alexandra went above and beyond: she was able to source the parts and have the Suburban turned around the same day. The mechanic did an outstanding job! He went above and beyond to fix the driver door where the push button to lock/unlock was not working, as well as, taking the door panel off to fix a rattle inside. The push button worked and there was no longer any rattle inside. You could not tell the panel was ever removed and the truck was left spotless. It appeared they washed it and cleaned the windows which was unexpected but outstanding to find.I am very finicky with my vehicles and past experiences with other dealerships have generally been met with disappointment due to what appears not caring about anothers vehicle. However, at Portsmouth Chevy I have never been disappointed because my vehicles has always been returned spotless with no evidence anyone every worked on it, even though they had. Very impressed.Vehicle brands are one thing, and not much a dealer can do about manufacturing issues. In my opinion, what makes a dealership stand out over others is their service and treatment of their customers. I have been purchasing vehicles for over 30 years and dealt with many dealerships. Some good, some not so good, and some very poor. No dealership I have dealt with comes close to Portsmouth Chevys service and treatment of their customers. I would highly recommend them and their products since, as far as I am concerned, they stand behind them fully and treat you and your vehicle with respect!

Worse dealership I have ever dealt with. Purchased a vehicle and it was in the body shop, was promised it on Tuesday and when I called numerous times and got no call back was going to cancel the loan and all of a sudden get a call. They were nice enough to bring the vehicle to me(which I appreciate), then when it get to my house it only comes with one key and they didnt even clean what ever is all over the door and hood. Asked about the other key and get well the other owner must not have brought in a text after calling 3 times with no response. You figure for the inconvenience that my wife and I have gone through and the money paid for the vehicle they would call and say we will get you a key and remote because you are a valued customer. Guess they got there money and sale so now they could care less. Thank You Portsmouth Chevy for the Great customer service

LeRoy was great! John in finance said it had gone through a 71 point inspection. The next day we took it to our mechanic and he found and oil leak that should of been obvious during inspection. We called back and had to bring it in. It was fix promptly by service. Disappointed this was not detected prior to sale. Makes me wonder if there is something else.

I was traveling to Maine from New York for vacation when my check engine light came on. I had just purchased my new truck a few months ago and was concerned because it had less than 5k miles on it. I stopped in to Portsmouth Chevy and they got my truck in the shop quickly, and it turned out to be a minor programming issue. A technician fixed the issue right away and got me back on the road to vacation. We were maybe there for an hour and the technician who helped me was very friendly and knowledgeable. Scheduling & check in were fast & easy. Service employees were friendly, informative & kept me up to date with what was happening with my car. I needed tires & was informed that GM would pay about half the cost of my new tires because mine wore too quickly or the type tire was found to wear too quickly. I was even given a coupon for addl savings. I trust that they only fix what needs fixing & they gave me options to get all my services done by splitting up services to keep cost spread out instead of one huge bill. I feel safe driving my vehicle after they work on it. I have purchased at least 6 vehicles from Portsmouth Chevrolet, & my mom bought two & we chose to have most of our services done there. Dealt with my salesperson Angelica over the web regarding a vehicle I was interested in. I found her very responsive and scheduled an appointment as I was coming from Massachusetts. Have to say it was worth the trip, when I showed up, the car was completely detailed and ready for a test drive. Angelica was very informative regarding the vehicle and really put my wife and I at ease as we were stretching the budget on this purchase. Im very dissatisfied with the service. Long story short I called about a Camaro I wanted. I was told they would hold it till Saturday for me. I asked multiple times if they wanted me to come sooner to see it or if I should pay for them to hold it. They said no it would be saved for me. After I got my Finances together they texted me saying the car was being sold to someone else. I tried to call them asking why that was. I then asked to speak to the manager of sales and nobody would connect me. I then emailed the sales manager and the response I got was disappointing. In the pictures you can see what he said. Always a pleasure being treated like a number.

We had been searching for a new Suburban for a while. We had just gone to Quirk Chevy in Manchester and were scheduled to go back when i got a postcard in the mail welcoming one of our friends, Ernie Bubier, to Portsmouth Chevrolet. So we reached out and scheduled a time to go down and see him. We had bought a Chevy Traverse from Key Auto and loved the sales experience so we were excited when he told us that they were part of Key Auto Group.We arrived and Ernie set us up with Eddie who was our salesman. Eddie sealed the deal because he took the time to shop around for what exactly we wanted instead of trying to push an in stock unit on us. We had seen a 9 passenger Suburban at Quirk and loved it for our family of 7 and 2 dogs. The entire team went out of their way to find us our vehicle and get it delivered.Eddie was one of the best salesmen that I have ever worked with. He kept us updated and it was low pressure. He joked with us and kept it a very easy buying experience. He even came in on his day off to help us take delivery, which we really appreciated so we could take our new Suburban away for a long weekend with the family. He even took a great picture and texted it to us.The finance manager was exceptional and helped us with getting some touch up paint for a paint chip on the door. Avoid salesman Brandon Small. He was a bad salesman who was slow to respond to my questions and concerns, as if he wasn’t even interested in selling me a car. I spoke to the general manager and filed a complaint. I ended up going with another dealer and had a much better experience. Do your homework and shop around!
