I was searching for a used guitar and discovered this shop hiding in my own neighborhood. I walked in and they had a fantastic assortment of old and classic guitars. Prices were reasonable and trade in rates are great. I was able to trade up to a great guitar and I love knowing that my old guitar will also find a home. If you like small businesses with a personal touch, this is the place to go. It is not Guitar Center. So go in there, how else will you find out what Parrotdice is all about.
These guys are the best. Jay is a great dude who is all about customer service. Alex is a fantastic tech who transformed my Classic Player Jazzmaster into a beast of a guitar. His setups are perfect. Trust me, these dudes will take care of you.
Truly a guitar store of the people. An amazing selection of great quality instruments that are reasonably priced, and some of the best setups I’ve gotten for even more reasonable prices. Also super friendly, can’t recommend this spot more
Jay’s shop is awesome! You should check it out. It’s got secret deals!
The owner is amazing here. Super knowledgeable about everything in the store. Just overall a great place to buy a guitar at. I would give more stars if I could.
My favorite shop around PDX for used gear and repairs. They do a great job at repairing gear.
There’s an INSANE amount of stuff in this tiny space! And it’s all pre-loved which is awesome. The bass selection was great, way more than I expected. Alex is really nice and knows way more than I do about guitar stuff beginner as I am. My initial impression is like Old Town but friendlier and more boutique, with a comparably sized inventory except it’s 100% cool used stuff instead of 90% new squiers.
This place is awesome! So many cool guitars! Alex set my new/used bass up the same-day. Professional, honest and helpful. The difference in sound before and after your set-up is like night and day!! Thanks man!! Definitely recommend!!!
This is an incredible shop in the heart of multnomah village. The inventory is always changing. They have such an awesome collection of instruments and equipment. Jay really knows his stuff and is happy to help you. Very comfortable atmosphere. No pressure sales. Go check them out !
Yep, everybody is right, this place is fantastic!Im a newbie. Only had a guitar a week and bust a string. Did my internet research and called these guys.Despite the fact they run a second hand enthusiast store, they had all the time and patience for me, and never made me feel in any way inferior. Add to this they did my complete re-string within 4 hours (I was expecting the next day), and that they only took $25 (well, well below the $40-$100 online forum quotes) and I can honestly say these guys will be my go to for any guitar work/questions/sales.
Really enjoy this little shop. A great find!!
Great customer service! They know their instruments, and are very friendly.
Great spot, great selection, great staff! Lots of cool axes!!
Super knowledgable, super fast and super rad guys. Highly recommend. I work in a studio environment and had to get some quick repairs done and these guys flipped all 3 in 24 hours and did get work. Hit em up!
A peaceful way to spend time in a pleasant atmosphere. A nice selection of used guitars at fair prices. Some of the equipment(amps and chords) need some attention. Likable staff. I will buy a guitar there some day!
I had some soldering work done here- it was about 30% cheaper than the guy I used to go to in DC but took longer so I felt like it was a fair price for what I was getting. If you need a guitar, especially a first or second one, this place cant be beat: lots of quality instruments across different eras and styles, you really cant go wrong with anything they have. The prices were good too, even relative to Craigslist. Compare that to Guitar Center where 75% of the guitars wont hold their monetary value and probably wont even hold your interest in 3 years after you have a better appreciation for what constitutes a cool and quality guitar. Ideal place to get started with guitar or flesh out your arsenal.
Great, friendly and informative customer service!
These guys run a great operation, terrific value, high quality service and great inventory. I wish my guitar playing was as good as the service they give my guitars!
Without a doubt the most friendly and knowledgeable guitar shop in Portland. The shop hassocks huge selection of vintage guitars, pedals, and amps for you to choose from. There are even bound to be some quirky items (like a toaster amp) to satisfy that feeling that big box stores cannot compare to. Jay has set up at least 4 of my guitars and done a spectacular job each time, even in a timely manner! Much better experience than department style stores. Please visit this store because it is everything a vintage guitar shop should be.
Nice folks running a cool guitar shop.
This shop right has a great selection of used and vintage guitars and instruments. His instruments range in price and quality so beginners to seasoned pros can all find something here. The service is great, Jay has a quick turn around for guitar repair and can often take on other jobs like pedal and amp repair as well. His prices are fair and the location is great.
This place is loaded with the great gear, knowledge and expertise to bring your musical imaginations to life! I’ve picked up a resonator, Guitar pedals, bass necks and much more! Screaming deals! Jay (owner) is a force to be reckoned with. He delivers endless possibilities to bring the best out of your gear! Comfortable environment! And ya, the guard dog is awesome too!! Woof woof 😁 Thank you Paradice! For being here in Portland!
Awesome guitar shop in Multnomah Village. Very impressive selection of guitars and effects. Jay is very knowledgeable, but more importantly, a really nice guy. And his guitar tech is top-notch. I have purchased an SG-1, a 1985 SG, and a Gibson Explorer. Thats my real review. Thanks Jay.
This is one of my all-time favorite music shops in the entire USA! Jay is a gear expert and his prices are amazing— whether it be a routine set up or a major repair, he’s got you! Not to mention that his vintage stock is always incredible. Definitely check this place out if you’re ever in or around Portland!
I recently got to work with Jay on a huge community event. He was unbelievably professional and wonderful to work with. The bands we worked with loved him as well. His shop carries some very cool guitars and hes an asset to our community.
Great shop, good selection of quality instruments and Jay is helpful and knowledgeable. And, it’s CLEAN! I’m tired of local stores that look like they haven’t been wiped down since 1988. Highly recommended!!
I love this place! My Fender Twin had an absolute melt down and after receiving multiple quotes around $500, I happened upon ParrotDice and Jay helped me get my amp in perfect working order for less than half of what I was quoted from other local shops. Since then, Ive taken my bands guitars there to get re-fretted and even got a great deal on a new Telecaster. Jay is the bees knees!
Awesome little shop in the heart of Multnomah Village. Really cool selection of used guitars and other instruments as well. I brought my guitar to be serviced here and couldnt be happier with the results! Fair price and the thing plays like new. Jay is super friendly and knowledgable. Highly recommend!
Jay has been taking care of my setups for a couple of years now for a reason. I trust that hes going to go above and beyond with any instrument that I bring to him.On top of that hes very fair with trade in value and always has gear that I want to leave with.Plus cute shop dog.
This shop has the most unique and diverse inventory of vintage/second hand gear. Jay is awesome, knowledgeable and always helpful. Absolutely one of the best music shops this side of the willamette.
Jay is the best in town. Very high quality repairs for extremely reasonable prices. If you live in the Portland metro area and need your guitars/basses serviced, dont go anywhere else than ParrotDice Guitars!
Fun shop with a welcoming owner and clientele. They gave me a great deal on a used guitar and the owner dug up a gig bag to go with it. Ill be back!
I have used this shop for all of its services, luthier repair, buying, and selling equipment and every transaction has been handled with top notch customer service and aplomb. The same has been reported back to me by those that I sent to the shop. I give it my highest recommendation without reservation!
Love this place! Best place in town to find unique vintage guitars at affordable prices. I’ve bougt at least 4 guitars here and have had them all serviced and modified here, wouldn’t think of going anywhere else!
This shop is stocked with all your guitar needs. Jay, the owner, is very helpful and kind. Plus, the shop has a cute, furry mascot!
Staff is super friendly and knowledgeable. The space is great for checking out gear and it doesn’t hurt that the shop dog Seymour is super cute and friendly. If you support local businesses that are in it for the right reasons, this is a definite gem in the heart of Multnomah Village.
I was out on tour and my wiring was acting up on my old P-base. Jay went out of his way to fix my bass, get it back to me for the show and even hooked me up with a good deal on some hard cases for my SG and Les Paul! Go here and buy everything!
Great selection of used guitars, amps, pedals, etc., plus repair services. Fun shop to be in. Lots of unique gear. Down to earth staff. Highly recommended!
Jay is a highly skilled luthier who has done a fine job repairing and modifying my guitar and tiple. He also offers an excellent selection of used instruments at reasonable prices. I highly recommend ParrotDice Guitar Shop for walk-in or online shoppers.
Great little guitar shop SW Multnomah neighborhood. Nice selection of used effect pedals, and vintage guitars. They also offer repairs and modifications to guitars, there luthier is extremely talented and I love following his work on Instagram. Great stuff! We have amazing local guitar shops in Portland. This is one not to miss!
Excellent assortment of vintage guitars and amps. Quality repair work, competitively priced, with very quick turnaround.
This is a sweet little shop with a very personable and knowledgeable owner! I have nothing but positive things to say about it, highly recommended!
Great shop. This is where everyone I know would get their equipment repaired
Im the owner of a small café in SE PDX. We started a music program this last summer and needed some sound equipment that fit our budget, needs and expectations for growth and Jay has been incredibly helpful in not only finding us the right gear, but helped train our staff on its use, any unforeseen problems we might run into with musicians forgotten or faulty gear, and has even helped run the sound when we needed an extra hand. Couldnt recommend ParrotDice more!
Great shop, lovely people, with amazing instruments and supplies. Hands down the best guitar shop in Portland.
So many cool guitars and amps.
