Smartbox Portland was very helpful in providing storage solutions for our son attending college in Portland. They provided reliable service and delivery of a storage box in a quick turnaround time when students needed to move-out quickly in March 2020. Then, when our son returned to campus, they were equally helpful and provided delivery of my son’s belongings as promised. Thank you Smartbox for being so dependable and easy to work with during these unprecedented times!

I moved from the east coast to the west coast and Smartbox Moving and Storage took the stress out of my move. Everyone was so easy to work with. Communication was clear and each part of delivery and pick-up was timely. Dave in Baltimore and Elijah in Oregon, made delivery and pick-up smooth and were personable and able to answer all of my questions and concerns. I highly recommend this company to anyone making a big move.

Myron was amazing!!! He was so helpful and great to work with. I have been recommending the local smartbox to everyone including our realtor. I will say that that Smartbox toll free number (which is ran by the overarching company) was not helpful at all and I waited on hold with them several times for 40+ min.

We used Smartbox for our daughter’s storage needs over summer break for college. The box was dropped off and picked up on the days agreed upon. Overall we were very happy with the service. The only thing that would have been helpful is a more specific location of where the box was dropped off so our daughter and roommate didn’t have to search all over campus.

Overall, a nice service to have (having boxes delivered to your door is super convenient!) The boxes are solid and clean and Smart Box will even send locks (for an extra fee) if you dont have time to go to the store and buy them yourself.The problems Ive had have been with billing. Ive had several instances where I was charged for boxes I wasnt using or drop-offs we didnt have; also situations where we were on auto-pay and suddenly got sent an email claiming we had a late fee! Each time, I was able to solve this by speaking with someone in customer service, but it was frustrating to have to make the call when we were already knee-deep in all the logistics of moving houses.Overall, good service to use but keep an eye on your bill and make sure to call if there is anything that seems out of place on the invoice!

I used Smart Box for my moving and storage needs and they were great. They arrived on time for the move and everything went exactly as discussed and pre-arranged before the pick-up and transport. Very helpful staff during the set-up and moving process. I continue to store my stuff with them, and have used an auto-pay billing system for the last couple years - still great; no surprises .

I have used Smartbox twice for lengthy storage of my belongings. Both times they were prompt in delivery/pickup of the box and all items were returned to me in excellent condition. They will definitely be my go to if I have a longtime storage need again. Their customer service staff was also spot on every time I called with a need or question.

Cheaper than competitors, their units fit in one parking space without special accommodations and plenty of room. They exceeded my service expectations to help us when we really needed it. Things to consider: scheduling in advance, getting a lock and that the unit is small so may need more than one..

I’m a bit late with this review, as we used smartbox over the summer. Just like the previous reviewer, we had a great experience. We only had to store our items for 3 months, and were able to get in and out easily. John (Jon?) was very communicative and friendly, and called us in advance before arriving both times. My partner and I would definitely recommend smartbox to anyone who needs temporary storage.

I would give 0 stars but my delivery guy was very nice so that star is for him. Worst business experience perhaps ever in my 40ish years. Super misleading and expensive, was supposed to be set up on auto pay but wasnt so got hit w 4 late fees totalling $100! Also was told I could access box any time and this is not true. I would never ever ever use this service again. So disappointing.

Nice service, and nice delivery guy. Super friendly and helpful throughout. I will be using them again when I resurface my kitchen floors.

I recently sold my home and needed to store my belongings until my new home was ready. I have continued to be charged storage fees even though my belongings were delivered. I was told by the company a refund was on the way but still have not received it. I have reached out to the manager with no success. Customers beware!

I moved (back) to Portland from Nashville, so experienced the SmartBox team on a few different levels. The corporate team was a little hard to get a hold of (limited # of ppl who handle long distance moves), but very nice and helpful. Nashville team who delivered boxes were awful. Delivered in wrong spot, which made it hard to load, and bungled pick-up. PDX delivered late, but communicated well, put boxes where we asked, and were great about flexibility on picking up after the unload. Good price, boxes dimensionally were same size as moving truck, but somehow harder to load. In hindsight, I wish we had just done the moving truck.

Close by, local and very helpful. Pick up and drop off times were given a heads up.

I have been using Smartbox for about 4 years now and it is pretty wonderful. The people are nice and answer questions quickly and my stuff is safe, dry and very secure.

It is impossible to get ahold of anyone, no one calls you back or resolves your issues. I am going on 6 months of trying to get them to resolve an issue with them.
